I had a company come out to service our AC units on 3 separate occasions and they couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Hellas came out next day and was able to diagnose and fix the issue within 45 minutes. Great service and they know what they’re doing!

They do a decent job, but are not up front about additional charges they just decide to tack on after they do the work. We went from about $500 to $1000 in the blink of an eye (hired them to do a maintenance package, they decided that they wanted to charge more because they spent a little more time in the house.) Be careful, they are always looking to overcharge.

Overpriced, and short term solution, had to replace the whole system after the expensive and temporary fix.Had a refrigerant leak in the AC condenser, paid almost $2,000 to fill the freon. It worked less than 1 months. Now the refrigerant (R22) is empty and I have to replace the whole condenser. if i knew this would happen, I would not pay the initial temporary fix and replace the machine instead.For the record, they charge me the R22 freon $175/lbs, later we check the price with another contractor and they charge $125 /lbs (30% lower).

Really a great experience. They are very busy but they were responsive. They were also very upfront and descriptive about the charges. They called back to check in abs confirm the appointment. The tech was on time and made a point to let us know he was on the way. He even took his shoes off without asking. This was very much appreciated. He was honest and professional. He also told us what kind of filter we need to told us we do not to worry about cleaning the HVAC. Some companies would try and scare you into doing extra work. We feel they are very honest and trustworthy. We would highly recommend this business for your HVAC needs in Fairfield County.

I had several companies take a look at my air handler after standard oil said it couldn’t be fixed and would have to be replaced. Hellas service and responsiveness was great. The repairman that came was super nice and was able to identify the problem. Hellas was able to repair for a small fraction of what it would have cost to replace. The service technician that came to our home was extraordinary. He totally has the Carrier HVAC systems down cold (and hot!). The tech quickly and methodically identified the cause of our heating problem and fixed it. I could not be more pleased with Hellas Air Temp. They are the best.

I am a resident and home owner in Norwalk for many years and have discussed Hellas Air with neighbors and friends multiple times. Everyone has a similar opinion, they are a fraudulent company that tries to scam residents out of money. I personally have used them.twice.before learning this. Recently my Central AC u it broke down. I called them and scheduled a visit for next day. The technician showed up and did his diagnosis for about an hour. After that he came to us and said I have bad news. The compressor is toasted and since this unit is old it will need total replacement. He said he will be able to do it for about $7000. That evening I also decided to call another company. A technician came and found firing all mixed up. Fan wiring was connected to compressor wiring which burned the motor out. He replaced the fan motor and a capacitor for the compressor and everything fired right up. My AC now works as it always did and I did not have to.pay Hellas $7000. They sabotaged my system by wiring it wrong and frying the fan motor and then gave me a fake diagnosis so that I buy a new system. Scammers! I am actually planning on taking them to court in the next few months. Do you self a big favor and stay away.

Hellas came out late Sunday night on an after hours call. Very satisfied by their response. Alex was the tech that came out. Alex made great recommendations to be able to cool the house down that night. And took lots of time to explain what he believed was the problem. Service was scheduled for the next day as the compressor was frozen and could not be immediately worked on. Monday’s appointment could not be kept as Hellas has put all it’s resources on a emergency call in NYC. I was very disappointed by this. However, they more than made up for this inconvenience the following day. They were now scheduled for 12:30 - 1:30pm but we’re able to dispatch a tech out at 10:30am. The tech that came out was Jon. He was in one word “Excellent.” He was able to diagnose and remedy the issue effortlessly. Jon went beyond my expectations in resolving my A/C problem. He took correcting the issue to the next level. He knows his stuff and even made very useful suggestions on a project that was in the works at this house. To sum this up. Go with Hellas for all your HVAC needs.

I spent over #200 hundred for an emergency call during a call snap and got nothing! They couldnt fix my furnace. I spent the next 3 days in the cold with no heat. Then they charged me an emergency fee to come out again after several days with no heat! When they were her 3 weeks earlier and said everything was OK. What a racket! What a scam! I would give no stars but Google wont let me!

Ive been having Hellas maintaining our central air unit for a few years. They are very accommodating, on-time, calls to let you know where the service tech is before they arrive. The tech took off his shoes before entering our home. Through service and reasonable priced. I highly recommend them for home cooling and will be having them to perform our furnance maintenance on the fall.

Last Tuesday a wonderful young man arrived exactly at 7:30 to check our air conditioning unit. He was so polite, so quietly in charge and so efficient that I thanked and chatted a few minutes with him as he was about to leave about the bandage on my face. He was really wonderful. Hellias is lucky to have him and I do hope he comes back in the fall for the gas burner..

I have to say it is scary when something goes wrong with your heating system. You really never know what you are going to get with a company that you MUST reach out to in order to correct the prices. To make matters worse, our furnace (commercial space) is on top of a very unique and hard to get space. You really just have to hope for the best with a company. We have been burnt in the past so for me hiring a company to correct our heat being out was a very serious matter. I happened to see one of Hellas Air Temp Vans on the highway on my way into my business the day that I needed to address our heat issue. I just had this feeling this was the company to call. So in fact, I did just that. The person that answered my call was incredibly professional and kind. Right away I had a really good feeling. She got us right on the book for a trouble visit.The tech ( Dave ) arrived right on time and was ready to go to address our issue. He was also very kind and a true professional. I felt at ease with this company as soon as he walked in. Long story short, I could not be more happy with this company. The honestly factor and not being taken advantage of is a HUGE deal for me. He addressed our issue and corrected it. I was not in anyway OVERCHARGED. This is something that i think happens a lot with vendors. NOT THIS COMPANY - THIS COMPANY is not one of those over chargers that are out there. They are TRUE professionals, smart and know what they are doing and you can trust that your service costs with them will be a true bill without fluff. I’ve been using Hellas Air for several years now. The office staff and the technicians are professional and good at what they do.I like the maintenance contract where they come out and service my systems 2x a year. They call to set up appointment in fall and spring.Hellas helped me a few times after hours- nights and weekends - when I did not have any heat. I have an unusual boiler but they found the problem and fixed it.

I switched from oil to natural gas heat about a month ago and had Hellas do the work. I got several quotes and some of them were a rip off but most were in the same ball park. The Hellas quote was about average and the owner who came to give me the quote seemed to be a genuine and honest guy. The Hellas quote was the only one to use an indirect hot water tank which most online reviews said was a far better setup and more efficient than a regular gas hot water tank. Even with the better equipment and better setup requiring more work the Hellas quote was very competitive.When it came time for the work to be done there was an issue that came up with the permit from the town that would require some extra work that wasnt included in the quote they gave me. I thought I was going to have fight and argue with Hellas to get them to cover the cost of the extra work but they were very professional and said they would do the work at no extra cost! I didnt even have to bring it up. I was very impressed.Its been about a month now and I couldnt be happier. I would highly recommend Hellas Air Temp to anyone needing heating or cooling work. If you want quality work done and dont want to be ripped off then give them a call.

Called last night for an emergency repair. I specifically mentioned that we have a baby in the house and it was really hot without A/C working. I was told someone would call me back within 1 hour. I got a text message from them the next day offering a repair service on the 29th of May which was 8 days away! So much for 24/7 emergency service.
