The first hour was to inspect my car and price out my options and the second hour was him showing me all the cool things that my CX-9 had in it (plus a few minutes of signing :)). Typical car dealer with friendly staff, but doesnt stand out against the crowd per say. I took my car in for a recall (which is obviously a free repair) and them being a business immediately started lying about different things that supposedly werent working on my car (all blatant lies) in an attempt to not let me leave without giving them some money. Obviously, businesses dont like doing free work, they like making money; and I dont blame them for this, thats business. Its how they go about making that money that bothers me. Little do they know, I do ALL my own work, and the only reason I was there was for the free recall service. I bought the car brand new with no miles, and this was the first time in 5 years of ownership that I had EVER brought it to a dealer...and it will also be the LAST. They claimed my car wouldnt start (another blatant lie) trying to sell me a battery. They DID test the battery (which was getting towards the end of its life to be fair) and I would have needed a battery in the near future regardless; but that is not my point.What angers me beyond belief is when someone lies straight to my face and takes me as a fool just to make a few dollars. I understand that a car dealership is a business, and they need to make money, but there are more honest ways to do so. My point is this: they (and probably all dealerships) WILL take advantage of you at any and every possible opportunity. They were very friendly, and kind, I will admit, and Im not trying to be rude. Im just frustrated with being lied to, and wanted to give a heads up to all. Lets see if they leave this honest review up.
Our family went in to purchase a new Mazda CX-5 on cash, given some of the cars raving reviews and popularity. Anthony Chaney, their certified sales consultant was sitting at the very first desk as soon as we entered. He did not bother to look up to greet us. A mug of tea had spilled over on his desk and computer, which he was not bothered by.I caught his attention and asked him if we could check out the CX-5. Despite the fact that there were 3 chairs in front of his desk (and we were 3 people), he did not bother to offer us a seat and simply started searching his computer, all in his own comfy, reclinable chair. He spoke in 2-3 word phrases, giving us little to no attention. He then took 10-15 minutes to get a CX-5 ready for us to test drive (we wanted to test drive it), although there was not a single other customer in the dealership at the time. After the test drive, I handed him back the key and he did not have ONE (yes ONE) word to say in response. I literally walked out of the dealership after handing him the key.Let me just say, I have been to many dealerships, have purchased & leased cars from dealerships, and this was the most rude and inconsiderate salesman I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I am purchasing a car from you brother - please, show some consideration! While I am still interested in a Mazda, due to this experience, I will not be purchasing as much as a tire from Mazda Scherer in Peoria.

I was initially introduced to Scherer Mazda when they offered free oil changes for all healthcare workers during the pandemic. The ease of scheduling this appointment was fantastic. I made the appointment online and was not spammed with emails and phone calls following. I received one confirmation email and then showed up for my appointment, without ever having to talk to anyone. Once I arrived, I was blown away by how friendly everyone that I had contact with was. During your oil change, you receive a video of the auto mechanic performing his inspection. Admittedly, I have questioned whether other dealerships actually inspect all that they claim to. After my appointment, the maintenance performed and results of my inspection were thoroughly reviewed with me.Additionally, I took my vehicle in for the check engine light being on and they were able to check the code and reset it without charging me a dime. While this may sound like a no-brainer, there are a lot of dealerships where I come from that would take full advantage of a young girl with no automotive knowledge and would charge me for their time. This proved that they are good, honest people.They have a nice waiting area as well with several leather chairs and a TV.I decided to make this my new home for automotive care (even though I own a Jeep). Honest, friendly, knowledgeable people who will take great care of you and your vehicle!

I am currently on my fourth Mazda ranging from a 99 protege to a 2012 Mazda 6. These guys have been absolutely stellar. Even with my old car they were once able to give me a loaner for an entire month while they worked on one of my vehicles.Fannin service is who you want to talk to. Had turbo go out 13 months ago had them put a new one in, thank god we got the extended power train warranty with a cost of 4grand for the new turbo. Now new turbo goes out 13 months latet and find out the last turbo ate up all the warranty amount... Never was told there was a spending limit when we purchased the warranty when we bought the car. Find out also that there was only a 12 month warranty on the last NEW turbo. And now they want another 4grand for another new turbo!!!! Seriously.. 13 months and the NEW turbo is dead......

Id give them six stars if I could, but for some reason we stop at 5. Dan and Randy in service are excellent and always able to make me feel like my schedule actually matters - a refreshing change from many dealership service departments. The sales side is delightful and always willing to help go the extra quarter mile. I have leased several Mazdas over the last couple of years and they make the process as pain free as possible. If you want to spend 4 hours at a car dealership and haggle with the 4 square sheets, this is not the dealership for you. This place represents the Mazda racing team in that they are streamlined, efficient and upfront. I spent 1/4 of the time here and still had all my questions answered. Jenni Bennett has great customer service and the people seem trustworthy.

Ive ordered a few things over the years through their online parts catalog and Ive never had a bad experience. Prices are always competitive, even with shipping to MD! If they dont have a part I need theyll go out of their way to look up other dealerships that may have it and theyll give me their contact information as well as the part number Im looking for. I just bought a 2005 Mazda6 from a private seller and I was looking for an OE cargo mat which apparently is harder than it sounds... While Scherer didnt have it in stock, they gave me the contact info of 3 other dealerships that did. Thats awesome customer service. Ill continue to do business with them as long as I can.
Everyone is so friendly and enjoyable to be around. From the minute I walked in the door for my oil change until the minute I walked out I was shown gratitude for my business, something you don’t see or feel a lot these days.
My family members and I have purchased four excellent vehicles from them, and been very satisfied with their services and products. On top of that, I recently used their service technicians for a significant problem with a VW GTI. They got my vehicle in the next day, diagnosed and remedied the problem quickly, and got me back in the drivers seat at a VERY reasonable cost. I highly recommend!

WONDERFUL experience buying from Keri Thierer at Scherer Mazda!! I live over 2.5 hours away in Chicago, so I never thought I would buy a car from Peoria, IL. It all started with a simple inquiry regarding my MX-5, and Keri (and manager Jenni) made it easy by communicating effectively via emails, calls, and texts. I felt secure making the trip there, and everything was all ready to sign by the time I got there. Even the car was ready out front with the keys! What a sight. I have never had a more pleasant experience, and I can see the ratings on here are well deserved!
Was in for my first oil change for my Mazda3. While in the waiting area Jenni Bennett came over and greeted me, asked how the car was performing, etc. There was another customer of hers waiting for Jenni to locate a particular color of a Mazda3 and I shared how much I love my Titanium Flash Mica so when Jenni returned her customer said, Ill take the Titanium. Jenni jokingly asked if I could stay the rest of the afternoon. Great environment - feel like part of the Scherer family when I visit the dealership.
I purchased a 2015 Mazda 6 from Scherer Mazda a few months ago, and by far this was the best car buying experience I ever had. As we all know, car buying can be completely nerve wrecking, but Jim Scherer and Jenni Bennett made it stress free, and actually very fun. In addition, research shows that Mazdas are extremely reliable and rated extremely well, and a reasonably priced vehicle. This is my second Mazda and will return for my next. I would heavily recommend stopping into Scherer Mazda anytime you are looking for that next car, and ask for Jenni Bennett.
Appalling customer service! Order a part from them online which required returning. I emailed the return request to which I didnt get a response. When calling the dealer to discuss the person on the phone was patronizing and had no desire to help. Happy to respond quickly if they are taking your money but no desire to assist after the sale. They are trying charge a 15% restocking fee which is ridiculous in this age of online ordering.

One of the worst experiences Ive ever had at a car dealership. Extremely pushy to the end, and the finance manager was very angry when I chose my bank over their Chase Bank. He was also irate from me turning down the extended warranty. He got so angry (his name was Scott I think) that he crumpled up all the papers and threw them at the garbage. There was no eye contact and no hand shake. No one walked out to the car with me, or congratulated me on my purchase. The original salesperson I worked with was ok, she was very patient while waiting for me to make a decision. Would not recommend this dealership.

While I havent bought a car from here I have been restoring an older RX7. The parts department here is amazing, Ryan is the man! They have reasonable pricing and can track down hard to find parts.

We live in Des Moines, IA and our son is a freshman at Bradley. He was having issues with his truck and Scherer Mazda was recommended by the parents of a fellow student. Kyle, in the service department, was great to work with and they diagnosed the problem and had the truck fixed in the same day. We appreciated his honesty and the fact that we were not taken advantage of because we were out of state. Kyle called our son and explained the work that needed to be done beforehand and made sure everyone was in agreement. Keri was amazing. One of the best if not THE best sales person I have worked with. She was very responsive and went out of her way to help me with my car buying experience. I didnt however buy a car through Scherer but when I am in the market again, I will be reaching back out. The sales manager was great too. I dont write reviews very often but do feel the need to give kudos to Scherer Mazda. I would recommend this dealership and I am typically anti-dealership due to negative experiences in the past. Only reason I did not buy was because another MX5 with 4k miles came up vs buying new. Honestly, if there was a 6th star I would rate my experience that well. Keri really cared about getting you in the right car...for you! Great job. Keep up the good work and keep putting customers first.
This was the best car buying experience I’ve had in 40 years of buying cars! Jason and Keith were excellent to work with and would recommend anyone looking to buy a vehicle to stop by and check them out. Love my 2015 Mazda 6, great gas mileage, very roomy car, and looks like a much more expensive car then it really is. Recently drove it 2250 miles to and around Denver and back and averaged 36.1 mpg over the entire trip.

My wife and I bought a 2016 Mazda 6 from Scherer Mazda back in June. Unfortunately it was totaled in an accident less than a month after we purchased it. The car did its job in the accident and protected my family. 2 thumbs up on safety!!! We were happy with the car and with Scherer Mazda so we called our salesman (Jason Haskett) up and ordered another Mazda 6. Exact same car except the color. They went above and beyond. Customer service was excellent.

Decent service but they overcharge on labor. I got my bill and saw they charged 10 dollars just to put in new tail lights bulbs. If I had known that they charged for something so trivial I would have just bought the tail light bulbs and put them in myself. When I said this the guy said well I could go take them out for you. Probably wont go back.

Today I came to the dealership to possibly purchase a vehicle but my experience with the salesman was very deplorable and frustrating to the point that I did not even want to purchase a vehicle. I knew when I was coming to do but by the time I left the dealer I felt as though I was saying as a second-class citizen nor was I treated with the respect that I deserve if I was making a major purchase. My experience with other car dealerships have been remarkable but unfortunately my expectations of good customer service ended with a spirit of unsatisfaction. I strongly suggest that if anyone is attempting to go to the dealership to purchase a car, I strongly recommend that you dont.
