A great little boating experience. Boat goes 4 miles per hour. No experience necessary. Lots of boat traffic on the harbor so need to be watchful. Great family excursion. Two hours gets you the opportunity to see the entire harbor including driving around Balboa Island twice.

Let me start off by saying...we had a Great time, HOWEVER, customer service and 12 person Duffy was WELL BELOW AVERAGE.Reservation process...- trying to decide between..“Newport Harbor Boat Rentals”- $175.10- 2 Hours- 5:30-7:30pmor“Newport Fun Tours.”- $130- 2 Hours- 5-7pmKeep in mind both locations are in the same Harbor. They are about 2-5 miles apart in the water. We also compared the reviews between the two locations. The more expensive one had less reviews, but a higher score. The latter had over 1k in reviews and was relatively decent.Night of Reservation...A little difficult to find. There weren’t any signs to say “this way to...” I called and he said “we are around back of the building.” We get there..check in..he walks us over to the Duffy.1st impression of the Duffy...- seats were coming apart (held together by tape)- old school cd deck with a cord hanging out by steering wheel- we spent an extra $45 to rent a Duffy at this spotDEFINITELY NOT WORTH AN EXTRA $45!1st impression of Guy managing at the time...- same as I expected- really laid back, beach vibe, no worries, no cares- set us in the Duffy...asked if we have ever operated one before, to which I said “No.”He then walked away and we all kind of looked at each other and were like “Soooooooo..,” he came back about 15-20 seconds later. He then QUICKLY went over how to operate the Duffy. Maybe 10 seconds on how to operate the Duffy. He then asked “Do we have any questions?”The Duffy operated how a Duffy should operate. HOWEVER, the plastic window things that zip weren’t tied up so they kept falling throughout the duration of our ride. I even have a picture, which was a video, which I attached to this review.At the end of the ride there was about 3-4 guys and I felt like they were expecting some sort of tip. This was based off them asking about 4-5 times if we had a good time. The guy that checked us in was there still and he kept his head ducked down when we got back.All in all...I think I speak for my group when I say if you are looking for a place to rent a DUFFY in the NEWPORT HARBOR area, DO NOT go to “Newport Harbor Boat Rentals!”1. Customer Service: 1-2 out of 52. Price: 0-1 out of 5- SIGNIFICANTLY OVERPRICED by $453. Duffy: for the price 2 out of 54. View: 10 out of 5

We had a great time. The boat was clean, operated well, and the staff were very helpful. I highly recommend Newport Harbor Boat Rentals.

We had a good time. But overall the boats are run down. My clothing got messed up because the had duck tape on one side of the seat. And it kept pulling my clothes. I felt they were dirty. I didnt see crew disinfect boats when they were returned. The clear windows were pretty dirty we had to keep up to be able to see. Or for the one driving the duffy boat could see out. Specially at night. Im gonna say crew was nice. I just feel the boats need so much attention Specially if your are gonna be charging 170. Freshen them up. My family and I had a wonderful time but would probably choose another company just to feel a little more comfortable with cleanness and condition of boat.

Ez online booking. Doug is friendly and fast to get you your boat. Boats are always clean and run very well. This is a must do.

Doug the owner was willing to go the extra mile and answer questions in helping me find a canoe for I project im doing. I appreciate Dougs helpfulness even though I wasnt going to find what I specifically needed from his company. I will keep Newport Harbor Boat Rentals in mind for when i need a bigger boat. DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY. Horrible experience dealing with the staff! Incredibly rude unprofessional young guys out on the dock who immediately give attitude.
