Got a great cut there, Milad was great and super nice, and was able to give me exactly what I wanted even though it was hard to describe. At $25 a regular cut I’m definitely coming back. 5 stars

Always prompt, courteous, sociable and most critically: great barbers. I see one or two reviews of unfortunate haircut experiences here. I have yet to get anything less than a great cut here. I hope those that have had a bad cut will give it another chance. Tough to beat IMHO!

The barber was very sociable, but gave me the worst haircut. It was uneven with clumps of hair sticking out everywhere. This is the first time and the last time I will use this barber.

Hands down the best barber shop in Massachusetts! I’ve been taking both of my sons there for a few years, driving 40 minutes each way. Aside from giving the best haircuts, the owner and his staff is fantastic with kids! So kind, patient and treat you like family. The salon is clean, the wait is never more than 15 minutes and plenty of coffee shops next door and across the street where you can grab a coffee or a snack while you wait.

I went there for the first time . its clear there not same barbers said to be there for over 20 years. it seemed ok and i mentioned few things that i wanted done ok just used sheers mostly the left side my head from front to back over my ear(left ear) looks bald looks like i was scalped if so both sides should match left right sides i didnt notice it more untill i got home later and looked closer . its cut down to the scalp i could not see it all while getting this louzy hair cut-- i wont be back there located in newtonville on walnut st. thank god the right side didnt get clipped bald it looks like a freak show that hair cut i got--

Sal’s is the best barber shoppe west of Boston. Anas always takes great care of me and provides excellent haircuts and beard trims. He is my automatic go-to when there’s a special event, job interview, or wedding. Sal’s is the place to go!

Walked in around 4:30PM and 5 other people walked in after me. He took roughly 40 minutes on the guy before me, and must have wanted to rush through everyone so he wouldn’t have to stay late, because he didn’t listen to anything I said and only spent roughly 15 minutes on me. Asked him to use the scissors on the top, he didn’t. Asked him to fade near the top, he didn’t. Then when I asked him to go higher, he went far too high. Would not recommend this place.

The best barbershop in Boston.

Popped in and he was just finishing with another client. It had really been awhile since my last cut but he effortlessly brought things into submission in short order. The straight shave on the neck was a nice touch and really helped give a clean look to the back of my head. Fast, no nonsense, looks great, and under $20! 5 stars for sure!

Came here based on these reviews. Will say I was not disappointed! Great price and an even better cut. Faded up from a 2 on the sides and a little longer on top blended perfectly! It was a longer drive from home than I anticipated but I will be back!

Been coming to this barbershop for a couple of years now and Annas always gives me really good fades. Definitely wouldn’t change them for any other barbershop. The price is always been low for the quality of service.

Ever since I moved to Newton, this is the only barbershop I go. Its cheap, fast and friendly. They are all very good and will give a clean cut. They will even stylized to what you have asked them. Got my haircut here before the wedding too.

Great haircut! Stopped in early on a Tuesday and sat right down. Great cut, neck shave and even an eyebrow trim! My son also came a few weeks back and got a great haircut as well. And very, very good value compared to other overpriced mens barbers in the area.

When I walked into Sals for the first time my expectations were instantly raised when I saw my future barber, who sported a stylish combination of a well trimmed beard coupled with perfectly quaffed hair. When he began his work I could tell this man was a professional. For less than I would pay at other barbers in Newton, he not only gave me the best haircut I have ever received, but he also trimmed by beard and neck with a straight razor. I’ve come here 5 times and only twice have they gotten my request right I ask for short on the sides and longer but on top and there’s one guy who takes that as cut everything off on top and they never ask as they’re cutting they just cut it off and try to get to the next person the back of my hair is off and I gotta say for the price it’s at 19 with a 5 dollar dip which I gave anyway despite the bad service the haircuts are average and there are way better deals with places that put more time as effort into good haircuts this is just my opinion though waste your money if you want.

They rushed the cut and never asked how you wanted it done. Then they scooted my 5 year old off the chair and got the next guy in. It didnt even look like he got a haircut. I asked to cut it shorter and he was shocked. I asked for a #1 shortness and he disagreed saying that is too short... Thats when I agreed to anything shorter than what it was and to never go back.

Recently I came to Sals barber shop and received a very rough and unsatisfying haircut which was not what I hoped for. Some of the staff here are actually super nice and I have been coming to this place for years (since it arrived in newton). However, this time I received a rude and unfamiliar barber who literally lost patience with me the second I walked through the door. He consistently reacted to me in a rude manner when I told him my preferences (EXCUSE ME I AM PAYING MONEY FOR THIS). He also kept giving me rude signals throughout my time here. In the end, I received a borderline disgraceful haircut and I will not be returning back even for freefand for sure considering the price I paid . Do not come here! Dont say I didnt warn you!

They were fighting while i was there and made me wait until their argument was over. Always rude when i go in. Keep in mind ive been there a good amount of times (5+) They cut well if you tell them what to do and they usually have an attitude about it. Ridiculous. Go ahead and go there, but if they give you attitude put them in their place. Nobody should have to deal with that kind of pessimistic service.

Great barber shop in Newtonville. The owner Milad is usually one of the only guys working there on Saturday when I get my haircut. Hes friendly, takes his time, and gives a great haircut. Along with the great haircut, Sals is a great value with a cut for less than $20. I cant recommend Milad and the other guys that work at Sals enough!
