They dont make places like this anymore. They are truly the one and only place I will purchase a vacuum from or ever get one serviced. They are honest and incredibly kind and beyond knowledgeable. I bought my Miele there over 10 years ago and I needed to call in today for an issue. They walked me through it and everything is perfect again. I cant say enough nice things about these guys. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS HERE. You wont regret it ever.

Crown Machine Services serviced my 30 year old sewing machine and it was returned to me good as new! In addition, we had burned through the plug of our Miele vacuum (lesson learned: only use Miele brand bags!) and Crown was able to get it back in working order and serviced it to like new function. They were the first people I called when I wanted to purchase a refurbished Miele for a second home. Looking forward to picking that up soon! They put their sticker on the machines they service so you can easily know who to call. I am so glad they exist and wouldnt hesitate to bring any small home appliance to them. They are thorough, kind, knowledgeable, and beyond capable. A NYC gem!!

I have been going to Crown for many years for repairs on vacuums, sewing machines, and a CD player. It’s so heartening to be able to get something fixed rather than be told to toss it. As I’m a little overly anxious about my sewing machine, I wish I didn’t have to pay $39.95 for a diagnosis even when nothing is wrong. I am moving and I will definitely miss this place.

Knowledgeable and honest! What a rarity in the city when more and more corporations and chains and moving in on every corner. This store has remained true to its history. I purchased a vacuum here a few months ago and couldnt be happier. I love supporting small businesses and this is one that I can shop from with a huge smile on my face!

I don’t even live close by and I won’t go anywhere else for my vacuum and sewing machine repairs/purchases. I wanted to give a Miele as a Christmas gift so went over to Crown, spoke with Mark (who was knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions), and came home with a gift I’m actually excited to give! Everyone who works there knows what they’re talking about and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. And they have a sense of humor! A+

I foster both dogs and cats so needless to say there is some pretty heavy cleanup needed around my apartment. I hate to admit it but Ive been using one of those little hand held vacuums for the longest time because I wanted something that I could just run over my area rugs and furniture with. I finally decided to get a real vacuum and I cannot believe I waited so long. I went to Crown after being recommended by a coworker. I love helping small local businesses and am so happy with my experience. My friend bought her sewing and embroidery machine here but I told her that if she is ever in need of a vacuum, these are the guys to go to!

Rip off dont go here!!!! You need to give a 39.50 CASH ONLY deposit to drop it off that goes to towards the total. I was first told it could be finished that same day (Saturday) or Monday MORNING at the latest, I called at 6ish at night on Monday because they didnt call me and they said it wasnt ready and then told me a price that it would be when I came to pick it up. Wasnt ready until Tuesday night and they called me half an hour or so before they closed... Not enough time to even get there so I had to wait till Wednesday (today) after work to pick it up! Then... They told me that tax wasnt included in the total they gave me before even though its a cash transaction and when you say total that should include tax... In total paid $98 (they wanted to charge $111, I couldve bought a new stinking sewing machine) to get my sewing machine fixed.... He tried to rip me off again and say that the light bulb wasnt included in the total either and that I had to pay $4 extra on top of the 98. Such bull crap.... It was a simple fix... Do not go here take your services to another more reliable place youll be so much happier if you do.... The one star is because it is fixed but for the price I am extremely disappointed.

Brilliant old school New York rip-off experience! Its getting increasingly hard in the city to find authentic small businesses that know how to properly insult their customers while cheating them but these guys have mastered it over several dedicated years. Just step with your broken appliance into this dingy little place and feel like youve been transported to the set of a Jim Jarmusch film - one in which you get to play the naive idiot! First hand over $40 cash, let them know your need for a fast turnaround and wait for their promised call. Call them yourself to hear that its very complicated inside your machine and everything is bent and its going to cost another $140 to really find out whats wrong but that you should instead buy a new one from them. Go to pick the machine up and laugh at them because they havent even opened it despite taking your 40 bucks. Skeptically listen to the guy saying that hell do you a favour and fix it for another $60, and decide you want to see what happens with the next plot twist! It worked! They really did fix a minor problem in the appliance for $100 cash! Sure there are plenty of other places you could go in the city that will give you professional service, but dont miss out on the full authentic surly New Yorker experience: insulting you and each other while you hand over your greenback. Highly recommend!

This place is an absolute GEM! The knowledgeable gentleman at the desk (possibly owner) was very patient with me as I explained the issues I had been having with my Miele Vacuum. He diagnosed the issue right away and now my vacuum works like NEW! I would recommend this place to all my friends and family without hesitation.

Unless I move to Siberia, I will always make the effort to get to Crown when I need a Miele part, a new or used Miele, or any type of stereo/sewing machine, etc. repair. This is one of Manhattans Upper West Sides go-to father-and-son businesses---theyve been in business for years. And years might go by before I need a repair or an attachment, but son Mark always remembers me. The negative review below is utterly without merit. And shame on that person (competitor?) for failing to acknowledge the integrity and expertise of this great family business.

My advice to anyone reading: PLEASE take your machine to Mike at Sewmark on 36th and 8 Ave. This company fixed my machine that Mark at Crown Repair stated was not fixable for under the cost of the sewing machine. It cost only $50 total and they fixed in 24hours at Sewmark. Sewmark takes all forms of payment, specialize in ALL sewing machines, very kind, fair, honest and noble people with a clean establishment. I love this company and should have taken my machine here per usual and NOT to Crown Repair. This Crown Repair is inadequate and not educated enough to service the community for sewing machines. The owner Mark is very rude. The Establishment is not aesthetically pleasing. Mark charged me $40 NON REFUNDABLE to keep my sewing machine for a week and was unable to come up with a resolution. Either his workers are seriously inexperienced with sewing machines or his angle is to devalue and manipulate you into believing your machine is no longer valuable so he can try to sell you one of his and make more money! There is a lot more to the story I even decided to report them to the Better Business Bureau. Just please do not take your machine here. Go to Sewmark.

Charged around 80 dollars to fix a Dyson vacuum. The vacuum died within 5 minutes of bringing it back home and only after taking it apart and testing various parts with an identical Dyson unit did I discover the source was a faulty battery pack. Not only did they charge an absorbent amount of money they clearly didnt know what the problem was. I was told there was a faulty connection and that it had been repaired. In summation they charged me 80 bucks to do absolutely nothing other than lie to my face. Total rip off

Unfortunately, the poor reviews are true. I called today to ask about bringing in my beloved antique fan and the guy proceeds to tell me I should just forget about it. He said they only deal with tech and other equipment. Meanwhile, Im thinking I would never be trusting any tech equipment to a vacuum repair place. The guy was very arrogant. After I told him I had found his listing on the internet and would return to the listing to give him a negative review, he tried back pedaling. But really, it was too late. Im surprised their business continues to operate.

It is very true. This is a horrible sewing machine repair shop. They will lie to you, tell you you need to pay for things you dont ACTUALLY need. They also said I needed to make a $40 deposit in order just to leave my machine there and have them look at it, which would then be refunded or credited towards whatever work was done. And when I go back the guy looks at me like Ive got two heads. I would highly suggest finding a better shop. Especially if youre a bit of a pushover when it comes to your own money.

A total rip-off!!! Stay away. They charged me $40 to tell me that my cd player was dirty and needed alignment...but I already knew that, thats why I brought it in. Then they wanted another $119.00 to clean and align it. Total $159.00 to clean and align my cd player. I lost the initial $40 but refused their estimate and took the unit to Hi-Tech Electronics Service Center in Chinatown and they did the job for $60 total. If you go to Crown Machine Services, I guarantee youre not going to leave happy.
