When our previous agent retired, Sate Farm assigned us to another agent. That agent & staff did not provide good customer service. After several frustrating months we made the switch to Kays office. What a breath of fresh air! Kay is warm & welcoming. Her staff is wonderful & attentive, especially Patty, who is an absolute gem.
If I could give this woman zero stars I would. I have been with Kay Riordans insurance company for about 3 years. This is the last of what was almost a decade of car insurance with State Farm. I am forced to keep a life insurance policy there because the way insurance is set up you would never get a pre 40 rate again. That said, I closed three auto policies today and went to Esurance. I almost didnt do it. Getting new insurance is a pain in the butt, and the truth is before this horrible experience State Farm had been amazing. I had also been an amazing customer, encouraging people to pay a little more for the service you would like to get. All of that stopped a couple of months ago when I looked at the back side of my bill and saw I was still being charged for renters insurance on a home I hadnt lived in for almost three years. It was a small 10$ charge but I remember distinctly asking them to cancel this charge as I was considering getting the same service here.To make a long story short, after weeks of back and forth mostly me calling people to get an answer, the nicest lady in Kays office was told to call me and let me know that I would receive none of this money back, and that Kay was sorry. Now, I do not really expect all of that money back, maybe half, I mean I could have looked at the bill, but I trusted my agents representatives ability to do what she said she was and the fluctuation in my bill of anywhere from 7-15$ really never gave me a warning that something was going on that should raise a red flag.Here is what REALLY pushes me over the edge, Kay Riordan had no problem collecting my premium for all of this time, but when it came down to it and her office had screwed up, she didnt even have the common courtesy to all me herself and say listen I cannot give you a refund, but I can promise you I wont let this happen again and I am sorry. I believe it would have taken about 3 minutes of pleasantries, and though I wouldnt have been pleased that she wasnt minimally meeting me in the middle, I could have looked, but her employee screwed up right, and I would still be a mostly satisfied State Farm customer. Now, I am this person who resents that this woman who I have never seen made money off of me, while she was doing god knows what.BEWARE IF YOU USE THIS AGENT YOU ARE NOT LIKELY TO EVER HAVE ACTUAL CONTACT WITH HER. SHE DOESNT CARE ABOUT THE VALUE OF HER CLIENT BASE AND IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE REAL WORLD WHERE A CUSTOMER HAS 100s OF CHOICES!
