Had fuel pump replaced in my Pontiac Montana, was repaired quickly and priced very reasonably. The van has been running fine ever since. I’ve taken my vehicles to McCarty’s for several years and they have always been great to work with and have done excellent work!

I love the staff and service that is provided with McCartys. Everytime I call I am greeted by a friendly staff member who is happy to help. They are very quick about finding the problem that is wrong with your car and letting you know theyre also very good about letting you know the options that you have and what theyre able to do for you. McCartys unlike a lot of other places do not try to take advantage of you they have always been very upfront and honest with me about my vehicle and I appreciate that very much.

Was in a car accident, my car had to be towed to their lot to be held, which couldn’t be locked by the way. When I came to collect my belongings half of what I had left in my car had been stolen. This car was supposedly l to be locked inside a facility in which was “safe” so either their employees just help themselves to people’s stuff who already have lost their car or they don’t really care who comes and goes. It’s not a place I would ever use again. And if you ever use it take literally everything you own out, even if your injured and can’t bc they will take any little thing they can.

I have been a long time customer here taking several cars to be maintained and fixed but with this most recent experience I won’t be back. My initial tow in was because of traction lights and locking wheels. They told me front hub assemblies on the front end needed to be replaced. They called and said it was fixed and when I left I had a popping noise that kept getting louder and wasn’t there before. It was a CV axle. I took the truck back and they told me that the axle had nothing to do with the bearing being replaced. Well they have to roughly take that off to replace the bearing. I understand things break but they were completely lying to me. They fixed an axle and said they looked it all over and I was good to go. Not even a few hours off the lot and it’s doing it again.

My vehicle had to b towed in because of the check engine lite blinking, which the manual said do not drive. They towed it in and in a few days repaired everything that was wrong. Thank u McCarthys for great work.

I took my vehicle in to have the fuel pump replaced. The fuel pump is losing prime it will eventually go out I dont want to wait for it to go out so I asked them to replace it The truck wasnt starting for another reason they fixed that fine but I still have my original issue plus Im out a tow. The mechanic could have kept his rude comments to himself when he asked who the idiot was that worked on it I can get insults for free Im not going to pay for them And on top of that Ive left three messages for the owner to call me and nothing

We are from out of state, and were in Owensboro for a special event. It was the Friday before 4th of July. Our car died. We called AAA for a tow truck, with the intention of taking it to the local Honda dealer. However, they could not even look at the car until next month. We know nobody in town and did not know what to do. Our tow truck driver was wonderful! He put us in touch with McCarty’s, and they agreed to look at it immediately. It needed a new alternator. They had it fixed for us by the end of that day. We felt that they went above and beyond to help us out, and we were impressed.

Had to have my vehicle towed two times after the initial tow there, because it was not fixed. Adding up to three times my car was towed there. An employee even said that they work there and wouldn’t take their own vehicle there. I was Charged for the the last tow, which I shouldn’t have been because it was their job to fix the car. I told them to do whatever as long as the car will be fixed, and they failed. My car now runs, but not properly. Done trying with them.But will add, the towing guys are awesome!!! I appreciate them so much! They were nice & listened more to me about what was wrong with my car than anyone. Shoutout to the towing men!!

The driver was quick to respond and was so helpful. He took extra time to make sure my car didnt get damaged. He was kind and courteous as well. I would recommend McCartys to anyone.

Had a couple things wrong with my wife’s car along with a oil change they fixed 3/4 the other has to be fixed by a dealer. But other than that they do great work at a good price and are actually pretty fast.

If I could rate them lower than 1 star I would. After paying $3190 for an engine and labor I still left with my check engine light on. I Came back they told me it was a different issue (the computer). After taking it to a dealership the issue wasnt even the computer, it was spark plugs which I was charged for through McCartys so I paid for the service twice. Went to get the order for how many miles was on the engine that I just paid them $3200 for after labor and they can only give me word of mouth. No paperwork to prove.....poor business and services. Anyways after getting spark plugs AGAIN my car is now running perfectly

My car broke down on the Audubon. They were chose for me by AAA, soon as McCarty’s understood the situation they were prompt in arrive. The tow driver was curious and knowledgeable. I decided to donate the car as it was too expensive to repair and they were patient with the process. Every time I called they were prompt in assisting me and very polite. Having transpiration break down is a stressful process and they made it just a little bit easier. Highly recommended.

When I was 18, the starter went out on my very 1st car, a Chevy Cavalier. Having no clue what to do or where to go, I asked for advice from my friends dad, who steered me toward McCartys Garage. As former mechanic himself, his praise was usually sparse in this department; however, he said that they did quick but excellent work and were trustworthy fellows (i.e. they wouldnt rip me off by preying on my ignorance).I heeded this advice, had my vehicle towed to their garage 2 hours later, and was back behind the wheel in scarcely another 2. Since a teenagers car is akin to oxygen in their world, and going without seems like the end of it, I was suitably impressed that my life altering ordeal was resolved quick as lightening; that, and they took the time to reset my programmed radio stations! Even more impressive to me was the fact that I was charged a pittance for the tow; a fee I was sure was going to be sky high due to my parents domicile then being located somewhere between town and the North Pole, lol!The story I just shared took place in October of 1999, and for the last 21 years I have been a 100% loyal customer and a big fan of McCartys garage! My whole family now also uses their services whenever they need car repairs. The staff are always super friendly and even when harried busy, will take the time to patiently explain my car & its issues (a.k.a. Mysteries of the Great Unknown), plus any work they have done, to me. There have also been several occasions when my car(s) has been given a once over by the garage to check for potential issues, with no charge being issued on the instances where the search was unnecessary, despite the wasted labor on their part. In a world that seems to be increasingly driven by the money machine and its voracious appetite, gestures such as these really go a long way toward making a person feel as though their business is desired, appreciated, & necessary for said companys survival. If one were to compare this treatment to treatment received at a Walmart, for instance, the service gap would be so large that it could literally span the Grand Canyon at its widest point.I understand that in a business as specialty driven as auto repair that, while a kind exterior goes a long way, it could never compensate for incompetence under the hood. Fortunately, many mechanics employed by McCartys have been through the ASE certification, some have higher levels of specialized training, encompassing ALL the ins and outs of a particular part/function on a vehicle. No matter which route chosen, all certifications must be renewed every 4-5 years to ensure that they have the most up to date knowledge of your vehicle as possible. Those things more than reassure me; it means that I can relax knowing that no matter the day or the time, I can trust that there will always be a qualified technician on hand, likely with hands on, making sure that my vehicle is repaired safely & completely.So the next time you need auto repairs, I highly recommend giving the guys at McCartys a call; Ive yet to meet anyone who has regretted having their work done at this gara

My car was having “grinding” problems and I called McCarty’s and I was able to drop my car off after hours using the drop box (remember to leave your phone number because I didn’t and had to wait longer because they couldn’t reach me *face palm!) The receptionist I spoke with was very professional and accommodating and even had a giggle with me when I realized my mistake of not leaving my number. She said it would be finished by 4pm the next day, but she called me before noon saying it was ready!! I HIGHLY recommend McCarty’s, they’re honest and very fast!!

They found the issue, called me with the price and i told them to fix it. It was 1/2 the price i thought it would be. I was so happy to pay! My grandsons car wouldnt start one day so I called AAA to have them check it out. Battery turned out it was ok. The man that came said it would have to be towed in. So the next morning I called AAA what I needed and they sent a tow truckLater that day I got a call from McCarty Auto it was the starter. It was fixed and the next day we picked it. They got the truck up and running again after it had sat there for a month. They came and towed it and fixed everything wrong with it. It was fast and simple two thumbs up from me man.

That place deserve 0 star. Its a total ripp of. I took my car car they said it was gonna be around $600-700 to get it fix. Then they keep coming up with bunch of things that needed to be changed. I kept going with it. Eventually the charges went up to$ 2300. I did what I had to do.came up the the $ got my car back. It was supposed to fix. But no, it was partially fix. It was running rough and the engine light was on. I called them and explain. Ok they told me to bring it the car back. They say it was coded the chain. Wish was the previous work they did. Fast forward... They want to charge me to fix it again. The receptionist was very rude.Not very truthful about anything. Just a terrible place. DONT Take your car there for anything. Theyre not trustworthy. Theyll rip you off for everything you got. If you lucky your car might get fix.

If youre a trucker and broke down on the side of the road expect to pay for a service call then on top of that expect to pay for a parts run not including the price of the parts. I also checked my electronic log to find out that they were off by half an hour on their service hours. At the end of the day it cost me to get two air hoses replaced $1,127.13. I also forgot to mention that the mechanic apparently had to go find a place to get the air hoses custom made. The mechanic was a friendly guy but Im pretty sure he was pulling my leg especially since this was during the noon hour.

I had McCartys repair my SUV. First, they had to make sure of what was wrong with it. It was the battery, but they could have said it was something much more expensive and I wouldnt have known the difference. Good quality and honest work. And they are so nice....especially Katie, on the phone. I will be taking all my vehicles there in the future. You dont often hear honest and mechanic in the same breath. But these guys (and girl) are good, honest, hard working. Thank you, McCartys.

Nice people, friendly service, but one thing would be fixed and it seems like a million other things would go wrong. Been there twice so far within a month, and I just got my car back two days ago, and things are already going wrong again!

I needed front wheel bearings for my Toyota Tacoma and McCartys did both for the estimate I got at Midas for one. As soon as I picked it up I could tell the difference, the vibrating and burning smell were gone and it took an eighth of a gallon less gas to get to Cincinnati, where I drive to weekly. They also found that I needed rotors, brake pads, and an ABS sensor and as soon as I drove it it was obvious that I did. They also cleaned and adjusted the rear brakes.It was in there from 8/3/18 to 8/6/18 if you could let the mechanic know how thoroughly improved it is and Ill definitely be back.

I’ve had all my auto repairs done at Mcarty’s for the last 12 years. They’ve always taken care of me, and fast when I needed it. The towing service is great also. And they’ve always been cheaper than other repair shops.

I had my car towed down there and fixed. My fuel pump went out in my 2003 Jetta there driver David got to me as fast as he could. They are always busy, of what I could tell when him and I pulled in. They are cheaper than some places and fast with a diagnosis of whats wrong my car was in there for five days. Some places would have had it to weeks. This is an awesome place to go to. AAA approved shop I will use them again and again. Thank you all for helping me withy car!!!!

Girlfriends alternator went out the other day at 5 AM. The police said to use this place so she did. I didnt find out about it until 6:30 AM when she got home and I woke up. We arent from Kentucky (her family is) so we didnt know where to go anyway.I thought their prices were really cheap. Much higher back home and up north. The lady at the counter wasnt exactly emanating friendly customer service. Actually thought she was quite rude. Oh well, as long as their work holds up and proves to be good I think we will be happy to use them.
