Absolutely the most expensive place to get your car serviced in Oroville. They have cars down the block waiting to be serviced and they know it. Youre just a dollar sign. I could have had my engine replaced but instead it was one thing after another and it would have been cheaper to replace the engine. My car was in their shop 2 weeks. So dont expect to get your car back anytime soon. I ended up paying $4000 for a car that doesnt even run. Just dont go here. Go anywhere but here. Dont say I didnt warn you!

After getting our car fixed two weeks later our engine blew.We went in to get a replacement on our timing belt, in order to replace the timing belt they had to take the whole engine out. Then put the engine back in whoever worked on our CAR made a mistake and didn’t tighten the sparks plug. Which had cause damage because the plugs were lose, causing damage to the radiator fan & cylinder plug. BRENDA the front desk lady try blaming us saying it was our fault for driving it??? You drive your car after you get it back, correct? First of all, whoever was responsible for fixing our car should hold accountable.! But they didn’t want to be held accountable, regardless we came back for them to fix their mistake, but they had still charge us another $1,400 for their mistake after spending nearly 3,000. Not to mention we are a member of AAA. AAA had told us we were able to get a 10% discount since Dirks insurance holder is under AAA as well. BRENDA wasn’t trying to give us the 10% discount after spending nearly $4,000. 10% was suppose to go towards the 1,4k they had failed to fix. Brenda was also really rude to work with. I highly don’t recommend this place. If you know you made a mistake just fix it rather than charging people for your mistake.

I had my 99 dodge rams transmission completely remanufactured not refurbished by them i do believe some procedures were made with error as we all humans do but unlike a high percentage of the population they took ownership of the error and had no resistance in taking it back to correct the procedures and workmanship they are truly professionals and experts in all aspects by definition and in my opinion the best in their field of operation and it would be a total and complete waste of your money to employ ANYONE else other than Dirks automotive and transmission Id like to take the time to say thank you to Brenda, Jeremy and Drew for all your hard workSincerelyRichard Powers

Professional, very knowledgeable folks at Dirks. They have top notch equipment and do excellent repairs. The owner went out of his way to get my truck hauled to the shop.He also gave me great advice prior to the service, and after explained the details of my Duramax Allison transmission rebuild.They also fixed a soon-to-be problem on my transfer case. The rate was fair and the technical advise was priceless.

My experience with Dirks Automotive is frustrating and disappointing. After taking my vehicle in for a noise coming from the transmission that Dirks rebuilt the technician suggested that the sound might be coming from the rear-end. So after authorizing 775. For tare down and inspect. I received no other communication from Dirks and ended up with a 1600 dollar bill for the rear end rebuild that took a week to complete. I made multiple calls to Dirks during this week and received 0 call backs from anyone in the office including Drew who is in the process of purchasing Dirks from the current owner. I still have the noise coming from my transmission and my transmission still has a leak that Dirks has worked on as well. I hope this doesnt get deleted and everyone can see what they are in for when doing business with Dirks in the future. Not a fan of Dirks after this last experience.

All around great experience at Dirks when my truck was having transmission issues. I knew what to expect from sending some of our company rigs to them, and they did not disappoint. Got my truck in quickly, accurately diagnosed the issue, got the job done under budget, and provided outstanding service/communication throughout the process. They even fabricated a needed part when they saw it was on national back order due to COVID! Highly recommend them to anyone.

Super impressed with this place!!! Drew (Great guy) got me in quickly and had me down the road with a new transmission and ball joints a short time later. I did not even know my joints were bad until they pointed it out. They are very honest... They showed me the old ball joints (very worn) without me even asking to see them. Truck drives like new now! Price was great also. They upgraded some transmission parts at a very fair price.

The work was done fast, and they didnt try to up-sell me. Ill bring my truck back for my next repairs.

They were suppose do a diagnostic. Was told by dirks ive got 1 main leak by radiator. Was no leak whole rackby opinion was out 3 bolts loose and 1 missing. Was only told about a leak that didnt exist.

I went to them for a broken passenger side window crank (1982 Mercedes 240d). The office employees were very kind( it was also my fist time going to Dirks). The technicians found the issue and fixed it perfectly. It took a little longer than expected, although the week I went in it seemed as if all their lifts were full. In summary if you are willing to bear an larger than normal wait Dirks will be a perfect and trustworthy place for you.

I just had the clutch replaced on my Nissan Xterra four-wheel-drive. They were able to use OEM parts per my request as well as replace seals on my transfer case, input and counter shaft and rear main seal on my engine. The work was carried out in a timely manner and I got my truck back clean and at a VERY reasonable cost. I looked around the back of the shop and it was very well organized. The front entrance was extremely clean with a nice cool air conditioner and friendly people. The bathroom was spotless and clean as well. I’ll definitely recommend Dirk’s automotive to all my friends and family. This shop has also earned several other additional endorsements that aren’t even required to work on cars. I even talked to the owner and he was a really nice person and explained everything I needed to know in a clear, precise manner. Excellent shop A+++++++

I recommend 100 percent. Took my car in for am estimate, and when the issues outvalued they car, they waved fees and helped me tow it off the lot and everything else. Very nice people, and they have an extensive website that makes receiving service fast and efficient.

I was very impressed by Briannas customer service at the front counter, however I was horrified by the way I was treated by Drew, after quoting me $450 for something that I didnt think needed, but I was wrong it did need an alternator, but $450 for $130 part, really? I had a friend help me, got a used alternator from B & R for $35 and it took him all of maybe a half hour to replace the whole thing! Certainly not worth $450 AND to be treated rudely by some mechanic there, I would NOT recommend them, ever!😬

Competent, expert repairs/service. My family has taken our cars to them since the early 70s. Brenda, Drew, and Doug the owner couldnt be nicer. If needed, will give you a ride home and pick you up when repairs are finished. Also fix motor homes, farm equipment, classic cars.

Because they are really nice helpful and good mechanics I also like that they will let you make payments and hold your vehicle till paid off and fixed they have been very helpful to me in the past and I an on takeimg my car there again soon

They were very helpful. Got my car fixed up and had a loaner car for me to use while they fixed it. They explained everything clearly and I felt the prices were fair.

Would give more stars if I could! My vintage (aka old) bmw lost a transmission plug while on a rally a couple miles outside of town and was dumping transmission fluid on the exhaust, creating quite a smoke show. Limped the car over to Dirks and explained my predicament...long story short, they had me back on the road in about an hour and my weekend isn’t totally screwed! Can’t recall their names, but to the lady up front and the guy who fixed my car, THANKS!! Oh, and price for repair was very reasonable too...

They call when they say they will. Brenda gave us a ride wherever we needed in Oroville. Shes super sweet. They fixed a simple problem on r car which we thought was going to b expensive, for free. Who does that? They do. Love them & will definitely go back to them for r future auto needs. We highly recommend them.

Wonderful customer service, they went above and beyond to make sure that I had a loaner car, that way I was not stuck for a week not being able to get around. They are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. You never have to wonder if youre getting shoddy service. I have always taken every vehicle Ive owned to Dirks because I believe they are the most reliable service in town.

Outstanding customer service. We are out of state and only here for a few months for my husbands schooling and I will be sad to leave because we need a dirks in Washington State! My car wouldnt start so I called them - they sent two guys to my house, jump started it, took it to the shop, fixed it, brought my car back. All without a appt & they are BUSY. they really care about their customers and will take care of you.

Great place with great people! I went in to get my moms car looked at. After inspection i was told that the brakes were really bad and needed to be fixed. Without hesitation, Brenda Dirks (Im assuming she is the owner?) Offered me a ride home. She is such a sweet lady! She even picked me back up to get the car after it was finished the next day! Love this shop and I will definitely be come back here in the future for all of my car services!!

My transmission seized up in the middle of the road you too poor quality work I opened up oil pan of my transmission and found parts of my transmission in the pan

Had my car 2 weeks couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. I feel they didnt try very hard. Didnt charge me, but didnt do anything. Car acted up as soon as i left, which they said they couldnt get it to do.

I dropped my car off from Sunday night and I didn’t get any information until Thursday about my car for the transmission pan. They had time to tell one that my car was on a list. Also they told me $150 for taking the pan off then when I got there they charged me $165 from 5 mins after I called them to arriving to pay them. I had to tow it else where bc of how much they wanted to charge me.

I have used Dirks for my two latest repairs. They replaced the transmission in my 2003 F350 Diesel and recently did a tune up and other repairs on our 2002 F150. I was impressed both times with the professionalism and both times got the trucks back on the road fast. I will be using them for our next vehicle repair.

The people at this establishment have twice surprised me with their honesty, promptness, professionalism and experience. The first instance: after deciding to sell and old vehicle, the report was stellar. Not even a suggested fluid change. Good thing as I had changed it four months before. Second: after changing the trans fluid on a newer vehicle, I knocked a plug off inside the transmission when re-installing the pan. The guys in the shop knew exactly what Id done when I described the situation. An hour later, they had me on the road again for a minimal fee. Didnt even charge for extra fluids! If you have a tranny problem, call Dirks!

First time trying their services. Happy with the work performed and the way we were treated.

Terrible experience.Shop inside the waiting room was a mess, the mechanics dont listen, wanted me to pay $300 for a part which only costed me $30 bucks, then wanted to replace another part entirely just because the interior lights of it needed replacing..It stayed over night and they didnt do a thing after that, even said theyd tape a part down for me real good, yet when we got it back it was hanging by its last leg. Why tape it in to begin with if the lights wouldnt turn off and just burn out my battery?Also said my radio doesnt work, which I had told the lady at the desk repeatedly my radio does work, its just the screen. Yet the man seemed surprised when I asked if they checked the wiring.. Which they did not.Not taking my car back there, I wouldnt trust them to check my wiring or go inside to fix my interior lights in my shifter, they might make a bigger mess of things and give me a bill for it.

I called all over town no one but dirks would even look at it that day. Then they went above and beyond giving me a ride home and picking me up again. They got the job done the same day though that might not be normal.

Worst place ever! Cannot diagnose problems, ridiculous prices for parts, and rude customer service. I personally spent thousands of dollars to fix a problem that was misdiagnosed several times. Had my vehicle towed to the dealership after Dirks could not fix it after several months. The dealership had a diagnosis within 24 hours and it was done with a final bill of $700, while Dirks cost me almost $4,000 in unnecessary repairs.

Had an unknown noise that Dirks was able to locate and fix promptly. Excellent work.

I called Dirks and asked how much they would charge to replace the head gasket on a 1996 Dodge Stratus and they told me they couldnt give me a price over the phone but I would have to come in so they could look at it. I then asked if they would charge to look at my car and they said no.Expecting they would be true to their word I made an appointment and showed up the next morning and then they charge me $56 to do the diagnostic only to tell me that my head gasket was blown like I already knew it was.Worst part is they wanted to charge me $2186 to replace the Head gasket which is twice as much as another shop in town.You couldnt pay me to go to Dirks and get my car worked on because they already proved that they say one thing and do another not to mention they charge twice as much as other shops within the vicinity.Nuff said
