I called last minute and told him what the issues were with my Merc 150hp. He diagnosed it over the phone. I took my boat in 2 days later. Dropped it off at 8:00. By 8:30 he called and confirmed that it was the water pump. By 9:30, he called and was complete! He changed the water pump and THANKFULLY the lower unit oil which was extremely low. He did a great job and I appreciate the fast turnaround! Boat is running great now.

This is the second time Ive done business with. Both times the work was high quality, fast, and very reasonably priced. The first time was my snow blower.This time is was my lawn tractor. The engine blew up. I thought I would just have to junk it and buy a new one, but George gave me a great deal on replacing the engine.On top of that, I had no way to get the dead tractor to his shop, so George came out to my house and picked it up. Then he fixed it, and brought it back to me THE NEXT DAY, all clean and shiny and running smoother than ever.Just honest, old-fashioned quality service. Highly recommended!

We called to have our older boat motor worked on. My husband was explaining it to a man and cut my husband off and said not working on it. He proceeded to tell my husband to do himself and favor and buy something nicer then hangs up the phone. Very rude. Dont recommend anyone calling this man!

So I call to make an appointment to get my boat winterized, thinking I am going to have to drop it off and pick it up next day or two. Nope, he tells me he does it while we wait. I pull up and he has a little cart in the driveway and 30 minutes later I am on way back home with my winterized boat in tow. This is the most efficient winterization process I have ever seen.

Honestly not sure why there are any bad reviews for this guy. He was super polite, quoted me on the spot, and was finished with my populan pro mower within less than an hour. Not to mention the dude is hilarious. I recommend anyone that needs quick mower repair to come to this guy. Very reliable, good price, and an honest straight shooter. Would come to him again.

This was my first time using Midwest Outdoor Power & Marine and I was impressed with the quality of service and the respect given. Customer Service has for the most part been lost in this country but not at MOPM. Service was fast efficient and hands down top notch. Nothing was completed without a call discussing the issues first and when I picked up the boat two hours later there were no BS charges. Thanks again for the amazing service.Update as of 10/2/20 George advised he ran this motor for 15-20 minutes with no issues. I believe this to be false as when I finally got to try to run this motor it would not run longer than 10 seconds at any given time. Very poor water pressure from the motor. I did some of my own research and found both thermostats completely froze shut. Once I replaced the thermostats the motor did eventually run. The thermostats did not go bad between this repair facility and home. You would think someone who claims to have run a motor for 15-20 minutes would notice this or that it wouldnt run longer than 10 seconds. I would probably reconsider other repair facilities at this point.Update 10/5/20 Now he wants to be a smart mouth. It would not run on muffs longer than 10 seconds. I was told it ran for 15-20 minutes which clearly is a lie. When someone tells you they run a motor and you do the same exact thing and it wont run for 10 seconds clearly is not the fault of the customer. I did call you back that same evening and we discussed it and you said you had no clue what was going on and would have to do some research. Never heard back. Glad you wanted to point the finger elsewhere.

I called BEFORE I purchased a boat that needed motor. He may come across as no nonsense, but I’m not looking for someone to kiss my butt while taking my money. Took my mower in cuz I broke the wheel and it was hard to start. George was able to switch my chassis with exact same mower with a bad motor. Did the tune up and it’s like a brand new mower! A+ service. Originally the plan was to bring boat in to get winterized at 9 and then to pick up at 12 It was done. I got there at 9 and he started working on it right then got it done quick and done right and I was able to leave an hour later. Owner/operator was professional and very knowledgeable. Wouldn’t trust my boats lawnmowers or snow blowers with anyone else. This is my first time bringing equipment to him and I won’t be going to anyone else. Support your local small businesses. I read many of the reviews before going and had no idea what to expect. I took my mower in for repair, knowing full and damn well its the busy season. So the downtime and pricing were acceptable.The owner was not only pleasant but knowledgeable. He did seem no nonsense, which is welcoming to me. HE ALSO DID AN AWESOME JOB! He gives great care and upkeep advice. His dog isnt vicious, whomever wrote that should be ashamed. I recommend this business for your repair needs.

I went to Midwest based on reviews, and I can now report that they were legit. The owner/operator, George, is a machine/motor expert. It didn’t hurt that he had tons of finished work ready for pick up. That tells me that a lot of people trust him.George manages fast turn around and fair prices. His cost for extensive repair on my 1980s outboard was very reasonable. He is not real chatty but that’s because George has a reputation of thoroughness to maintain, and he stays busy all day. Basically, he’s a machine expert and puts himself into each job with full attention.George shows and explains all the parts he replaces. There are no rookie mechanics, so I never worry if the work was done right the first time. I’m recommending him to my entire boating community. Thanks George.

I had called George one morning and he was really backed up being the beginning of the boat season. I was understanding for that and he got me in line the following week. I brought my crownline boat in and he knew exactly what was needed. A lower shift cable. He showed me the one he’ll be installing and knew exactly what my symoptoms were when driving the boat in water. He was amazing and did an awesome job. Two months later the boat still shifts like butter and has not stalled out or grinded when going into gear . Will bring it back to him for major work again

Fast and straightforward service. Brought my mower in to get fixed on a Saturday, it was fixed and ready to get picked up that Monday. He fixed the self-propel, replaced the blade, changed the oil and filter, and cleaned the entire mower. Got charged a very reasonable amount. Would recommend

Dropped lawn mower off this morning, which didnt run last year. In just a few hours George had it looking shiny from a good clean and working great . Had some long grass that didnt get cut last fall, so the mower was perfect.

I bought a boat over the winter that hadnt ran in several years. A few weeks ago I began calling around looking for someone to get it running that I could trust. Ive been burned a few times over the years so Im very skeptical when it comes to mechanics, but George put my mind at ease from the moment I called him. I can say with absolute certainty my boat wont be go anywhere else from now on! George was extremely knowledgeable and did an excellent job of explaining what he was going to do/did before, during, and after the work. He also wouldnt work on it without at least checking the lower end, thank god for that. By doing this he found what would have been a catastrophic failure the first time the boat was on the water, and was able to fix it before it happened, saving me from having to replace the engine. George ABSOLUTELY cares about the quality of service hes providing, and I am so thankful to now have a boat mechanic I can trust wholeheartedly...and let me tell ya...my trust isnt easily earned! I brought a surface drive mud motor to George that had quit in the middle of a duck hunt. He had it diagnosed and repaired in extreme short amount of time and also went above and beyond and did some preventative maintenance on the motor for me. George is honest and exceptional at what he does. I see why he is called the Wizard. I will be bringing any motor I have with issues to him and highly recommend him to friends and family.

First and foremost George is a man of his word that exceeded expectations and repair time. When I first called George to have my old fishing outboard repaired he asked what I had and what the issues were. George actually diagnosed the issue over the phone and gave me an estimate on the repairs which was the same price that I paid... a rare quality and outcome these days. George asked that I drop off the motor, gas tank and primer bulb line to ensure everything was in working order. Hours later I received a video on my cellphone of my motor running the way it used to; at idle and full bore and that it was ready to pick up. When I arrived to pick it up George had the motor, tank and bulb line cleaned as well. Thank you George I could not ask for more and I will be a loyal customer of his until he decides to retire.

Called on a Saturday morning b/c our mower was acting up. Friendly gentleman diagnosed the problem over the phone as opposed to charging us an arm and a leg just to look at it. He was able to get us in rite away, fixed the problem, and we had our mower back with in 1 hour!!!! Very reasonable on price, EXCELLENT customer service. We will NEVER go anywhere else for our mower/snow blower repair/maintenance!!

I took in my mature Troy-Bilt tiller that was running rough Saturday morning.. George sounded like he had extensive experience with these machines. He called that afternoon to say it was ready to pickup. He had rebuilt the carb, added a fuel shut off value, replaced the air filter and fixed a flat tire. It runs like a top. Couldnt be happier.

Beware of this guy, and his dog. When paying him, I went to go put my cash on the ledge and his dog jumped up and bit my hand. Instead of saying sorry, he said, next time, pay up faster. He has no clue on how to speak to his customers. He gave me a mower and a blower back that barely runs and still charged me, $55 a piece on them. If youre a day or two late picking up, hell call you and speak to you with zero respect, while using profanity. This guy is by far the most ugliest, most rude and disrespectful person Ive yet to deal with. He complained to me for almost an hour about how his ex wife left him. Maybe he let his dog loose on her. Idk. He told me, we dont click (like we’re dating or something) Tuesday morning at 11, because I didnt pick my 3 mowers up at the end of the day on Monday when he told me the previous Saturday that the mowers wouldnt be ready until Wednesday or Thursday. Avoid, AVoid, AVOID!! Im still wondering how hes in business with his aggressive dog being allowed at the counter. I would rather slam my big toe in a door lined with chicken wire than give this guy another dollar of my hard earned money.

Best mower tune up money can buy. Our mower hasnt run right for a while and last October it quit all together. George tore the whole thing apart, rebuilt the carb and now it starts on the first pull. On top of that he cleaned it all up and it looks brand new. This is a great local company and Ill be taking my business here from now on.

I brought in a 1966 Evinrude Lightwin 3 HP that I thought was hopeless. There was no recoil on the pull starter and the engine seemed to miss a lot when it did run.When I brought it in, George asked me a few questions to diagnose it and that he needed $100 to look at it and and hour worth of work/Labor. I was hesitant because that seemed like a lot for what I thought was a hopeless motor. He was honest and said that he wouldnt know if he could fix it or not for that much. Since he had such great reviews, I gave him some money and told him no rush.3 days later he calls me and tells me hes got it purring like a kitten. He had replaced several parts (recoil spring, spark plugs, etc) and spent significantly more time fixing and tuning it up. I paid in total $157.50 and my old motor NOW RUNS LIKE NEW. He also gave me lots of advice on what to do to keep it running well.Midwest Outdoor Power and Marine is THE place to go for motor repair/maintenance. While it may seem like a lot for it to be seen it is WELL WORTH IT for the skill and effectiveness.I absolutely recommend!

Took my boat here. I wont be back. He broke my throttle only button. Then poorly glued it in. He over charged me to rebuild lower unit. Then didnt even replace all the seals. I took my Honda HS35 snow blower to Midwest Outdoor Power and Marine because the choke knob had come off and the choke shaft fell down into to housing. I had tried a small screw to attach the knob but it was not going to work. I also needed a scraper bar after replacing the auger paddles as well as a tune up.I picked up the blower last week and just this morning after receiving the 6-8 inches of heavy wet snow, it fired up on the first pull.
