Friendly, competent staff. Consistently staffed as well. Not a bunch of new faces every time you walk in the door.Can have very long wait times during peak hours.If youre a townie or have a flexible schedule go there during the week to avoid the wait.Ask for Ritzy.

Honestly I can say this was the best haircut I’ve ever received he did my whole sides and neck and it was honestly amazing the guy who did it was awesome to forget his name but if your a UD guy only place is Amstel.

Went to go get a haircut and hour before they closed and both the doors were locked and I could see everyone just chilling inside doing nothing. Mike was a saint while dealing with my autistic son. I didnt feel judged. He used caring hands and cheered my son on during the entire hair cut while taking breaks and being extremely understanding. Not to mention my sons hair cut is amazing!

Two out of three experiences were bad. The last one the guy did the complete opposite of what I asked him. I told him to keep my receding hairline covered as it already was. Then when I showed him how he actually cut that part shorter than the rest he didn’t apologize or anything. He just gave me an attitude when I didn’t tip him. You can see in the image where the part I wanted longer, he made it shorter than the bangs.

These guys really put in the effort.They really try to make a lot of fine details. I appreciate their work and their light-heartedness.

Im a caregiver. I help seniors.My gentleman really looked forward to our Saturdays, a fresh shave, coffee and brunch somewhere. Every time we were at Amstel we were treated very well. Tyler was extremely kind and it was very much appreciated. The young lady and also the young man at our last visit...I had the impression he was learning.The clientele even, good people. My gentleman had his shave paid for by a mystery man during one visit. He really wanted to thank that person, so if youre out there reading this... It meant so much to him. Thank you. This barber shop really captures the feel of barber shops of yesteryear. They have a great staff, with a great staff that takes its time to make sure you are taken care of.The only downside to this, is that it is very popular as a result. Be prepared to wait if you walk in for a haircut. And parking can be challenging, depending upon the time of day. But these are minor in comparison to what you get in service.

The atmosphere is unlike any other Barber Shop Ive been to you just feel right at home. Every time I walked through the door I hear the cheers song playing. Not only that they have great barbers as well that always do in phenomenal job and are very talented.

This is the second time Ive gone to Amstel for a haircut. I am a woman with short hair, and both times Ive gone to Amstel, the staff have done an excellent job and been very polite. Well worth the $18, especially when compared to a womens hairstylist, who would charge much more.

Nice place with skillful barbers. Only complaint, a few of them charge you $5 for tip even before you can decide. Therefore, a haircut that should be $18 ends up being $23. Not that they dont deserve it, but a tip of ~28% might be excessive sometimes.

I have twice to this place and both times two different people did a TERRIBLE JOB! My hair are longer on one side than the other there is no structure whatsoever!How do the hell in the world can you cut hair using just the clippers especially on long curly hair??If you want a DECENT hair cut GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Definitely not recommended!
