A nice gym with some very nice amenities. Dry sauna, steam room, pool, and spa are all top notch. Staff mentioned they are installing new drinking fountains and I hope they have the bottle fill option.The variety of equipment is high. The weight range of the dumbells, the trap bar, and squat rack were very helpful to have available.The staff was helpful and after the brief tour, we decided to join.
I am here almost daily.. GREAT SPA AREA steam, hot tub, pool. Excellent staff, love this place. But it needs some building repair love from corporate. A Centrifuge to dry bathing suits would be great. I ask for one everything they email me. 😁
Rusty weights. Broken machines. Uneven floors in the free weight area. Trash cans in random places to catch water leaks.The only nice thing about this gym is its large with plenty of room/equipment.
Cool gym but what is the deal with the water fountains? Only one works and it’s in the pool room. And all the hot tubs look like lake water.
It use to be better ...... I see no cleaning, the machines stay broken, the air is at minimum level at best . They do have a few great trainers . Just wish they would do more clean up and fixing ... water Leaks everywhere. Some showers dont work. Not as happy with this place as I once was but its a workout place 😒😬

Not a bad gym, but quiet a few broken down machines, could use some updating, paint and some maintenance.I really hate the sales pitch from the personal trainers.If they step up their game a little bit, it could be really really good.

I love this gym, the staff is unbelievably welcoming and always go the extra miles to help you. When I am in town this the only gym I go to. They have sauna, steam room, great weight room and cardio. It’s open and spaces and plenty room do your own workout. If I lived in Oak Ridge it’s no brainer that I would invest with this club. I highly recommend this gym .

Been a member here awhile. The mens locker and restroom needs some odor control. The roof constantly leaks, they seem to be loosing carabineers as of late. They have somethings to work on but I can still get in a good gym day!

We just joined this gym prior to the pandemic and when the gym reopened I was very pleased to see Golds was taking necessary precautions and especially the fact they have hired someone to clean the gym equipment and the entire gym throughout the day. It gives me peace of mind. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Golds I hope you read your reviews and stay on course, keep up the good work
Was told I they had a great promotion which is the same price as their basic plan. Specifically asked if it was an agreement or month to month, in which Dan told me it was not.I always ask for my paperwork because I work with selling service agreements and I know how easy it is to be sleezy and lie, which unfortunately happens all too often In any commission based pay scale.After my workout I read my paperwork in the car. He signed me up for a one year agreement without my knowledge and also never even showed me any of the paperwork (obvious red flag). The paperwork for my agreement states that even if I do not go to the gym I have to pay in full and also there is an early termination fee of 149.99 for a one year agreement.I then went in to ask about the paperwork because people can make mistakes, giving him the benefit of the doubt. When asked what the pay if full option was he said he didnt have access to it. When I asked why it quotes a early term fee he had no answer. I was just real with him saying I know you probably got paid more for signing me up for this, but I sell products on 2 year agreements all the time. And I do whats right and I let my customers know before they sign anything. He then replied well my manager just tells me to tell everyone its a special promotion and not an agreement. Sleazy business, Id recommend checking out other golds gyms NOT this gym specifically.
I have been trying to obtain a refund from this company for over a month now. I was double charged for a bill. I tried to speak with someone over the phone for over 3 days regarding the billing issue and was always told that the manager wasnt in the office right now he will call you back later. Never received a phone call back. I sat on hold waiting for someone to come to the phone and ended up driving to the location to be told that the MOD Tommy had been on vacation the past few days. Tommy advised me that he would be able to issue me a partial refund. I accepted and decided that I would give them another chance. This was on 10/02/19. I have since received no refund and no call back from golds. I have called in and spoken in person with the new Manager Aaron. He has advised me 3x that he is working on getting this resolve however nothing has been done. I tried again today to call to cancel my whole account and was advised someone will be calling me back AGAIN.DO NOT sign up for a contract here. They dont call you back and they have HORRIBLE customer service.
This gym is honestly my favorite! Ive been apart of Planet Fitness, Workout Anytime 24/7 and National Fitness Center. Out of all the gyms I have been apart of, this one is the best. For the amazing space, quality of equipment, and awesome staff this is definitely the best bang for your buck!! I will never join another gym ever again.

The location of this gym is great and close to everything. I enjoy all the different classes they have to offer, especially the pool. The staff does a great job at keeping the facilities clean, and Angeliccaa at the front desk always has a smile when she greets me.
My buddy and I compete in powerlifting and strongman and they have a very comfortable and relaxed environment with machines for every workout we need. The staff is very friendly and informative about health precautions. It’s a great place!!!!
Awesome gym! All of the stuff is so friendly and welcoming! My favorite part is how clean the gym ALWAYS is and the sauna! If you are looking for a new home gym definitely give them a chance!
This gym is amazing!! Clean, has amazing housekeepers and staff who care about the gym. The franchise is doing great with this place. I would recommend this gym 10/10 each time to anyone.
I joined this gym as it was first to open after the pandemic. I was reluctant thinking that Golds would be filled with grunting muscle heads! I was wrong! (I am a 48 yr old woman) Great mix of people all around! Front staff is friendly and machines are cleaned often! Good mix of equipment and enough free space for independant workouts. The sauna / steam / pool is not open yet but look forward to using these amenities!

She is keeping me informed of the updates to my account and I am thankful for her assertiveness. Thank you Angeliccaa and Golds Gym for the opportunity to work out at a great facility! I love the spin bikes and the cleanliness of the facility. I also cant wait for Zumba to start again. Liz Davis-Harding is the best at keeping people motivated and pumped up! When new people come she welcomes then like a member of the family. She compliments and encourages us throughout the class. She is not only an amazing instructor but has a heart of gold!
Just left the Golds Gym theres a hanging sign above the door that says open 24 hours yet this is my third attempt to go outside of the normal schedule hours since posting the sign and theyre still not open also still charging me $40 a month when the sign clearly says 10 makes you wonder if the general manager/company understands the concept of false advertising or just enjoy lying to people.

This gym has been emailing me Kids Club receipts and spam for over a year for a member with the same name. I dont have kids, have never been a member of Golds Gym, and never been to Tennessee. The manager promised to fix the issue and never did. WATCH YOUR PERSONAL DATA - this franchise clearly doesnt care if it gets mixed up and sent to other people for 18 months or more.
Smaller than most Golds gyms Ive been to. There were a lot of equipment I couldnt find so my workout wasnt all that great.

BEWARE** I had Golds gym way back when they were the rush. They rolled everything over, and things were fine until I wanted to cancel with them. I went in to cancel in April. They drafted my account in May and said they didnt have a copy of my cancellation request. This time went in AGAIN and signed another cancellation form (canceled my debit card so they could not draft my account) and the same thing happened again. They billed me, I did not pay, then they sent me to collections. Oh it takes 30 days to process a cancellation even though my original agreement with the gym states that Im paying for my first month AND last.Called to speak with a manager NUMEROUS times. NO call backs. No response to my emails.SHAME ON YOU GOLDS GYM. YOU SENT ME TO COLLECTIONS WHEN I OWED YOU NOTHING.
I had a similar experience to Tim. Came in town for the Christmas holidays. I have been visiting this club for many, many years as a guest. Used to be The Rush. The General Manager, Brian Hayes, is smug, rude, and could care less about customer service or concerns. I bought a guest pass for myself and my son. It cost $15 per person per day. A week pass is $45 per person per day. I told Brian we would be here 3 days. He suggested a week pass. I paid $90 for both of us. On my 3rd visit, I explained that my son is sick and cannot work out. We are also going home that day. I requested a $15 refund since that is the daily guest fee. He said no refunds, which is completely ridiculous and unfair. Again, he acted smug and rude. I purchased a week pass on Brians suggestion and now he wont provide a 1 day refund. I asked Brian for his managers name and he first said he didnt have one. After I questioned him, he wouldnt provide a name. Ive been coming here for over 10 years and this will be my last time ever. This club purchased The Rush several years and other than paint nothing has changed. Equipment is old and several pieces of cardio are out of order. Like Tim, I will be driving 1 mile town the road to Maxed Out Gym. I travel alot and I have never had such a bad experience at a gym. I hope the $15 was worth it. After speaking with several members of the club, they are not surprised by Brians response.

I’m giving this place 2 stars not because of the facility but because of my experience with the general manager. I came to town with a group of guys from out of state for work. We all filled out the free gym pass form and provided our out of state addresses. We all received calls from local golds sales people and explained we were coming in for a few workouts but leaving town. When we arrived we were abruptly headed off by the manager, who was smug, unfriendly and terse. He explained we could not use our passes if we were from out of state. Not wanting to burn the sales people we talk to, we told him we understood and asked that because we had given her true addresses and had already receive calls confirming we were coming and had not been told we were not going to be able to use our passes that he honor them anyway. We then explained we would be coming in for two additional days and paying the day fee. The manager would not agree to the deal. He told us we had to pay for a week pass no exceptions (Not a quote). Under normal circumstances we would’ve all just paid the week pass and moved on But after dealing with the GM we were all pretty turned off from using the facility. We ended up going down the street to a gym called maxed out fitness who received all eight of our businesses for three days. I really think that manager needs an attitude adjustment. Sidenote maxed out fitness was an awesome gym that had all the same amenities as golds.
This fitness facility has improved since its acquisition by Golds Gym. (It was formerly Rush Fitness.) There are many aerobic exercise machines such as elliptical trainers, treadmill, exercise bikes and climbers. There is a comprehensive collection of weight-lifting machines - which I use - and free weights - which I dont use and know little about. There are regularly scheduled aerobics and Pilates/yoga classes. The pool has been clean when Ive used it. The locker room is a decent size and theyve recently upgraded the water controls in the showers so they no longer leak and it is easier to adjust the temperature. There is usually a wide range of ages of folks there when I work out, men and women in their early twenties through retirees. And as is typical of Oak Ridge (and in contrast to most of the surrounding communities), there is a mixture of folks of various ethnicities. The folks at the front desk are friendly at all hours of the day, and the one interaction I had with management regarding the billing for my membership was a positive one.

Depending on my work schedule, I frequent several of the Knoxville area Golds Gyms. I have two primary complaints:1) This is the only gym Ive ever been to where house music is played at a reasonable volume (no issues there), but inevitably, there will be a bootcamp or class going on where their music is blaring in addition to the house music, which disrupts everyone. Play your separate music for the classes, but please close the doors. If you need music for your bootcamp/training sessions, take them into a separate room. Today, there was house music, class music, and training music all at once, and all that could be heard over my headphones. Simply disrespectful. Ive never had this issue at any other gym besides Oak Ridge.2) Wax the treadmill belts. I use to work at a gym in college and several times a year we would re-wax under the treadmill belts as a part of standard maintenance. On top of prolonging the life of the equipment, it makes it much safer. Im 225 lbs, and I cant run on half the treadmills without them catching due to improper service.Everything else is average. What limited interaction I have with the staff has been ok. I just dont understand how we can stray so far away from basic maintenance and common courtesy. I miss the Rush!

February 18, 2018. Once again this gym does not open on time. Suppose to open at 7:00 AM. It is now 7:25 and no staff in sight. Members sitting in the parking lot waiting. Since changing their hours, this is the 4th time that I personally know of that they open late. Who is running this gym? Just Horrible!
If I could give this gym zero stars, I would. I have been battling being overcharged for the last 3 months. I am constantly assured by Sean McCall that it wont happen again and that they will fix it and nothing happens. Ive been in to see them, I have followed up with emails, I have called. They try to avoid you and avoid the problem and just hope you go away because they are incapable of helping. I literally do NOT know how a business managed so poorly is functioning.
Absolutely horrible cusomter service. I had additional funds taken out of my bank that I did not sign up for. I’ve called customer service multiple times and the recording will not allow me to speak with anyone to see what’s going on. I’ve tried so many times and I’m frustrated at this point. I should have cancelled it within my 30 days before I got stuck in this contract. I’m truly regretting not going to another gym. This is my 3 time trying to be apart of this gym and everytime I have had issues with billing. Never again!!
Great place to workout
I got to the gym at 5:09 AM on 3/27 so that I would have enough time to complete a full workout before going to work that morning. When I arrived at the facility there were 15-20 waiting to go into the gym because staff were not there to open it on time (5:00 AM). I waited until 5:30 AM and no staff had shown up. I was told by other people waiting that this is not the first time this has happened. Frankly Im surprised by this lack of professionalism and am questioning why they have the price structure they do if they are not going to have their facility open during their stated hours.

This place is a rip off.. u got to pay first n last month up front. I tried to cancel my membership 3 days before it was time to pay n they told me it was to late to cancel, they had to take the payment.. she seid but u get to come 2 more months.. I dont wont to go if I did I wouldnt have dropped my membership.. 2 weeks n they r still taking money out.. How can u charge someone member fee if they ant a member????
The facility is nice but the customer service and workers are horrible.I needed a day pass at the end of December 2016 and the clerk charged my card twice which is fine because mistakes happen. When I asked him if he could refund it he said no and that I would have to call corporate. I asked if he had the contact info and he said no and that I could look it up in the internet.When I called corporate they said it was a store issue and that I would have to talk with the store. I told them I wasnt going to play phone tag and that they needed to handle it. I didnt hear back from the first person I talked to so after I week I called back and got another lady. To make a long story short I still havent gotten my refund back and its been over a MONTH! 15 bucks for a day pass is overpriced also.

Very dissapointed with the new hours closing at 8 on saturday is pure BS...many of us work till 8 and this copletely screws everything up. Will have to rethink staying...i can see 24/7 definitely getting some new members with these new hours.

The machines and facility were more outdated than Workout Anytime ($15 a month there). I confirmed with the employee at the front desk that my membership was ended and I would not be charged again. However 2 months later while paying off the credit card I noticed they were still charging me. I called and explained the situation and after being given the run around they finally told me No, sorry we cannot give you a refund). They couldnt even meet me halfway and refund me one of the two months.

They had a promotion for $4 to try a membership. My wife canceled before the month trial was up but they have a 30 day prossessing time? That makes it impossible to opt out before the contract starts. Anyway my account was charged $100 today. Thanks for that.

HOT TUB WAS NASTY AND THE POOL HAD A TAMPON IN THE POOL DRAN NASTY AND THE FLOORS ARE STICKY . SOMEONES NOT DOING THERE JOB. I WENT THIS WEEKEND AND IT WAS CLEAN AND ENJOYED IT THANK YOU FOR CLEANING THE POOL I WILL GO BACK.I HAVE WENT BACK AND NOW IT IS CLEAN THANK YOU
