I dropped off a 16TB hard drive for recovery and was quoted just under $15,000 for the repair. I tried calling the employee assigned to my case several times to discuss the process and to get a better idea of what they’d be doing as the quote was rather vague (and expensive). After three unsuccessful attempts I decided things didn’t feel right with this company. I declined the repair, picked up my drive, and took it to Mikey’s Hookup in Brooklyn. They promptly plugged my drive in while I was in-store and had it working immediately with no charge.Will surely never go to WeRecoverData again and suggest you don’t either!

This company totally ripped me off! I ended up sending then a $256Gb SSD out of an Apple Laptop with a motherboard power problem. Im certain there was absolutely no damage to the SSD itself, the computer had lost power like that numerous times before, and it never damaged the drive. I just couldnt get the laptop to power back up again, and the SSD has a rare type of interface connector thats not readily available. I could have bought a new motherboard for about $500 and installed it myself to both recover the data, and have a working computer when I was done. With the right adapter or another like-model computer, recovery would have been trivial. Im a computer technician, I do this kind of work myself, I just couldnt find an adapter for that SSD interconnect, and figured the cost of recovery would be less than the cost of a new motherboard. They charged their $100 diagnostic fee, just to quote me over $1,700 for the recovery! When I declined the recovery, they charged me another $40 just to mail the stuff back to me via USPS (which costs about $6). The worst part is, Im almost certain they damaged the drive beyond recovery doing whatever godforsaken thing they thought they needed to charge $1,700 for, so now I wont even be able to get another motherboard and recover the data myself. WARNING: THEY RIPPED ME OFF AND DESTROYED MY DATA! These guys might be good at complex data recovery, but they are a total, 100% rip-off on easy recovery jobs. DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS IT IS YOUR ABSOLUTELY ONLY OPTION LEFT!

I had to go with my intuition and stop speaking with these guys. I dont even know if these positive reviews fake comments + their website is too show-offy. These folks were potentially going to charge me $550-$2000 to recover data from an external harddrive. All of my files got deleted because I unejected from computer too early. So, I ended up doing it myself for free or cheap through data recovery programs; such as, EaseUS Data Recovery. There are more programs; such as, Disk Drill etc. Through YouTube searches, you can find cracked versions of these softwares or pay a cheaper fee for full versions. Im tired of a world making a business out of untechy-savvy people. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.

Great from start to finish

The RAID on the NAS failed with 2 drives unresponsive, and we needed the data yesterday. We dropped off the hard drives and expedited the initial survey and they said they can recover the data! After 4 days they pulled the data off the drives and after we paid them, we got the data and it was all there!

WeRecoverData was able to retrieve priceless information off of a 20 year old floppy disk. I didnt have a lot of faith given how old the disk was but felt it was worth a shot, especially because the company maintains theres no charge if the file cant be recovered. Instead, I was met with an unexpected surprise. Furthermore, the turn time was incredibly fast and the job was relatively inexpensive. The journey with the Recovery started on Dec 11. and ended in the first week of January 2020! supposed to be a 3-5 day recovery and whenever i sent a request for information it was almost non existent except for the phrase Copying is still in progress and we will keep you posted for almost a month. My account was charged on Dec 23 and i didnt get my project for 2 more weeks. You make a claim on the web and then ship out your hard drive. They responded very fast and were very helpful with what they could do to recover the data. We had an IBM RAID 6 array that may have been expanding from four drives to five. Something went wrong and there was at least one incorrect rebuild done after that. Ontrack performed a recovery attempt without success. We didn’t give up and we found WeRecoverData which claimed they recovered successfully many of these RAIDs. I dropped off my drive the same day and stressed that I needed a recovery of my Lightroom Catalog, not just the individual photo files, or it would not be worthwhile for me. I have a backup copy but had lost a lot of work. The next business day I received an assessment. They were quick and straightforward but also patient in awaiting my decision to proceed or not. In the end my photos and work were saved, in the format I needed, on a new 1TB USB Drive.
