I started kickboxing about a year and a half before joining Kinetic Kickboxing. However, the learning process started all over again and I gained more knowledge than I could imagine. Mike is truly hands-on and passionate about what he does. His classes are interactive and challenging in all of the good ways. He really believes in his students and sees their highest potential when they may not yet see it in themselves. I made more progress than I expected because of Mike’s style of teaching and technique. He provided creative analogies and demonstration in the class, making it easier to understand how to perform each technique with proper form. He is vigilant, assuring, and gives each student attention and accurate feedback throughout class. Sparring and bag work were my personal favorite elements of the class. I felt supported by Mike as a student and as a person from day one. I would highly recommend Kinetic Kickboxing to anyone who wants to gain knowledge and application of kickboxing, fitness, and confidence.

Ive never boxed or kickboxed before, and while joining felt somewhat intimidating, Michael is such a fluid leader that he gives everyone combos according to their skill level. He gives one-on-one focus throughout so that you can feel confident on your form, and within a few weeks you really feel like youre getting the hang of it. You will be able to hold a roundhouse kick with amazing balance in no time.Brand new bags and mats, as well as ridiculously welcoming peers, make this a one-of-a-kind experience.

Smaller group classes with more individual attention. Very inviting environment with informative instructor. Great for anyone interested in kickboxing that may be intimated by more intimidating environments

I am 58 years old and love this Kinetic Kickboxing class! The class size is small and students of all skill levels participate together. Our instructor Mike Miller, spends one-on-one time with each student in refining the skills we are learning as we practice techniques together. He is very enthusiastic and knowledgable about what he is teaching us and is extremely patience. Reasons to take this class? I wanted to build stamina, increase my heart strength, boost my energy and increase my flexibility. Mission is being accomplished. I feel great and am happy with the progress I am making! I have discovered that kinetic kickboxing provides a great workout! Great class to take with friends and family.

This class was great. Ive practiced martial arts before, and this instructor put me back in practice. Mike is patient and helps you with form to make sure you dont get injured. In between each combination of punches and kicks; he has us do specific strength building exercises to help with each kick and punch. The environment with the class is welcoming and positive. We begin each class by sharing something positive happening in our life, and ends it with victory high tens. This class is about positive change, and not competition.

This was a fantastic class, with lots of positive energy, small number, therefore plenty of one on one from Mike, the instructor, who was awesome, by the way. Though, I have had martial arts experience this class felt challenging enough to keep me from being bored yet achievable enough to not let me feel out of shape, since being away from it all for over a decade. I would definitely recommend the class to all beginners and most intermediate learners. However, I have a feeling Mike most likely has other curriculum in place for the advanced learners. You should explore that, I intend to!

Fun, group oriented, well-led. As an instructor, Michael does well to constructively critique strengths and weaknesses in form while also keeping in mind the limitations of the practitioner. It was my first time kickboxing and I walked away with a huge new knowledge base. As someone interested in martial arts, I have a deep respect for body control and generated power. Michael has both. Its clear that kickboxing is a great love of his and he does well to inspire his students by displaying possibilities of movement.

Ive always been weary of exercising in group sessions due to a few factors: 1) a lack of guidance, 2) less attention to detail, and 3) the intimidation factor.Taking a Kinetic Kickboxing class with Mike is a completely different experience. The class size is always reasonable (between 4 - 7 people), which allows Mike to make sure everyone is practicing the proper technique. Mike has all of us introduce ourselves to one another and that adds a sense of familiarity and belonging amongst all of us. The variety of combinations and exercises makes things enjoyable, because every class is always different.Im having so much fun getting a workout in an ever-changing environment with a handful of positive, hardworking individuals.

This was my first kickboxing class ever and I had a ton of fun! Nothing feels better than smacking the hell out of one of those bags.Mike, the instructor, is one of those magnetic personalities that is fun to be around and makes everything exciting. His background in martial arts make him a very knowledgeable teacher. He has a great way of instructing people and drawing the best out of them, teaching proper technique and correcting/tweaking those that need adjustment. There were all sorts of different skill levels in the class I attended and every single person learned something new and got a great workout in. The facility was clean and there was plenty of space for everyone. One of my favorite aspects of the class was holding certain kick positions, which was great for working on flexibility and core stability. Overall, a blast of a class that I would recommend to everyone!

This was my first kickboxing class. I was intimidated before the workout, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed myself and how quickly I was able to grasp the concepts. Mike is technical, hands-on, and invested in providing a dynamic workout for beginners and the experienced alike. I’ve been twice now and both times I’ve found myself equally sweating and smiling during class. It was empowering, stress-relieving, and I’m improving! Pro tip: bring a friend!

Energetic, upbeat vibe with a cool community of people. This was a high intensity workout that helped me push myself, focus on technical skills, and simultaneously go at my own pace. 5/5 ninjas agree, Kinetic Kickboxing is a solid choice for synthesizing cardio/flexibility/strength work with practical self-defense training

This kickboxing class was definitely different from all the other ones I’ve tried in Pasadena. Unlike the other classes that feature a timed circuit style workout, Kinetic Kickboxing had a more deliberate pace about it.The class asks you to put all your energy into one combination of moves at a time, and gives you just the right amount of rest in between. It’s like the sprint workout of kickboxing classes.Mike is a very knowledgeable trainer and during the workout he goes around making sure you’re doing the right thing and not hurting yourself. He asks you to push hard, but never past the point where you’re doing more harm than good.I recommend giving the class a try, as I can see it being a fit for many people interested in either kickboxing, or a different flavor of workout that has as much to offer as any.

Great class- kicked my butt! It is more focused on actual technique than swings things wildly at bags which makes it much more useful.

When Michael Mills told me he was putting together a kickboxing training program program, I got excited. I first got to know Mike in a business setting, but it wasnt long before I started doing some weight training with him. I am a guy that is very active, does triathlons and acts like he is 20 years younger than what my mom keeps telling him I am....but Mikes workouts were a revelation to me. Precise, effective, informative and never had I been so sore, in all the right places, as I was after his sessions. So I knew that if he applied himself to a kickboxing program, I wanted in! I was not disappointed.I was joined by 3 other students. The chemistry was great and the class energy was high. There were very beginners as well as more seasoned ranges amonst us. For me, a little over competitive and with a lot of prior martial arts experience, I was able to work at my own pace/effort while encouraging and being encouraged by the other participants. The class was fun, supportive and intense (I left it all on the mats!)Michael is one of the brightest guys I know, inside and out of the gym. He has devoted his mind and energy into understanding how our bodies work and how to make them work better. He is also an accomplished kick boxer. As someone who, in his earlier days, has instructed Taekwondo to young people and possesses a black belt, I was impressed with his competency and style. He is able to combine power with technical proficiency... that is not easy!I have been a part of many other kickboxing classes/programs. I have found many kickboxing classes are really just high intensity workouts... which is fine if that is all you desire. Few classes combine the technique development that Micheal brings to the class along with the intensity and effort to make it the best workout you could ask for. I do not know of another kickboxing class I could rate higher based upon technique development and workout intensity. If you have not experienced a workout with Micheal, and you want to develop your kickboxing chops, regardless of whether you are a beginner or proficient, you should take at least one class... then you will see what all the fuss is about!
