The gym itself isn’t a problem but the staff that work there are extremely incompetent. I walked in to cancel my membership because I had moved to an area where a crunch wasn’t available to me so I needed to find a new gym. I went in and the associate helping me told me that they had taken care of it, closed my account and I was good to go. A whole year goes by and I get a letter from a collection office stating I didn’t pay my gym membership fees and I was sent to collection to pay off the accrued amount I had from the time I canceled my membership…. It literally lowered my credit score significantly and I had to pay like 200 dollars in monthly gym payments… because someone was not doing their job. I went in to complain and the manager looked at me like I was speaking some other language and told me that they found it so “odd” that it hadn’t closed. As if this didn’t negatively affect and it was just some trivial error. Literally will never be going to a Crunch again.Update: I responded to this person who relayed the message to management to “further assist” me and all this person told me for assistance is that they changed out policy and management because the management used to be “lousy” and they “weren’t doing what they were supposed to”. Okay great, that was super “helpful” to me. No one took AGAIN took accountability for the mistake that hindered me.Don’t go to this gym and save yourself the headache.

Right outside of this location, one of your employees was driving recklessly in his black Honda Civic in the parking lot and broad sided a friend of mine last week. Based on the fact that he totaled her car, the extensive damage done, and the fact that his strike drove her car diagonally about thirty feet into the other lane, he mustve been going 35-40 mph IN THE PARKING LOT. what makes it worse: he lied to the police, along with another employee, telling them she drove through the stop sign, a flat out fib. English is her second language and shed never been in a collision, so she completely misunderstood what was happening. He took advantage of that. Your associate first was incredibly apologetic for striking her car and tried not to involve police. She called 911, as youre supposed to, and another associate who was a friend of your other employee responsible for the crash, proceeded to tell him to lie.Its a shame that you guys employee someone whod operate their motor vehicle so dangerously in a densely populated area not just with vehicles, but pedestrians. Its even worse youre employing someone with horrible morals, bad enough to lie after putting my friend in harms way. Your associate demonstrated a complete inability to take responsibility for their poor judgement and actions. mistakes happen, but we only learn from them when we take ownership in our own shortcomings. Your associate lacks maturity, integrity, proper decision making, and general concern for others well-being. Kind of ironic considering he works at a health club. Will never join your club under your hiring standards, and will advise anyone and everyone where the subject arises to avoid as well. Your persons behavior was disgusting that day.

Crunch is a wonderful and amazing gym! It’s the only gym I’ve felt completely comfortable to go in and truly workout! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly, the trainers are extremely knowledgeable and very open to helping!I worked with a trainer, Dustin for 4 months. He truly is great at what he does and keeps your progressing! I feel healthier and I wasn’t stuck on the same routine workouts, it was always adjusting with the progress I was showing. Also he would explain to me what each exercise was doing for me and when I had questions on anything he took the time to talk it through for me. I would highly recommend him if you’re looking for training!I got the opportunity to see the other trainers working as well and they are all truly great at what they do!The only gym I recommend since coming to crunch is crunch! They stand by their mottos and want you to succeed!Anyone wanting to have a gym where they can go in with no judgment, constant energy and a wonderful variety of classes and equipment; I couldn’t recommend crunch fitness any higher!

Crunch as a company does the bare minimum to keep people safeYou only do what is required . Other gyms might go above a beyond to insure the safety of the customers not crunch

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE FOR PERSONAL TRAINING, overpriced not prioritized, trainers constantly changing scheduled sessions. Go to F45 up the road $25 session for 45 minutes better outcomes. Pay per session no contracts/policy for any company to maneuver on creating a debt.Crunch (ABC Financial) Charged my bank account 4 months after cancelling my contract as they want to charge me $220 saying I did not advise of cancelling 10 days before draft in which I did but my trainer decided to take his time in having management authorize/process the cancellation for personal training on an account I never authorized them to use. But it’s just not practical to wait 10 to 15 minutes for a squat rack, bench press, or any popular workout equipment. No fault to the gym. Just too many people and the gym is not big enough. Is there an option for ZERO?? One Star is way above their level of achievement. This place is always crowded, the equipment is not enough for the amount of people that exercises there and when you mention about cancelling a membership, the mind games begin: it has to be in person, need to talk to the manager, we have to wait for three months to let you go.... I see people in and out of the building with masks, once in the gym, all masks come off. It makes sense since everyone is pumping calories and sweating, well then make sure there is at least a smaller number of people in there. This place is not following good business practices, they are dishonest and you are not told everything up front such as annual fees and such.

This company uses predatory billing practices, so please beware.I joined last holiday season; it was a Christmas gift from my wife. She signed me up for my initial membership and got me involved with the personal trainer program. I decided after my initial free session that I would join the gym and continue seeing the trainer. I updated my account with my credit card information at that time.In 3/2020, I signed a 3-month delay agreement for personal training due to economic issues related to some medical bills. A month later, I lost my job due to the pandemic. I had hopes that I would quickly be able to find another job. At this time, it was my understanding that my account was in good standing, which was CONFIRMED by my personal trainer. In 6/2020, I was still out of work and had to cancel my personal training outright. At that time, when I signed the cancellation agreement, I was told by my trainer that my account was still in good standing and in fact, I still had some paid-for sessions left on my account! I was reluctant to come into a gym during an airborne pandemic, so I declined these sessions and thought that was the end of it.Fast forward again to 8/2020. Due to continued economic stress, I was no longer able to pay for non-essential luxuries such as the gym and decided to cancel my overall membership. On the same day, my wife noticed that her card had been charged $56 by Crunch. Confused, we went to the gym to sort out the mess and cancel the membership. At this time I was told by the gym manager that I have a nearly $600 tab with the personal training side of the house, and until that was resolved, they would not cancel my membership and would continue charging me a monthly membership fee.I asked why I was not notified at any time of this remaining balance. I dont know was the response.I asked why, if this was so important that my membership cannot be cancelled until it is resolved, was I not notified at the time I signed the cancellation paperwork in June. I dont know was the response.I asked why no one in the last 3 months has tried to reach out to me to resolve this substantial debt. I dont know was the response.I asked why it is only important now when I try to cancel my membership. I dont know was the response.I asked how I could have paid-for sessions left on my account at the time of my cancellation if I was $600 in the red. I dont know was the response.I asked why my wifes card was charged when it was not on my account, MY account, which does not have her name or her card information attached to it once I gave them my card info and was told that she was completely extricated from my account (I was assured of this when I decided to move forward with personal training). I dont know was the response. We are pursuing this with her bank as fraud.Once the hooks are into your billing information, Crunch and its team will basically do whatever they want with it and keep you in the dark for as long as possible, only to spring a bill on you when you decide to cancel your membership. Remember, it was ONLY THEN that I owed $600, not when I cancelled my personal training or the 3 subsequent months.Just look at Crunchs responses in any of the negative reviews here: all they say is its clear in the contract... or Im sorry you feel that way LOL they dont even try to please the customer. They know they have enough legal language in their contracts to cover their predatory practices and are protected from having to please the customers.UPDATE: look at Crunchs response to my review, then look at their responses to other negative reviews. How many times have they blamed the reviewer for embellishing their reviews instead of addressing ANY of the issues? I never said that I didnt owe anything. My issues are how this info was never relayed to me, staff not being able to answer any of my questions, and fraudulently charging my wifes card. How many times can you blame the customer before you realize the issue might be you? This speaks for itself.

I’ve been coming to this gym for more than 2 years now and never really had an issue until today. Manager Maria came up to my brother and me to tell us that we cannot use the black plates for deadlifts when this has never been the case in the past 2 years. Its not only impossible to only use rubber plates in deadlifts as the bar can only take so many of the those plates, but the gym itself posts videos and pictures of people deadlifting using the black plates on social media. She said that it was due to “liability issues” because they can slip, however if that was really the case you could just tell people put clips on the bar. This review can change if the issue is resolved.

I called to see about how to go about doing this and was told I need to come in? That would be fine in normal times, but the CDC is telling people to avoid groups larger than 10 people. I get that you need to work and make money. So do I, and to each his own. If people want to keep working out - good for you. I haven’t even been to this gym yet ... but just judging from the owners responses to some of the negative reviews you can safely assume that the business does very little to minimize their concerns other than consistently use the phrase “I am sorry you feel that way...” any well informed and conscientious person knows not to use that phrase because it is not a genuine apology let alone an apology ... the business owner keeps focusing on every measure they have incorporated other than enforce it... spacing of equipment, sanitizing procedures and printed signs for wearing masks and social distancing are not very effective if management and employees are not actively enforcing the rules...

Update- The payment issue was resolved.I requested to cancel my personal training due to financial issues when the gym opened back up in May. I had already prepaid for my sessions and had no way of contacting Crunch (no working corporate phone number, sketchy) to let them know I wanted to cancel. I was still within the 10 day cancellation, so it shouldn’t have been a problem cancelling according to the contract. He wanted to charge me $180 to cancel the contract which would go towards more sessions or suggested I freeze my account for 3 months in case I change my mind on whether or not to continue with pt training. I decided to freeze my account, now 3 months later 12 days before my billing period I decide I still want to cancel. The manager John, is still trying to charge me $180. UPDATED August 25:This gym is at it again, perpetuating this lie that you have to come to the gym to cancel your membership. They even have clever language constructed about the agreement. Theyre now telling my 19-year old son, whos away at college, that they wont cancel his membership and that his parents have to go to the gym to cancel on his behalf. Ludicrous. The word shady comes up quite a few times in the reviews here. These are questionable false business practices all designed to discourage cancelation. Dont succumb to their lies and deceit. It’s a pandemic and I’m not comfortable going to the gym. I’m a cancer survivor and prefer not to be in a place like that. So, I tried to cancel my membership, multiple times. I chose not to cancel it right away wanting to invest in a local business, but, finally this fall decided I needed out of my membership. I emailed back in November and in early December. Nothing. So, I called the general manager and was told I have to come in person and cancel or send a certified letter. I was told that it’s policy and she wouldn’t make an exception regardless of the pandemic or my concerns. It’s policy, she said. I guess she’s never heard of electronic signatures.I decided to read the contract I signed 2 years ago that Im being held accountable to. Turns out, she was wrong. The contract says NOTHING about cancelling in person or certified mail. In fact, it just says it has to be in writing and that you only need 10-days notice. See the contract language below.I feel duped and taken advantage of. This “policy” is all about discouraging cancellations, not about treating the customer with compassion and empathy. Those qualities engender business and brand loyalty. Holding me to an unreasonable and unsympathetic policy does not.I encourage all of you who are frustrated about the cancellation policy to read through your contract and hold this company to some integrity of practice.NOTICE OF INTENT TO CANCEL. The notice of cancellation from the consumer shall be given in writing and shall alsoterminate automatically the consumer’s obligation to any entity to whom the health studio has subrogated or assigned theconsumer’s contract. ADDITIONAL CANCELLATION TERMS. Excluding the 3 business day provision to cancel on the front of the agreement, andthe BUYER’S RIGHTS above, Member cannot cancel within their first 90 days, after 90 days you are required to provide a10 day written notice.

Love the multiple lifting stations with quality Rogue Ohio barbells, bumper plates, and floor padding for deadlifts and Olympic lifts, but the gym is so crowded that you sometimes still have to wait. The only reason no 5 stars is the LOUD LOUD MUSIC (Am I shouting?) Put aside the fact that I dont like the choice of music, my main objection is the volume. You could easily turn the volume down 50-75%. My preference would be 100%. Half of the people in the gym are wearing headphones or earbuds, which means they dont want to hear whats being played over the speakers anyway. I tried earbuds but could not hear in them over the noise in the room.

Great gym, but as with most gyms, they hide behind “it’s all in the documents that we know no one reads” when explaining everything.I read them and haven’t been surprised by anything myself, but it always rubs me the wrong way when companies always do this.My suggestion - Have a clear an precise billing schedule on the contract so everyone is clear on what they’re signing up for. Include dates, amounts, etc.

Go to this Gym at your own risk. With no limits in the number of members attending each day, very few wearing masks, and less than aceptable cleaning procedures, and no concern for the virus from the employees not following CDC guidelines. A RISK TO YOUR HEALTH!!

The worst fitness center ever. They have the most greedy and unprofessional staff ever. I wish, I could give a zero star. I signed up in February and was not able to use the facility at all due to Covid. I asked to cancel my membership and they told me that I was under a 90 day commitment, even though they were closed. They reopened in May and I wasn’t even aware until the payment came out of my account. I asked again to cancel, because I don’t feel comfortable using the facility at this time, and they refuse to give me annual membership fee back.

Been going to the Gym for over 12 years and never had an issue with any staff or management until going to the Crunch Fitness in the Lake Nona location. The GM Eddie was very rude and not willing to fulfill my request to talk to someone else after asking him 3 times and instead looks up my phone number to find out who I am and attempt to intimidate me. I was wrongfully charged for a towel I never bought and wrongly charged for another month when I had just paid for my month previous to them freezing my account for the COVID-19. I was then charged 60$ for the yearly fee after only being there for 2 months. I’ve attempted to call the cancel membership line for days and can never get through. I would highly not recommend Crunch Fitness at any location. Eddie is very untrustworthy and money hungry. In Reaponse,You completely overlooked my entire review except the 10$ difference I have mentioned for the 60 day fee that was not talked about when I signed up. Also with the gym being shut down due to this pandemic and our accounts being frozen, you would think you would have some leniency with the actions you have charged me for. You charged me for another month just to update my new debit card on file when I had been charged right before my account was frozen and Eddie charged me 2.50$ for a towel I told him I didn’t want to buy nor did I get the towel. Could have been more professional the way things have been handled. Extremely rude in person and on the phone when I called. He also followed me around the gym because I was carrying my gym bag. Have nothing good to say about the gym. Would recommend to go somewhere else.

Spoke to Brenda the front desk manager at the Lake Nona location about resolving my financial issue due to COVID-19. I used the gym for one day before everything was shut down. My payment was still processed for the month of April but I just let that go hoping to be back at the gym soon. Toward the end of May I received a notification saying the gym was opening up. At this point Ive lost my job, have received no unemployment nor a stimulus check so paying for a gym membership is not top priority. The gym ended opening up a week before they claimed and I woke up to money being deducted from my account before I could even call them to discuss my issue. Mind you, I used the gym for ONE day before it shut down. When I spoke to Brenda I was told that the annual fee would not be processed and that corporate was sent an email to ask for a refund. Today I woke up to the annual fee being processed and my account in the negative. I called the gym back and Brenda told me that they couldnt issue a refund for the annual fee because I have not been a member for three months yet. However, I was never even given any follow up communication regarding my issue, not even an email. At this point, Ive used the gym for one entire day in March and have payed out $94.68 They have done nothing to help during this world pandemic crisis. Crunch Fitness, I think its ok to override your usual policies in the midst of a world crisis. Also, it shows true customer care to help your customers through this world financial disaster. Now is not the time to stick to your stringent policies. Some of us are in great need!

This is an amazing Gym! I have been to so many different fitness centers, but never to one like Crunch in Lake Nona. The staff is incredible! It is so clean! And they are so willing to do anything for you. If you’re looking for a fitness center that is state of the art, and has a wonderful staff, this is the place for you!!

Please, Please do not waste your time signing up with this gym! The staff is empowered to do only one thing and that is take your money. The gym was closed during COVID-19 and then when they opened I went in to cancel and was told Everything was good no money will come out of my account in July. Well, they lied. I called and all I got was a broken record of “sorry” from the manager at the front desk who had the nerve to say the representative did the paperwork wrong but I was still under the 90 day contract. The representative before the manager stated I needed to come back in and sign a new cancellation form because the other one was voided-They are full of sh...t!!! The story was then changed to I’m double checking the paperwork and you will no longer have a payment in August so I do not have to come in and sign cancellation papers again. I asked her how will I know for certain since I was told the same thing last month. Long story short PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE FOLKS. NO INTERGITY- I GIVE THEM A ZERO
