Went in to have my battery, alternator tested. Zach came out within 5 minutes, and began the test. With car running his machine ran the test and it came out all was good. He also tested my headlights, the high beams hadnt worked in 6 years. But it was because I wasnt switching the control to on. He showed me the correct way and now my high beams come on.i need a new bulb on the left front. I give a 5 star for service. And Zach and the service manager were great! Ill be back!
I had a 10 minute repair job. The service was EXCELLENT. Everyone was courteous and helpful. I could not have been treated better.Thank you Bruce, Zach, and Merrick.
Want to thank the staff and Bruce for being so kind and helpful
Terrible experience!!! I waited 4hrs with a mask on in the lobby for the unpleasant manager name Bruce to tell me the machine to do the coolant flush was broken. On top of that his attitude was like oh well. My take is that they were closing and didn’t feel like doing the job. The time I was there sitting in the Lobby he was unpleasant to other customers as well. I will never come here again and will not recommend anyone to come here. I thought your mantra was 5 star service. Well I give it a negative 5 stars. Bruce should go home and get a new attitude if he wants to work and serve the public. If you want Pep Boys 5 star service, go to the beach location where they do it right! I should have went there instead!
Completely tried ripping me off by saying my master cylinder messed up witch made it leake into something else and messed it up... I went in to check my brakes. Thats all. After second opinion. Nothing was found wrong at all. And im still driving on this broke master cylinder ect. With no issues. And saved myself 900$ due to second opinion thank goodness. Ill never go here again.
I rarely take my cars anywhere to be fixed or serviced but with the Navy base self service auto center shut down because of COVID, I decided to try having someone do it for me. Mistake! They overfilled my wife’s car with at least a quart and a half too much oil. I now have a code for oil pressure on her car possibly because of this but not sure. I also had to remove some of the oil which isn’t easy on your garage floor. Oil change 101 is to check the oil after you do an oil change! So frustrating! If you can’t depend on them to change your oil, how can you depend on them for anything else! Sadly this place isn’t the only ones that can’t do oil changes. The Goodyear shop cross threaded my oil plug many years ago. Lesson learned, just change your own oil.
Pretty much the same experience as everyone else here recently. Went in for an oil change, was told brakes and rotors needed to be changed, for 1300. Paid for a crazy expensive oil change, went home, took off the tires and looked at the brake pads and rotors, both looked and felt fine.
They do quality work and stand behind it. The staff is a bit dry however. A smile never hurt anyone.
Disappointing and dishonest! We went in for a tire rotation and oil change with an appointment. We were told when we got there that appointments dont really mean anything and it would be several hours. They called within the hour to tell us we needed new brake pads, brake rotors and brake fluid, new air filters and that our battery was bad. They quoted us nearly $1200. We declined and asked just for the original request of oil change and tire rotation so we could take a closer look at these issues before agreeing to such a big expense. We had all the issues checked out elsewhere with someone we trusted and none of the things needed repairing. They only care about upselling and making extra bucks off their customers. The dishonesty is appalling and we will never be back.
Had a flat, stranded, with a dig in the car on a warm day. Entered building with no mask due to me having a medical condition. Employee in lobby with a mask asked me if I had a mask, said no and the reason, he said have to have a mask for service, I said sir, can I get one from you to be helped, Im desperate. He said rudely they dont provide masks! I said, I will find help and service elsewhere and never return after I have purchased 3 full sets of tires from them I left on a flat and went to Tire Kingdom and received excellent service and a repair for free! Pep boys should be out of business!!!
Quoted me 1200 over the phone to do a break job! The local Toyota dealer was cheaper by $400. This seems like they want to take advantage of tourist. Highly recommend getting a second opinion and quotes. Total rip off.
Made an appointment for 8am got a call they had 3 other 8 am appointments with 1 mechanic.. why allows appointments if theres no reason to? The 4 stars is from past experiences the lack of 5th is from the bad appointment system.
Worst Customer service ever and they took 4 Hours to change a car battery that died 6 month later after I bought it. Dont recommend that place.
Picked up a nail in my Pontoon trailer tire coming back from Cape San Blas. Stopped by this store to get it patched as I didn’t think it would make it back to Alabama. The staff was super helpful, the store was clean, and the bathroom immaculate (in a tire repair shop Of all places!). The guy at the front desk, Zach was super helpful and great. I highly recommend him and this store.
Great service very professional
My daughter has had a good experience with this company. I have not
They are way too interested in up-selling. I dropped off my wifes car for a rotation and balance. They asked me about an oil change. An hour later they called and said the shocks were bad, the CV axles were bad and the exhaust was leaking. $400 each for rear shocks, $250 each axle. They also said they couldnt rotate the tires because of cupping due to bad shocks. The cupping was understandable, not going to argue. However, I left, bought new shocks for $55 each and replaced them in 30 minutes. I bench checked the old shocks and found no issue. Pep-boys failed to properly balance the tires apon initial installation. That was the cause of the cupping. This location didnt do the initial install so I cant blame them, but they should have caught it and not blame the shocks. If I would have just said okay fix it, I would be out over a grand. Not very happy! CV axles are fine, just needed new boots btw.
I got quick service by a well informed associate who was also very polite. Good prices for good quality tires and services.
Fixed a/c issure early.
I dropped off my car to get new tires and was told it would take about an hour and thirty minutes. I came back in an hour and fifteen minutes and they had not even started on my car. When I went inside the employee behind the counter was flippant about the gross misjudgment of time on his part. Will never use this business with the worst customer service I’ve experienced!
Dont even carry parts anymore
Out of town and needed a valve stem replaced and wouldn’t do it.
Best shop on the beach. Fast and friendly and always do a great job.
Went in for new tires on. Price was good, however I asked for and was charged for an alignment and a tpms rebuild. The car still doesn’t drive straight, and my tpms light is still on. Upon calling back, I was informed that their alignment only covers certain portions of the suspension system, and that my tpms batteries were probably dead. Great work guys.Next time I’ll go somewhere where the mechanic is upfront about issues and limitations, instead of hoping the customer doesn’t notice
Dishonest management. We took our vehicle in for tires, oil change and alignment. We were told it would be finished by 1pm... we dropped it off at 830am... i called at 130pm and was told it was the next vehicle in line. Okay, thats alright. My wife received a call from them at 330 stating that she needed rear brakes and that it was metal on metal and unsafe to drive. She informed the salesman that she would have to ask her husband (me). When she called me, I promptly called and spoke with the salesman and informed him that the work we requested was all that we needed and to do nothing more. He agreed.I took an inspection mirror and a flashlight with me when we went to pick up the vehicle about 430. After a quick inspection of the brake pads, it was clear to see that at least half of the wear surface was still intact. When I walked in the store, I informed the salesman that the technician that made the assessment had lied, the salesman quickly and matter of factly informed me that the shop manager had checked behind the tech and substantiated the claim.I took the liberty to inform him that it was very apparent that the manager was also a liar. Little did the know that I am a mechanic (for over 20 years) and had my own auto repair business for nearly 10 of said years before we relocated to Lynn Haven. He preceded to blow smoke by telling me that they had measuring devices that made the determination. (FACT- New brake pads have roughly .5 inches of wear surface. My brake pads had just over .25 inches of wear surface left.) I laughed, shook my head and said whatever. Please understand, it is this kind of deceit that runs all too rampant in the corporate world of money-driven service. I despise being blatantly lied to and then have a counter clown try to justify this type of horse hockey game they want to play. I will do my best to avoid this chain and I highly recommend you do the same. It will save you money in the long run, and you will be able to avoid the smoke and mirrors experience in the process. Good luck! ✌🙂
Super nice folks no charge to change tire with spare $25 to patch old tire if possible. Highly recommend.
Went on Sunday had a flat on road thay told me it wold be 2hrs.be for the wold fix my tire.I never have had that happen i had to go somewhere else and I had to bay a new tire. ???.
Well, they were super fast in doing the oil change and really liked that they found our AC problem with a quick diagnostic check. However, I have recently found out that the AC check they did should have been a free test and we were charged for some other test that they DID NOT perform. I feel ripped off, and in light of the current pandemic I feel like this was a type of price gouging. I will never go to this location again. Ill stick with my hometown Pensacola location from now on. They have always done us right!!!
Mike was awesome! Great service and they really care about making sure things are right on your vehicle!
I used to love it. Got my car repair there new and used it to purchase all of my detailing supplies and accessories. Unfortunately, hurricane Michael destroyed the building. I was hoping that they would rebuild but recently the building was demolished in there is no word as to whether they will rebuild! Just another casualty of the storm and part of our new reality!!!!
Took a. Brand new car too get battery and they hooked up wrong and burnt up the wire harness and had to tow to dealership which cost thousands. I honestly do not recommend this place tap a star huh but I will
I called and scheduled an appointment for my lunch break, 11:00.Upon arrival I was told it would be 2 and a half hours before they would be able to change my oil. I reminded him that I had an appointment, he replied we take cars first come first serve. Do not plan on them honoring an appointment.
Pulled in with a bad tire and, although they were understaffed, they helped me get the tire aired up and on my way at no charge!
Manager, Bryan Revis, took care of me when I was in a hurry. Knowing that I was from out of town trying to get back home he did the work himself. It got me out as soon as possible. Great job.
Bill Sumner, the manager, gives the best customer service that my husband and I have had. He went above and beyond what was expected to make sure we were happy. The staff members, Chris and Cody that worked on my husbands car did an excellent job. They stayed well past closing time to have his car completed so that he could pick it up. Friendly, courteous and efficient. We highly recommend this particular Pep Boys and will send all our family and friends to work with Bill. B.J. and Mary Jeffery
Got a great price on my tires and the installation was fast.
We bought 500+ dollars in good year tires a few months ago, we bought road hazard, we brought it in with a nail It today and they refused to fix it without reciept. Even if their computer was lost from the storm how do they expect me to keep a reciept that long. I will not be buying anything ever again from any of their locations. I called corporate they said tough luck.
I called to find out a wait and was told to come over. Drove straight there (10 min). Told an hour wait before they could start. 2 hrs later they hadnt even begun. I wish I hadnt wasted that much time. They were courteous about it, but upfront knowledge would have saved me time.
Front brakes were making a subtle scraping noise. I was near the Pep boys on 23rd (the one in the Hobby Lobby parking lot). They estimated it would cost $500+ to fix my car because I would need to get several things fixed on it...when they saw my lack of interest in paying $500 for what I thought should be a simple brake pad update, they said it could cost less depending on what they find. I told them I wanted to wait (I did this mainly because I didnt believe they could possibly know that Id be needing multiple things done to my car when they hadnt even done an inspection yet!). They suggested I should at least do the free brake inspection because it may be cheaper and could even be unsafe. One of the guys even tried to guilt trip me about running into his mom on the road. I agreed to the free brake inspection...(why not, at least I could get an accurate quote). The next morning they called and told me it would cost $501. I told them I would have to get it fixed at a later time. When I showed up to pick up my car they charged me $16 on my way out the door for the free brake inspection since Id decided not to get my car fixed there right away.....only theyd conveniently failed to mention that when I agreed to get the free brake inspection.Shelton service in Lynn Haven checked it out for me the next day; they said there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with the car aside from a need for new front brake pads which he changed for $140. My car is functioning perfectly now. Honesty goes a long way in this business, and Im so glad I asked for a second opinion.
I went in to PEP BOYS to get my flat tire taken care of. Even though it was close to closing time, they still took Fantastic care of my truck. They replaced 2 tires and stayed past their closing time without any complaint. Bill, Mikkel, and Cody are wonderful. Mikkel and Cody took the time to show/explain to me what happened to my tire. All three are very, personable, respectful, and professional. What a dynamic team and I am truly impressed with thier customer service and work ethic. I will definitely be coming back and I am highly recommending this PEP Boys establishment to everyone!
Really slow and rude service!
I had the need for several sets of tires and other auto service needs at the same time. The employees here at the Pep Boys Tire Center were great. Carrie was outstanding at helping me in and out in an efficient and professional manner. The tire deals were great, saving me money on quality tires. Cody pointed out several other mechanical issues that needed to be addressed before they became safety issues for me and my family. The manager even gave me a ride home one time when I did not have one. If you are looking for professional tire and auto service at a great price this is the place. I will continue to service all my cars, trucks, and trailers here.
We love this Pep Boys! My husband and I regularly take our vehicles to this location. The customer service and professionalism of all the friendly and charismatic staff exceeds all expectations. Its never a dull moment! As the manager, Joseph Price offers a quality, honest experience that has ensured we stay loyal customers. So, go visit the Boys today, and ask for Boog, hell take great car of you and your vehicle!
I had 4 tires and front end work done at this Pep Boys store on Friday, 1 May 2015. I Highly recommend this store. Bill Sumner, the store manager, was honest, straight forward, and more than fair in his pricing. Cody Middleton, the technician that performed the work, went well above and beyond to ensure that all front end work was spot on correct. Its very refreshing to have an honest, fair, and pleasant experience when having auto repairs accomplished. Thanks Bill & Cody! I appreciate your integrity!!I was once again Impressed by the customer service, honesty and integrity that Bill Sumner and his staff provide at the Pep Boy Location!! I had service accomplished and 4 tires put on my wifes car today and could not be happier with the entire experience! I will continue to highly recommend Bill and his staff! Thanks Bill!!
I went to Pep Boys on 2/21/15 to get tires put on my jeep, a front end alignment, and an oil change. The staff here was very friendly and the prices were awesome! I would recommend this facility to any one. If you want great prices and great customer service, this is the place to go. Thank you so much Mikkel for your awesome customer service.
Mike always gives me excellent service
Its been quite some time that Ive been given this kind of customer service. It reminded me of when I was a kid, and Id go to my neighbor and ask if he could help me fix my bicycle. Bill, the manager, made it clear he wanted my business, but he earned it with his professionalism and attitude. When most places would have turned me away 20 minutes before closing, Bill recognized my situation and got my car on the lift ASAP without any complaint. I am very grateful for his kindness, and hes definitely earned all of my future business. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the other Pep Boy locations in the area.
Originally had planned on going to another Pep Boys for my tires, as my husband suggested, until I read their reviews and decided to drive further to find another Pep Boys with better reviews. I WAS NOT disappointed in making the choice to drive further as I was very impressed with the treatment and customer satisfaction that Bill Summer, Dan Wilson & Chris McClendon provided me. I highly recommend using them and will do so myself in the future. Very friendly and made sure my needs were attended to even though they were short staffed. They have my vote for excellent customer service and caring!
I had a particularly bad experience with this business. After having a tire shredded by something in the road north of town, I had to take my car in for service over the weekend. They were run-flats, and had to be shipped in after a few days (no big deal, understandable). I negotiated a price with an employee named Chad, which included a reduction to offset towing costs. The employee was courteous and worked to make the sale. After picking up my vehicle the manager, Johnny Knox, informed me that they wouldnt honor the price reduction because we [the store] dont do that... Im the boss, and I dont do that. The invoiced price did not match what I negotiated over the phone. And finally, he tried to make me sign their indemnity waiver post-sale in the parking lot (which I stubbornly dated to indicate its lack of legal effect). Throughout this, the manager was flippantly rude, and complained how we hadnt followed -their- procedure (like how I didnt pay a deposit for special order tires, which I would have done if theyd asked, and they had my car as collateral, anyway).Do yourself a favor and go across the street, or anywhere else really. Until the management is fired, this place deserves to go out of business.
I am a small car dealer and sometimes use outside shops. If you are looking for a friendly, knowledgeable and personal experience... Trust these guys. Bill hires good mechanics and managers that are friendly and courteous. You dont feel like they just want your money...
Joseph Price and his staff definitely go the extra mile to ensure complete customer satisfaction. From two sets of tires to new rotors and brakes always received the lowest prices with the highest standards of professionalism. Not being a mechanic myself it really helped to have a technician like Boog to explain problems on my level. thanks again and I will remain a loyal and satisfied customer.
My boyfriend used to go here all the time and said he liked it.. I finally took my car for an oil change and they tried to tell me that my car needed a $400 repair (which it definitely didnt) and there was no way around it. Unfortunately for them, Im not stupid. So I left it there for a week and a half or so trying to figure out what to do with it and eventually had it towed away to a different place. They fixed it with no problem. When I went to pick it up, they informed that the window was down when they got it off the tow truck. I get into my car and it looked like someone drove it through a lake. Pep Boys left the window down on my car for almost 2 whole weeks. I dont think I will ever be able to get the mold smell out of my car now. If THAT wasnt bad enough, I went back to Pep Boys to tell them what happened and they were extremely rude. I was angry and distraught, yes, but I was relatively calm and was not shouting. I sternly told them what happened and said that they need to clean it out today because I dont have the money to take it elsewhere and have it detailed. Not only did he refuse to do so, but also threatened to have me escorted out of the building. Now Im not one that is good with conflict. I actually ended up crying by the end of our conversation from all the anxiety and he told me the best that he can do is review the security cameras tomorrow morning to make sure it was their fault and then they will call me back and figure out what to do with it. Well, Im sure by the time they decide to get around to it, my car will already be growing its own ecosystem so maybe ill discover a new species of mold and get lucky, eh?
I am cancer patient with an older car and cant afford a new one right now. The guys at this location were so nice to me, they checked my car over to make sure my car was in good condition and safe to drive to my doctors appointments and to Church. Other Shops might have taken advantage of me because the age of my car, but Pep Boys only charged me for what really needed fixing. They worked around my schedule and did it quickly. I wouldnt hesitate to have them work on my car again any time. The Manager Bill was my Guardian Angel!
I have been getting tires for the car and truck for a while, and got some coupons for 45 and 20 dollars. Then the hurricane and I cant use them. They say that they expired. Will they honor them?
They did work to the front of my truck and didnt install all the hardware back on my truck. They didnt put the brackets back on the brake line and routed the brake lines the wrong way. I got a year warranty on labor and it wasnt one month and I had problems with my brakes because of the missing hardware and the way they routed the lines. Cost a $1000.00 to get it fixed the right way and they refuse to stand by there work or pay for the repairs that was caused by there work. I would definitely get my work done somewhere else!
Heath the manager, was awsome! I thought I needed just one tire, which was cracked pretty bad. He personally took me in the shop and showed me the other tires and stressed the danger of how bad they were. I didnt realize until he showed me in detail. Especially, because I work out of town and drive a lot of miles. He gave me a great deal on 4 tires and I feel good about the decision I made and am thankful for the advice and concern for my safety! Never have had as a personable experience as this one! I will recommend everyone I know to come see Heath!
Horrible customer service and very unknowledgeable.
These guys are awesome! I didnt really expect much out of a chain auto shop, but Ive been here three times now and have never left disappointed. The manager and the rest of the staff have a unique balance of jokester and professional that makes waiting for a service more enjoyable than those other places.
I initially went to the Pep Boys store at 821 W 23rd st in Panama City Fl to get a wheel alignment. After 3 attempts, they just could not get it right. I finally decided to try the Pep Boys across the street at 712 W 23rd st. Best decision I ever made. Store manager, Joseph Price and his staff were very helpful in solving my alignment problem. Mechanic Jeff, found the problem right away and informed me on what I needed to complete the job. I dont usually compare apples to oranges but Pep Boys store #1528 has the best staff and most knowledgeable mechanics in Panama City Fl.
Excellent service. Nice waiting area.
Mikkel and Sean worked very hard to get my vehicle back on the road safely. The manager, Bill, was kind and courteous. Great place to do business! I will definitely be back.
They got us in and out real quick! Buy 3 get 1 free on tires.
Great staff! Very fair prices, trustworthy! I highly recommend this location.
Great service from a very knowledgeable, professional, courteous, VERY helpful, and friendly group of mechanics. Moved here from the North 14 months ago. Second time my car was serviced here (712 W 23rd St) First time here sold me as I was treated with such respect and dignity . Thank you everyone for your expertise, especially Makel for going above and beyond.
Once again, pleased with service provided. Brian, Bruce, and Radke, made waiting on car repair professional yet pleasant. Pep Boys Service has yet to disappoint. Will recommend.
Everything from new tires, oil changes and just this week a much needed brake job - Ive had an excellent customer service experience each time. Always greeted with a smile and speedy service!! Thanks to the manager, Bill for everythibg you do above and beyond.
This pep boys is an amazing shop to have most kinds of repairs done, I drive all the way from Ebro to come here because I know Im gonna get great service every time. Mikkel is awesome, very nice guy, and Nick and Cory are great service techs, I would recommend this shop to anyone!
The staff and management is fantastic at this location. Not only are they knowledgeable but theyre friendly and provide excellent customer service. Frankly, I am weary of Pep Boy shops because the last few times I visited one (out of town) the work was half-assed. My visit at this location has definitely restored some of my faith in the franchise. I will be back to this location.
I brought my buick regal in for an oil change. I watched them over tighten the drain plug bolt to the oil pan and in doing so they stripped the bolt to where no bolt would seal the pan. I was then informed that I was going to need a new oil pan, which they would not take responsibility for and which would cost over five hundred dollars. They asked me to leave my car overnight and mind you I came in for an OIL CHANGE. Save yourself, do not come here, I am currently negotiating with my lawyer and corporate attempting to find a resolution, but in the end Im still going to suffer as they took a car in perfect condition and rendered it inoperable. Save yourself.
Quickly found the issue and fairly priced
I went into the store yesterday to get an oil change. The staff was very funny, friendly, and extremely helpful. The service was beyond than what I expected. Hats off to the store manager Bill and his staff at the Pep-Boys located on 712 West 23rd St. I would highly recommend being a patron to this store.
Terrible attitude of one of the so called mechanics was totally unnecessary..WILL NOT BE BACK
The manger Mr. Joseph and his supporting cast Ace, Boogie and rest of the team know how to take care of customer Excellent customer service and job done right. Keep up the good work. Tell em D sent you I got about 5 cars in the system lol !!!!!!
Went to this location after work to get a oil change done, i notice that there was only one car in the garage . After 30 min waiting they didn’t even bring my car into the garage everyone was just walking around staring at me.Never going back again guess I have to go to Nissan now.
I needed new tires, a front end alignment, brakes, and rotors. I took my Honda to Honda service center for the brakes and rotor, but my girlfriend suggested I go to Pep Boys for tires and alignment. I have had a bad experience with the Pep Boys at 821 W. 23rd when it took them 40 min to change out a battery and tell me my brand new serpentine belt was showing serious signs of wear and tear. I reluctantly went to this Pep Boys. Bill the manage knew my girlfriend by name (because she goes there for everything) and he was knowledgeable, friendly, and so very helpful! I told them that I needed to leave for a trip by a certain time and they made sure they met my time restriction. I would pay extra to have this kind of service anywhere else, but Bill and the guys make it standard! As long as I live in Panama City I will will take my car here and suggest that others do the same. -Chris D-
These people dont want any business. I came to get an oil change and brakes and they talked me out of It. They are too busy to take on anymore work.
Great customer service. Very professional. Car was ready when said it would be. Great new tire prices.
Eric was very nice! I’m very pleased with the service I received today.
I had flat over the weekend and I waited until Monday to have it replaced because my warranty didnt open up until Monday. After I spoke with my warranty and they had me come in to pep boys. There are literally two locations on the same street and I had called the opposite one and ended up coming into this store by mistake. (Im from Georgia Im here on vacation) well when I came in to have it replaced I told them what I needed (notice they are the exact same thing just two locations) they send me across the street because they didnt know what I needed and it was best I went to the other location. They didnt try to accomadate me they just sent me on my way on a spare in the pouring rain with a child. Rude and lazy bad customer service! So I went across the street and they took care of us right away instantly! If I were you guys I would just go across the street. Seems like the other location genuinely cares!!!!
Came in for an oil change, left with a belly full of laughter! Great staff, quick service. Will be back for sure
Friendly knowledgeable staff helped me choose great tires and they installed them in a jiffy.
Really surprised at the great service considering bad experiences with Pepboys elsewhere, thanks to manager Bill Sumner. I had some car issues that would take some time, and he walked me through it, gave me a good deal, and most importantly -- drove me, himself, home because the car repair was going to take several hours. He really went above and beyond, and I will be coming back because of him.
I have been going to this location for years. I called yesterday spoke with Ace I needed tires for my truck he quoted a price and said it would $100 off if I purchased 4 tire and I would receive a $50 mail in rebate.. So I arrived at 3:00 pm the service manager told me that they were finishing one jeep and they had one more car ahead of me. My truck requires the large lift because of it size.He told me it would be about a little over an hour but I was next in line. Well from here I watched the techs in the garage about 4. Of them BSing smoking their Vapes all gathered around and not doing to much. The Service manager wasnt much better he would walk into the garage and would do about the same as the Techs. I watched and timed how long it had taken to replace the tires on a jeep just before me 1hour 20 minutes. Then it was my turn about a half hour after the jeep was finished my truck was next. It sat on the lift for 45 minutes before anyone looked at it. By this time there were only 2 techs left and they worked on other cars that came in after me. finally they stared on my truck and it was finished about 1 hour. From the time I came I and the time I left it was 4 1/2 hours and I didnt receive the $ $50 rebate. But it was a fair price for the tires. You need better service managers that would at the least keep you informed. Dont tell me its going to take an hour when actually it had take 4 1/2 hours. You have to do better than this to keep me as a customer.
Thank you Heath for wonderful experience as a first customer here in PCB. Your attention to detail and hospitality was above and beyond.I will definitely recommend this Pep Boys to others.Have a fabulous dayMellissa Derhovanesian
They arehonest and do great work
We have taken out vehicles to Big10/PepBoys for 25 years and never had a poor experience until today. I brought in our Tundra because the brakes were squealing, I asked the service guy if they would give me a brake job and to let me know if I needed any rotors turned or anything else. He told me that they would check the brakes and rotors and let me know. I had lunch at firehouse subs, I came back maybe 90 minutes later and the truck was finished. I asked, so the rotors were ok? He said YES and charged me for pads. I drove off and noticed a squeal but I figured the pads may just take time to wear in. I drove it daily for 3 weeks and the squeal never went away even when I didnt apply the brake, then I began to hear a grinding/scrubbing sound from the rear instead of the squeal. I took the truck back to have them see what went wrong today. Ross, showed me that the rear pads had not been changed, just the front pads, this caused the rotors to be destroyed. I asked why on earth the person who changed the pads didnt tell me that we needed rear pads, Ross was honest and knew that this should have never taken place. I called and spoke with the area manager who called the store to find out what could be done to rectify the issue. I waited for a while and then my mother calls the store to see what is going on with the truck, Ross told her that the store would take care of the parts and labor. When I arrive to pick up the truck, I find out that all of the rotors and pads have been replaced, over $650 worth. I only expected them to replace the rear rotors for the mistake by the mechanic, I was amazed that Ross would go well above and beyond to correct the dispute, Im really inspired by the outcome. However, he did seem aggravated and told me that he did it but did not believe that it was fair or the fault of the staff because his associate told him that when I had the pads changed 3 weeks earlier, I was told that the truck needed brakes and rotors all the way around. That made me instantly mad that he would tell such a lie, plus the fact that it was not written anywhere in the recommended services from my previous paperwork. For a service writer to lie over a mistake that the technician made simply amazes me. I understood why Ross was upset, why wouldnt he believe his colleague? I used to be in law enforcement, who am I going to believe or support, my fellow officer or the suspect? So I understand his view, Im probably just a customer who made this all up. I told my mother that they claimed that I knew all the brakes needed to be overhauled yet I chose to only buy one set of pads, my mom laughed, she knows how particular I am about doing something right the first time, my kids ride in that truck, I would go without before I would ever place their lives at risk. Besides, we own 6 vehicles between 2 people and we have the means to afford to maintain a $30,000 4 year old truck. I had an officer try to get me to lie in a report one time and I wouldnt, she cussed me out but I stood firm, integrity was more important to me. Just because you know or work with someone doesnt mean that they wont lie, so unfortunate over something so easy to resolve. Even though Ross was not happy, he did beyond the right thing and I would recommend his integrity to anyone. I forgive his colleague for telling a lie, we all make mistakes, the question is, do we learn not to lie after the damage has been done? Thank you to Ross for the way he handled it even though he didnt like it and thought I was pulling a fast one on him. Hopefully he understands that I had nothing to gain by writing this review. Someone who is guilty of fraud or deception usually doesnt address an issue after they get what they want. Ross may not have believed that I was appreciative but I am, we are, I felt that he needed positive recognition, its something I wont forget.
