Awesome place. Multiple years ago I was told I needed some repair/replace work done on a suspension thing (Im a computer guy not car lol) and it wouldve been multiple hundreds of dollars. Shortly after I switched to Sovels for oil changes and other work and they said it wasnt necessary at that point. Well its years later and my car is still running great.I think these guys are pretty honest and trustworthy. They can be busy at times but thats not surprising to me at all; they do good work and they do it quickly from my experience. Definitely recommended!

I took my Ford Edge here a few weeks back. I explained the sounds I was hearing and that I suspected it was something to do with brakes or suspension. Obviously, I’m not the mechanic here, those were my guesses. They looked at my car and told me nothing was wrong with it and it was safe to drive. A few weeks later I took it to another nearby mechanic and they told me that I had a bad wheel bearing, so bad that my rotor was rubbing against my brake pad without the brakes being applied. I don’t understand how another mechanic could’ve possibly missed this, especially being that it was a potential safety hazard should I continue to drive it. I’m leaving 2 stars instead of 1 because they didn’t charge me for a diagnosis, which is good because they didn’t diagnose anything. Kinda disappointing.

Took my 13’ Ford Fusion in for a tire alignment. My Radio/electrical worked that morning and when I got the car back by the end of the day my radio no longer worked. Called and left a message about the issue and they called back the next day immediately defensive saying that they didn’t have anything to do with the issue. They didn’t even offer to take a look at the issue to ease my worries (like any other shop would). 2 days later my battery is dead despite the fact that I have a newer battery (according to auto zone who checked my battery). P.s. have had issue with my vehicle here before but did not know until I took it to the Tom Holzer Ford dealership and they told me that there were missing pieces from the car that were replaced with zip ties I had only taken my car to your shop a few months prior

Great place. Make an appointment ahead of time and you can just drop your car off. Prices are okay, but the service was great.

These guy are beyond a shadow of a doubt thee very best auto service mechanics I’ve ever done business with. Quick, courteous & HONEST!!! They do quality work for an honest price. The only issue is everyone in town knows this so everyone brings their cars here. So you may have to wait up to a week to get it in. Worth it.

Was so pleasantly surprised with my Sovels experience, and am shaking my head that I wasted years and money taking my car to the dealership service center. On my appointment day, they called the same morning with a diagnosis and repair cost, and the repair was done by lunchtime at a very reasonable price. Sometimes it’s hard to find a mechanic that will listen to you and give you a straight answer. For the longest time I stayed away from mechanics such as these due to prior experiences that had me frustrated and out a lot of $$. Then along comes Sovel’s. If I can give them more than 5 stars I would! From start to finish they were courteous, quick, knowledgeable, and honest. The last one being very important to me. Not only did they diagnose the issue, they continued to investigate possible issues with the car and actually found a cheaper more effective solution. I’m thoroughly impressed and will recommend them to anyone who needs auto service.

Im normally a do it your selfer for car repairs so I was reluctant to have anyone else work on my car. Brian was great, saved me a lot of money vs. the dealer estimate and the repair was done on time and with quality.I plan on using them again for future repairs!

SOVEL’S AUTO SERVICE IN NOVI MII gave them my 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse for a very sophisticated electrical problem. They kept the car and put hours in on it trying to find the problem, but felt it would best be handled by the Mitsubishi dealership. They charged me nothing and recommended the dealer. Who does that today, put some hours in and not charge for it? I have used this service over the past five years and always have been very pleased with the results.

I am very nervous when it comes to car mechanics as I don’t know anything about cars; I don’t know when I’m getting ripped off.That being said, I will never go anywhere else again after my experience at Sovels. They went above and beyond, specifically Bernie, and there are no words to describe what it means to see that kind of service these days.I had recently had all my calipers replaced somewhere else and my car started leaking brake fluid on the front right. I brought it into Sovels and they quoted me what I thought was a super fair price. When I went to pick it up Bernie told me that the caliper had been installed incorrectly so he fixed it and then decided check all the others to see if they were installed wrong too. He fixed all of them! Thankfully the other 3 hadn’t broken yet but still, he could have just done the one he quoted me on and then cashed in when the other 3 ultimately failed but instead, he saved me a world of stress. THANK YOU!!!

They do not service all models as their website indicates. We took out 2014 Fusion in for a new water pump after waiting one week for an appointment and they said they wouldnt fix it because it was difficult and needed a special tool.

They are always polite and efficient. Old fashioned service. And they do NOT shame me because I know nothing about cars.Love this place.

Nothing beats a fair mechanic you can trust - that is Sovels - have only started recently going to Sovels after my old place closed and couldnt be happier. They give an accurate assessment of what you need - not what you dont. And they charge a fair price. Dealer wanted to put in a replacement for an issue that was going to cost more than $1000. Sovels was able to repair it for a fraction of that! About a year ago I bought new tires for my car and had them put on at a Midas. While the mechanic was working on my car he told me that my brake pads were down to 1/4th and I should consider replacing them. I decided to wait and so, a year later, I took my car here to get my brake pads replaced, oil changed, and tires rotated. I also asked them to look into a buzzing noise my car was making while steering.When I received the call to come pick up my car, they told me that they hadnt replaced my brake pads because I had over 1/2 of them left. They could have easily taken advantage of me and replaced them anyways to get a quick buck. So believe me when I say that these people are honest and trustworthy.As for the rest, they found that I had low power steering fluid, which was causing the buzzing noise, and went ahead and topped this off for free. On top of that, while I was driving home, I decided to try to squeeze out one more drizzle from my wiper fluid and was pleasantly surprised to find that they had filled that up as well! I know its a small act, but I think that this shows that they genuinely care.I am beyond happy with my decision to take my car here and will definitely be returning for future maintenance.

I have been coming here for so long. They arent like most mechanics. They are friendly and will tell you like it is. In my experience, they wont make up things to charge you with or overcharge you. They will look at your problem and fix it for a decent price. I trust them and you should too.

Great place to get any car work done. They do the job that needs to be done and do not dig for problems to run up your bill. Took my car here for multiple things including an ABS sensor that only took an hour to complete. Hands down best shop in the area.

Had them replace the breaks on my wifes vehicle and when we got the car back the new breaks were making a horrible screech. Took it back into the shop, the mechanics checked it out and said it was normal for this to be happening with new breaks. That was months ago and the screeching still has not gone away. Does not only make the sound at the initial start up after the car has sat all night but throughout the day coming to a complete stop or even just slowing down. Had my breaks replaced on our other vehicle at a different location and I have not even heard a squeak yet. Would not recommend this place.

Ive been bringing my cars to Sovels for six years because of their work ethic and honesty. However, a few weeks ago I noticed an issue with my truck and brought it in. I was told that their computer couldnt find any issues and to, in their own words, drive it until it gets worse then bring it back. Glossing over that gem of a diagnosis, I did drive it for the last two weeks, trusting their judgement, and today find that my truck will not start. They have been good to me in the past, but Im very disappointed as this might have been avoided with a better look the day I had brought it to them.

Air conditioning works and despite my little knowledge of cars I feel I was charged fairly. Fast service.

I might hate spending money on repairing my car but i know when i spend it at sovels i can be sure that the price is worth it due to their honesty. Ive taken my car to few other shops and always had problems but not once have i had a problem here. You couldnt put your vehicle in better hands if you were to leave it here for repairs or maintenance. Im really glad that they expanded recently too that only means quicker repairs

Recently I had the Ford dealership tell me I needed new brakes after ~30,000 miles, which seemed a little early and they quoted over $350. I called Sovels who gave me an estimate over the phone that was much less than the dealership so I took it to them on Saturday morning. They were very prompt with an update, calling just a couple hours after we dropped it off. They said I could get another 5,000-10,000 miles before it was necessary to change the brakes. I went to pick up the car expecting to pay a little bit for the labor even though I didnt end up needing the brakes, but they didnt charge me a dime.Overall, they were super friendly and I thought extremely trustworthy (They could have easily just done the work and charged me, or at least charged me a little bit to check the brakes (Ford charged $30 just to check)). I will absolutely be going back to Sovels with all of my auto repair needs from now on.

Another auto shop told me that my car needed work on the suspension and quoted me at $300. I took my car to Sovels for a second opinion and they confirmed that nothing was wrong. Like a previous reviewer mentioned, they could have said the same thing and done the work. They did not, and didnt even charge for the time inspecting my vehicle. Everyone I dealt with there was very friendly and professional. I will definitely be coming back.

I just left this repair shop very disappointed. I went in because my car was indicating low tire pressure. I walked in and was not acknowledged at all. I waited a little, then an elderly man with all white hair appeared from the back and just looked at me. There was no hi, good afternoon, how can I help you..... nothing. I asked if someone could look at my tire pressure today? He said NO. He pointed at a cup on the counter and told me to use the tire gauge and air hose in the front of the building. He then walked away. I couldnt believe it... Instead of getting upset I did exactly what he said and got all of my tires corrected. When I came back in to put the gauge in the cup, he was smiling and talking to another customer. I looked at him, smiled and said thank you. He totally ignored me, like I didnt exist. This is the worst non-service appointment I have experienced in years. I need other repairs completed on my vehicle, but I will never give this establishment a $$$$.
