Very relaxing kayak. Perfect for people with little experience. River is scenic and close to North Myrtle Beach. Easy on and off the river. Better than the marsh kayak tours in my opinion.

Took my family on this tour it was great time for us all. At first a little bit rough with first timers but got easier as the guide explained how to guide each kayak. Our guide deserved much more tip then I gave him! Brought along water for my family and a extra hat if anyone needed, explained the tour and waters very well. Huge tip should be given when you have a great guide like we had on Monday August 9th at 1pm.

Did the two hour river tour with Bubba. He was a great tour guide- very knowledgeable of the area. This was a very casual kayak tour, not much skill required to navigate, although the currents were odd in a few spots, but Bubba guided us on how to approach them. Didn’t see much wildlife as there was a lot of recent rain and things were flooded up. The tranquility made up for it though.

My family had a WONDERFUL time kayaking the Waccamaw River. The staff were incredibly patient and professional! We really appreciated the added value of their photography so that we could enjoy the memories for years to come. The Cyprus trees and white sandy banks made the scenery breathtaking. We also saw a baby alligator, large snake and osprey. Can’t say enough about our experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bubba was a great guide. He was helpful and attentive. Offering water and checking on everyone. He was funny and very knowledgeable about wildlife and the area. We were able to pet and meet their horses, goat, and pigs. It’s a gorgeous route, entertaining for any level of experience.

Our tour down the Waccamaw river truly lived up to the companys name. It was a peaceful and beautiful escape from all the noise of everyday life. The guide was great and the whole experience was relaxing.

Great trip, I have visited N Myrtle Beach my entire life but, never have thought of kayaking. My wife and I took teenage son and daughter on river trip and had great experience. My daughter and I had such a great time we did Waties Island trip the next day.Bubba our guide was great. This will now be a regular part of annual beach trip. It was my favorite part of our vacation.

My family had a great time on our guided kayak tour with Taylor. We had a fun surprise when we got back to the camp site. The horses were just coming back from a 4 mile walk. My 4 year old and 12 year old had an unexpected ride on the horse and we visited with BLT the 450 pound wild boar. Such a fun night! Highly recommend!!!

Bubba did an awesome job as a kayak tour guide. At the end of the tour we got to see their horses, goats and wild boar BLT. Was a great experience and we will be back again.

The guide was also very nice, and the owners were super down to earth friendly people that treat you like family. Great place for family, friends, or even by yourself. Great Escapes was amazing! So accommodating. I booked a three hour river tour with Bubba and Bryce, who were so much fun to be around! Ive done my fair share of kayak tours in the surrounding area, and Great Escapes is easily my favorite. No need to look past this place, because it is the BEST OUT THERE!

The two-hour trip down the river was fantastic. I went on a tandem kayak on April 27th when the water was at a high level. Everything was beautiful and peaceful. Our guides were so helpful and informative and fun. It was a magical wonderland the entire way! And so nice to get a ride back upstream to the car!!

We did the 3 hour Kayak tour at 7am. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was an awesome experience! Would definitely recommend going and using Great Escape.

My friends and I had an amazing on the kayak tour with Sierra. The river is so beautiful and I 100% recommend it for a friends or family trip. The farm was also very beautiful and welcoming!

Very nice and relaxing time. You can do it by yourself or as a tour. Staff is great, we were late showing up but called ahead to tell them we were going to be late the lady was very kind and said it was fine. Told us to take our time kayaking and make sure we did one of the loops, which was great because we saw a deer swimming across while we were there.

We wanted something to do with our older kids ages 16 and 15. We decided on the kayak rental from Great Escapes. We arrived a little early and Ryan, the tour guide, was already there and had everything unloaded. From the first second this guy was nothing but helpful. He was there for a guided tour (we just did the basic rentals) and even tho we didnt pay for the service, he welcomed us to tag along so that we would enjoy ourselves and not get lost. Ryan even hooked us up with a couple bottles of cold water. Im sure we would have enjoyed ourselves solo, but he definitely made the trip 100X better. Were planing on coming back for the Waites Island tour. My wife is a local restaurant owner and I am a Realtor. We can both certainly appreciate good customer service. Ryan, if you read these things, thanks for being a good guy. We enjoyed the good company, and conversation, and look forward to another trip soon. Cheers!

We had a Great time! The price is fair. We did tandem and self guide. Bubba explained everything to a tee! He also has the perfect personality for this outfit! Logan was also very helpful and kind.

I booked a trip, they took all my info including my charge card info, and then they cancelled, after business hours of the day before which left me with no way to rebook with another outfit. They said I was the only one who signed up for the trip and they dont do trips with only one person. They have a 24 hour refund / cancellation policy, apparently that applies only when it works in their favor they cancelled 12 hours before the trip, NO INTEGRITY. Obviously I do not recommend doing business with them.

The sunset tour with Bubba was great! He gave great instructions to novice paddlers. We also enjoyed meeting BLT 🐗.

I bought my little sister a 2 hour tour while on vacation for the week. It was a soothing ride and the guide (BLUE!) was very enthusiastic and had no problem keeping the crew engaged. We had a small tour of the farm which is the property they operate out of, that has chickens, horses, and a cat and dog (River) whom followed us everywhere. overall is was a really great experience.

We brought a large group of junior high kids to Myrtle Beach for a weekend retreat. Many of them had never kayaked before. A couple in our group kayak regularly.The guides and staff at Great Escapes were amazing! They personally insured that our kids had a safe, incredible, memorable experience.Everyone said that it was the highlight of their trip! From the beginners to the pros.We will definitely be back next year. We will encourage all of our friends and family to give Great Escapes a try.

Wow! What a fantastic experience we had while on vacation to Myrtle Beach! Our tour guide Michael was so friendly and showed us around the Cherry Grove marshes. We had the opportunity to see plenty of sting rays and jelly fish, so fun and perfect weather. Hats off to Great Escapes!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience kayaking the Waccamaw River. It was about a two hour trip. The weather was perfect and Brittany, our tour guide, was very sweet and knowledgeable. Would definitely do it again...Highly recommended!

Three friends and I went on a tour with Fernando! We had SUCH a great time, and Fernando was so kind and was the perfect tour guide. We definitely plan on going back if were ever back at the beach together! I would definitely recommend this for a fun day out.

We had a great time! We had paddleboards and kayaks and switched half way down the river. Seeing the farm at the end was great too before the ride back to base. First time on boards and we didnt fall in once. Highly recommend doing this. They have conoes too.

We did the 2 hour guided tour on the kayaks. The facility is beautiful and would make a great place to hang out for the day/afternoon. We really enjoyed our time there.

We did the Waccamaw River tour. Tour was about 2 hrs, and you pretty much could go at your own pace. Guide was knowledgeable about the area, and wildlife was abundant along the river.

Booked the 2 hour tour on the Waccamaw River with a group of six and it was one of the highlights of our vacation. The staff was more than accommodating and the small resort they owned was beautiful. We ended up staying an extra hour on the resort after the kayaking just to walk around and enjoy the scenery.

We had a fantastic time with a relaxing paddle and lovely sunset. Definitely worth it!

Did the 2 hour Waccamaw River tour yesterday and we had a blast with Ferdinand! Very knowledgable and pleasant person! He took us to a remote island and we looked for shells. Knowing I wanted a sand dollar, he didnt stop looking until he found me one.
