HANDS DOWN THE BEST LOCKSMITH IN NYCI bent the key to my 90s Honda moped, which is discontinued and was never sold in America, something that seemed to be very difficult and hard to find blanks for. I called over 15 different locksmiths in and around the Village area, then went to 4 of them, and all of them were no help. Until I came to Greenwich Locksmith, immediately after 2 minutes of talking to them they already guaranteed me they could make me a copy. I brought the bike over to them shortly after and within minutes he made me 2 new sets of keys and I was back up and running. These guys are the real deal, any other Locksmith in NYC is a scam. There is no other locksmith I will ever go to again. Im very grateful for their knowledge and expertise, if it wasnt for them I wouldve believed the other guys who told me I need to spend hundreds of dollars to mold the key to the ignition etc. You should stop by even if you dont need new keys because they are some really awesome people and even better locksmiths.

I cannot recommend this place more! My apartment key got stuck at 5:40 pm and they closed at 6. Phil was at my building in less than 15 minutes, despite his work day being over, and had the issue diagnosed in the next 10. Beyond friendly, explained the issue to me in a way I could (almost) understand, gave me all of my options, and on top of it all, was affordable. Needless to say, if you need a locksmith, this is the place to call! Simply incredible service. Thank you, Phil!!!! (Side note: the “24 hour” place didn’t even answer)

Greenwich Locksmiths is simply the best Locksmiths in town.Ive lived in Manhattan for over twenty years, and have stayed in multiple buildings that have led to lock-outs, key reprogrammings, and cutting of unique building keys, and Phil and the rest of the team at Greenwich Locksmiths has always been amazingly fast and fair in every transaction Ive ever had with them.Most recently, I had to get lock cuts for a very unique exterior door that was imported from China (they are called Baodean keys, and have a very unique curve to them). It was a Sunday (when Greenwich Locksmiths wasnt opened), so I called about ten locksmiths in the city and literally none of them had the key (in fact none of them even knew what the key was). I decided to wait until Monday and swung by Greenwich Locksmiths; not only did they have the key, but they cut me three copies very fast and charged a great price.I cant recommend these guys enough. Phil and his team are simply the best in town!!!

An amazing little historical venue to have keys made and copied. Phil was kind enough to make a complicated copy of my building key on short notice. And the best part is the key worked on the first turn😎

Walked up to the owner while him standing outside on the doorway and presented him with a lock and cylinder that I needed a new/proper CAM for the cylinder. Asked him for one and he walked inside, few seconds later a different person comes out and asked What you want? I told him that Ive already spoken to the other guy and most likely is inside looking for what I want. He then proceeded to tell me hes the one thats gonna take care of me, moving forward I showed him the lock and specifically told h what I needed. He gave me a price of $35 for the CAM that only costs $3.45 and I told him that he was trying to rob me and not good business review will come of this. He charged at me and kept walking up to my face WITHOUT A MASK and PHYSICALLY THREATENED ME. I rapidly walked away from him and he gave chase into the middle of 7th Ave. I reached for my phone and snapped a few shots of them giving chase JUST CAUSE I CALLED THEM CROOKS and was gonna post it. We are in the middle of a pandemic and its bad enough we have to go out to work but deal with this type of IGNORANT people. Read all reviews and SEE the pattern of behavior and language they use on customers.

Philip even stamped the id number on a set for my team which was super rad. Also the place is just so magical to visit. Best key spot in the NYC without a doubt.

Phil and his Son were super helpful and were successfully able to copy an obscure French key that I havent been able to find anyone else who can. They had to specially mod a QuickSet key but made it work. I came with 6 diff keys (including that obscure French key) and had over 30 keys made. They finished in less than 90 min and every single key worked. I would Def go again and plan on it as I have another one of those obscure French keys (the doors were from Canada). Great little shop. Best locksmith in the city.

I asked for a quote to change a lock in a small outdoor notice box for our block association. This was January 15. I texted and stopped by mid February to check on the status. I was told they were really busy. The son said “oh maybe I should take this out of text and do a proper order” Fine. Still no rush. I texted and stopped in again beginning March. They still said they were too busy. When I asked when, the father said within two days. Today, 4 days later, I get a call saying they replaced a lock on another street and was it mine. Here is a copy of the text:“Wanted to confirm if the box we are changing is the one you originally sent photos of, Phil asked me to change another box in a hallway closer to Carmine”When I responded that was not me nor nothing to do with me, the son suggested I was not a nice guy and told me to go elsewhere.I went to the shop to speak in person and the father was there. I asked him why I got a text like this after all this time, he told me I needed to relax and said he wasn’t responsible for texts his son sends on behalf of the business. It escalated and he became very aggressive to a point where I felt the need to film him. He ended up telling me to shove something up my a**.Well, I wouldn’t go back. Very disappointing as they’ve been my go to for 30 years.

Went today to get my key fob duplicated and Medeco key copied and everything went perfectly fine. Just got home and tried them and it works well. Phil Jr was very courteous and did the job quick. These guys are amazing. Ive now done 3 home security projects with them. The first one was an intercom repair. Other locksmiths quoted me $2000+, but Phil (Junior) told me over the phone how to fix it myself in 5 minutes, and didnt charge me anything!Phil (Senior) helped me install an August Smart Lock, which is operating perfectly. And Phil (Junior) upgraded my comelit home intercom system to a wifi setup.All my experiences were great. These guys are smart and thoughtful, stand by their work, and charge a fair price. They were very professional but also friendly, and treated me with both respect and compassion (I had gone to see them after someone had vandalized the deadbolt on my front door).Their work was top notch, and the price fair. I had a very important older key that I needed duplicated. Luckily, I was able to obtain an original, new old stock blank for it.Given the rarity of the original key blank that I acquired, I needed this key cut by the absolute best of the professionals. I was looking for place that creates copies of rfid key fobs at a reasonable price. A lot of places offer mail in service only which takes a few days. Considering the importance of keys it was awesome to be able to have my copies made on site while I waited.

Super friendly. Only locksmith Ive found who can clone both parts of a Schlage iButton key. This clearly isnt just an old fashion locksmith shop - theyve kept up with the latest technology. We even had a conversation about computer programming and machine learning.

I first came here about nine years ago when I lost the ignition key to my 1987 Volkswagen. I removed the lock, and they were able to make me a key from that. They were the only place I could find with the knowledge and skills to do this. Now this is the only place Ill go for lock and key services--even just for simple copies--because I know the work will always be of the highest quality.

I had a copy made of a Keri Access Control Card for my apartment. Philip Jr. was knowledgeable in coping encrypted keys and was nice enough to answer my questions about the process. The key was made for me under 1 minute. I will be coming back for any future keys and I recommend coming here.

I was in a jam and needed a broken key that was jammed in my battery lock to be removed and then have a copy made. I didn’t think it was possible but miraculously Phil and Jr. pulled it off. They were able to remove the broken key from the lock and find a match. Amazing.

Good peoples here at this shop. Its a very cute little place, and very convenient to get to.I had two keys made and an RFID tag copied. All of that took less than 5 minutes and cost around $50 total. The RFID tag was most of that cost, and I believe the price was reasonable.It feels nice to support a professional, local business like this.

Was told over the phone that I didnt know what I was talking about. (despite having a run an online key duplication business for years) Mistakenly went in anyway because I needed a key code-cut that day. I was insulted several times, including being told that if you were a locksmith youd use different words despite me never claiming to have been a locksmith. Stay away and go to one of many locksmiths nearby that cut keys without insults. Safe to say that I wont be returning.EDIT: My phone conversation with him was recorded. It would be a shame if I released it (or sent to news media) because NY is a one-party consent state. Furthermore, I have attached pics of my receipt. It seems to me that a review from his competition might include a more specific recommendation than one of many locksmiths nearby. His original response to this review (posted publicly) referred to me as a know it all [sic] and obnoxious. I sincerely hope that he finds something more worthy his time this holiday season than villifying customers.
