FANTASTIC barbershop. Friendly, skilled staff. I was a walk-in and they where able to fit me in! Prices are reasonable and there is a clear sense of community here. I have been to lots of different barbershops, this one is the best! Shout-out to my barber Rick, thanks for the great cut!

This was my first time at this barbershop the place cosmetically it was awesome loved the set up I made an appointment with Rick, he was very welcoming kind of quite but I can see why he is really focused on what he does the dude is all about attention to detail love the fact he offered me a beer complementary I thought at first the price for the cut was a little high but after he got done it was worth paying the 30 bucks plus the free beer. I’ll definitely be back I saw nothing but good quality work leaving the place I’m sure I’ll be in good hands if I see any other barber. Thanks again Rick!

I’m from the Midwest and had been staying in Oceanside for several weeks. I decided I needed a haircut so I walked over to the Gentlemen’s Den. They greeted me with a friendly approach and promised to get me in as soon as possible. I sat down and they offered me a beer while I waited. Daniel was exceptional! He asked me how I wanted my hair cut and then took charge! I have to say, it was the best cut I’ve had in decades! Great conversations at the Den and just great people! Heads up that they have moved across the street catty corner from BEACHBREAK CAFE. Together with LOTUS salón, they are in a little white concrete courtyard with patio umbrellas next to the gas station on the corner of Cassidy and Coast hwy.

Hayden gave me one of the best - if not the best - haircut I’ve ever had. I was skeptical about the pricing at first but I’ll never go back to $15 haircuts again. You get what you pay for and this place delivers.

Hayden has been cutting my hair for several years and She is amazing. I’m very particular about who does my hair and how it’s done. I met Hayden at a different shop before gentleman’s den and I’ve kept my business with her since she left because she’s reliable and just really good at what she does! The other barbers there are always friendly, great conversation and atmosphere. The shop is always clean and tidy and all the decoration make the shop entirely unique. 100% recommend Hayden and the rest of the Gentleman’s den fam 👍

Great experience as is the norm for this local Oceanside barbershop. Appointment was made to reserve a spot on a day of my availability and the staff are always cheerful and friendly. Quality cuts the way you want it!

DO NOT MAKE A RESERVATION AT THE GENTLEMAN’S DEN!!! They will not honor your reservation, they will either cancel on you at the last minute or the barber will simply never show up, but the bottom line is that if you make a reservation here, you will not get a haircut, just disappointment.

Transferred over to Gentlemen’s Den following Hayden as she has been cutting my hair for roughly two years plus and have not looked back. Not only has she been keeping me and my 13 year old Son looking fresh, my 28 year old brother when in town stops in to get his haircut from Hayden.Whether if you know exactly what you want for your hair or want to switch it up and try something new. The staff keeps the place clean and is friendly with great conversation. You can’t go wrong here at Gentlemen’s Den!

I discovered the Gentlemens Den through my barber Hayden. This is a great place to go for your grooming. With a Western flare its a cut above your Dads barbershop. Although I always call Hayden for my trim, all of the barbers at Gentlemens Den are professional barbers. Definitely a find in Oceanside.

Lucky to find the Gentlemens Den for a much needed holiday haircut. Hayden is the greatest, sliding me into her busy schedule with friendly conversation to distract and make me comfortable during what could be an awkward Covid experience. Im pretty square and uptight, but even I feel cool sitting in this old-timey shop that feels like my grandparents mountaintop lodge.

These guys are legit. I’ve got zero hair but have brought both my teen boys here. Friendly. Cost point is spot on. Turned my one kids man bun into a handsome young man. Well done. They know what they are doing. Drive extra just to get here.

Exceptional service. Dave is an artist and a craftsman. You are welcomed upon entering and asking if you would like beer water or sparkling water. The conversation flowed, the ambiance is fantastic and todays playlist was old school. A+. Come here for your next cut and shave. You wont be sorry!!!!

My only barber shop experience but its the best haircut Ive ever had. They do straight razor work and offer refreshments and the atmosphere is awesome. Prices similar to salon but not outrageous for a high quality cut plus they do beard trims. 5 stars for atmosphere, price, and haircut quality.

I go here to have my haircut and my beard trimmed by Chase. He always does a fantastic job. The shop has an old west theme that is not over done and all the barbers are friendly and lively. The prices are very reasonable and although they sell a good selection of styling products, they are not aggressive about marketing them to you. I moved out of the area and I still go back for a cut and a beard trim.

Decent haircut, good atmosphere. Would be 5 stars but I had a bunch of extra long straggling hairs on both my beard and head that I had to take care of once I got home. After they were dispatched everything looked great.

Probably one of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten. I showed up without an appointment, and they still happily scheduled me as a walk-in.Had a pleasant conversation with one of the barbers who happens to also be a local. He also took his time to give me the best haircut possible. While work takes me everywhere, if I’m ever back in Oceanside and need a haircut, this is where I will be going.I am kicking myself that I can’t remember the barber’s name to give him praise, but thank you for an awesome haircut.

Top notch. Jack is a great barber, hair sculptor, artist. However one acknowledges his work, his cuts look great from freshly trimmed to grow in weeks later. I personally get what he refers to as the gentlemans cut style. He has been working his magic on my hair for about 6 months. His straight razor shave and facials are brilliant rejuvenators. Jack just moved to this shop. The shop is comfortable and well kept. Appointments make it convenient and timely. Give it a go, take care of the hair, and your hair will get the compliments mine does. Came here for the first time, yep I have a new shop, from the ascetics to the barbers this place is great. Came in with a vague idea what I wanted, the gentleman who cut me knew exactly what i wanted. Left super satisfied

Hipster customer service at its best. Do you like being offered a warm, hair-covered PBR with your mediocre haircut? Maybe the Den is for you! I’ve gone to the Den a few times because it’s conveniently located, but wouldn’t go back. I recently had a cut scheduled with Dave and was running ten minutes late. I called to let him know and the guy that answered, Mike, said he wouldn’t wait for me and was leaving. I told him I really needed a cut and offered him an extra $10 for the cut plus tip to stick around for a few minutes. Mike laughed and proceeded to hold the phone up yelling to all the barbers, “$10, anyone want $10? Yeah, no one’s interested.” I get it. You guys have more clients than you know what to do with. But if you keep insulting your customers they’ll soon realize that there are hundreds of barbers in Oceanside, most of them just as good, a lot of them for a better price, and very few of them as rude to the people offering to pay them.

Easily the best experience and cut I’ve ever gotten. Growing up through high school, I was the guy that never cut my hair. When I finally started getting my hair cut, I obviously opted for the cheapest places possible (ie Supercuts). Never really saw the value in paying an extra $15-$20 for a place like that. Boy was I wrong. These guys care about their craft. They listen to what you want, and they give you what you want - and more. Like they got beers in there for the guys getting their cuts. Who’s doin it like this?! No one. I’ll be back!

What separates Gentlemans Den from many other coastal barbers is that many of them nearby are catering specifically to the military crowd needing high and tights for weekly inspection.Having grown up in Oceanside I’ve seen it first hand, the fear of getting yelled at for missing inspection from not getting a haircut has taken all the honor in caring for your haircuts away. When you stop looking at it like a treat, something that betters you, and as a chore is when we the public can also tell. Sure your girl might notice and that might be her thing, but there just isn’t that confidence of a great haircut like when you leave a barbershop like Gentlemans Den.They’ll do what you’d like because their good at what they do. They’ll treat you like a guest and more than a customer. It’s so much more than turn & burn. The long lasting relationships they have with guests is telling of their hospitality.Having left my last barber in OC/LA I spent a few years going to a spot which was near my old job and found their hours and appointment schedule to be really nice (7am 5 days a week), but moving back to North County for work has me alternating between here and another place.I come here for Evan. He’s super rad and interesting enough many of my friends have been his clients for years too. He’s all about local so we have some mutual friends. It’s having these types of barbers here that ground a place like this. Where they really care about the guests. Skin fade master.Prices are competitive for what you get and the attention to detail in giving exactly what you want. Décor is super unique and homely, kinda feel like your in your grandpa’s garage with all the memorabilia.Places like these are what connects the community, it’s built into the fabric of the neighborhood.
