I prepaid for my reservation, but the vehicle I reserved was not available. Instead of upgrading me to the larger SUV (which was on site and available) the rude clerk at the counter downgraded me into a tiny Honda Civic. When I asked if he would adjust the price and issue me a refund for the difference (I PREPAID) he said I would need to call the reservation phone number. After being on hold for 30 minutes I was told that I actually needed to call the customer service line and was directed there to wait on hold an additional 30 minutes. Upon reaching a customer service representative I was told the best they could do was offer me a discount on my next rental. I asked to speak to a supervisor because that was a completely unacceptable solution for the situation, and then I was told there were no supervisors to talk to and given a number to call the next day if a supervisor didnt contact me. No supervisor ever contacted me so I had to call and wait on hold again for 20 minutes to reach a supervisor who then only offered to adjust the amount of my rental to the appropriate amount for the downgraded vehicle I received. This was an unacceptable offer to me seeing as I spent a lot of my own time to fix your companys mistakes. I feel that I should have received my rental at no-cost due to the inconvenience of the downgrade, the requirement of my time to resolve the issue (I DO NOT WORK FOR AVIS and my time costs $$$), and the dishonesty of the counter clerk, and complete lack of adequate customer service. This was an awful experience, and I would not recommend to anyone who values their time and money.

The online process was efficient and uncomplicated. Furthermore the rate structure utilizing the pay now feature for an unlimited mileage rental of a large SUV gave us a 32% savings over 3 other agencies. This allowed us to apply those dollars towards making more memorable experiences on our trip. The staff at Ocala International Airport was attentive, courteous and prompt and that made the overall experience warranting of my repeat business.

Mike was an absolutely excellent Avis agent. He helped me get my car even with a tropical storm coming. He helped me find the closest one way drop off location right next to my hotel on Miami Beach. because I am attending a very important convention.I highly recommend Avis at Ocala International Airport. Be sure to ask for Mike.

Reserved the car. Arrived at my correct time to pick it up.. first off, no overnight parking.. had to drive off site, call a friend to pick me and do me off at Avis.. then, no car available. 2 hours sitting on their waiting bench with a 6 year old before a car was available. Next, not cleaned properly because they had to get it to me. Worst experience ever with Avis!

As with any experience with any business it begins with a customers first point of contact with the first person you meet, my experience was successful because of the person at the front desk for Avis, he showed concerned about my well-being (covid -19) and the success of my trip he demonstrated that by meeting all our as it pertains to my wife and I having a successful trip. The first vehicle we were presented with would not have accomplished what we needed as far as getting our son to the University for his first year of college, first he listen, understood the problem, and immediately went to work to solve it. It meant a lot to me and my family and we want to thank Avis for helping us to have a successful trip.

I would give them ZERO stars if I could. Rented a van for 1 day, was charged $8878 because someone there was too lazy or too stupid to put down the correct outgoing mileage - same with the person who checked me in - too lazy or too stupid. Plus obviously the company has ZERO Quality Control built into their system. Now having to fight to get that charge reversed. Would NEVER rent from them again.

The car was not in very good condition it had a noise in the drivers front area. And most of all I am upset that although I made a mistake and forgot my sun pass in the car I am still not able to get anyone to find it even after given all the needed info.

First, the registration for both vehicles I was given were expiring during my rental time. I returned the first, but the second had the same issue. Luckily I was not stopped by law enforcement. I understand COVID-19 is causing issues for everyone, however I had no problem renewing my registration during this pandemic. With that said Avis needs to to better. I should not have to worry about an expired registration on a rental car. Lastly, my rental was not checked in the day I returned it. I returned my rental on-time at approximately 2:58 PM on July 05, 2020. The agent at the counter stated his computer malfunctioned and needed to be rebooted. He advised me that my rental would be checked-in within 5 minutes. My rental was not checked in until about noon the next day July 06, 2020. This is unacceptable customer service. I understand the computer issue, but he should have done what he promised a customer, especially when his actions could have cost me money. This is the second time something like this has happened. The only difference is the last time it did cost me time and money. Luckily, I was able to get a refund. After the prior issues I decided I would not rent from Avis again, but gave the company another chance. My goodwill was repaid with another customer service failure. After this incident, I can no longer rent from Avis. It is unfortunate, but I do not like dealing with preventable problems when conducting business.

This was my third time renting or returning a car with Avis/Budget at Ocala International airport. The other two visits were 5 star however I had a problem this last time. I returned the rental with a full tank of gas however, when I got my bill I was charged $19 extra. When I called corporate they said it was because I brought it back without a full tank. When I provided proof of the gas purchase, they agreed to reimburse me which was great customer service. In the future, I will insist someone comes with me to check out the car before I leave.

When I picked up the car, I had to wait 45 minutes for it to be cleaned, when they delivered it to me it was dirty, and full of “FLIES”and it was not full of gasoline, when I returned it, the car was quite clean better when I went to pick it up, (“ I advise people who do not rent cars in this Avis, do not go with the white man “) you think he is helping you but he charges you DOUBLE when you leave the car.

It was easy to reserve and pay ahead via the app. When I walked in to pick up car, they had me out literally within a few minutes. Great cars, although the change oil sign came on, they made sure I was well taken care of, again in matter of minutes. They are my go to and if no cars are available, I really don’t see myself booking anywhere else!

This car rental agency is the worst of the worst. we rented a car by phone, they sent us a confirmation number with a photo of the car price and others and within 10 minutes we went to pick it up at the branch located at 1506 S Pine Ave, Ocala Fl 34471 and when we arrived the man was renting the same car to Another person and simply told us in very bad ways and very bad treatment that there was no car available, we called AVIS on 3 occasions where we had made the reservation and they began to pass the problem from one place to another and nobody solved the problem or He gave us an answer so I do not follow anyone who hires his services because they are very unethical of professionalism and have no seriousness or commitment to his clients

The car we were supposed to have was a Ford Edge and we ended up with a Mitsubishi so-called similar type vehicle. Nothing else was available, so we took this car. So many times you expect to rent a particular vehicle and almost always you get stuck with another car that truly does not compare. In situations like this, if the expected car is not available the rental representative should offer you another similar vehicle with an upgrade to the next size above. This would at least be a fair way to help ease the usual disappointment of the customer. This is not a rare case in not getting the car you were supposed to have received. This is more the norm without a doubt. A frustrating experience and one which should be corrected.

The car smelled like cigarettes smoke, it was unclean and no other Avis nearby had another vehicle for me to swap it out and I still payed full price for the vehicle. I called a few times to try to talk to someone about a partial refund due to the injustices within the car but I never received that either.

This was a great place to rent a car. The price was very reasonable, the staff was friendly and professional, and the process efficient. I got a call the day before to let us know that the car wouldnt be available until 10 instead of 8, saving me a trip. I didnt mind having to wait to pick it up, but I would have been unhappy if I got there and there were no cars. So they handled the situation just right!

Awful. Had a reservation for a week. Car wouldnt work in parking lot and was instead left with a different, smaller vehicle for my familys trip. Refused to call other locations for me or offer for a search of available types of my reservation in areas on my way up, youre on your own. Other locations I called were rude, we dont have anything available for days, you shouldve reserved and hung up on me.Will utilize a different rental company from here on out. Good riddance.

What ever you do please don’t ever do business with this company! They will charge your card double with no explanation! Run while you canI had my rental cars lost by a valet company. It required me to have the car towed. I was charged 476 for lost key and towing. Then two weeks later I was charged again for lost key and towing in the amount of 443. Everyone I talk to with Avis customer service says they can’t understand why I was charged twice but No one has yet to fix the issue! Please if you can avoid it don’t use this company for your rental car needs

They won’t honor your reservation but they will allow you to rent a car if you walk up at twice the price. I was even told to please come back after one employee was finished with his lunch. It takes me 45 minutes to get out there. Needless to say, they did not have a car to rent me unless I wanted to pay double the price. I do not recommend. You will be stranded at the Ocala private airport and there is no public transportation, and there is no where to go on foot from there.

Friendly and helpful staff. Weve rented four vehicles recently. Although some of the vehicles we reserved werent available, we were accommodated for our time and still received nice vehicles. Only cons are I wish the vehicles were cleaned once theyre returned so the new customer can receive the keys and leave instead of having to wait for it to be cleaned. Also, the wait time for the deposits to be refunded back to our credit cards are quite lengthy. Well definitely use this Avis again for our rental needs!

Sam and his guys were excellent. I reserved a Suburban sized vehicle for our vacation and the day of pick-up they held the vehicle for me despite several people arguing to rent it. The car was spotless and perfect for our trip. I have rented from Sam several times and always received excellent service. Although the Ocala airport is not the most convenient location for me I will continue to use this location because their service, attitude and product is excellent.

Will never rent from Avis again, despite being a preferred member. Unfortunately Ocala gets the nod for this. I picked up a rental, discovered it had a flat tire after driving off. Called to exchange the car, was told to come on back, but make sure I filled the car with gas (seriously??). Given a new car, my reservation was never updated with the new vehicle. I returned the car early and at a different location than originally requested for my one way rental due to an approaching tropical storm. Was told by Avis customer service that I could return the car early and be refunded because of the storm. Upon returning the car, the counter guy was totally confused about the situation, but gave me a receipt with an expected charge on it. They still never updated my reservation with the right car. Several days pass and I still hadn’t been charged, then suddenly a $1,790 charge hits my card. I called Avis and was told I haven’t returned the car yet, so I’ve been charged the fees associated. To this day the issue has yet to be resolved and every rep I talk to is confused. Will never rent from them again.

Made reservations by phone 2 days prior to needing the car, went in to pay and pick up and was told they have to run a credit check unless we had 2 credit cards,why? 1 credit card wasnt enough? And Really, a credit check!!! Wth! Its not like we were going to purchase a car, bad customer service. My husband and I were going on a very special vacation and rented our car from the Ocala facility. It was so convenient and reasonable to drop the car off at Orlando airort. Much better than paying for a shuttle service. Avis has always been a quality company to deal with for customer service and competitive pricing. The rep even got me a better price for my return rental from Orlando that I had originally reserved. One thing, I took the car with a full tank and paid the gas up front. I should have filled the car with gas at the drop off location, as I only used a quarter tank of gas and paid for a full. My mistake. I did learn though on the return trip.

I needed to transfer my car reservations from Ocala Florida to Orlando/Stanford International due to mishap on flight reservations. It was decided and recommended by the associate named San to just rent a car from Orlando/Stanford International for 1 day and move my original reservation in Ocala back 1 day. My mother has suffered a stroke while visiting a relative in Florida and can no longer fly. She needs transferred back to Ohio by auto. As a recently retired military vet of 31 years, I am on a limited budget and need to save wherever I can. San was courteous enough to save me a few dollars and square away my reservations. His professionalism and expertise quickly resolved my situation. I will no doubt rent my next vehicle from AVIS.

I rented a car online for a special price 45 minutes before rental time they called and I couldnt pick up cause I was already on my way there, they left a message saying they didnt have the vehicle I rented by they had plenty I tried calling back but was the whole 45 minutes I was on hold, when I got there they didnt give me the price I rented it for which was $30.00 they wanted $90.00 instead they didnt want to give it to me for my reserved price they did the switch and bait. At approximately 1:36 pm, I booked a Specialty (Ford Mustang) car at the Ocala International Airport location with a reservation time of 2 pm.The website stated the car was available.The Rental Location did not call me.I arrived at 2 pm.  The agent at the counter told me he did not have the car category I rented and that he could give me a small car.  I said, Shouldnt I get an upgrade and not a downgrade?He said no, he could offer me a small car.I called Avis Customer Service and the rep on the phone was told about the situation.  Stephanie (the rep) told me to ask the agent if the Challenger I saw in the available Avis Rental spot was available.I asked the agent and he said no, I asked if it had already been rented and he said yes.  I believe he lied to me.I told Stephanie on the phone and she said she could transfer me to the other Avis location in Ocala for the car rental (1506 S Pine Ave, Ocala, FL).  She said the price would remain the same (95.64).  I accepted and was then driven to the other location.I arrived at the other location and was told they had no cars available.I called Customer Service again and explained the whole situation.  The rep said that since I had been through two locations, she would transfer me to the supervisor.  I was transferred and explained the whole situation.  The supervisor said he showed that the Ocala Airport location had many cars available.I said I believed the agent at the Ocala Airport location was baiting and switching with the advertised price and then only letting people rent economy cars with that price.  I then said I would be willing to travel to the Orlando International Airport location for the rental.The supervisor said they had the original category of car available and that it would only cost two dollars difference - $137.32.  I said, the reservation was for $95.64.  He said that since I transferred my reservation it cost more.  I said, Stephanie did that and she promised it would stay the same price.He said I could file a complaint with customer service and they would adjust the price.I took his transfer to Alex and explained the entire situation to the next customer service representative.  He said he could get me a discount on the car I requested, it would only cost $137.32.I said, I wanted the car at the originally quoted price and he said he would not be able to do that.  I said, then at least let me have a discount on a future car rental for the time and bait and switch practice that occurred today.  He said he would and I said ok, with that discount, what is the price of a Mustang at Orlando International Airport?  He said 137.32.It was the same price I could book the car online with the promo code on Avis website.The original call to Stephanie took place at 2:11 pm.  The later call took place at 2:41 pm and took 48 minutes.After two hours of being jockeyed on the phone and driving around, Avis would only give me the original reservation for at least $40 more and hours more of my time.  I believe it is a common bait and switch practice with Avis.  Even at this time, the original reservation (Specialty - Mustang) is still at the Ocala International Airport location for $40 a day and showing available on the website.I do not recommend using this scamming, bait and switch company. I have filed a complaint with the state.

The owner of this Avis/Budget Rent A Car is Sam Arkoub. As you can see from other reviews, he is rude, discourteous, and not worthy of your business. I rent from budget on a regular basis, and even setup a reservation in advance, which seemed meaningless to them. After asking me for tons of information, they informed me my card had been declined and they could not rent to me. I called my card company and they said there was no record of a charge at all. I explained this to Sam, and asked him to honor the original deal from Budget, and he exclaimed that Discover Card was lieing to me, and that I had been declined. He kept telling me to look at his computer, and explained to me that the reason it was declined is because I do not have sufficient funds. He treated me like a criminal, and refused to even acknowledge the possibility that they had run my card incorrectly. I went and rented from Hertz instead. Budget and Avis are good companies, this is a bad operator. If you want Budget/Avis go rent in downtown Ocala instead.

I will never put myself thru that again payed for a car 2 weeks in advance and went to pick up the day needed and found out that I could not rent without a deposit no problem put it on my Visa Debit card unfortunetly they do not accept your deposit on your Visa debit take the payment for the rental car but not the deposit need another credit card to put a $100 deposit on.
