I found George’s shoe repair online after looking at many of the high ratings and praising reviews. I called for the first time to ask about shoes and pricing but ended up hanging up as I got the voicemail, figuring I’d call back later. In less than 10 minutes I received a call back without leaving any information or message. Very responsive, informative, professional, and a master at what he does. I left my favorite pair of boots to have the original soft tan leather soles be replaced with tougher rubber ones along with a good shine, weather proofing, and a few minor scratches looked at. I received the boots back looking brand new and in only two days, earlier than estimated! The new black soles looked as if they were part of the original design and will be much better for winter and walking around the streets of NYC. I will most certainly be bringing all my shoes to George’s for future repairs, weathering, and just up keeping!

Jacob replaced the handles on my computer bag and they are better than the originals! The leather is beautifully soft but strong, and the color and stitching are perfect. This is my go-to shoe and bag repair shop. I have a sweet dog who has a chewing problem, and the shop is always able to professionally repair my items with a short turn-around and for a reasonable price. The employees are knowledgeable (they even give me tips for dissuading my dog from chewing!) and friendly. I like this shop so much that I continue to give them my business, despite no longer working in the area.

I couldn’t say enough good things about my experience I had here. Joseph was awesome! I had a pair of dress shoes that got really destroyed after a wedding. If you have ever searched for the proper way to clean/condition/shine a brown multicolor pair of leather shoes, you will find how unhelpful the internet can be.I needed my shoes cleaned that Saturday; I waited till the last minute. I walked in and spoke to Jacob, and he told me that he wouldn’t be able to get them done that day. I figured that, and was looking for any advice and materials I will need to do the job myself. Greg was extremely helpful! He showed me all the materials I would need, described in great detail what the materials were and would do, and then described in great detail instructions on what I should do. They turned out great! For something like this, reading instructions and buying things online just doesn’t get the job done. I was very happy I was able to find this shop.

Hands down THE best shoe repair in the city. I know ... everyone swears by Leather Spa but if you want true craftsmanship Georges is by far the best. I had a brand new pair of Tods boots, scraped the leather right across the toe. I thought they were ruined .. Leather spa said they would have to redye them $$$$$ it would take a week -- George fixed it while I waited and you cannot even tell there was ever a scratch there!!!! In 30 years Ive tried all the top shoe repair shops -- Georges is #1.

Have gotten suede and leather shoes cleaned here multiple times and they did some minor repairs on a leather duffel bag if mine, and the work is always outstanding.Definitely my go-to shoe and leather repair shop.

So Yesterday I Walked into George’s Shoe Repair with my fiance, coming off of the E Train on 53rd - Lexington after a strap on my Vintage Goyard Tote came off. I am very skeptical of having my bags repaired by anyone, but on this day, New York City was hit with a massive flurry of wind and snow that came out of nowhere, and I simply couldn’t deal with the inconvenience of trying to carry my purse through it. The strap was repaired so damn well, that I couldn’t distinguish which strap had been detached. Honestly.My fiance has been into the shop a number of times, where he has had some of his vintage leather belts, repaired, and shoes shined before work, but even he was surprised by the quality of the reconstruction. With such an attention to small details the price for the repair was more than worth it, especially since my bag is an important piece of my collection.I strongly recommend that if anyone in New York City needs anything from repairs, to umbrella’s for our random inclement weather there is no better place in the city to trust.

If I can give it a minus star, I would. Went there today to get my natural-color shoes (with natural color soles) to be shined. The guy that was shining my shoes accidentally used a black shine for the soles and made the sides of the soles black. He tried to fix it, but couldnt and said that if after it dries, its still black, bring it back.It was still black and I did bring it back. The guy from behind the counter (owner?), old and rude told me that his shiner didnt do any mistake, and they do NOT make mistakes. He insists on charging me $8 to clean my shoes and he said it didnt matter what his shiner did. The shiner looks to be afraid.Avoid this place at all cost. Theyre cheaters, rude and treats customers like sh**. That old guy is the ultimate a**hole right there. Mind you, this is not the first time that I was there. The first several times were fine and only this dude is the one thats being rude after they f-upd my shoes. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Made my Church’s shoes look bad - how is that even possible? Sloppy/unskilled workmanship. Go to Jim’s or similar instead. 100$ cheaper, sure. But my shoes now look 500$ cheaper. Check the glue on the leather...
