I had an oil change done this morning. Excellent price and quick service. I appreciate the fact when you bring your car in, they examine the car and did a test drive. They noticed a slight noise in my steering column that I had just noticed a couple days ago. The mechanic gave me a print off a bulletin Hyundai had put out regarding a noise in the steering column which he thought was the problem. They are so friendly and helpful, I trust them and with me knowing so little about cars, being able to trust a mechanic is priceless. I would highly recommend them.

I think we all have fears going to an auto mechanic and being ripped off. Not sure why that is but most likely because we have no idea on how to repair a car. Marks Auto is hands down the best auto repair option on the island. Between Brett and the rest of the maintenance team, and Ryann and the rest of the guest interaction team I have never felt better taken care of in my life. I was nervous about finding a reputable place in Oak Harbor for some brake service on my 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew cab. After a few days of research, I found consistent high reviews for Marks Auto Repair. The common thread was the customer service and quality of work. The pricing is down the middle for most services, but still fair and reasonable. Aggie even drove me back to my house while the service was being performed. They were thorough in their inspection and also offered a few quote options after the inspection. I was also treated like an old friend by the staff in the front and they are very personable. I have found my mechanic shop for anything else needed for my truck. I would not hesitate to recommend Marks for the quality of work, price, fairness, honesty, and great customer service.

From the first moment I spoke on the phone to Marks Auto, I knew they were going to earn my business because they were polite, friendly and they listened to everything I had to say. Furthermore, they scheduled an appointment for me that was only two days out and they actually called during the repair to let me know how the job was going. To my surprise they even saved me some money because the technician was able to determine that I didnt need new Tie Rods that another repair shop said I did. I thought that was especially cool because they could have easily done me wrong but they were honest and that makes a big difference.

Lori at the front was so pleasant and helpful, I feel bad, I forgot the mechanics name. But he was very informative and made sure I knew exactly what was going on! Very good price and great service! When im back in town and anything goes wrong, ill stop here again!

Marks was amazing! I just flew into town and leave for a country long drive tomorrow but I needed an oil change before I left. I called nearly every auto shop in mount Vernon but everyone was booked or unreasonably expensive. Marks was able to get me in same day. Typically, I go to Walmart for my oil changes and I don’t get any feedback about the car, but Marks has a whole checklist they go through free of charge with the oil change and told me I needed new brakes and to check my transmission fluid, which I never would have known to even ask about otherwise. They even had an estimate for my brakes ready before I asked for it. While I was waiting, I heard the desk lady talking to customers on the phone and she seemed to know everyone who came in pretty well and had a good relationship with each of them. It’s too bad I’m leaving because I would absolutely have made this my exclusive car shop.

I had some sort of solid object lodged into my rotor which scorched the heck out of it and then dislodged into my caliper, cracking it open which led to brake fluid leaking all over the brake pads and rotors. I dont know a lot about cars so Im going off of what they told me. I may have misinterpreted some of the details. But anyways, they fixed my car within a day.The last auto repair shop I went to tried telling me I needed new rotors and break pads in the back. I went against his advice because I was pretty sure mine were just fine. That was almost a year ago. Marks Auto Shop did a safety inspection on my car and told me they were perfectly fine! So its good I didnt dish out $600 to that other guy. I was grateful that Marks isnt one of those shops trying to squeeze as much money out of me as possible for things I dont need done. Im on a tight budget so it was also nice that the prices werent extremely high.I spoke to Ryan at the front desk, she was absolutely wonderful. I can be difficult sometimes but she was very helpful and extremely patient with me! I also spoke to Cecil, the mechanic, and he was very informative and explained things in great detail so I could understand what happened and what needed to be fixed.Overall great experience. There was a hiccup when it came to picking up my car due to a city wide power outage. I was unable to get my car when I needed it and no one informed me that they were closing a 5 hours early, so I wasnt too happy when I got there to pick up my car and no one was there. I never received an email or phone call either which was upsetting. However, I messaged them on Facebook and heard back from Aggie within an hour. She met me at the shop after hours so I could get my car! Dhe was extremely apologetic and very very sweet! That was awesome of her to do that and very much appreciated!I must say, the employees at Marks Auto Repair are wonderful people!I will be going to them for any future checkups or fixes!!

Does it in fact take your shop 2+ weeks and counting to call a referred prospective customer back with a bid on a standard / basic repair??? If your shop is too busy and doesnt want my business I would appreciate your at least calling to say so -- the professional thing to do would be to contact me and provide a referral to another shop that can do the task and and wants my money.

Mark is not only a great mechanic but a great guy as well. I know absolutely nothing about cars and he knows it. He doesnt take advantage of that fact. He likes to educate his customers so they understand what is going on. There have been many occasions where he has had me follow him back to my car and hell pop the hood and start showing me this and that. His honesty is refreshing and greatly appreciated. Ive been taking my car to him since i was 18, and I will never take my car to anyone else.

They were great! Mark and his wife Aggie are terrific! Especially Aggie. While Mark did the work replacing my transmission, Aggie was the star on customer service. Put my mind at ease, and picked me up at home to get my car. Will definitely do business here again, and recommend it to friends.

Mark has been our mechanic for years. He has our highest trust and we know him to be an honest man. You dont have to worry about getting any unnecessary repairs, nor worry about the quality of his work; its always the best. He always takes the time to talk to us about what work was done or needs to be done, and on more than one occasion he has done minor fixes for free. We cant recommend him highly enough.

I chose this auto repair shop because of the good reviews but as a prior mechanic myself and educated consumer, I have to give my honest opinion now. I took my vehicle here to seek repair work and found out I was being significantly overcharged for diagnostics, parts, and labor. I came to this assessment after calling local auto part stores and getting a second quote from another repair shop. I was also told by Marks auto that I needed work on things that were not needed. I will not be going here again.

Called in and told the shop my car wouldnt start. The owner came over right away and fixed the problem within 10 minutes. He didnt even charge me. If I ever need my car repaired I know where I am taking it from now on. Would highly recommend this business.

One of the top shops in town. They even have dogs to greet you in the office!I have taken my rhd Daihatsu Hijet to them on two occasions. First was to replace a front right axle cover, which I already had a new axle itself, so the replaced the whole thing. Also did a good enough wheel alignment as my front wheels were toe in.Second was when my engines crankshaft broke. I had a new engine shipped from Yokohama Motors in Japan to the shop and they replaced the whole engine and clutch. Mark also lowered the high idle problem it had beforehand. It took awhile for it all to be done... but that was also because how busy the shop can get. And waiting on parts from out of state/country. All in all, the end result was what counted.Marks deals in almost anything with wheels, and also classics and is very honest with everything.. Everytime I stop by, they have something nice out. Always fun to visit, but very busy. Still highly recommend!

Very crooked with sickeningly high mark ups, told me the cost of service over the phone, and almost tripled the estimate when I went in. Will NEVER recommend with that kind of service.

My car broke down right before I went on vacation. Had it towed to Marks Auto Repair and they kept me in the loop the whole time with great communication, they were patient and understanding when I told them I wouldnt be back for awhile and kept my car in their lot. I came back and my car runs great!! 5 stars will definitely recommend them to others.
