Had my A/C installed and purchased by Polar Bear cooling and heating. I recommend them highly. Living in North Port we do know our water here is nasty. Issues that I had were taken care of. These guys are on time and professional. I appreciate them and I always like to see what they are doing. ... they are good.

My grandfather used them to install a brand new AC in his house. 2 days later the AC wouldn’t go lower then 75 degrees. I went to work and he called them, they came out and told him it wasn’t installed right and charged him over $500! He didn’t know any better and he paid them! Now we have to pursue further action against how this company. Do not trust them! They without a doubt took advantage of him! How do you install a brand new ac unit and then have an issue a day later and charge someone for the poor installation they were originally paid to do.

Excellent company to deal with- Fairly priced and they come when they say they will be there. I wanted a 3.5 ton unit because that is what i always was told to buy. Alex told me i should do a 3 ton. So i did and i didnt think it would do the job. Was i ever surprised- Going on the 3td month and i have more cool air with the 3 ton than i ever had with the 3.5. So Alex saved me $ on the purchase and i am saving $ monthly on cooling the house now. Thanx Alex. Your team is great including Installers Ivan and Vlad.

This is the second time I’ve had Polar Bear out to fix a problem with my AC. Both times they came quickly and they also had the best prices (the first repair another company wanted $3200 so we shopped around and Polar Bear did it for $1200!! I was still under maintenance contract with the other company and they complimented the work we had done to fix the unit on their next scheduled maintenance). I will be switching to Polar Bear for my maintenance going forward!!

Technician showed up quickly and was very professional. He recharged the refrigerant and was done in no time. We pretty much know our ac is slowly leaking the refrigerant out and will have to invest in a newer unit soon. They will try to help you bandaid your ac as long as possible without all the pressure of having to buy a new unit like some other ac companies do. Since a friend recommended them to us and we have used them a few times, we think there great and we recommend them to anyone who asks us who we use. Also when we priced out new units about a year ago thry were the best price and if you get the extended coverage they back the unit for 10 years. I am sure we will be using them when we go to install our new one.

I moved in to North Port, and a few months later found out the AC couldnt keep up with hot summer weather. I called Polar Bear, randomly, expecting a hefty emergency service bill. However, Polar Bear told me my system had been under service warranty with them, which I didnt even know of, bought by the previous homeowner. So I didnt have to pay for the service at all, which included gas fill up, then eventually replacement of the evaporator.They even gave me a copy of the original warranty. Very, very honest people!

Our system had been steadily declining in efficiency over the past few years so we decided to price a new one. Alex came out himself to quote the project and was very prompt, professional and straightforward. We decided to have Polar Bear do the work, so an install date was set. Once the day had come, there was an issue that had come up that prompted a phone call to ask to reschedule for the following week. When they were told that I had already taken the day off of work and rented a piece of equipment to take care of something while home, they honored the original date and time in lieu of their circumstances and took care of us on a day that rained for hours. The crew did a great job with the install and clean up, and even picked up some of my debris that was in the yard when the wind picked up. Much appreciated.

What a pleasant experience to find a company that does not try to sell you services & products that are not necessary. I answered an ad for spring tune up and the serviceman was on time, pleasant and capable with no up-sell pressure. Last night when I arrived home from a few months up north the house was hot....91 degrees outside. I called and got Alex at 10:00 pm and he walked me through proper setting for my humidistat and my problem was solved...cool air was soon flowing! Technician arrived at appointed time and did a great job of diagnosing the problem with my air conditioner. System has been installed for five years and the wires necessary to correctly operate the humidity control were not connected. Despite numerous maintenance visits from Boyd Brothers this reported problem was previously unsolved. I was convinced something must be wrong with my thermostat. The staff at Polar Bear suggested that the problem might be something very simple and sure enough it was. Polar Bear could have easily convinced me to spend $160 on a new thermostat instead they correctly diagnosed the problem and fixed it during a regular maintenance visit. Highly recommend Polar Bear as a reputable and reliable repair service.

Unbelievable!!! Alex, the owner of Polar Bear just left my house and told me I did NOT need to replace our system........at least not yet!! He gave me a few tips to keep the system running properly and to increase the air flow, answered every question I had and then left and refused to take any money for his trip up to our home in Sarasota!! I had four (4) other companies come out to give us a quote on replacing a 10-yr old Goodman system after I got ripped off by 7th Generation A/C and Heating when they came out to do a Special A/C Tune-up for $29.99 and during the tune-up told me we were about 3 lbs low on the R410-A coolant and then charged us $75/lb to re-fill the system!! The system had NEVER froze up or had any indication that it was not running properly. It had just been a couple of years since we had a tune-up done, so thats why we called 7th Generation. PLEASE......call someone other than 7th Generation if you need a tune-up, or any kind of repair. Oh, and just so everyone knows, the other three companies we had come out all said we needed to replace the system and should do it ASAP..........and all of their quotes were higher than what Polar Bear quoted us for a full replacement job. We will DEFINITELY use Alex and Polar Bear when it comes time to replace our current system. I recommend you do the same!!!!

My cousin Mary, has been a Polar Bear customer for 12 years and will be a PB customer for as long as possible.She just purchased a new central AC unit and true to his word Alexs crew was right on time. 9 am Tuesday morning, sharp.The 3 techs, Sergei, Vlad and Vlad, were all excellent, conscientious workers. Through no fault of their own, they ran into a bit of difficulty because of needing to reposition the air handler in a 180 degree different position. They measured carefully and fit the unit to within 1of the required position. It took a lot of extra work to level the unit andseal it correctly, but they did what was needed and installed the unit.Just because Im nosey and want to learn, I watched 85% of their work.Watching them check and recheck various aspects of the install was refreshing. You rarely see people pay so much attention to quality of workmanship anymore.If you want quality hardware, excellent installation and inexpensive, but good follow up service, give Alex at Polar Bear a call. Youll be glad you did.
