Its a $10 haircut, so temper any expectations you may have accordingly when you consider what you are paying. George seems like a good guy, chatty, watches old tv shows with customers. Talks about whatever. As far as the cut, hes back to basics. Shop could use a good cleaning.

Eds is a callback to a bygone time. One chair, one TV, one barber. Ed is deceased, his son, Greg now runs the joint. Hell give you a no nonsense cut in a timely manner the old fashion way -- hot cream and razor finish. Dont go for frills or thrills, but a good experience with a good man. For $7 a cut, you cant beat it, just tip him the difference for a normal $14 cut.P.S. Hes an ace with military cuts.

Ive been going to get my haircut here for a over a year now and have had no complaints. He does all the same as any normal barbershop and does it in a timely manner for half the price. Ed is old school and will hold a conversation with anyone. Would definitely recommend this barbershop.

I have gone to this shop twice or tried to. First time was about a year ago. I got there about 30-45 minutes before the listed closing time. Closed sign was in the window, door was locked and the barber was sitting in his chair reading a newspaper. He looked at me when I tried the door then went back to reading his paper. That was it.Since the place I have been going to for cuts, Smittys, is closed today I tried to give this guy another chance. Hours listed as 9-5, it is now 9:30 and they are closed. There are 3 other people here waiting for him to open, besides myself. It will just be 3 after I finish this review.Apparently he opens and closes when he feels like it. I guess thats why he doesnt have his business hours listed on the door or windows of the shop.If your hours have changed fine, but change them online so people arent wasting their time coming to a shop that isnt open.

Been going to Eds for years. Sole barber now that his dad died several years ago. Just $5 for a haircut (but you really should give him a tip). Generally easy to find parking. Old westerns play constantly.

Greg made my day, today. He runs a simple, one chair shop with a rich family history behind it. Great cut for an unbeatable price!

Br
Review №19

A real back to basics barber shop. Single chair, television playing westerns, and the faint scent of tobacco complement the atmosphere. If youre looking for some fancy haircut, theres a good hairdresser down the road, but if you just need a tight fade, contoured by an old style straight razor, then its worth stopping by.Might take a little while to get your turn, but the conversation of the room is worth it.

Old school cuts for $5. Great price. Dont complain that it was not a specialty cut. Greg takes care of his people. Straight edge neck shave. If you expect more, go pay $20.

Went here on a whim and I couldnt be happier. The guy working here is a little nuts, but he glides over your face with ease, actually uses a straight razor, and knows how to fade. I was very upset with my last beard trim from Candys barbershop, but this guy fixed everything wrong on my face in minutes. No literally, minutes. The guy moves faster than anyone Ive ever seen. Almost to a scary degree. That said, being there you never feel any pressure. He sits you away from the mirrors and in front of a huge TV that plays sports and Western films. Conversations were at a minimum, but pleasant. His other customers looked like they got out of a retirement home, but looked fresher than Hugh Hefner. You also cant beat the price here; its dirt cheap. If you are an introvert who hates getting a haircut, a military guy who needs a quick buzzcut, or just some dude with an untameable beard, go here. You wont be disappointed.

Best barbershop in town! Greg does a great job and the haircuts are only $5. Super close to ODU, the Naval Base, Sentara Norfolk General and on Colley. There is a huge TV that you can watch while you wait for your turn. If there are a lot of people in front of you, its definitely worth the stay. He cuts hair really fast and Ive never waited more than about 15-20 min. Usually, I get a haircut within 5-10 min. He uses a straight razor to clean up the back of your neck. Cant beat it!

Every active duty member should get their cutt here. He does a great fade and left room on top to style. Takes his time, ends with a straight razor around the neck. He has over 40 years of experience and was only $5. Does better than most places Ive been. I will be returning.
