Machine didnt work.... Sprayer was extremely short. Had issues extremely inconvemient.

The triple foam polish didn’t work them I got the $20 laser wash and that was below my acceptable looking also as well aint go there again

This place is terrible. The workers are lazy and just look lost. The car wash doesn’t even clean properly, they don’t wash the towel, nor do the vacuums work properly.

Criminal. Spent $12 on a subpar wash (only one if 2 lanes was functional). Did not recieve my free vacuum token. Tried to vacuum my car (about 40% were functional) Placed my 10$ bill that I should not have spent since it should have been free into the change machine. I recieved 10 worthless tokens, not quarters. I called the help number which was no help. I ended up giving my 9 unneeded tokens to another customer( pay it forward). So I ended up with a kinda clean, vacuumed car for $24. DO NOT USE THIS CARWASH.

On my car I have side splitters. I can only go through brushless car washes. I checked their website and they said brushless. I got their membership and as I pull up, its all brushes. I couldnt turn around so I went through. As expected, the brushes broke one of my splitters. Their membership also states that theres a 5 minute drying time. It was no more then 1, maybe 2 minutes.

After the latest snowmageddon, I was looking for a touchless car wash to clean all the salt off my car and rinse off the undercarriage. There were several options, at different price points. I figured I should probably go big or go home. So $19 wash my payment. I expected a pretty decent job. I don’t expect perfection or even close. I know that’s not possible without a little elbow grease. Anyway, $19 later, my car actually looks worse. Yes, it looks worse than when it started. The water ran down the side of my car. So, now I have lots of vertical first stripes from water running down my car and waxed mud on my trunk lid.There is one small plus side. It is a nice-looking clean facility in an otherwise kinda sketchy area.

Good price for a car wash though I was a bit disappointed in the final wash. It missed some rather large areas. Having the no touch experience was worth it.

Tried the 20 dollar wash. It applied presoak, then kicked me out. I couldnt go back through. I called the phone number, and was told to talk to the on-site attendant. Admittedly, they didnt know where the attendant was located. I drove around, and found no office. She said if I couldnt get with them, I have to call tomorrow, and Ill get codes for free washes. I spent another 16-20 dollars at the manual wash for a subpar wash. I hope a refund is an option, but Im not optimistic.

We have gone here several times. Its in a convenient location. We have had 2 problems at this location:1. We paid and it did not air dry our car2. We did not receive a token to vacuum (free with wash)Reached out to the company and they NEVER called back. I think this is very unprofessional. We dont use this location anymore.

Went here yesterday to knock the dust off my car in the touch-less wash and it was horrible. Spent 18 dollars and had to wash my whole car after by hand. It did absolutely nothing. The soap was spotty and didn’t even cover the car. It should be illegal to rip people off like that. I will never go here again. This was my 2nd time trying.

Took my dirty vehicle to wash here. Took 12 dollars ito wash my car.. car came out dirty as it went in. The pre soak was non existent. Wasted money on poor quality. Then the vacuum that was supposed to be free with wash was not and the vacuum didnt even start when you swiped card to pay. Wont use this business again

When to the car wash man had a semi through a second time because it only washed half the car. Then could not get the vacuum cleaner to work.

Good use of soap and got my bike clean..Only issue is the time alittle.. 1min =A dollar or tokens.. and perpahs a real cash dispenser.. I got $10 in tokens instead of quarters..lol but Ill use them there agian ..😁

Its an ok Carwash but the price keeps going up. Pretty expensive if you do the wand wash. The automatic carwash seems to wash less and less with price going up and up.

I chose to leave 2 stars in hope that owners will see this and be proactive.The instructions on the card reader for do-it-yourself say to swipe and push the stop button when done and this is how you will be charged. This is wrong. It charges you $5 automatically and stops after 5 minutes. I had to swipe again to finish. Another $5 but something didnt add up. Charges on my card were higher.Next, there is this useless pink dye in the soap that stains clothes and skin. If you do not wash every last drop off it will leave streaks of pink wherever it decides to finally run off. My car is white and this is very noticeable. I went to your car wash to wash my car and make it look better but it only looks worse AND I spent way more than anyone should at do-it-yourself places.Management, you reap what you sow. Please do not ignore. #causeofaction

I utilized this service almost weekly at the Colony location. I lost money due to the car wash not working this particular day. I called and left a message while I was there, hoping to hear back from someone within moments. I called two days later and left another message expressing my concern and disappointment for not being acknowledged. It was only $8 but it was the principle of the matter. I received a call from Matt who was more than professional and honest. He recovered the situation to my satisfaction! He was very polite and understanding. I will definitely continue using this car wash for my needs. Thanks, Matt!

I go to the Cool Waves on Mercury Blvd. I never had an issue with them when they had the scanner code sticker that they placed under the rear view mirror but now that they have changed it to the app. it has been a nightmare! The app NEVER works for me so I have to honk or wave to get the attendants attention to get me through to get my car washed. I have requested a call from their manager so we could find a resolution and no one has called me back after leaving my number 4 or 5 times for him. I called his number and left a message on his voicemail requesting a call back and I have not been called yet!!! They dont have to hassle me to pull the membership money out of my account every month when its due and I shouldnt have to honk and wave my arms to get through the gate to wash my car. Its simple I pay money....you provide service. Today I contacted Wavy TV 10 on Your Side hoping that they can help me out since the manager at the Cool Waves on Mercury Blvd. doesnt feel that he should provide any customer service at all! HORRIBLE!

Yesterday I tried to use the soft touch car wash. It wouldnt take my card or cash. Error message on the screen. Went to one of the manual bays. $4 cash for 4 minutes. I didnt have enough 1 dollar bills so I used my debit card. When I got home found out I had been billed $15 for 5 minutes. $10 premium for using a card rather than cash! Some of the selections werent working, tire cleaner and presoak were unavailable. Ill go to Auto Bell next time. I have been here a number of times. Never again. How long will you stay in business ripping off your customers? Looking at reviews on Yelp! uniformly until 2015, terrible since then. Theres a reason why.

Wash was so so, no rinse cycle and no free vacuum with wash as advertised.

Purchased the $12 car wash, pulled in and followed the directions of the signs, stopped and the wash began, as the machine got to the front of my car it was ramming into my car. I reversed some, and the machine told me to pull forward, out of the wash. So I went back around to rinse the soap off, so I payed for the cheaper one, ($8) and followed the directions again, it washed my car. But when I called the number provided online and left a voicemail, no one has called me back. Would appreciate my refund, but for now, I dont plan to suggest this wash to anyone or will I return for any reason.

No soap came out during my wash

Went here after the minor snow we had to wash all the salt and grime off my car and picked there typhoon wash with the wheel cleaner. While waiting for turn to pull in I timed the average time for it took for a car wash, It was about 7-8 minutes which I was impressed with. Came my turn to pull in I go to pay and the card reader was barely working had to swipe my card which I know works perfectly fine about a dozen times with no luck finally the attended came over and got it to barely work after he had to swipe it another dozen times. Sit in the bay for the wash and pull out after and immediately turn into there free vacuum area just to inspect the job the car wash did. There was still dirt all over my car the car wash had just taken the big particles off. I Dont suggest this car wash to anyone unless you want a half washed car after and non working free vacuums.

As someone who’s worked at this car wash before(2016-2017), I can say that most of the bad reviews complaining about the wash tunnel stopping is a matter of the DRIVER MAKING ERRORS, they pull in not paying attention to the commands leave the car in neutral and it will roll out of place the system tells you to put your car in park. ANOTHER MATTER is some people expecting a automated system to wash their car properly when it hasn’t been cleaned in months not even the best automated systems will remove all of the oil dirt road grime etc you allowed to accumulate on your car. You need to thoroughly clean your car then use the wash tunnels about every two weeks to maintain cleanliness...NOW MY ISSUE IS WITH THE SELF SERVE BAYS (where you wash your car with the car wash’s available equipment)I’ve been to use the self serve bays two separate times now just this passed Sunday and over 4 months ago BOTH TIMES I HAD ISSUES WITH THE SELF SERVE BAYS they only produced high pressure soap, water, and the foam brush barely worked. The presoak tire cleaner rainx etc DID NOT WORK AT ALL which tells me either the bays aren’t being maintained OR the owner/employees aren’t keeping the self serve bays stocked properly. I called left messages both times! No reply there should be a person on duty at each location from roughly 8am-5pm those were my hours. Now it’s as if there’s nobody there ever! Also when you call their phone number 269-0200 it goes to one location only (colony) so if you’re at any other location and try to call for help the employee at colony has to take your call then call the employee that’s at your current location or call you back themself and have you come to a different location or you’ll have to wait for that employee to travel to your location, it’s all very ineffective and inefficient...perhaps if the owner paid the employees a recpectable wage and make better decisions on who to hire things wouldn’t be so bad...DO NOT GO HERE ITS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE

BEWARE!! Read the reviews before using this car wash. I understand the current pandemic and that businesses are closed but if your business is open you should respond to customers. After reading reviews after my bad experience I guess that’s how they handle things anyway. I went on April 9th at 1942. Paid $15 dollars, waited 6-7 minutes before it told me to drive in and once I drove in nothing happened. Not one drop of water. I have called the phone number listed 5 times, left 3 voicemails and even sent 1 email. I have heard nothing. Look at the other reviews, if they rip you off they don’t respond to their complaints.

Rip off pay for wash vacuum and tire services just got wash only

I went to this car wash a few days ago to vaccum my car out. I didnt have enough cash/coins on hand so I used my debit card to pay for the service. Later that night I was looking over my purchases for the day & noticed I had been charged $15.00 for the vacuum instead of the $2.00 that was displayed on the machine as the cost. Ive called several times & left messages & still my calls have not been returned. I just want my $13.00 refunded back to me. I gave three stars because the vacuum worked REALLY well but it wasnt worth $15.00. PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY BACK. THANK YOU

Would go to this one over the Poquoson one. I liked the soft touch car wash without the tunnel. Did the cheapest one since I had a bad experience at another Cool Wave, wasn’t over charged on my card and it seemed to do a good job.

Hadnt washed my car in quite some time and decided it needed some love, so stopped by Cool Wave and used the automatic wash which did a fabulous job!! Highly recommend bringing your car here!

Good quality wash, got off all the bugs fromroad trips and the icky layer of pollen. Vacuums are $2 but give ample time to clean a sedan thoroughly, and you can switch to fragrance if you have extra time remaining. If you go for the automatic wash, just be aware the left side is touchless, the right side has brushes. Once you’ve pulled up if someone comes behind you, you won’t be able to switch. The cheapest wash is only $5 (but does not include drying).

This car was is always clean and the area is well lit. The automatic drive thru wash does not clean your car very well. And the price of the least expensive wash, The Storm has increased to $8.00. You only get the coin to vacuum for free if you buy a more expensive wash.

Paid $18 for the Super Typhoon Wash, which left huge portions of the back of my car dirty. You could see where the washers hit it and smeared it. Super disappointing.

Nice place clean love how you can use credit card but recently I go in there and some of the selections don’t work today I went in there The tire cleaning selection didn’t work plus I put five dollars into the coin change which they switched to tokens and I got back 2 One dollar tokens and a quarter I like to keep coming Hope you can keep up on some of these issues

I tried this place again and was disappointed. My car isnt even marginally clean, and i didnt receive the free token for vacuum. I called immediately and left messages but 3 days later still no callback. Its wrong to take peoples money and not provide the service as promised. I either want a refund or an opportunity to run my car thru the wash until its actually clean. $12 down the drain.

Took a piece of my car right off. (I own a new car this should not have happened) I called the number provided there. Told them what happened. They said they would return my call never heard from them.

Went to use the vacuums, first one I parked by didnt work, luckily my quarters came back. No sign up tho I think there were people working there. Had to re-park. Next vacuum worked but nozzle kept coming off and had to screw back on.

This place used to be nice but over the years its gone downhill. The drive through car wash, both brushless and with, do not do the job of cleaning or drying. There were so many dirty spots and soap spots still on my car after use. For the price it was not worth it.

I paid $18 and went through the touch free car wash and when it was done it didnt look any different. Just looked like water was sprayed on it. Then went to use the free vacuum and it was only four minutes, thats not enough to time to vacuum anything. So then I paid another $10 to do it yourself .

This is the second time i take my car there and expected my car to be clean when I took it through the car wa . Nope again paid 8$ and basically got my car wet and dried when I got home I was very disappointed. The last time I figured maybe something was wrong with it. The automatic car wash didn’t do anything for my car. Came out still looking dirty. Basically they just spray water and it’s not even very strong. Go somewhere else with rollers etc.

Don’t take your car here, I’m still in the parking lot because I took my wife’s car through the wash and it damaged the paint. I let the 4 men who work here know, but they were preoccupied playing frisbee and shaking their head they had to deal with me. When they did look they said it was preexisting which I figured is what they’d say. Pay for an $8 car wash and end up paying $500 for a new paint job.

I use to go here all the time and would usually use cash. But earlier this morning I did not have cash so I used my card to wash my car which was advertised as $5. My account shows that I was charged $15. Please, I advise that you do not got here. You will be overcharged. Im active in the car scene as well and most definitely let everyone else know to stay as far away from here as possible. There are many other great car washes in Newport News that do not overcharge your account. CoolWave will steal your money point blank.

After going through the touchless car wash on Warwick I noticed that I still have a lot of bugs on the front of my car, which I paid an additional $3 for the bug removal package. I got out of my car and went to see that ended with my boxing gloves figuratively. Most businesses like this want your money but dont want to do right by you when youre not happy with the service. I was expecting them to tell me that it would not remove all of the bugs or somthing like that. I spoke to a gentleman by the name of Chris. He merely examining my car and explain what the problem may have been. Then he said if you have the time I will send you down the street to our other facility where they have the self serve and the brush automatic car wash. I will make a call and have Devin take care of you. Arrived at the other side and things went much like he said it would. Devin escorted me to the self-serve car wash booth where he personally wash and remove the bugs from my car and then sent me through the automatic brush car wash. All at no extra charge. That is what I called service above and beyond. They still buy your car wash and when it failed to do the job they stepped in and made a right. The facility is clean and well-kept. Ladies and gentlemen if youre looking for a place to get your car wash and have them stand by their work you cannot go wrong with cool tide car wash.

Clean car wash and all the hoses work. Nobody rwally plays loud music there. The hood is right behind it though so no need to linger when it gets dark but the have plenty of bright lights.

I paid $19 to have my car washed in the touchless bay (because the the other one wasnt running) after soaping up my car, the car wash shut off and never rinsed any of the soap off. Not only am I annoyed, but I just wasted $19. So, I went to the self-serve bays to wash all the soap off that the other one that I paid for didnt get, and the machine ate my $3. Another car wash paid for at Cool Wave that just stole money and didnt give me a clean car. I have called numerous times and no one has answered. Judging by the other reviews Im sensing a pattern here....Cool Wave just wants your money without providing the advertised services....**EDIT - I finally heard back from the manager, offered me a free wash and a gift card for the troubles. I appreciate the attempts to fix the issues and would recommend them because even if there is a problem, they will work to rectify it.

Paid $17 and my car was just as dirty if not worse. I had some sort of film left all over my car. I will never go back and make sure to tell everyone I know not to go.

When I pulled up to the machine to purchase a wash it gave me the option of rain x package. I picked that one. It was the most expensive and not worth it. There was no rain x applied to my car. If you are just looking for a cheap wash then pick the cheapest and move on. I do not highly recommend the more expensive ones as they dont do any more then the cheaper ones.

SHADY OWNER AND MANAGER!!!!!! BEWARE THEY OWN ALL 3 COOL WAVE CAR WASHES 2 in NEWPORT NEWS AND THE ONE I HAD THE PROBLEM WITH. I went threw the touch less wash side and the arm got stuck on my truck and made 2 down to the metal scratches from the metal sprayer on the bed of my truck the bed of my truck is completely original and the way it came from the factory. . Contacted the manager all they did was play games and deny that it caused any damage. I might add that they consider the aftermarket sign as there catch all to release from ALL responcablity even though its nothing aftermarket about it. Its a shame. THIS WAS THE POQUSON COOL WAVE CAR WASH. Will not be using any of the cool wave car washes from this point on and will be letting everyone I know about what happened and how shady they were and the lack of being a decent company with a little integrity and doing the right thing instead of basically saying to bad about your truck.

Only been here a few times but have had issues more than once. The token machine has been broken a couple of times, one of the vacuums had almost no suction, the brush is usually a waste of money. Doesnt seem well managed. There are plenty of places Id rather spend money than here.

Do not use your credit or debit card here! They will take an amount off your card for example $15 and hold it for days, so i made a 5 dollar purchase to rinse my car in the selve serve section it technically cost $20, im supposed to be getting $15 back we will see...... im pretty upset there are no signs for this! I overdrafted my card because i thought i had 30 left on it for gas and i was missing almost half of that, ended up getting charged a overdraft fee and everything!😠😠😠😠

Auto wash takes your money, but doesn’t work, well they actually does work until your vehicle is half soaped then stops thereby requiring you pay more for manual rinse in adjacent manual wash bays to just wash off soap. No one answers phone if needing refund assistance. Buyer beware!

Decent well kept car wash. Takes cash and even plastic at the DIY bays too so you dont have to worry about grabbing cash for change. Change machine was out of order last time I was there anyway. Touchless wash sounds brutal from inside the vehicle, but does a nice job. Carpet shampooer had poor suction...dont bother with it. - 4 out of 5 stars for that.
