Ive updated my review. I will leave the initial review in place here: I have loved sportclips for a long time. Only place Ive gotten my hair done for several years. Never had a bad experience until recently, quite honestly I loved the place. I tried to go in a couple weeks ago, I show up 40 minutes before the posted closing time and the door is locked and they tell me they are closed. This morning I go in, sign in using my phone number, and the stylist tells me I have to go sit in my car and wait. Well I wait for an hour, they never call me. I go back in and they tell me that despite the fact that I signed in with my phone number they didnt know what my phone number was or how to get back to me. Time to find a new place for a haircut.Update: the owner read my review and responded, and made things right. Their system for check in needs to be improved, but still a great place to go for a haircut.

They messed up my hair and then my mother took my son their 2 weeks later with out my knowledge andnthey messed his hair up.

My 11 year old son actually looks forward to going to get his hair cut by Alicia at Sport Clips. She is a great stylist and is always pleasant and efficient. The shop is clean, comfortable and customer focused. We have only had great experiences here, I highly recommend!

I went the other day to get my hair cut because my usual barber was closed and a nice lady named Hawa cut my hair and I was nervous because I’ve always gone to a barbershop but she did an awesome job!! I will definitely be going back to see her!! She was fast and my hair is perfect! Thank you again Hawa!!!

The experience of getting a haircut from there has been great so far. However, this time it was not that great. TINA got me offended and made me uncomfortable. She tried to teach me some good English. She said I should say ’ I want to POLISH nails’ instead of ’ I want to PAINT my nails’. I do know that it is called ’ nail polish’ and I am pretty sure that she understood what I meant by saying that but the way she attempted to teach me felt disrespectful. I wonder how many languages she can speak and if she knows how it feels like to speak in another language. Besides that, she tricked me to get shampoo which cost me a few extra bucks which was really not nice.

This place sucks. Lady named Claire has an attitude she refused to give me one of the coupons they give every customer! Avoid this location.

I went to Sport Clips because I had a coupon for a free haircut. The place is very clean and well lit with ESPN on all the TVs. I was greeted by a friendly staff member who had me sign-in. The computerized sign-in process was lengthy, but it was my first visit and I will assume it is easier with consecutive visits. The person who cut my hair said I would be given the full MVP treatment (haircut, shampoo, hot towel, and scalp&shoulder massage) for my first visit at no charge. My hair was cut well and the spa portion of my visit was pleasant.Being a no-nonsense kind of guy, the place does seem to be a bit over-the-top and I would only return for just a haircut. But, if you like all the extras and dont mind paying for them, then it is a good place to go.

A good haircut with a very comfortable massage and shampoo!Edit: After two years of regularly getting my haircut here, I am very disappointed that I was denied service after checking in and arriving at 5:31. The check in app says they are open until 6:05. The worker said you have to arrive before 5:30 even though she was not cutting anyones hair and I was next in line with my check in. She just wanted to go home and start cleaning. I drove from Wilmington and wasted my time. I am not going back anymore. Goldyns Barber Shop closes at 6:00 but still accepts people up until closing time. They care more since it is a small business.

Avoid. I paid $26 for a hair cut that took over an hour. Their stylist left me with a haircut that I had to buzz off and am now stuck wearing a hat. Go to literally any other barber in town. Shouldve left when I saw they were empty at lunch time.

This place is awesome! They have TVs while you wait my nephew said it’s like being at a game lol! He loved his haircut and he will be back. Thanks Alicia!

Jacqueline was my stylist and I have to say that the care and attention she paid to my needs and how I wanted my hair cut was awsome.. she fixed my hair which was uneven and I didnt know it was. You can surely tell she has a passion for what she does. I understand she has transferred locations and I will be sure to follow her.

This was my first time coming to this location and I was not dissapointed. Guillermina Gigi did a great job and was very pleasant and professional. Dont get rid of this woman because she was the nicest stylist Ive encountered since being a customer at sports clips and I will be coming back specifically for Gigi. Thank you!

Such a cool experience! Today was my first time here. Staff was very friendly & gave a great shape up. The offered me a complimentary MVP treatment as it was my first time; complete with hot towels, a massage chair & a back & neck massage. Would def re-visit! ☺

This salon is awesome. From the first time that I had gone, probably a couple of years back now, I have felt that this establishment values my business. All of the stylists that have cut my hair — first available — have been very friendly and professional. I have never received a bad haircut. I would recommend that you try this place out.

My favorite barbers are Antonio, Jacqueline, and Haili. Always such a wonderful service experience with either of these stylists. The products sold here pomades, beard oils, etc very expensive but worth every penny! I cant go back to any other barber in Newark! I love sport clips!

Chalkboard sign read Double MVP buy one get one free so I let my 7 yr old daughter have an inch cut off her straight shoulder length hair while her brother got a haircut. I was charged $21 for her haicut. The buy one is for a single MVP experience. Double gets you an extra hot towel on your face. Thats an upgrade not buy one get one free. Bait and switch. I paid after explaining thats not what the sign implies. I even said to the stylist in the beginning I would never pay for a haircut for her but since it was going to be free it was okay. Ill always get the price up front here from now on.

My husband went there today on his lunch break and the white lady that works there completely screwed his head all up. Freaking one of the worse jobs I have ever seen. This place SUCKS!.....looks like are 6 year old cut it.wish I could post pictures

Absolutely DO NOT use their services. My husbands hair was completely butchered - he very specifically told them only trim the sides and back with scissors only. They completely disregarded his instructions. Wish I could give zero stars.

Awful. I havent gotten a haircut here in a long time but i went to give it another go. Showed her a picture of what i wanted and she didnt even follow it. I dont remember her name but she was terrible. I do not recommend this place.

I always go to this salon and I like the work of Chrissy. But yesterday someone else (tim may be) did the haircut for me as chrissy was busy other customer. And i must say that it was a horrible haircut that i ever had in my life. she made me to wear a hat today. Never ever going back to this place again.

DONT LET JAKIE CUT YOUR HAIR! first of all if I could score 0 stars I would but since you have to give atleast one, here we are. My boyfriend and I went in for him to get a simple trim. Now he told this woman I don’t want any hairs sticking up or out, and I don’t want it to look messy. & told her take more off the top then the back. AND FOR SOME REASON SHE STARTS SHAVING THE SIDES!!! Now you’ll see in the pictures he had ALOT of hair. Immediately he tells her that wasn’t what he wanted without trying to be rude & told her to just even it out. Then she says well that’ll be charged as two different hair cuts. WE DIDNT PAY FOR ONE! That’s how bad it was. This is what we left with. In what world is this a trim!! Then when he told her he wasn’t going to pay for the HORRIBLE service this is how she sloppily finished. So unprofessional and as someone who’s a future cosmetologist, I would have fired this woman if she worked for me!! Awful. Never come here.

I have been going to this Sport Clips for a little over a year and each time I get a great haircut, just the way I like.
