These guys are great. I initially discovered them a couple years ago - needed a plug in a tire. I ran into the shop, asked them if they could quick take care of it. They said, absolutely! A few bucks and a few minutes later - I was on the road again! I now regularly have my truck serviced here. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and always take the time to explain any recommendations/ repairs/ problems they find. It means the world to have a good mechanic/ shop I can trust!

Waynes shop did a great job getting my daughters car up and running after having not run it much for the previous 18 months. Its an older car (2006) with a major power steering issue, and we live out west, so it was really nice to finally find someone who came highly recommended that we could feel good about. His high ratings are well deserved.

I got my oil changed at Wayne’s. I met Wanye - he’s a really nice and professional guy. He checked with me via phone call before installing air filters or doing anything extra, which I thought was really professional, and I really appreciated it. The price I was quoted is the price I paid, and it was a fair price. I’ll be back, hopefully not too soon, but when I need something, this is the place.

Always great to see a hard working female mechanic who actually knows her stuff. Its even better when she tells you exactly what is needed and when instead of making you feel pressured into getting alot of extra done at one time. Waynes did a good job getting my 02 Civic road-worthy and safe for another year. While the services needed to pass inspection were expensive for me, I trust that they were necessary.

Waynes garage is a trustworthy place to get your car cared for. They are also very fast. They always do their best to see my car same day for repair and pick up. I signed up for an inspection a year ago and I needed to cancel. when I went in I got a real off-putting feeling, on top of them being a bit rude, but I brushed it off at the time. After that I was doing more research on trustworthy mechanics in the area and universally heard negative things about this garage from people who had used them and including other mechanics (who were booked solid and unable to squeeze me in) I typically would not make a review about this but as that I know several people who were personally burned by this business I felt compelled to post.

My old car runs like it’s new. Great service. Best mechanic experience I’ve had in West Philly.

As a first time car owner I’m new to all this but I’d always heard good things about Wayne’s. When i needed an emissions test at short notice my dealer wasn’t much help but Wayne’s fitted me in and were very considerate of my disorganized state. Highly recommended

The check engine light was on and I needed an oil change. I also planned to get a safety inspection. I chose Waynes Garage because of the Google reviews, and I had a great experience. I was able to make an appointment promptly, I was given an estimate of repairs in the morning, and the car was ready by the end of the day. The car needed some big repairs in order to be ready to pass inspection, but the car is old so I was not surprised by any of the repairs. The prices were fair and the service was great. I was given clear explanations and everyone was friendly. I will definitely be returning for regular maintenance and any other repairs.

My airbag light was on and I dreaded going to the dealer. I saw an ad for these guys and the whole experience exceeded my expectations. First off, Wayne the owner was there. My car was diagnosed within the hour, parts ordered, jeep fixed same day. I got to listen to and see cool videos of family trips sky diving and swimming with sharks! There are decades old pics of local legends on the wall. Overall a pleasant experience,their prices are fair, and the quality of service was excellent!

I had been told elsewhere that my car needed new tires and new brakes, but was letting it go (I’m a new car owner owner and I’m still learning about how to prioritize what’s needed and what’s urgent and what can be postponed). My battery died, which turned out was a good thing. Wayne’s is around the corner. I got a jumpstart from a neighbor and then drove it to Wayne’s. They told me I’d probably need a new battery and would call me. They called me shortly after and told me, you need new four new tires I’m surprised you haven’t had a blowout, new brake pads and rotors and a new battery and we’ll take care of all of it and have it ready for you at 3:00 for a reasonable price (I checked with a couple people). They called on time, price was reasonable and as a new (female) car owner I didn’t at all feel condescended or taken advantage of (which I’m on the lookout for). Really convenient and happy to have it all taken care of.

Waynes Garage is fantastic! Brought in my GLK350 for an oil change, filter replacements, and brakes/rotors (or so I thought). When they called me for an estimate of the work, they informed me that my brakes/rotors were fine and performed only the needed services. They couldve easily done the extra service as I was ready to pay for it, but instead saved me a significant amount of money. Highly recommend!

I’ve gone to Wayne’s Garage twice now, and the entire team is unfailingly polite and patient. They communicate clearly and kept me updated when they found an issue during my inspection. And they work quickly, so I was able to get my car back the same day thanks to the team going above and beyond to find a new part I needed.

I called early Friday afternoon to see if they could inspect my car, and 15 minutes later I was dropping off my car. They stayed in touch with me all afternoon, let me know what my car needed, and by 5pm my car was safe and ready to go. They couldn’t have been nicer! Plus they gave me Halloween candy, which was adorable. I will definitely go back for next year’s inspection!

Highly recommend. My car is very old and I have trust issues when it comes to people fixing my car. I was only told what was wrong with my car, but I was shown. I was given a mini teaching session on the problem and how it was going to be fixed. Once the problem was fixed, I did notice an additional problem occurred a few days afterwards. I brought my car back to Wayne’s Garage, they called and told me was the problem was and they were able to fix it. I haven’t had a problem since then. Super trusting and they know their stuff.

My sister and I get our oil changes done here and recently have had some bigger projects done as well. The staff is extremely professional and knowledgeable, and explain what they’re doing if you’re not car savvy. They are usually able to fit us in the schedule quickly. Overall pleasant experience!!

My wife broke down in our Subaru on Tuesday night before Thanksgiving. We left the car until morning when I called Waynes to see if they could help. They said yes sure. I had it towed and they looked at it right away. Within the hour they called with a price quote for a broken transmission line going into the radiator. They quoted a new radiator, did the work and we had the car back by 3:00 that day. The staff were all excellent, friendly, professional and attentive. I highly recommend this service.

Wayne & Mike are always so friendly when I go in, and honest about what my car needs. They have always been prompt, considerate and helpful. I live a few blocks away so it’s convenient as well. I’ll definitely keep bringing my car here and I trust their judgment.

We live around the corner from Wayne’s and I have to say they are really good neighbors. They have candy for the kids on Halloween. They don’t abuse our parking spaces. They wear masks during pandemics. I’ve always been satisfied with their service, they may try a bit of upsell like any mechanic but they don’t push too hard. Overall I’m glad they are still around.

Staff is very good at communicating. Honest and trustworthy. Work was completed quickly and comes with an 18-month warranty. Very happy with my experience at this shop but wish all office staff wore masks during this pandemic, especially since the office is so small. Otherwise, very glad to have this service shop in my neighborhood.

Wayne’s was great! I called on a Tuesday afternoon to ask about having my car towed in for an alternator replacement and oil change. They told me to bring it right over, and that they could do the repair the next morning, and even gave me the exact price for everything in advance. They called at 8 AM the next morning and said that the repairs were done and I could come get the car. They were friendly and speedy, and the price was great. I had actually been putting off having the repair done, because I don’t need the car regularly, and I’m tired of mechanics condescending to me and ripping me off. This, however, was a great experience, and I’m so glad I found out about Wayne’s! Highly recommend.

This was my first time at Wayne’s and I wish I had been using them this whole time! They are located a few blocks from me so this morning, I dropped off my car at 7:45am and went for a walk.I didn’t expect the car to be done for some time, but I got a call about an hour later saying it was done! My Mercedes-Benz was due for its scheduled maintenance and because of the pandemic, I wanted to stay in Philly and be as close to home as possible. The closest Mercedes-Benz dealership is in Cherry Hill, NJ and they are closed. I didnt want to drive all the way to Devon, Pa so I discovered Waynes Garage right here in Philly. The service was good, the repair technicians finished in a timely fashion, both management and repair staff were professional and the price was fair. I recommend checking them out. Fast service and reasonable prices. I had an issue with a grinding noise from my brakes, and called thinking that maybe Id get an appointment next week. They had me drop my car off this morning and got it back to me this afternoon having replaced 2 brake rotors and a brake pad! The staff was professional and was able to give some ideas about what caused the issue.

Dropped off car for inspection, was called within 2 hrs with some items needed repair. Price quoted was reasonable, and work was done in less time than they originally assessed. In addition, a repair I had asked them to look at (brakes) was determined as not needed at that time.As a first time customer, they could have done the brakes anyway but they were honest and told me I didn’t need them yet. I like that.They also discovered an issue I was unaware of and could have caused worse problems down the line.Good price, good quality work, reasonably quick, and no BS.I will definitely use them again whenever possible.

They sent a report to CarFax without asking and tried to charge me $960 for a strut replacement that I got done elsewhere for $325.

I truly wish I could go back to Wayne’s because it is very convenient. However they have taken advantage of the fact that I’m a woman and don’t know much about cars. The last time I went there I needed a new battery. They charged me $350 for this. I looked at the invoice and they charged $50 testing my old battery. I didn’t ask them to do that, I asked them to replace it.I get my battery is probably a 100 and then a service fee. But $350?? Every time I have gone there they have found an “issue” that is completely irrelevant to why I’m going there. I do understand that sometimes unexpected things show up, but every single time I go there? And then when I go to another shop they don’t report the same issue that they report.

Was just trying to get a quote for a set of tires, Im not a professional but I just got my car inspected and the tires barely passed. One just got a flat as well.. I figured it would be time to just bite the bullet and opted to try a local shop instead of a chain... I told them the model of my car and was asked twice what the tire size was. I googled it and told them... I was then transferred when I didnt know what my speed rating was. I was asked the same questions and rudely told by Mike Its going to be hard to help you if you dont know the speed rating, why do you think you even need tires?. I thought the mechanic would be able to figure out my recommended tires, given the model provided. I was asking for a whole set! Didnt even need just one to match a set... I was just looking for help... very frustrating.

I came in for a state inspection and emissions test and the experience I had at Waynes Garage was mixed. Wayne was nice on the phone and I told him ahead of time that I already brought my car to an official dealer and already knew the SPSS sensor was on intermittently and that the headlights were blinking faster than usual. He quoted me for around $70 for the test afterward, pass or fail, which I agreed to.However, the manager, Mike, was not as nice on the phone after I dropped off my car and said I needed to pay about an additional $130 because he already went ahead and performed a basic computer test. He said the check engine light was on, which it wasnt. He later corrected himself and said it was the SPSS sensor that I already knew about and he said it was required that he ran the $130 test anyway on top of the $70 test I came in for. I know additional items may come up during an inspection but the SPSS sensor was something I already told Wayne that I was aware of on the phone and no mention of additional tests came up before dropping off my car. Even so, I did pay that bill to compensate them for their time but I wished they would have called before deciding to perform and charge for extra work that was not discussed previously. They did ask about some of the other repairs before performing them and I elected those that he said were necessary to pass the state inspection and emissions test.Like others have mentioned, their prices are on the higher side. I am ok with paying a premium for convenience but I am not ok with with a manager assuming you are trying to be cheap for asking about the breakdown of a bill. I did not even say that the bill was high before he went ahead and literally told me this isnt the place you go to if you want rock-bottom prices. I wasnt trying to be cheap at all and I have no problem buying another car if needed. As the manager, he should check his tone and realize how some of the things that he says can come off as rude and offensive. No customer should be treated that way when paying a premium.In the end, we talked it out and I said I would consider giving them another chance for the next inspection if my usual mechanic wasnt already booked like he was this time around. If they do the state inspection and emissions test again, Im hoping it really is around a $70 pass or fail test next time. My experience wasnt the worst but it definitely wasnt the best and my rating reflects that.

Oil change and inspection done by Waynes Garage. I was happy with the service but prices were out of control. Inspection, oil change, wiper blades, and a filter nearly cost me $300. Pretty insane prices. They also wouldnt pass my inspection without wiper blades. Seemed like they were reaching for a reason for me to spend more money... what choice did I have?

These guys took great care of me after my 05 Subaru Outback decided to start swerving all over the road on my drive to Philly. They got me an appointment within two days, and they finished some major work within a day. Price was reasonable, and not only was Mike more than happy to talk to my dad over the phone, he was even happy to talk to our mechanic back home. They took great care of me and were super patient. I’ll certainly be back.

I bought a used 2008 Toyota Prius, and in only two weeks, someone had stolen the catalytic converter from under the car. I called Waynes Garage from my parking lot and told Mike that my Prius sounded like a jet engine. He told me what could have been wrong and gave me advice to get the car to the shop that day (apparently this is happening all over Philly). By the next morning my car was completely fixed. Everyone at the garage was very kind and super transparent about the process of repairing my car. Now I plan to bring my car to them for regular scheduled maintenance. Its my first time having a car in the city so I appreciate all of the support during this stressful time!

I took my car in for repair they gave me a bogus diagnosis. They made repairs to everything but what fixed my car. when I returned the car; Bates used every excuse he could come up with to not fix the car. the fight continues.

Called a few days before I went in and asked to have my ac looked at. The guy told me it was going to be a charge for that. That wasnt a problem. I get there and the guy told me it would be $156 just to look at it. He could of told me that over the phone. He assumed that I was trying to be cheap, which I wasnt. Then on top of that in the middle of our conversation some Lady walks in with a dog. He damn near jumped over the counter to give the dog a treat. Very rude!!!

The garage that I typically utilize is closed due to COVID19 but I still needed to be able to get around. Looked for the shop nearest to where I worked and saw Waynes. Did a little research (years in service and reviews) and saw the 5 stars. I am pleased to add my 5 and if I could give more I would... i scheduled to go in early but got there at 8:30. Mike is pleasant and courteous (and by the way I did overhear him speaking with an insurance co. They went back and forth with him clearly pushing his patience and never did I hear him become nasty). They quickly took my car and assessed what needed to be done. Mike even accommodated my trying to work around or schedule the additional work needed to make my car safe to drive (with/without new tires) but also urged the importance of the need for all four. I praise God my friend helped me to get all the work done there, same day. Two hours later and all work done. Left there feeling beyond satisfied. Not done, I went back because I thought it was making an unfamiliar sound. Tiffany(?) who worked on my car rode with me to listen for the sound and took the brakes off to assure me that it had to do with their newness... Im a dedicated Honda owner who *always* takes her vehicle to Maineline Honda for servicing because thats who I trust. Not anymore.I initially chose Waynes because when I was involved with Project MEOW years ago, someone there was feeding/caring for community cats outside.I had my car towed to Waynes on a Sunday while they were closed. By Monday at lunchtime, Waynes had confirmed the problem, given me a quote and had my car ready to go by Tuesday, mid morning.Waynes compares very favorably to the dealership in price, service, expertise and turn-around-time. Plus, its just 2 minutes from my house.....and someone there likes cat and is compassionate.I look forward to building a long relationship with Waynes. Very pleased.
