I just checked me bill because I was going to pay my bill early. It was $50.00 more than it should be! When I first tried to sign up they said pick up my equipment and plug it in and it’ll work! Not true!!! I kept calling and trying and finally a week later they sent someone out and because I’d had such a hard time getting service they said I would not be charged extra!!! They LIED!!! And evidently there is NOTHING TO BE DONE ABOUT IT!!! I HATE THIS COMPANY AND WHERE I LIVE ITS THE ONLY ONE AVAILABLE!!! I wish I could take away the Star!!!

DO NOT USE COX FOR ANY REASON!!!Let me start off by saying I am not only reviewing cox as a whole company but also this location specifically. I have been with Cox for 4 years and every single year I tell myself I am going to switch internet providers. I have moved 3 times in the past 4 years and have used Cox in each location. The service has always been horrible. Unfortunately they are the cheapest option and for a lot of people like myself we cannot afford to pay extra so we are stuck with Cox. I decided to finally write this review because my internet has gone out once again and I must wait to use my computer. At least a few times a week my internet randomly drops and comes back on within 1-10 minutes. Why is this happening? I dont know and neither does anyone at Cox. Whenever you ask support for help good luck trying to get an answer. They simply pass you off to the next employee who could care less about your internet. Not only does my internet drop but the speeds are a complete joke. I pay for a 150mbps download speed package. Now its understandable if the speeds dont reach the max speed but you think they would be relatively close right? Nope. I just speed tested my internet and I get a whopping 3mbps. THREE! Now if thats not ripping somebody off I dont know what is. If you try and call Cox about it they say its not there fault and to check the router and wires. I am using the Router and wires that they gave me so either your equipment is broken or your service is. Now onto this specific store. When I finally moved into a house I had to switch my service over from my apartment and we dealt with the most incompetent employees. We had to deal with 3 separate people on 3 separate days before we got the internet working. It took over a week for them to tell us we needed a technician to simply put in a cable. How does something like that slip past THREE SEPARATE EMPLOYEES!? Such a simple fix yet it took over a week to get it fixed. Simply put do not under any circumstances use Cox. I will be moving to AT&T or OCE Fiber now that I can afford to pay more for better service!

Went to return some equipment. Wait time were pretty long since most customers seemed to be unsure of what they wanted and only 2 employees were helping customers. The store was filling up with customers much faster than they were able to serve them. They need a better system, like announcing the next person up outside so people could wait in the fresh air. While the store has signs that masks are required, they were helping customers who were wearing masks around their chin. I had to leave without returning my equipment. Now Im thinking of canceling ALL my services with Cox after being a loyal customer for over 20 years. They never mentioned to me on the phone that I could have mailed my equipment in. And now Im going to get charged $250 for returning my equipment late.

Go see Cathy Thompson at this local store! Amazing service and listened to what I needed and what my issues were!COX customer service / telesales department and online chat - kept giving me the run around. Those departments wouldn’t help with the rate increase and were fully willing to let me cancel service.I walked into this store and was ready to cancel and say the heck with COX and move over to AT&T.Cathy kept my same plan - at the same great rate and even upgraded my equipment - at no additional charge!This was all done on my lunch break and I was in and out of the store in 15 minutes! Thank You Cathy for being a customer advocate!!!

I got off work at 6, rushed down to Norman to make an adjustment to my plan. I wanted to cancel my TV plan and just keep the Internet. The company is raising tv prices and I don’t watch that much cable with all the streaming services out there. Bottom line, they had closed before their official time. 16 minutes early to be exact. Granted it’s the day before holidays, but it’s just all the more reason to not close early!!!!! I’m extremely disappointed!I took a photo just so that I could back my claim!

I had a pleasant experience when I called the store to set up my Internet and TV package. The lady picked up the phone told me I dont need to walk in and she could help me over the phone and she did. She was quick, professional, and knows her stuff. I am extremely happy about her service. I dont know her name though.

What can I say..... my wife and I moved in July and wanted to cancel our service while we were finishing our custom home. Cox has since billed us every month since July even though that house was sold and the service was canceled. We have been to this store 3x to cancel and the account STILL is active!!! This is very frustrating but humors at the the same time at the incompetence. I feel bad for the employees at this location because they do seem to care but cox system is so glitchy and just bad they can’t seem to cancel the account 4 months later. We have changed to att fiber and not only do we get 1 gig we are paying $40 less than 150 speed we were getting with cox. We had planned to renew cox but with the poor service and cost difference we will also be looking to cancel our large business account.

Paid my bill in August but kept on getting calls that my bill is overdue. Went to store 3 times, showed my receipts and asked them to fix it. Third time going there, they assured me it was fixed. Internet was cut off during the night, tonight. Called the cox number to see whats wrong and system told me last payment was in July. August payment still not in the system.

We decided it was time to look into our options for adding cable as we already have Wifi. After a lengthy phone call to an 800 number, the rep had gone over numerous options and given us the total after tax for not only adding Contour TV but also upgrading our current wifi. After crunching the numbers, we decided to go for it. We went to this store to pick up our equipment and that’s where the hiccups began.The rep on the phone had given us misinformation even though we had specifically asked for verification. (Does this total include tax? Will our bill go up at any point, like after the first year? Does this total include an extra cable box? Etc...) And once at the store, we discovered our bill would actually be much higher, and we’d have to pay even more for a second box because it was NOT included in the price quoted to us.Here is why I’m giving a 5 Star review. From the first person we spoke with, to the last, we had four different people helping. Preslee was our person to start, then Kelly, then Todd, and lastly Maria. They were very patient with our concerns and we did our part not to take our frustrations with the rep out on them. It took some time, but after looking into our account, they were able to make things right. We ended up with a monthly payment of a dollar more per month, BUT that covers everything we thought we’d be getting in the first place.Everyone was very helpful, patient, and understanding of our frustration and concerns. I’m very grateful for the dedication of this team to get us to where we needed to be and for the time they each spent with us trying to make things right. We left extremely satisfied. I thought we would have to say “forget it,” and go without cable for awhile longer but this team didn’t give up. Five star customer service and 5 stars for their pleasant attitudes and overall interactions with us. I highly recommend any of these agents when shopping for Cox bundles or products.Also noteworthy are the measures in place to ensure safety during this COVID-19 pandemic. Employees are wearing gloves, there is hand sanitizer at the desks, markers on the floor to encourage social distancing, someone at the door to open it for you when you walk in and when you leave, and plexiglass installed your protect both consumers and employees. Thank you Preslee, Kelly, Todd and Maria!

Installer showed up late then got stung by hornets and left, I get it. He said he would be back the next day at 10 for a two hour install. At 11:30 the next day (Friday) I call him but no answer so I call the cox store. They tell me they can reschedule for Monday but didn’t have any information on the failure to install at the original appointment and didn’t have a new appointment for me and don’t have an installer number so they can’t request that I not get the same no show guy from yesterday and today. They have no idea who they’re sending to your house and they have no control of their own production. Pay a little more and go with a better company.

I’m not one to write reviews especially not bad ones but my experience has been awful. Today new neighbors moved in and also used cox. The tech came to our home and told us the internet would be down for a little bit. Two hours later still no internet and the guys gone. I go and look at my cable box and it’s wide open and all of our cables were either cut or disconnected and laying in the mud. Now we don’t have any service at all but our new neighbors are all set up and connected to the internet. I will say the customer service women was very helpful but I couldn’t believe they would just disconnect our service for no real reason and just leave without telling us anything. That’s just bad business.

Over the past few years I have gotten use to not streaming video in the evenings between 5-9pm, even though I pay $80 bucks a month for the second highest tier of internet service, because Cox is unable to keep up the speed high enough during that period.This week it got to the point I could not stream video without first calling Cox to have my system reset. I called the tech folks and they blame my bad service on a faulty line.So, we set a service time of 5-7pm on Friday evening and 8pm comes and no phone call and no Tech has shown up. I contact Cox customer. Initially, I was told the guy knocked on my door and called my cell phone. However, when I stated that was impossible considering I was standing on my front porch with my cell phone. Then, there story changed he went to the wrong address but when I brought up the phone call, crickets, and we apologize. But, we will expedite your service call to get it fixed. Their idea of expedite is two days and that is what it took for the first date they did not show up for.When it comes time for their franchise renewal, I will be the guy at the City Council meeting refusing to shut up of why they should not renew their franchise agreement.

Waited over a week to get giga blast installed into my home. Worked for less then 24 hours and a little red alarm came on and my internet shut off. When I called them, all they could say was we will have to send a technician out and it will be another 3 days before they could get someone out to my house.

Didnt know the difference between a router and a modem.needed a new router she said they didnt sell them there. Tried several times to sell me a modem dont need one have one of theirs. I wish there was an option for less than 1 star.Terrible experience with Cox in general and this location, in Norman. I have to put quotes around this because coxA) Cant seem to get the store on google maps. Oh, the manager of the store is aware of it. Cox Communications, a big corporation, just cant do it.B) All the stores have generic numbers ringing to some Cox call center. So I was unable to call for location, hours, will they exchange my business account modem? Take a guess. Of course not. But after I had to take time off, locate it and waste time going there. (Only did because the cox technician told me all you have to do is exchange your modem at a cox store.C) Either he couldnt see from work order that its a business account or thought it would be funny to send me to the store where they cant even see business accounts, I dont know.

My wife, who is not a native English speaker, went to to Cox to see if they could reduce the cost of our internet service. They set up a home phone service (she didnt understand the deal at the time) that would reduce the price. That was nice. However, they charged for the phone service so our bill was higher for the next month. We went to Cox to see what was going on and they explained, but then agreed to credit $20 to our next bill to cover the $20 phone activation fee. Our next bill came around, I had around $50 dollars in my account, and, with the $20 credit, the bill should have been $40. They charged us $60 which caused the payment to bounce. I called Cox explaining their mistake, but they simply denied they agreed to credit $20 to our bill. They finally did credit the money, but they charged us $25 for their mistake. I tried to get the $25 back, but billing wasnt able to help me. This seemed really underhanded to me. They also put a note in the system that stated we would not receive anymore credit. That puts us in an awkward position now. I wonder if I should switch to AT&T, but Im not sure what good thatll do.

This is general on the service not just the store.Copied from my wife’s post on Yukon Happenings.So...if anyone uses Cox for cable I’d advise to watch your bill.. we were under contract and they kept going up for stupid reasons and to top it off when I called a week ago to cancel because we are moving then they didn’t even post it on there info that I was canceling or even had my info of my new address. I called them 2 times and when my husband went to drop off the equipment the service was still on. Never using them again!What a stupid service Cox communication is!!Plus they tried billing us for 1 more month.. 😡

I stayed with Cox 2 years, and as a loyal customer my reward was to double the cost of my Internet bill. The reception is pretty slow and sseems to fail more and more. I learned AT&T had more modern connections that work better. I think even my TV stream looks better. Customer service is hit and miss, sometimes good, but dont expect them to back down on doubling your bill each year

A bunch of crooks. They fail to tell people their hidden fees. They failed to honor military members by failing to waiving the early termination fee when I deployed and also failed multiple times to take it off after telling them about it. It took about 5 or 6 months while deployed and i finally reached a Vice President in Atlanta that took care of it but it already went to collections and hit my credit report. Cox is headquartered in my home state and Im ashamed to have them in Atlanta. They need to removed themselves or close completely.

I would give zero stars if i could. their policy states the billing cycle is 30 days of services but i was charged only after 20 days then got a late fee. then charged me partial services for changing my billing date to the correct date. never will become a customer of cox will always try to find ways to charge more than what they say

My initial install time window was between 10am and noon. They didnt show up until 6pm and didnt bother to call or even apologize when they showed up late. The sales representative at the solutions store was sleazy and signed me up for services I specifically said I didnt want. It took over an hour on the phone with customer service to correct my bill. This afternoon, 4/13/2017 I entered your store at approximately 430 pm. To begin one of the most unbelievable displays of rude, disrespectful and unprofessional behavior was initiated by a young women who began the interaction by yelling across the room at me, what can I help you with?, to which I replied I was there to get a mini box and I had a letter that my parents had that stated the box would be free. To this she very rudely snapped, well its not free, I showed her the letter and she conferenced with the manager, you??I hope you are reading this, She pointed to the fine print, essentially we missed the deal, so what??? Its not that huge, but then she asked about the account which is under my fathers name. She said he would have to make any changes and I told her that he was deceased, to which she very rudely asked if my mother was at the address, she cant get out, shes 88 and essentially homebound!! What is wrong with the service here???? You call yourself the solution store What a joke???!!! So the next part is why Im writing this, because she needs to be disciplined!! She heckled me all the way out of the store, telling me to have a Nice day at least 15 times all the way out the door. I hope that she is disciplined at least within the process of a performance review. I will never be in your store again. Ive got several mini boxes at my home and we will figure this out on our own!!! She is a very poor excuse for customer service or helping anyone with anything, Really a sad woman.

Cancelled the service (that was a story itself, how many times do you have to say Cancel before they quit talking from their playbook trying to get you to reconsider). He was finally convinced and his attitude changed from Mr Sunshine and said I had to return the equipment to the local store. the web site says the store is open to 7pm. I got there at 6:05 and it was shut. the sign on the door did list that it closed at 6pm. Maybe they will fix the erroneous info on the web site. Ill go back tomorrow with the equipment and continue the adventure.

I called to change my bundle plan to only cable. The rep. That took my call said i could keep my bundle plan and start a new service and get it for 100.00 cheaper. Got my confirmation number and all and he tranfered me to confirm my phone in the bundle and the lady that took the call said i was not eligible for this bundle. Ugh so not right. How do you go thru a 45 minute call to change this and then you cant have it. These people need to get the fscts straight on what you can have.

It seems Everytime I call COX about our internet being slow and cutting out it always gets worse and nothing ever gets fixed...All they try and do is sell me stuff and make me pay more, or pay 80 bucks for a tech to come out. Thats about the same as my bill. Why would I want to buy anything else when it doesnt work more than half the time, or send someone out to tell me I have to buy a new modem! I just bought it. My roku is right next to my modem and cuts out constantly, I cant have anything in my bedroom that needs internet because the it wont reach the other side of my 700 sq ft apartment. Today, Tuesday 08/02/2016, I went to this store to get some info about my tv and Internet pak. The guy at the counter was rude and tried to get rid of me after asking 3 questions. When I told him that the other lady ( Heather ) treats the customers politely, he,in an impolite tone replied : shell be here next week, you can come next week. Somebody should teach this man the customer service lessons. That was a terrible experience.

Terrible customer service. I was directed to this store by Coxs phone support to upgrade my modem. When I called to find out what options I had, they were rude and not helpful at all. In addition, the modem option they finally offered was 3 times the price of other retailers.

If they set you up for an installation and told you the technician would be there between 8 and 7 pm it is because you probably requested to do a self installation of the internet, cable or phone, therefore they had to send a technician to the tap to untrap the services and to turn them on for you. Since the technician does not need to go into the home there is no reason for you to wait for them at your house if you already have all of your equipment plugged in and turned on. Second of all if you go into a residential store you cannot expect to get BUSINESS services. If you are a business you need to go through the business side of Cox because that is something completely different, and there are locations that deal with business set up. And yes if you call the store you are going to go to a call center, which is in Oklahoma for that fact and the people that work in the call center are direct employees of Cox and they have to go through all the appropriate training to be able to service you. Now I do know that there is always going to be people out there that may not be very good at customer service and they might even be rude. However that should not count for the entire company in itself. It is not always just the companys fault. I have seen a lot of people that change their minds or are not home when the technician shows up to install the service. So with that being said there is faults in every company whether it is Cox or AT&T or Time Warner cable. There is never a 100 percent perfect system. And we are humans we all make mistakes. So instead of acting ignorant and making disgusting comments about a cable company just remember, It is a luxury not something you would die without. So if you dont like it and you dont want to pay for the highest service then dont get it. And one more thing...the internet is not the same thing as having internet with a cell phone company, you do not get charged for going over mbs or anything like that. 50MBS is the speed of the internet...not the amount of internet you can use. So if your bill kept going up it is probably because you were once on a discount and then it ended and now you are paying full price like everyone else does. And there are always discounts you just need to be willing to speak to someone about it and to see what they can do.

Terrible experience. The bill kept increasing despite not using the internet more, the service always goes in and out, customer service put me on hold and disconnected me after waiting half an hour just to talk to someone, and, to top it off, I have never had such an expensive bill! The internet is so slow! Worst internet/cable service I have ever had. I am switching to AT&T because their only solution was to pay MORE money. Honestly, we use our internet less than ever and our bill is STILL INCREASING every month. I, for one, am saying no to this lousy service. Do not get Cox. Help them change their ways or go out of business by not getting your internet/cable/phone through this service.

Setting up our home internet service was really easy, and everyone we talked to (on the phone and the Cox Comm. store in Norman, OK) was very friendly and helpful. I had read some bad reviews of Cox online and was a bit wary, but after getting screwed over by AT&T when we tried to set up U-Verse service, we switched to Cox and all went really well.Here are a couple of tips:* If you know even a little bit about home internet service, or feel comfortable using computer gear like at ALL, ask them to do a self-installation instead of having a tech come out to install the gear. This will save both time (you may get your service up and running faster) and money (as a self-installation is less expensive). All youll have to do is plug a (provided) coaxial cable in the wall and the cable modem, and then plug in the modem, and plug your computer into the modem using the (provided) ethernet cable. Super easy! And they have phone support if you run into any trouble, like I did. They pointed out that I should try multiple coax cable ports in the wall, and I finally found the one that was tied into the Cox internet/cable connection.* Along with selecting the self-install option, ask if you can pick up your cable modem/router at the local Cox store. I walked right in and picked it up in about 10 minutes. This will save you a day or two that it would normally take for your self-install kit to arrive via FedEx.* ALSO: I found out that Cox often leaves a connection active for a month or two after people move out to smooth transitions between customer accounts. So if youre moving into a place where the previous occupants had Cox cable and/or internet, you may be able to ask the technician at the local Cox store (as I did at the Norman, OK store) to activate the connection and get you up and running right away. If not, it may take a 2-3 days for the technician to come out and remove a filter from the line in your local junction box.Some quick backstory: We were moving to Norman, OK, from out of state, and called several days in advance to set up our TV and internet appointments so we wouldnt have to wait for a while after we moved in to get these running. We had an appointment set up with AT&T for a couple days after we arrived, but while we were in transit, AT&T emailed us to say the equipment we wanted wasnt available right now, and they had to switch us to another model of modem... so naturally they rescheduled our service appointment for FOUR DAYS LATER. Why? We never got a straight answer on that. We had specifically called ahead to minimize the time without home internet access, and AT&T made a mistake that then invalidated our planning, and then refused to change it. We threatened to take our business elsewhere, but that didnt make a difference, so we canceled that account and went right to Cox Comm. for home internet. So glad we did -- we wound up having our internet up and running a few hours after moved into our new place.
