Super awesome experience! We loved every minute of it. The guys at the dock were super helpful and friendly. Shoutout to JJ for assisting us with learning to navigate the pontoon. Really great service over the phone too. We got lost along the way and we were directed to their location very easily. Definitely coming back for more rides♡ thank you guys!!!!!

Great time out in the boat. So much going on from people partying on other boats, to just people watching. Bought some food to go and brought it on the boat. We had lunch and great scenery on our own personal boat. The staff was very friendly. Only downside is parking is terrible, so plan early to find parking.

Great fun. We rented it for 4 hours and cruised around the entire harbor. Took munchies and drinks with us and partied away. Easy to helm and easy to walk around on while cruising. Sorry Duffy but these are superior for renting and cruising. Definitely worth the price!

Awesome boats, Had a great time. Staff was great. Would rather rent this boat than a duffy. So much more room and nicer seating for everyone. I highly recommend.

We celebrated our 11 yr old daughters birthday, along with 6 of her friends and we had an absolute WONDERFUL time. We loved it so much, upon our return from 1 1/2hr cruise, we booked our 9 yr old sons birthday party for him and his friends! Great service, the boats are immaculate and definitely worth the cost! Thank You

We absolutely LOVE Newport Pontoons! We used to rent the small electric boats for sunset cruises but they are too small. The pontoons are so spacious that we recently started using them for board meetings and retreats. We no longer have problems getting board members to attend meetings.Steve BenderCEO Orange County Green Chamber

I bought a spreebird deal for Newport Pontoons and am very unhappy. I was hoping to get a refund for my Newport Pontoons u0002u0003u0003u0004u0005u0006u0002u0003u0003u0004u0005purchase, because I am unable to use it before Jan 25, 2013. I was diagnosed with cancer on Oct 15 and have not been well enough to use it. I would like my money back since I did not use it. I called Newport Pontoons and they said that I could use it after the expiration as long as I pay another $150. They would not even extend my expiration for one more week. These people are heartless and would not work with me. Spreebird righted their wrong, by refunding my money. Newport Pontoons is only after money.

Horrific experience, found $2,693.50 of damages charged to my credit card and the owner (Garrison) hung up on me!Prior to the rental, my friend reminded me to call to check what requirements there are to drive the boat, and whether there is insurance to cover potential accidents/damages to the boat (shes been on a boat before that was in accident, so she reminded me to check) So I did.I called before the rental date, I was told no license or specific requirements for driving the boat is required. Newport Pontoons will charge a deposit of $250 on my card at time of rental. If an accident occurs, I will pay up to $250 deposit, if less than $250 the difference will be refunded. So I asked.. what if the damage is over $250? I was informed by the rental rep that the rest will be covered by their insurance on the boat. I reported this information back to my friend, so I can go ahead with the rental. It was a lot of fun, we drove the boat around the marina and towards the end hit a muddy area and mud got stuck onto the propeller. We drove the boat back immediately after, but returned past due time and was charged overtime ($50, it was fair).I was told there may be damages due to the mud, and they will assess it and get back to me. I called the next day to check because I was leaving the country and wanted to follow-up what the damages might be (whether it will be the full $250 or some deposit will be refunded), the rental rep girl told me damages will be taken from my deposit, if any.Afterwards I found $2,693.50 charged to my credit card, I called Garrison the owner to explain my horrific surprise and the situation. He referred me to the fine print on the contract, they can charge me Newport Pontoons standards service rates and rate parts for repair. The breakdown of bill was $180 for part, $50 for extra clean up, $1,000 for downtime for repair, $600 for pull boat from water, $750 for labor time for repairs, $13.50 sales tax on part.I read negative reviews on yelp on living social coupon fine print disclosure, was aware of the experience others had, but since I know I accepted. I paid $85 living social coupon ($200 value) +$286 = $371 total for 3 hours of rental incl tax. + $50 overtime + $2,693.50 damages = $3,114.50.Garrison refused to make any refunds/changes to the damages bill, and told me his girls never and would never inform the customer about the “up to $250 deposit rest covered by insurance information”. He was very firm, very rude, and when I was firm to tell him what I was told by his “girl” with 100% certainty and that I will share my experience on public forum, he said he will sue me for slander and then hung up on me.$3,114.50 - This is my total for 3 hours 20 min. of fun (to be fair, I did enjoy the experience very much), and a lessons learned to: NEVER TRUST THE RENTAL REPRESENTATIVES’ PROVIDED INFORMATION AND ALWAYS READ THE CONTRACT CAREFULLY.Garrison, if you are reading this review. I would like to say again with 100% certainty that your rental rep girl did tell me to expect up to $250 (deposit amount) of damages at most and the rest will be dealt with on your company’s insurance on the boat.

I heard about Newport Pontoons via Living Social as many people I feel like do, and I had a much better experience than taking a duffy boat. Compared to a duffy boat, you can actually walk around and stand up comfortably, which to me is a major plus. We had a group of around 11 people. and we all comfortably fit on the boat with much room to walk around, sit, and do other activities...Price wise, I think the price was fair. Its not duffy boat cheap at 70$ but I mean you get what you pay for and this is no exception. Their pontoons are in great condition, theyre comfy, and again a definite upgrade over a duffy boat The whole cost came to a little less than 100$/hour for a weekend rental after taxes and the weekend surcharge. Also, The living social deal only was for two hours but I extended the rental for an additional hour. Looking back on it, I think I would have been okay with just the two hours. Also, how cool is it that you can drive up your boat to the different restaurants in Newport Harbor to eat. I drove our boat to Woodys wharf to pick up my gf and her friends after her birthday brunch at American Junkie, and boy was she surprised. All and all I would highly recommend!

Edited:Ok ok..i really wished i didnt have to put a 1 star but i was treated so badly by the Manager of the newport pontoons that i really didnt know where to turn to but social media. My intial expereince wasnt as tragic as the terrible customer service i was given but ill just share with yall what had happened.First, Parking is Validated and make sure not to give any money to the ticket attendent, he took mine and i wouldnt have known until others were talking about how parking is free if you are going to newport pontoons. So I had called prior about a 20x before i was able to reach garrison the first time to book the boat. That was a drag in itself because there literally was no one to answer my calls to book my orders ..i left several messages to give me a ring back and nothing! I was just gonna say tough but one last try and i finally reach him.So arriving and checking in was fine but what i felt I was cheated was how the top of our pontoons were on the whole time. We were told if we wanted to have one with the top off we should of mentioned it sooner. I didnt even know if there was an option!! I thought the entire expereince was what we see on their websites and what was given.. so false advertisement! It was completely overcast and when the sun actually came out we didnt get the chance to have it warm our bodies and just truly experience everything! The pontoon itsself was a bit rundown, not the cleanest and def not the newest, which was fine considering the fact that they probably rent it out all the time.So as mentioned in my tip Mike the manager whom i spoke to after the fact about how we werent given the full expereince was rude beyond belief. He had this condescending attitude with a hint of smart ass that really got my blood boiling. I mean really?? How do you expect to continue to get clients from anyone if you treat people like this?I try to call back in hopes to speak to Garrison but to no avail, I once again left voicemails, spoke to front desk - they told me they were going to text him and leave him my messages but nothing! If you plan on booking anything here..TOUGH! they are def. terrible at what they do and once again terrible at customer service!!
