I like browsing around this store and I have been a customer for years. However, I have noticed a trend which has made me highly SUSPICIOUS of the ways items are now priced and ultimately being altered by staff, to give the illusion of being signed by a particular artist or other provenance - this is misleading and unlawful. Items that have usually been priced at a couple of dollars are now $9.99 or higher. If this company continues to follow a business model that is not in good faith it will surely grab the attention of the Better Business Bureau. Let see if they do the right thing and stop these unfair pricing/manipulation practices. Highly Concerned Customer
I just spoke on the phone with a representative from the North Charleston Goodwill pickup. Having recently moved from Alaska, and having never been exposed to prejudice or racism, I was surprised and saddened by what I was told to expect. I am a Korean African American born of two parents who were both in the military, and my husband has a similar mixed heritage. When I told the guy how everyone in South Carolina had been so nice to us, (more than the Alaskan natives), he warned me to expect a racist divide between my children and family, and other white members of the community. Apparently the clan culture, of races and families sticking together and not letting in outsiders is alive and well in Charleston. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!?! Im APPALLED!!! Didnt we leave racism in the 50s?!?! Im so sad to hear that my neighbors and members of my community who have been SO warm and welcoming to my multi-racial family are victims of racism and disgusting bigotry!!! How do those people live with themselves saying that one race, or type, or socioeconomic class is better than another? When will we start seeing peoples souls, and not their skin, or heritage, or sexual orientation? I really dont understand this need for judgement and classification. Tell me what you think.
Bob Smith, the CEO, is an overpaid cretin. $300 K per year for this conman? He is moving his idiot son up the chain of command so he can turn this fake charity into a family run operation. He lied to the Post and Courier several years ago when he claimed that his organization took no money from any governmental entity. That was a bald-faced lie. Google Did Palmetto Goodwill CEO Lie to the Charleston Post and Courier. This search term will take you to an article that proves my assertion. Turns out that Palmetto Goodwill got over $10 million from the federal government the same year that he lied to the P&C.He has also paid his disabled employees as little as $1.80 per hour by taking advantage of a glitch in the Wage and Hour Act. I guess thats not terrible since NBC did a report by Brian Williams that uncovered Goodwills which were paying disabled folks as little as 22 cents per hour. There are far more worthwhile organizations to give your donations to. Avoid this scam like the plague that it is.
This company is a complete failure... havent send w2s out yet when was told they was supposed to be out by tuesday today is Friday and no w2s yet... and please dont work for them they hire unprofessional managers or give people manager position when they are not ready for it ..HR doesnt answer the phone and i guess they lady who answers the phone when you call cooperate just guess and give you a answer because her answers never be correct... expect you to meet all these goals but keeps putting more pressure on you ... dont pay you nothing even if you full time they will still cut your hours ...
