I have used genes automotive for a number of vehicles and the workmanship is always top notch with the cost very affordable and competitive. I am treated like a friend of the family and their book keeper Michele is always accomadating and pleasant. I trust them with my life.

This place is a COMPLETE JOKE!! My usual mechanic couldn’t diagnose my vehicle so he recommended Gene’s Automotive. My husband called in advance to see about taking my vehicle there. They told us to just bring it up there. As they were ending the day early, it was decided that we would bring it the next morning. I took it the following morning. I never heard anything back about a diagnosis that day. I knew they had been closing the shop early so I called the second day around 2:30pm as I hadn’t heard anything. The receptionist answered and said my vehicle was next to be looked at. I waited the third day as I still hadn’t heard anything. I called and receptionist (Charles’ wife) answered and I was told they were looking at it as we spoke. Didn’t receive a call back. So I called again at 3:45 being as the shop would be closing soon and it was Friday afternoon. I get put on hold for almost 10 minutes. Michelle then gets on the phone and said her guys had been backed up so they sent my vehicle over to the transmission shop. I asked why the transmission shop? She said the transmission shop was closing earlier than her shop and that I needed to hold while they closed the transmission shop, then that manager would speak to me. So I hold. About 10 minutes later, Charles, who states he is the owner, proceeds to tell me I don’t need to be questioning who was looking at my vehicle, how he’s the owner, and looks at every vehicle himself. He tells me how his shop is backed up and how most shops are backed up almost two months. While he’s making excuses for himself and stumbling over his words, I’m just confused. All I wanted to know was if my car had been looked at. I hadn’t been rude with anyone. As soon as he finishes excusing himself, I simply state that all I was doing was calling to see if my vehicle had been looked at so I didn’t understand why all the explanations. He then tells me that it’s after 4pm and his shop is closed, so he doesn’t need to take this from me. Again, I’m confused and awestruck at this point over how he’s speaking to me! I responded by saying that I don’t understand why they even agreed to look at my vehicle if they are so backed up or why they didn’t let me know upfront. He started his mess again so I just hung up. I’m headed to the shop now to see if I can even pick my vehicle up since the shop I took it to is open. The tone, words, and excuses coming out of Charles’ (the owner) mouth gives me such an uneasy feeling as if I should’ve never even taken my vehicle to this place to begin with.

Fantastic customer service! Brought a vehicle here for a pre-purchase inspection just to get a set of eyes on the car before buying.. very thankful I did! They noticed signs of damage and showed us several areas of concern. Price was fair, and we were in and out in about 20 minutes. Very honest, and hardworking people - highly recommend!!

Got stuck with a bad alternator coming down from Jersey to SC. We looked up shops and were lucky enough to find Genes Automotive. Even though it was past 4 o’clock they were friendly, helpful, and set us on our way in less than an hour. Highly recommend!

MIRACLE WORKERS! It was so sad... so very, very sad.For many years I searched to find someone who could fix my 2005 Jeep Rubicon whose Performance Computer Module died... and a replacement was not to be found - not a dealer and not at a Jeep specialty shop. But Genes did it!!!!!!!!!! They brought her back to life and consistently checked in with me the whole way. Theyve been in business FOREVER so they have tons of professional knowledge (and sources for PCMs). I always support local businesses - particularly generational ones. Genes is superior. Ask for Michelle - she is the best!

I went there to have my transmission serviced. I was told that my tie rod end was so bad that it couldnt be taken for a test drive I asked for my tie rod and to be repaired and for a wheel alignment. I was told I dont have to do a wheel alignment, I can just count the turns. I now need two tires.This guy supposed to be working on cars for decades and doesnt have the common sense to do a wheel alignment after changing a tie rod end and costing me $400 in tires. Use somebody else with some common sense please.

I broke down not even a mile from work. After sitting on the side of the road googling repair shops, I called several including Genes. His wife Michelle is LOVELY and she was very empathetic. She gave me a much better price than the 4 other shops and gave the number of a local tow company. Upon arrival, I was slightly stressed and she and her employees were friendly and got right to work on my car. My co-worker picked me up and they called me when it was done. Gene checked me out and told me if I ever have future needs, he would be glad to have someone run me to work (Im just up the street). Their work is guranteed for a year, no matter what it is. It is very nice as a woman to deal with a repair shop as honest and kind as they are. They have a new customer!
