This complex is great! Everyone is so friendly and staff is so professional. I really love using the 2 pools this summer! The only thing I wish for is guest passes to the pool, but I guess thats a COVID thing. I cant complain too much
Skylark has provided us with the best place Ive ever lived in! That being said, there were some immediate issues, like no screens in the bedroom windows and our bedroom door not locking. But the amenities are wonderful! I love the pool, gym and playground all super close to where I live! The master bedroom is huge! I was even able to have my office in the bedroom comfortably! So many good things...only a couple minor annoyances.
We have lived in this complex for 10 yrs in different apartments due to its location being close to husbands work and bus. The maintenance is the pits. We have lived 3 yrs in current apartment and have had 7 water leaks in one year. Most are repeat leaks from not being repaired properly the first time. Our dryer will not dry clothes and maintenance didnt respond to repair it for one week and then havent been able to fix the issue and the office just ignores our phone calls to send maintenance back or replace the dryer. I am a senior citizen and carrying laundry to and from laundromat is difficult for me. The worst is just got new Lease for upcoming year with a rental Increase of $154.00! !This is how paying tenants get treated by Morgan Properties.
AC problems could be the start…. Maintenance has “fixed” the issue at least 3 times. Loud neighbors. I was talked into the bottom floor…don’t do it! Trash everywhere including my front window for over 2 months. I emailed over a month ago still no response. Headed to the office tomorrow to file a noise complaint and go from there. What a joke.
As a current resident I do not recommend anyone moving here. And I will be moving at the end of my lease. They will do everything in their power not to spend the appropriate money to fix major issues in your unit. If you have an animal they will cater to you but if youre just a human being they dont care. I had an AC issue... it took me a year to get the correct service a replacement. Animals get treated better than humans at this apartment complex. But the humans pay the bills.
This place is ridiculous. Extremely loud residents who are always screaming and fighting in the halls. No matter how many times you complain the leasing office does nothing. I’ve had plumbing problems for months and maintenance can’t pinpoint the issue. I now have drain flies all over my house. It’s absolutely insane. Please don’t move here.
Stay away. It is a lie! Just moved my son into this apartment community and it literally has been hell from day one in moving in. The office staff (with one exception) clearly has zero training and experience in working relations and professionalism. The first week moving in they placed a notice for failure to pay rent. I had to take it to the office to let them know that they made a mistake. Also, per their website it states that there is a 101 point inspection done prior to moving in and that clearly is untrue and is considered false advertising for this community. Apparently, maintenance does the minimal and for what they do attempt to repair shortcuts are done since they know you are locked into a lease. The bathroom flooring is not only coming up but there is a huge dip (hole) in the floor that they simply tried to caulk thinking no one would notice. The exhaust is broken and hair clumps we’re in the drain clogging the shower. You can see mold. Clearly water damage that is unsafe to walk on. The toilet is new but they didn’t secure it. The dryer doesn’t get hot enough to dry clothes. It took three hours to dry a bedsheet. The AC is out, hallway lights are out and dark, oven burners don’t work, trash just thrown on the ground by residents and broken locks placing your safety and personal items at risk. I can go on but no need because they don’t care and don’t enforce standards. I had to use the back page to list all the broken items because there wasn’t enough room on the front. Every time I called to see the vacant apartment we were told maintenance had the keys due to repairs. That was a month so to see the long list of major items broken, not working and clearly a safety hazard was not only shocking but irritating. This standard speaks volumes of the property manager (Danera, Panera, Genera…whatever) effectiveness and sets the tone but unfortunately it’s a sad and subpar one at that. The way she communicated on the phone was unacceptable without accountability. She thought it was funny when the inspection concerns were brought up. No concern nor empathy for someone who just moved into their first apartment so I can probably say that their attitude problem is reoccurring. Very hostile and not trained on how to handle and resolve conflict with people who are simply trying to have things fixed that should have been accomplished prior to moving in. Contacted corporate but until then as a parent I feel horrible knowing my son and others are living in a community that is managed under her poor and ineffective management. All I can say is look elsewhere but don’t come here!!!
I am a resident and have had major problems since the day I moved in. I have reported to the BBB and recently asked if the maintenance personnel was subjected to a background check due to MAJOR safety concerns. These people have a key to your apartment. I was told they were not allowed to give me that information. I have a niece that lives in the apartments as well and safety is huge. My advice to any parents with children is DO NOT rent from these people. The shady things I have had to put up with is Disturbing to say the least. This is a PSA! BEWARE!
I would not recommend anyone to move here. I recently experienced an AC unit leak and as a result my carpet was water damaged. When the cleaners came out to service my home and clean the carpet there was water from my front door all the way into my bedroom. My carpet now has a mildew smell, which could lead to mold and the complex is refusing to clean or replace my carpet. I have made several online request for service (maintenance/carpet cleaning) and management continue to say it’s cleaned when it still smells of Mildew. This is now a health concern for me and my family, because MILDEW turns to MOLD. I have to keep the air running to eliminate the odor.
My stay here has been great. The office staff is nice and friendly. Maintenance is prompt and very helpful. I will be renewing my lease.
I do not really recommend moving here. Our washer has been broken (timer went bad) for almost 3 weeks. Maintenance came in on a Tuesday (request sent on a Sunday), said theyd be back that Wednesday or Thursday, and never returned, no follow-up calls or emails or stopping by my apartment, no returned calls from management, nothing. 3 WEEKS THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON! Im extremely frustrated. The lack of communication and accountability is astonishing. Weve never had a problem before but this is ridiculous.
When it hasn’t even been a month and somebody gets shot under your window this place definitely gives me section 8 vibes I thought this was a pretty decent apartment but nope only from the outside I wish i would keep paying 1,400 when others living here rent free. Cutting my lease asap this incident could have been worse I don’t feel safe at all. Stay away
Complex is super understaff far as Maintenance . I’ve had major problems issues with rodents and insects due to issues that should’ve never passed their OWN inspection from maintenance before i been viewed the apt to move in and take weeks to address and still dealing with the same issue. Mice, spiders, & ants at an alarming rate.
It’s okay. I love the space and the neighborhood but I am ready to move. I live on the bottom floor and management does nothing about random strangers smoking and hanging in the hallway. It’s dangerous and very uncomfortable. When I reached out to the rental office they suggested I call the police. That doesn’t keep people I can’t wait to move
They used to take meticulous care of their property but lately they have completely neglected to clean the litter in the grass and street and stream area. We have cleaned up several bags of trash but it’s gotten out of control and it’s too much to keep up with.
I would give this place more stars but due to the fact that the leasing office does not care if maintenance completes their maintenance request correctly. There’s not much nice things to say so far. I’ve complained about my front door twice and they still have not fixed my issue and at this point it’s a safety problem for me. Also maintenance came in my home for a maintenance request that I never put in. They went into the wrong apartment. The apartment complex is okay. The walls are extremely thin and the floors are worse they are very squeaky you can’t and use the bathroom without your neighbors hearing you get up at night.
So far my boyfriend and I have had a lovely experience at Skylark Pointe! Everything is easy to navigate, the car wash is FANTASTIC, and we have very nice neighbors. We haven’t had any issues at all. Maintenance is quick and easy, and Melvin is WONDERFUL! ❤️
This place is pretty... Im really enjoying my apartment! Its facing the woods and its exactly the environment I needed leaving a relationship! But I wanted to give you a heads up before you pick this place because I wish someone had done this for me.... you will pay an additional 70 dollars a month. They will send you a monthly bill where your water may be 50, trash is 5, parking is 5, another utility, etc. So when considering, tac that on to your rent. Its A substantial amount of money that no one mentioned to me at all. And talking to other residents apparently they werent aware of it either. So before you get blindsided I just wanna give you a heads up.
Theyve been holding the gym hostage. It was closed for almost a year for renovations and they still have it closed post-covid even though every other gym in the state is back open. Please do not consider the gym as a selling point when deciding whether to move here. Its never open.
I really Like the complex in general, clean environment, nice neighbors. I not to happy with the maintenance department- during the summer/fall months you may wait for weeks for general maintenance. They use all of the crew to service the a/c and heating units.
Update: I have been here almost two years now, and I still really love it. The area is primarily safe, however there has been a few incidents, but I never feel unsafe. These types of things happen everywhere. I feel personally maintenance is great ! They come the next day, very nice and get the job done right the first time. I have not had any issues, the grounds are kept up, everyone minds their own business, and the noise level is not awful. I think this community is worth looking into.I have been living at skylark apartments since July. This is my first time living in my own, and I love it here. I love how quiet the neighborhood is, I feel safe, and the property is kept up. Everyone in the leasing off is very nice, and maintenance is quick. My neighbors all keep to themselves and nobody bothers anyone, it’s truly a great place. I love it here!
I’ve been here for about a month now and while there are a lot of issues; from squeaky floors above, holes in the walls, a lot of spiders and small bugs, the one thing I can say is the office staff are great. Carmen is literally the best person to work with. If you’re looking to lease definitely ask for Carmen. Every issue I have she makes sure to see that it is taken care of. The space is nice and the kitchens are nice too but again the squeaky floors make it hard to get sleep because my neighbor above stomps around at 1 in the morning all the time. I haven’t gotten a chance to check out the amenities because of Covid-19 but it’s not the worst 🤷🏾♀️
The worst place that I have ever lived.
The best part of living here is definitely the staff. I love how accommodating they are and how they strive to ensure that we are satisfied.I also like that they are slowly upgrading the community (new fitness center, 24 hour package room, fire pits and outdoor screens). The one thing that I am not a fan of, is that there are still outdated elements in the apartments (door locks, washer/dryer, refrigerator, toilet) and the property management company no longer provides secure door locks (we are responsible for purchasing).
After living in Skylark Apartments for less than 6 months it has been the worse experience of my life. This was my only resort as I am waiting for my home to finish being built and I thought these apartments would be pretty decent during my wait. Maintenance here is a joke. Just as well as the unethical workers they have working in the leasing office. Bryant is pretty much the only one who I take my hat off to. As for the rest, pure jokes. The maintenance seems to me to be junkies they hire who can barely to do the work. Let alone get it done in a timely manner. I should have done more research as a new tenant, but my advice to future tenants in search of a new place to call home, Run! Skip this place and save your money and time and look elsewhere. I cant wait for my home to be done. This was one of my worst experiences by far!
Very impressed with Skylarks new maintenance team. I placed an emergency maintenance request yesterday evening and the turn around was within the hour. Truly want to thank Morgan Properties for bringing Devon to our Skylark complex. Devon was very professional while repairing my heat, explained everything that needed to be done in order to get the heat back up & running, and took his time while making sure the repair was completed properly. Devon is hands down an asset to Skylarks team - very personable and kind - not just to me but my dogs too! Devon has set the bar high and has established a comfort level that my dogs and I will forever appreciate!
I have a great resident living in the apartment unit. The first person that I met was my 88-year neighbor who has since moved. I miss her.
I have been living here for over a year and I’ve had nothing but positive experiences. The rental office staff are nice and friendly. Brian the property manger takes the time to listen to your concerns. Maintenance fixes within a timely manner and Robin always follows up.
Focusing on Robyn’s customer experience, I have never had a more pleasant experience with a maintenance manager. She has moved mountains to turn a problem into a solution. Not many people would come out of pocket let alone personally fix issues to satisfy a living experience. She has taken care of her tenants in an expeditious manner while implementing her human connection into each interaction
Since a change was made in office staff, things have improved. More helpful and less invasive (as in NOT coming into our apartments almost every week it seemed). It made it not feel like home. Things are better now. The person who came immediately to fix my a/c that had stopped working at 6 p.m. on a 90 degree day did a great job. I was worried he would give up and say they need to order a part, but he stayed until it started working again. Robin Seubert is always very kind and helpful. I have a suggestion. We need people to help people shovel their cars out in winter. Im about to be 59 and not supposed to shovel heavy snow anymore but have to go to work. We are expecting a bad winter. I know maintenance wont do this, but we need a place to post looking for people in the community that would do it for money. I cant let my car sit there until a large snow melts like many seem to be able to do. Maybe this is something that can be looked into.
Really great value here. My one room apartment has everything I need, pet friendly, all appliances (including washer/dryer), huge closets and rooms, convenient trash and recycling drop off, plenty of parking, two pools and a gym. The kitchen is small in comparison to the rest of the apartment, and I can see some not liking that, but the set up works for me. The deck is nice and fits my hammock. Convenient to shopping and 695. Easy to pay my rent and utility costs.Moving in could not have been smoother. There were a number of repairs that were needed upon move it which is expected, and all my repairs were completed in a timely manner (1-2 days). Management checked in with me daily to make sure everything was being completed, and I really feel welcome here.
We have lived in various apts in this complex for 10 yrs. Our most recent apt is fantastic with a large den. Our biggest and only complaint is the incompetent, uncaring maintenance staff. Maintenance never fixes anything correct the first time and has to come back multiple times. Their work is below substandard and the multiple trips in and out of the apt to fix something that could or should have been fixed the first time is totally uncalled for.
Robin Seubert has made my stay here amazing in such a short time. I recently met her during an office visit. She was very customer service friendly!! Robin was engaged in making sure that my maintenance requests were completed correctly and in a timely manner. I use to have issues with getting my requests completed and done correctly but I have no issues anymore. Robin gets the job done right every request!!! I am very appreciative of her services and willingness to make a difference at this property! It makes my stay here even more pleasant than before! Also, Bryant and Octavia have always been pleasant and understanding since my son and I have moved in. The last management team was not as attentive to my concerns before Bryant was a manager. I am very confident in the current management and staff here at Skylark Pointe at this time. Please keep up the good work! You guys are stuck with us!! :-)
I moved in to this complex back in June. Mel, the leasing consultant was super helpful in answering all my questions throughout the process of picking our place and getting the lease finalized. Since then, the office manager Robin, has been great. She is very helpful and thorough with any questions or concerns regarding my apartment and also letting me know if any outside work is being done. Id totally recommend living here.
Moved into the community in May 2020. Ive had a good experience with the complex so far. Would strongly recommend living here. Management did a good job with handling my move in.
A few things can be Improved but overall the best place Ive ever lived. Ive Been here 10 years
I have lived here over a year. I have complained about my neighbors fighting at the loudest noise level possible fighting. They put a letter on their door, it didnt a thing. I cant sleep on weekends. Every fixture and appliance is the lowest grade available. This place is horrible. DONT Move here.
My daughter & I just moved in this month, and so far its been a great experience. My neighbors are friendly and it is a quiet neighborhood. Robin, the Resident Services manager provided the best customer service and was very helpful!
8/16/18 Walked in to look at a 2 bedroom apartment and was greeted by Ms. Octavia. Very lovely young lady. She show my sister, girlfriend and myself the apartment which was nice. Octavia went above and beyond with answering questions before we even asked and that was I must say great. She took her time showing the place and giving information of what can be done to the apartment and what can not. Also this place has 24hr workout room and 2 pools. The complex is big and very close to shopping and 695. If your looking here for an apartment I advise you to talk with Ms Octavia.
I have lived her since January 2017 and though it is not the worse place to live it is far from the best. In less than 7 days after my move in date I received documentation to appear in court for failure to pay rent not once but twice. I couldnt move in if I didnt pay the rent so this was extremely frustrating. I spoke with multiple people but it still took a few days to have this matter resolved. I had to use twitter as a means to contact the corporate office but the The corporate office is piss poor at customer service. When I attempted to file my grievance I was referred back to the property manager. There were a number of other communication or lack of communication issues. Maintenance is not the fastest at fixing things but they are not completely awful. The only reason I feel I get some level of good customer service from the staff is because of the number of issues that occurred when I first moved into the property and the amount of times I complained about those issues. The neighborhood overall seems to be quiet and is close to a number of stores plus the interstate is only a few lights away. I do know that Morgan Properties is not a great property management company from my experience and the experience of friends who have lived in their other locations. Do a lot of research before selecting this location. The rent is not excessive but it is not cheap and it includes nothing.
Today is my last day here at Skylark Pointe and I would say overall I enjoyed my stay. Customer service has never been an issue. Thank you Ty, Carmen and Bryant for the amazing service. In my opinion the rent charged is reasonable based on the amenities included. The community is quiet and serene for the most part. Especially with the majority of my building being dog owners. I haven’t run into any issues with the adolescence of the community or packages coming up missing. I have however had to deal with noise disturbances from one neighbor in particular for the majority of my stay. This neighbor like to play music into the wee hours of the morning on school nights, sometimes to 4am 😡. I was told by the office to call the authorities and I actually did once to no avail. Other than that issue I would recommend Skylark to my friends and family. Actually if I ever end up relocating back to Maryland I would come back myself.
I have given a negative review before - but Skylark has made a big change in customer service in the last month and it is VERY noticeable . Bryant has always been great and have been my go-to person but they also recently hired someone new named Robin who has been handling maintenance request . Between these two they have been very attentive and responsive via email and phone . I have had 3 maintenance request that have been turned around in less then 72 hours - and if it was not completed Robin and Bryant have called multiple times to update me on what the issue was and status . I am super happy Bryant and Robin work there - best customer service Ive had from this place since living there for a year . I have renewed my lease.
I just moved from Skylark Pointe, after 10+ years. Im 89 years old. There have been some ups and downs over this time, especially when management companies change.I first moved into a ground level, which was too dark and damp. Moved to a 2nd floor unit shortly after.Plusses: having a small washer dryer in my apartment is such a plus !Nice walk in closets in my 1 bedroom unit, plus hall and linen closets.Ive have been blessed to have frIendlyhelpful neighbours, some who lookout for each other. I like greeting the pets walked in the complex but wont miss the small dog next door that barks every time the main door opens.Large windows with plenty of light and cross ventilating from bedroom thru living room.Nice quiet neighbourhood, near shopping and beltway.Beautiful pool with new fireplace !Exercise room.Nicole, Bryant, Carmen and the team have helped keep me here as long as possible while I was waiting for a senior development placement. They have always been helpful, respectful and professional. Ill miss them.Minuses:Recent mice problem.Creaky floors very annoyingCeilings/wall repaired from a leak, but not aesthetically pleasing.Maintenance repair times have improved. My apartment gets so hot in the winter, even if the temperature is turned to lower degree.Garbage run over is a problem. Sometimes even if its not full tenants leave their food trash on they ground -.unless its from drive by dumpers.Overall, I would have stayed if I could have afforded it.
I’ve been living here for a while, and the apartment complex has changed hands at least three times. It was pretty good in the beginning, but has snowballed down the hill worse by each new owner. The current ownership, Morgan Properties, is the worse one to date. Most of the new tenants that they allow now are horrid. So bad that it’s caused many longtime renters to move. It’s obvious that there’s a lot of section 8 renters now, and this isn’t against all section 8 renters, but most of the new people are trashing up everything. Never had an issue with garbage in the parking lots, but when you see the actual neighbors throwing their food trash out of their cars before the enter the building is bad, but when they see you & don’t even care, that’s even worse. They have a small dog park now, so if you enjoy seeing mounds of dog sh*t everywhere, even on the sidewalk, then this is your place. Most of the new tenants are noisy, all hours of the night...but don’t waste your time contacting the leasing office about this. They don’t want to get involved, and it’s up to you to fix the problem. For $1200+ a month, you’d think you would get better service, but no.Bottom line is, look elsewhere.
Love it here.
Living here at Skylark has been nothing short of amazing, very welcoming community the staff is very professional & the actually care about each & every resident they try their best to go above & beyond to help you out even in tough times that’s what I call family!! Skylark is a great place to call HOME!
I’ve lived in this apartment complex for two months now and I am feeling like I’m being harassed. I’ve received calls from the leasing office and letters on my door threatening to force me to vacate during this terrible vivid-19 pandemic. And the complex has not returned my phone calls. I’ve never dealt with something like this before. And I can’t say it’s Morgan Properties because I’ve lived in other complexes ran by Morgan. It’s just this one.
Be wary of these reviewers...anytime you see a 1 star on anything you should ask yourself if the person is being truthful or just downright vengeful. My wife and I moved here recently and we are very happy. The community is great-it is surrounded by an old, established neighborhood with very respectable individuals that upkeep their property and surroundings. There is a lot of wildlife and foliage, we have a creek behind our unit with tons of squirrels and birds. In terms of maintenance, the office has been extremely diligent in service requests and ensuring that items were handled accordingly. I have never had any issues with neighbors, everyone seems extremely quiet and there are no issues with parties/drugs/college drama. One of the main issues for me when we were deciding where to live was safety. I have to say that I definitely feel safe here. The area is central to tons of shopping and right of the belt. There are tons of owners with dogs here and the staff are very accommodating to dog owners. Ask for Sharon, shes awesome.
Much better response from Front Office, Robin is very professional and curtious . She has been very responsive to my request. In the past, the maintenance request was very... very slow, i do not know why. I hope it continues.
My main issue with this place is that they refused to call me back or answer any of my emails when I would reach out to them with a concern. Upon my move out, I didnt understand why I was being charged for certain things and they wouldnt respond to me, making my departure from them a 2 month process. - I would never move back here because they dont have any respect for their residents.
I lived here for three years on two separate occasions - on Peabody 1st floor then Fitzgerald 3rd floor. I loved living here because of the location (close to 695 but not too busy) and the W/D in-unit. Bryant is hands down one of the best leasing agents to work with - he handled both my move-ins. My experience with maintenance was positive. There were a few issues with my dryer and ac and they were resolved within 7 days. After a rainy spring, I had ants and they were quick to call in pest control and I never saw them again (never had mice). My neighbors were friendly and I didnt have any major issues with noise - if youre sensitive to noise I would suggest picking an apartment on the 3rd floor. The dog areas were so-so as you cant do much about people not picking up after their pets, but there were dog stations that offered bags and trash cans for those who did. I rarely used the pools, but the few times I had family visit the kids had fun swimming there. As far as apartments go, I would consider this complex again if I needed to move back to the area.
Moved in Oct 2016. No complaints thus far. Maintenance is fast. Leasing office is professional and timely. Clean complex. Nice upgraded kitchens and appliances. Love it. Planning to renew.
Quality and fast service.
Robyn and Mel are the absolute best!! They are always there to fix whatever need or problem I have! Thank You guys! You rock!
This place is terrible. Maintenance blatantly doesnt care AT ALL. The entire parking lot is currently ice. No parking spots because everyone is parked crooked from sliding into their spot like some Olympic curling.AC blew out in the middle of summer and the solution was a one room portable unit for the entire apartment. The only way to get anything fixed or resolved is to call their corporate offices.Avoid avoid avoid!
I don’t understand why anyone would wanna live here lol. For way too much money a month you can live somewhere with outdated appliances, trash all over the street, oh and not to mention 2 different units were robbed in the same building on different days. The complex sucks.
I moved in about a month ago, I’ve had to call matainence SEVERAL times for things from a broken gassy oven to broken locks. They took about a week and a half to fix these problems. Robin from the leasing office is great. She makes sure your happy with your place and things are working as they should. While the apartment is nice and spacious, The area is extremely dark and I don’t like being on the first level like I thought I would. The longer I’m here the more things I find that DONT work or falling apart. My neighbor above me stomps around.
I have enjoyed my time here. No problems and the place is quiet.
I lived there from 2013-2015 and it sucked, we had a mice problem and the exterminator they hired would come in and say there was no problem, I had baby mice that would be in my sons toys. The office staff seemed fine but when I kept telling them there was still nice they didnt seem to believe me. Id advise to go somewhere else to live!
We lived there for two years, until our lease was over in December. We gave our notice to vacate within 59 days, and we were going to be moving in November 2018. They ask ask us to pay for Novembers rent (which we did, in full), and ask us to pay reduced rent for December, until the last day of the lease, even though we were already moved out.Things were already bad, like a flooding in the apartment that took around three weeks to get fixed (they only dry the floor and changed the padding of the carpet, they didnt worry about the mold growing in the closet), packages being stolen from the front door, maintenence crew getting in your apartment without previous notice, issues with the water outage, our entire belongings smelling like cigarette from the neighbors smoking in the apartment, etc...But this is when things went down hill:1. They tried to charge us a full months rent for December, had to call several times to get this issue resolved.2. I had a deposit that was supposed to cover the rent for December, but they still charged me a late fee for rent and they sent my information to court even though they already knew we were moving out.3. They charge me a $150 tub resurface fee even though when we moved in I requested the tub to be re surfaced in my moving in checklist and maintenance never showed up in the 2 years we lived there. So, they didnt resurfaced for us, but we had to pay for them to do it for someone else.4. They charged us for resurfacing the sink. Why? I dont know. I guess they thought it would be a good idea to charged us for both while they were at it.We took very good care of our home, and we paid our rent on time every single month, we were good residents, and after all Skylark Pointe tried to make an issue out of everything. They discounted almost 300 dollars from our initial deposit in fees that made no sense. Were very disappointed with the staff. They were always very disorganized, and example of that is that they never added my name to the lease. I moved in after my husband did, we paid a fee for it and even after we moved out, my name never appeared to be in the contract.I wouldnt recommend this place to my friends or family, I only would move here as a last resort.
I have lived here for 2 years. The area is nice, and the pool, gym and computer lab are nice to have. The office staff for the most part is friendly, but not very efficient. There is NO cell phone service if you have Verizon or most other major cell phone carriers, which they do not tell you during the tour. i cannot make any calls in my apartment unless i walk outside, which is a pain. The MAJOR problem is the maintenance issues. If you call maintenance they say they are fixing the problem but dont know what they are doing. they fix the same problem over and over because they do not fix the major issue, just band aid it so to say. I have called about the same 2 issues 5-6 times and they still are not properly fixed. it really is a shame, because for the price and location its great, but the maintenance issues are awful.
These apartments are RAT infested . and they are aware of the problem and will do nothing about it!! Its easy to get in these apartment with bad credit BUYER BEWARE
I came in looking for potential apartments in the future onThursday and I had Robin help me, she showed me the fitness center and all the benefits the property has to offer and I am really considering renting a apartment in the future. Great customer service!
Like many apartment complexes owned by large management companies, service is absolutely terrible once they get you in the door.Maintenance must come multiple times to fix things that have broken, were install incorrectly or contractors have ruined. Typically maintenance never ends up fixing the issue and we end up fixing it ourselves- out of our own pocket.Office staff is rude, talks down to you or just doesnt even answer your calls, emails or requests (Bryant and Sharon excluded, they are a pleasure to work with). Ty and Steve are worthless. Ty has even yelled unprofessional things at us!Throughout our stay at Skylark, we have experienced many floods in which they dont even replace the carpet or drywall- instead they plaster everything! No heat or hot water, an insanely large portion of our winters and no air conditioning (due to leaks) in the summer. Buildings are very poorly built and are a huge expense to heat and cool.Lastly, cant forget all the dog poop and dog barking all hours of the day and night. Overall we are very much looking forward to moving out!
The apartments are never maintained, you would thing with their prices they would bother to replace their blinds every so often... The oven in my apartment broke and it took them like 2 months to fix it because clearly they do not know what they are doing. Their maintenance people suck, they replaced the igniter in my oven 4 times!!!!! clearly that was not the issue!!! OH and the BEST PART... since my boyfriend and I moved in, the bottom lock of the door would not work, we asked them to come fix it and they did ( so they said) the door was not fixed. We could not open or close the bottom lock so we did not even attempt after a while, and then we got robbed... We came home and realized that someone broke in and took everything we had.........................After that they finally came and fixed the lock. They never replace anything in their apartments which is unfair because they charge you for anything and everything, their staff are not helpful especially the maintenance, and they overcharge like crazy for their shitty apartments. DO yourself a HUGE favor and never rent from here!!!!! OH AND FYI, their maintenance people are the ones who robbed us! That is a FACT, BEWARE
Currently live here and would not recommend this place to anyone. The customer service, and maintenance staff are all horrible. Maintenance will take days to address an issue and when they do address it, it’s never properly fix so you’ll end up calling again for the same issues. The apartment is mice infected. Been dealing with mice since the sign of my lease. And when you report it they have no care to resolve the issue. This is the first time Ive lived in a place where I am not even comfortable in my own home. My lease will soon be up and I’m grateful that this nightmare will soon be over!
Have been a resident for 9 months. Have found the care for the grounds, the apartments, and the residents to be excellent. It is also an excellent place to live for my dog Lily Ann. Would highly recommend Skylark Point as a wonderful place for your family and pets.
Very quick service! Robin is amazing and extremely helpful.
We liked it when we first moved in. Seemed to be a comfortable, safe community. Well, its not comfortable finding out about a murder 2 buildings down from us. Its not comfortable when the police are knocking on your neighbors doors every other day. Its not comfortable when your car gets broken into and ransacked. Its not comfortable when your buildings storage unit is broken into. Its not comfortable when youre treated like scum by management. Theyre going to chase away all their good residents like they did us. Or better yet - just avoid them in the first place!
Mice infested. No lie.. floors still have holes that a rat could travel. I will be glad to move. Im ready to moveLooking into all options. This place has housing violations dont move hereHonestly you will be unhappy
Horrible maintenance service, my a/c has not been working probably since it started getting hot. It works when it wants to and of course usually after normal hours and emergency maintenance NEVER responds. This is happening as I’m writing this. There are mice in the winter, floors and walls are PAPER thin it sounds like your neighbors are stomping on your head if you live underneath anyone. They are not worth the money even with the amenities or upgrades!
Honestly this has been a very nice place to live for the past 9 months, but maintenance appears to be very understaffed for the aging buildings.PROS:Location: right at the intersection of Harford and Joppa youre right off 695, very close to 95, and every grocery store, fast food chain, bars, restaurants, etc you could ask for are within a mile or 2.Pools: there are 2 pools in the complex that are well maintained and have very good hours unlike some complexes that are practically unusable if you have a full time job.Family and pet friendly neighborhood. The whole area is pretty quiet, not a lot of drama/crime around this particular area. But you can have plenty of fun.CONS:Maintenance: For about $1300/month for a 2 bedroom, I expect to have full use of my apartment. Aside from true emergency maintenance calls, expect to wait a minimum of 5 days before maintenance shows up, and possibly several more days after their first visit if the problem isnt easily corrected. Being an older complex, I have had to put in several maintenance requests so such a long wait time for frequent requests means a lot of time without a perfectly functioning home.HVAC: The HVAC systems in most of the apartments are very old, so thats a huge inefficiency right there, in addition to the way the systems are set up. The HVAC unit is in an uninsulated outdoor closest and whenever the system is not running you can feel a steady draft of hot air/fridgid air through the intake vent depending on the season. My BGE bill is huge for being a 2 bedroom apartment.
Horrible customer service and maintenance. I have lived here less than a year and the maintenance and management is a joke at this place. I have had multiple issues with maintenance from them showing up expectantly without any form of notice and leaving my apartment unlocked all day to my ceiling cracking and watermarks (I live on the 3rd floor so its an issue with the roof leaking) and them not being able to handle the situation to my smoke detector falling out of the ceiling and them claiming its not an emergency to be fixed. I have spoken with management as well as maintenance over the last two months and apparently neither are concerned about the safety or issues that I am having. I discourage anyone to move here unless you are okay with horrible management and maintenance services. Managements suggestion for me, if Im unhappy, break my lease and move....great advice.
Love living here!!
I paid my rent on time ! however they posted a court filing late fee saying I haven’t paid. Where did my money go I have my receipt I have paid and I have been trying to reach them for a day now and no one is answering the phone I left emails and voicemails. A notification says they are out of office but it’s normal business hours. Horrible customer service
Robin is quick to respond and has been so hopeful with maintenance requests!.She is definitely an asset! RK06
ROBBERIES, ARSON, VANDALISM, SKYROCKETED RATES, THEYRE ALWAYS IN OUR APARTMENT! Ive lived here for 10 months. Right after I moved in, everything I once enjoyed about the neighborhood disappeared. The neighborhood used to feel like a nice, homey neighborhood out in the suburbs. It was clean and peaceful. The tenants were all working professionals. Not anymore.1.) Theyre ALWAYS in our apartments! Weve gone the last two months with notices taped above our mailboxes that state, Maintenance will need access to your apartment from _____ until _____ to [fix broken pipes/ install backsplash/ clean out dryer vents/, etc.]. During this time, your pets will need to be secured. Okay, I get that they need to fix things from time to time. However, since January, there has not been a single week that we were not told maintenance would be in our apartments. They want us to lock up our dog all day while were at work, and then they end up not coming until several days later. Its intrusive. I feel like everything has to be spotless all the time. If I have a day off throughout the week, I have to make sure Im dressed and prepared for them starting at 8am. Its ridiculous.2.) None of the features they boast are usable. We used to have nice landscaping with a sign at the neighborhood entrance that said Welcome Home! It was sweet. They took all of that away and put out 5 or 6 tacky banners that say, Washers & Dryers in Unit! Remodeled Units Available! Pet Friendly! etc. The lawn I used to have picnics or lay out and read on is just a tacky advertisement now. Our neighborhood gym used to be open 24/7, but now its only open during business hours. We have two swimming pools that are only open when school is out for the summer, so theyre constantly full of kids. Adults cant use either of the pools in peace. We have a car washing station which is really just a flimsy garden hose that doesnt even have a pressure nozzle. We have those dog poop stations with bags & a waste bin, but they are always out of bags, so people leave dog crap all over the place. They dont clean the common areas as often, either.3.) They keep raising the rates! Right away, the new property company started a curb appeal overhaul, doing everything from replacing siding and roofing to adding fenced-in dog runs and a new playground (while not doing basic maintenance). It might sound good, but because theyre doing these improvements, they keep raising the rent. Its over $300/month more now than when I moved in less than a year ago.4.) The property management office doesnt handle problems at all; they just send out notices. In the last week, there have been 6 burglaries in our building and someone set the foyer on fire. Everyone in my building emailed the leasing office (because it happened at night and no one was there). The leasing office did absolutely nothing. They ignored our emails and our requests to have keyed entry to our buildings.I cant wait until my lease is up and we can move. Ill never rent from this property management company again.
Ive been here 7 months and had to call for maintenence service several times a month. Ty is rude and doesnt know how to take service calls. Maintenance takes a long time to cone out on calls and needs to fix things several times. I do my own extermination and even had to put up my own screen on a vent to keep snakes (you read correctly) from coming into my apt. They woo you in and then arent concerned about you while youre here. Im counting the days until I can move out. My advice DO NOT MOVE HERE.
I had a great experience living here besides having a AC unit stolen from outside the unit. However that’s the only thing I can think of that happened.
Been living here since September 2016 and all was well until I realized I had the neighbor from hell living below me-- from her loud toddler crying and screaming for long periods of time, loud conversations, her having sex and worst of all her extremely loud music. Just today @ 5AM, I was woken up by her loud music way before my own alarm.A formal complaint was filed against this tenant and no one knows if it was ever issued. Either way, she is violating the lease terms and I have brought this to the attention of property management and nothing has changed. I pay for my bedroom along with every other square footage of the apartment and I cannot even sleep in my own bed; I am sleep deprived and angry as hell with my living situation. My lease is up in August and I am trying my best to hold out until then, but from the look of things this tenant and her shenanigans may force me out sooner and that will be Skylarks lost. Good things do not last here at Skylark, it is quite obvious.Maintenance is supposed to respond within 48 hours of work orders that is false, more like weeks after re-submitting the same work order. I am over this place, it is time to go.
This used to be a nice place to live until Morgan Properties took over. Customer service is awful. They do not care. The place is being vandalized and so are cars in the parking lots. They have been letting anyone in here. Have had ongoing issues in the winter with no heat and hot water. They charge approx an additional $100.00 a month for sewer, trash and water which they dont tell you about upfront. It is sad to see such a property with a great location go down the tubes.
I helped my cousin move into this complex and decided to rent one here as well because i liked all the amenties for my kids. However, upon buying the place i was told that my water and sewage was NOT something i had to pay for. After getting the bill, and appproaching them about the issue, their response to me was i dont know who would have told you that but everyone here knows better I didnt reveal who had said it to my mother, fiance, and myself as she was sitting there with her eyes wide as all hell .. I am beyond livid with the amount of money and time ive spent fixing this place so its suitable for my family. Ive went to them and expresssed the issues with the apartment and nothings got fixed for months. I fixed it, and than maintenance shows up unexpectedly and just walks in when my kids and family are here ..no knock just walked in. I DO NOT reccomend wasting your money . Morgan Properties are a joke and they will say/do whatever it is for you to sign the lease. Ive been in touch with my lawyer trying to figure out what to do. Seriously hope people take time and read reviews, because this place is literally garbage. I wish i would have taken the time and did the research. I hope this review will help people not make the mistake i have .
This is hands down the worst apartment complex Ive EVER lived in. Cant wait until November when I can get out of here. Ive lived in skylark point for 7 months at this point. Only once have I ever been charged the correct amount for rent. Maintenance request take weeks, if there answered at all. Mice and bugs plague the complex but no one comes to spray no matter how many times you call. You can never get ahold of a person at the leasing center, always just an automated voice. Now ill have to take time off work to resolve these issues. I wouldnt recommend this apartment complex to my worst enemy. Wish I could give zero stars. Currently counting the days until November.
My fiancé, son and I moved into Skylark Apartments August 1st. With in a week or so we got to know most of our neighbors in the building. ALL of our neighbors had horror stories about this place. Apparently there was a windy thunderstorm that blew the main door to the apartment off the hinges MONTHS ago. As a unit, almost every tenant has put in multiple repair orders. The main door doesn’t properly close; so at night all the bugs are attracted to the hallway lights. When we open the front door at night, the nats bombard our apartment. My fiancé and I have both left message after message with maintenance for our own issues: our sink leaks, our dishwasher floods the kitchen, bottom rack of our dishwasher only has one wheel; and last but not least, come to find out the previous tenant had a MAJOR mouse issue; so now we have a major mouse issue. My fiancé and I were left to deal with the mice. We weren’t waiting. We spent our money on poison, traps, sprays, those things that emit a high pitched noise. He had to spend his time off work finding and filling every single mouse hole. All that to fix a problem we did not create. We pay $1200/month in rent and can not get a maintenance man over here to save our lives. All of our window screens are bent, broken or torn. The balcony was disgustingly dirty, 2 of our outlets don’t work. If you’re looking to move here, think twice, tripple check everything during the tour, and if you can do it, with out looking creepy, talk to some of the neighbors in the building and see what they think. We’ve been here a month and we haven’t had the chance to enjoy it one bit because we are still working on the mouse problem and my poor fiancé has to come home and fix something at least every other day.The only reason I gave this place 1 star is because I like the location, the apartment itself is pretty big, with a good amount of storage and our neighbors on Teacher Court were very welcoming and kind to us.
I have been at skylark pointe for five years and everyone treat me like family!! Especially Ms Robin!!
Very friendly and courteous staff÷ Sharon Bean was an awesome leasing agent!!! 🙌 Kudos to the Skylark Pointe Team..
DO NOT RENT HERE! They lie to get you in the door. Black mold everywhere. Do not fix basic repairs. Heating and cooling bills are through the roof. Constant leaks and saturated drywall.
Please beware of Morgan Properties! I currently live in Skylark pointe in Parkville( Baltimore ) md. I have had constant issues with my heat in my so called renovated apartment. I’ve sent several emails to the property manager and assistant manager and haven’t received a response yet eventho they gave me the okay to break my lease and they won’t hold me accountable. It’s still not in writing though. Whenever you contact corporate I just sent to a voicemail box. I haven’t even heard from the regional manager. If i could give this junk no stars i would. Don’t ever rent from them or under Morgan Properties!
They know their floors are thin but insist on having families with a bunch of little kids move on the third floor 💀. Can’t hear nothing but pitter patter all evening.
The Leasing Staff is AWESOME!! Sharon Bean and Bryant Washington are so helpful and a great asset to this community!!!
I have mixed feelings about Skylark. I enjoy living here and it is a perfect location for my husband and myself. The grounds usually look nice and the apartment layout is nice. The pool and fitness center are a great bonus and are clean. The apartments also recently have upgraded kitchens. Office staff is nice and friendly...unless you have a problem. However, Rent is messed up every month and we always receive late slips even though weve never paid rent late. The office staff always tells us that it was their fault and that the issue will be solved but it never is. Paying rent is almost impossible. Office staff becomes annoyed easily and doesnt want to solve any issue. They become condescending and give you the run around.Maintaince is a joke. Our heat was broken for 3 weeks in January and they would not fix it. They gave us space heaters and said that would do. Our neighbor upstairs had a huge flood which caused our living room ceiling to collapse. Our ceiling was not fixed for two weeks. The air quality from the exposed insulation become so bad that I had to go to the doctor for an asthma attack and an ear infection. The apartment was filth when we moved in. Carpet is stained and deeply dirty (more than a vaccum can fix), paint is peeling off the walls and the laminate is peeling. There are visible glue marks in the kitchen where someone did a horrible job trying to Re-glue the floor. If you have allergies/asthma then be aware that there are many triggers in the apartment. I wouldnt discourage anyone from moving to Skylark; however, I would say be aware that it isnt what it seems and their are many problems with the management and costumer service.
Great place to live, maintenance here is awesome
Rats! Rats! Rats! We moved here over the summer and everything in the apartment was poorly put together. Blinds falling apart, toilet coming loose, and the air conditioning broke 3 times this summer. Not to mention the mice that run through your apartment claiming territory like its their home. Not to mention thestaff doesnt like to answer the phone and brush you off when come into tbe office. Needless to say not worth the money.
They emailed me about my review, asked them can I get out this lease no response!!All I ask if u still check this place out after my true and honest review.Tip: When they quote u on the rent ask them is this the total amount of rent you will be paying each month, if they say yes make them quote that and mark it in ur lease!!My rent is literally a different amount every month I never know how much it will be until that bill they send out each month comes, ask them about that extra bill!!To Management you all scammed the wrong person and until I move out of this trash of a property I WILL CONTINUE TO POST MY HONEST EXPERIENCE LIVING HERE!!**Update **January 2018From the property company for whom I have left several messages with not 1 call back, to them liars and incompetent people in the rental office, this is beyond the worst place I ever lived .I didnt even post about how I live in a so called Renovated apartment, not only did I not have heat in November my stove literally stop working and these folks did NOT come fix neither until after I got nasty with them and threatened to get a lawyer!!!Run FAR FARRR away from this place!!! I sure am when my lease is up.** Management ** Yall really need to spend more time fixing this garbage of a property instead of reading and responding to reviews!!Moved in the end of April 2017 cant wait to my lease is up to move out. Nice appliances but thats about it this place is a dump. Floors crack, walls thin. Still waiting for my patio to be power washed after living here now for over three weeks which everyone agrees it should have been done BEFORE I got my keys it has bird poop all over and its disgusting. However I did get a voicemail from the office letting me know the cost to wash my patio is to expensive and there still looking. Numerous things where wrong before I moved in including I paid for my accent walls to be painted BEFORE I got my keys and they where not . Also they dont tell you they control your air and heat which means it can be 40 degrees outside and you have no heat and I found that out cause I called emergency maintenance one morning it was 40 degrees outside and he informed me. If there where no stars this place would get it. I lived in Continental Reality for years never had any of the problems I have had in 3 weeks of living here. Lease at your own risk this place definitely not worth the moneyUpdate: This place is worse than the worse, I just received a bill from them for Trash, Water, Sewage, Electric charge but wait I pay my own BGE ..I was under the impression all that was included in the rent.My air does not work maintenance has been here 2X already and still does not work.My patio was power washed although I still have bird poop and a filthy screen door..May 24 2017 will be a month I been living here and I am already looking at new places and possibly break my lease.Be weary of the 5 star reviews I would definitely love to meet these ppl and talk about there experience vs mines.
Current resident and i can say for the time that i have been here, I would advise for anyone that is interested to please look else where!!! Not only do persons not really clean up after their dogs much of the time, you will also have loud neighbours or maybe their children decide to bang on all the doors in your building at all crazy hours until you have to yell at them, also beware it is quite easy for others to climb your balcony to reach the one above and almost give you heart attack while you sit in your livingroom, besides this depending on your maintanence problem they take forever to fix it unless it deals with leak. And I am not even finished!!! For place that supposedly do background checks detectives had come to my residence looking for missing person that used to hang there before I had ever move in!!! Things get even worse!!! Not only is billing inconsistant because of strange fees that were supposedly forgot to add on shows up, but this place is not immune from crime as there was recent murder in the building across from mine. Aaaah did I also forget to mention it is hard to reach anyone in the office and even if you decide not to renew your lease they try to rope you in longer, because even if you have mail the non renewal to corporate address...since you know no where on the paper does it say to return the paper to the office...this do not count as notice!!! So please for goodness sakes look else where if you want peace of mind!!!
The worst. This company refuses to fix AC unit for over a month despite repeated requests to have the unit repaired. They have responded that they think we should be happy with the situation as it stands, and they have other problems to deal with. DO NOT RENT HERE.
DONT RENT HERE ...They property manger and leasing office is very unorganized. You fax forms over and they cant find them. The property manager told me maybe its in the wrong stack. They are very harassing and they make up excuses not to fix or replace your appliances. My oven hasnt stayed heated since I moved here in August.
THERE ARE NO LOCKS ON THE EXTERIOR DOORS OF ANY OF THE BUILDINGS. A group of kids who live on Throgmorton Road regularly trespass in the New Hall Court buildings and either steal or destroy packages.
I have to say myself and my wife moved in around 3 months ago ladies and gents on day one the front locks were not operational i mean they didnt lock or work, my move was delayed because maintenance couldnt come back until the next day, he didnt have the equipment on the day i picked up my keys to fix the issue, so we had to leave the door open all night, the blinds in one room were hanging accept one thing, one side was up the other wasnt attached, finger print paint is everywhere, but other than that nice place :) ha Ha oh yeah the kids play ball in the parking lot - (dangerous) - but every things fixed now i give the crew overall 3 stars ....... i like the place overall and the location
Bryant in the office is always on top of everything and really shows you he cares about any situation you bring to him. Ive been here three years now and cant be more impressed by the office service of everyone who works there.
