The moment I walked in the door I was greeted professionally and happily. During my haircut Rick was more than willing to share his experience and skills of the trade with another young man. He took his time and was very polite. It’s uplifting to know that a barber is comfortable enough with his work to teach others. The haircut itself came out far better than I had hoped for and I will be returning again and again. Thank you for the pleasant experience.

Conversation is entertaining. Owner is very personable, open to all conversation, educates his fellow barbers and makes sure you’re comfortable during the entire experience. His work is impeccable. Be prepared to stay for a minute, this is not a quick n go barber shop because they actually take the time to make sure your hair looks good, he doesn’t want people walking out of his shop looking ugly. Owner creates opportunities for children that are out on the streets and provides a role model figure for them. My husband has been getting cut by the owner for 3 + years and we won’t be stopping anytime soon. Choose this barbershop if you want to look good after getting cut.

I am not from the area but from the point of my entering the establishment, I did not feel uncomfortable or out of place. There was laughing, joking and the noticeable concern to maintain a professional and jovial atmosphere. My experience was extremely refreshing.As far as the cut, Legit, I can not recall receiving a better one. I would absolutely return and recommend Grand Champions Barbershop to anyone. The attention to detail was evident and there was no rush to get me out of the chair for the next dollar. Again, very refreshing for a customer.All in all, 5 star!!

Very authentic hair cuts I was chopped up by Mo a 21 year old clipper demon! The Man cuts hair expeditiously and precisely it should be illegal how good his cuts are !They’re navy friendly and family oriented.If you ain’t getting cuts at Grand champions then you have yet to know the feeling of being a champion. 🏆

When I first came and met rick and got a cut, from then he became my barber. Everyone was cool and respectable, i actually enjoy the company. Only certain ppl can cut mines and hes one of them. Nobody else is touching my hair. Thanks to Rick.

When I arrived I was asked if I had an appointment. I stated no. I just wanted my son to get his haircut. I only went because it is close to my house and they had a 5 star rating. I was there from about 330p.m.-545p.m.. At one point I was going to get up and walk out because all the barbers walked out for a meeting. There were clients in the chair and I had my family in the car waiting. I was not going to leave my only son there. I am a single mom trying to make sure my son and daughters look good when I look good. I dont care for the atmosphere due to the fact that I said that they were 5 star. Then to tell me that you the barber have been drinking or dont cut little boys hair then to apologize for bullying my son. After I went to check on my family that was in the car I was going to pay him and he offered the cut for free. It looked good. My son has a design in his head. In the design there was a drop of blood. I decided that I will not take my son back and just cut it myself. I dont care for the offer of the drink. If you want a 5 star from your clients or a possible client they should get 5 star treatment. Not a conversation of judgment because I am from up north. I was not being rude. I had been there for 2 hours. Regardless if you have a place where men can come and be them. You still have women coming there. Then to have a meeting while you have clients in the chair waiting is crazy. I had 2 people ahead of me. The client in the chair and a person getting an edge up. The client in the chair was almost done when she was still sitting there. Never again. Take my service elsewhere. Sad. Poor customer service for me. I worked customer service i want service the same way I would provide service 5 star or more. This was not it. Dont get me wrong I knew that I would be there a while. That was not even what I was expecting. Like I didnt have things to do. The barber who finally cut my sons hair and another male apologized. Too late that was not how you get 5 stars from me. Turn off.

The epitome of an over-priced, unprofessional, execrable business.My misfortune began as I walked into the store and noticed both “Barbers” were not wearing Masks. The establishment was dated, dirty, & disheveled.Mo- a 21 year old who is new to the profession by 1 year, greeted me by sitting me down in the barber chair, then walking away to flirt with another customer for about 5 minutes. He then came back to me and cut some of my hair, then he proceeded to go and flirt again with another customer.Rick- an elderly man with antiquated viewpoints, insisted on bringing up everything from Gender Roles to Politics to Fights. He constantly belittled and tried to humiliate Mo during my haircut.I learned Rick does not support the idea of a male nurse - critiquing them with immense profanity. He doesn’t support the Vice President, repeating baseless lies and gossip. He doesn’t think women should be in leadership roles. He uses the term “gay” to demean people. And he actively looks for fights.I was at the establishment for just over an hour, and would have been longer if not for gentle nudging of an appointment I had at 1730.At one point Rick stopped cutting his clients hair, grabbed a bag of popcorn, and began eating it in front of me as he lamented on his keyhole being glued that morning.At another point, Mo stopped cutting my hair to look up reviews about himself.Both “men” wore ill fitting clothing that lacked any sense of decency . This included Mo who wore a tank top with his armpits exposed the entire time.I was charged $30.00 for a $12.00 haircut. I sincerely doubt Rick attended any Cosmetology School and I know Mo did not. I paid in cash and was so revolted with the present company, I gave him two twenty’s so I could just leave and not have to deal with listening to Ricks rants as well as spend another second in that ghastly abhorrent place. I literally PAID to leave.Avoid at all costs unless you want to have your hair cut by a homophobic and a male chauvinist.Over-Priced, Rude, and Unprofessional.

Im in town for business and needed to get a haircut while I was here. I checked out a number of reviews in the area. However, Grand Champions stuck out (in a good way) and I decided to give them a try....and im INCREDIBLY happy I did.Rick is the owner and also the one who cut my hair. He did an EXCELLENT job and was very attentive. He was meticulous and took his time. He is great to chat with as well, and it is very obvious that he is passionate about his craft and talented as well.If you come here, you will not be disappointed.They were also cooperating with social distancing/mask guidelines as well.When I am back in town, I will absolutely come back here!

Business owner was my barber. The conversation was a little too personal. I get it, sometimes you just need someone to vent to. But it went on for a while and then he charged me $30 for a not-so-great job on a fairly simple mans haircut. Very unhappy with my experience overall. His prices are not posted I highly recommend you ask for a price before you get your haircut. I will not go back there.
