IStore came through in the clutch for me when I needed a same-day repair! Normally a walk-in screen replacement takes 2-3 hours because of how busy they are, but they were able to do an expedited service in under 1 hour.Luis was extremely helpful in explaining the possible options to me. He was very kind and friendly. Would highly recommend based on their speed and customer service.

: not ideal :My macbook pro was having issues with the c ports and not detecting the charger.I paid 119 dollars up front for diagnostics and two-three days later they told me I had to change the mother board which would cost me about 500-600 dollars. They even tried to get me to buy a new laptop through them.Instead of getting a repair, I took it to an apple store at the world trade center, and they ran a couple things and told me that nothing seems to be wrong and there is no need to change the mother board. I dont know if the guy at the store lied to me on purpose or not but I almost paid 600 dollars for a repair that I didnt need.I suggest just going to the apple store, no matter how much hurry youre in.

TL;DR: Unless you are really in a bind and are getting covered service under warranty, save yourself the time and trouble and go to an official Apple Store. There are 9 of them in NYC.Brought in an out of warranty Macbook for battery replacement. Apple clearly states on their site that the service cost for this is a flat $199, and their phone support referred me to iStore as my closest option. Upon arriving, I was instructed there would be a $100 non-refundable deposit before they begin work, which I didnt mind since I was expecting to pay $199 anyway. Just to confirm, I asked what this would run, total, and I was informed of a laundry list of fees totaling over $450, and this was just the starting figure, as their diagnostics might indicate other things might be wrong. Alarm bells start ringing, and I show the tech the page where Apple lists the service fees on battery replacement. He lies and says that price is just for parts, and that labor, shipping, etc. is extra, and sarcastically suggests maybe Apple will do it for free if I want to try.I mosey on over to one of several Apple Stores in NYC, and within 15 mins of sitting at the Genius Bar, I have my computer on its way to an official Apple repair facility for the expected cost of $199. Due to its age, it had to be sent out of repair, but bonus is that itll be directly mailed back to me, free of charge (unlike the bogus shipping fees I was informed of at iStore).I always prefer to support small businesses when I can (even at increased cost to me), but this is one to avoid. Predatory tactics through and through.

First time customer of St Moritz as Im having problems with my iMac battery. I just read some of the reviews below and am truly surprised at the negative ones. I think the customer service is top notch. I mentioned to Jason who helped me that I was nervous about the expense of the repair. He was super helpful and patient in explaining the potential situations and prices before they started the service. He even brought a tech out to delve deeper into my questions. They also offer (for what I think is a reasonable fee) the opportunity to take your computer home while they wait for the parts to be delivered. I also felt very Covid safe in the environment.Although I hope to not have any more tech breakdown on me, I definitely will return to for my next repair.

I was quite shocked by the service i received at this store and would not recommend this to anyone. I went to get my a diagnosis for my MacBook Airs display (it was flickering) -- First i had to pay 160$ upfront without even knowing what the problem was, later i received a call saying that they couldnt find anything but that i should try removing the sticker from my webcam as it might interfere with the Macbook. This was the most expensive advice I have ever received, and the problem, of course, persisted. As they were recommending me to either buy a new display (for over 700$) or a new macbook altogether, i finally went to see another repair place, where they told me that the problem was quite simple, and that my macbook just needed cleaning and a new brightness chip. Dont go to this place folx, apple is just out there for your money.

My 2018 MacBook Pro requires a replacement battery. Unfortunately, none of the Apple locations in NYC are able to provide this service in store. I was very happy to chat with Jeffrey at iStore and hear that they will be able to order the part for me, while I hang onto my device. They are an Apple Certified repair center conveniently located right off of Union Sq. Jeffrey was able to squeeze me in the same day for a diagnostic test. Louis, in the store, was very accommodating to my needs and worked out logistics with the techs to service my laptop before I head out of town. The part is ordered and I will receive a call when it is in to drop off my computer. Work for me is finally picking up and I greatly appreciate how they are going beyond to make sure I can continue to accept jobs!In addition, they are practicing social distancing, wearing masks, and have a barrier setup at the counter.

Two days later, I have a missed call and email asking me for the password. Since then, I have called and left multiple voicemails, as they never pick up the phone, and sent emails, all with no response. 6 days without a response over phone or email is completely unacceptable considering they have my expensive laptop and I have no clue what’s happening, if it’s been repaired, or how long it will actually be before I get my computer back (I was quoted 3-4 days).

Save yourself the stress. I know youre only considering this place because you may have to wait a week or so for an appointment at the actual Apple Store, but trust me its well worth it. Let me explain:I took my macbook here because my screen cracked. I first attempted to get an appointment at an apple store, but wasnt in town long enough and I needed my computer for school like that day. I did not know that BOTH Apple and Authorized retailers ship your device to a central location where your screen is fixed (just fyi). Regardless, it was going to take 3-5 days to see my device again. Here, they will tell you this info, but in a very dismissive tone as if you were supposed to know this information already. I conceded, gave them my device, paid the repair fee, and ALSO (and this is important) paid $30 for Ground Shipping to have it shipped BACK to my town upstate. So why (why), on Sept 23 (a week later) did I receive this email from them, Your MacBook Air is now ready, you can pick up anytime Monday-Friday 11AM-6PM and Saturday 11AM-4PM. ? I died a little inside. As we all know, zoom is ESSENTIAL for school nowadays and I was relying on my PHONE to write papers, do homework, and attend classes. I missed out on a lot, but not a huge loss. It was the you can pick up for me. By gods grace I was not about to drive 8 hours to pick-up a macbook when I PAID 30 whole dollars to have mailed TO ME. I called them to inform them of the mistake and the TONE had me. Apparently, I was in the wrong for informing them that my device was not to be picked up, but mailed, so OBVIOUSLY (thats what they said to me) they would mail it as soon as possible. Which they did.The next day, I received a UPS notification email of the label having been created. Grand. It didnt get passed there. For 5 days, there was no update. Normally, for repairs, I wouldnt be worried. But when a $1000 piece of metal with ALL my info, passwords, credit card info on it, is potentially floating around somewhere between iStore and UPS with the only update being that a label was created. Obviously I had reason to be concerned. So on Monday Sept 28, I call them to inquire (and this is important too) about the actual location of my thing. Whoever picked up told me, essentially, thats concerning, i dont know, then told me he would check with UPS, and give me a call back in an hour. THREE hours went by before I called them back myself... about 4 times. Either their lines were busy or they were refusing to pick up their phone. THEN when I did get hold of one, I was put on hold, then they dropped me.I called one last time and whomever picked up told me that Im too impatient and that I need to wait for UPS to update the information and that it takes 3-5 business days... Thats all great information, but aside from shipping my device to an apple facility, there was nothing about this place that made me think they were competent to do even the most basic tasks which INCLUDES not being rude to customers and keeping them updated about their expensive devices that contain very personal information.Thumbs down all around. So, save yourself the time. Just wait and go to the Apple Store or something...

I think these guys are incompetent at best, dishonest at worst.Long story short- they told me that the main board on my Mac Book Pro had failed and it would cost $1200 to repair it. I got a bad feeling after discussing, paid the $119 diagnostic fee and took it to Apple. The guy at the genius bar fixed it in 60 seconds, no charge.Details:I took my MacBook Pro in because it wasnt charging - using a charger and cable that worked fine on another MacBook Pro. I had read that my particular model had an issue with a chip that communicates woth the charging port, and that it could be replaced, and I told them that. They took it in to perform diagnostics, for a $119 fee that would be applied to any repair. A few days later, they came back with an estimate for $1200, saying that the main board had failed and needed to be replaced. I asked some questions, and the answers were not answers to my question but rather reasons why they could not answer. It all seemed suspect, so I took it back and ate the $119.I looked the laptop over, and it didn’t seem like theyd even opened it up. Ive replaced RAM, hard drives and peripherals in laptops, and usually when you open a macbook that hasnt been opened before, you can see it on the screws and openings. I could be wrong, but I think this looks like a macbook that has never been opened.I took it to the Apple Store, where the guy did the reset SMC key combo but held them down for like a minute (I had done it, but held for the 10 or 15 seconds suggested). The macbook started up, and started charging. A week later, all is still good.

I came here to fix a heating issue/battery replacement for my MacBook Pro mid-2015 retina. Apple support advised me to visit this location because the next available appointment at Apple stores near me would be in a week.Apple support explained that a MacBook battery replacement at an Apple Authorized Service Provider should cost about the same as if I were to replace it at the Apple store ($199.00 plus tax if replaced by Apple). When I got quoted, they said about $363.00 ($110.00 plus tax for a non-refundable diagnostic test, which they dont do in front of you, and ~$200.00 for the top case with the battery) and I would have my MacBook back in 2-3 business days. I was fine with paying more since they initially told me my computer would be ready for pick-up in 2-3 business days. I paid the $110.00 plus tax deposit on my initial visit and expected my computer to be ready for pick-up in a couple of days.On the supposed day of pick-up, I called in advance to check if my MacBook was ready since they didnt contact me. During my call, they told me that they had lost my login information (which I provided on a post-it the day I got quoted) for my MacBook to do the diagnostics test. This was completely unacceptable as they told me my computer would be ready in 2-3 business days and they havent even run the test. After they ran the test, they contacted me and told me they would have to order the top case with the battery from Apple and then start on the repair when it arrives (which took another week and a half). If they initially told me this, I would have just waited to get an appointment at Apple and the repair wouldve been cheaper and faster. After 2 weeks from my initial visit, it was ready for pick-up and the heating issue wasnt fixed when I tested it myself. Therefore, the employee took it to the back of the store for the technicians advice. He came back and tried explaining to me that the technician said: the MacBook is like that when it turns on (it is not like that, because I came here for this issue). He also didnt believe me that the issue was present and directed me to show him. I showed him and thats when he took it to the technician for the 2nd time and told me to come back in an hour. I came back after an hour and tested it again; the problem was resolved and I paid my remaining balance but I did not like the customer service that was provided.Overall, customer service was unsatisfactory and deceptive. I can understand if iStore provided impeccable service and charged an expensive fee, but the service provided was inefficient/deceptive and yet they had the AUDACITY to charge more than the Apple store.Advice to potential future customers: Go to the Apple store and dont bother with this place.

I brought my MacBook Pro circa 2012. As the battery indicated “needs servicing”. Paid the $97 diagnostic fee ( that will be subtracted if I agree to continue with whatever fault and repair they will find and charge for it), the lone person (who has the personality of a dead person) also offered additional $50 to expedite the process as he claimed there are lots of repairs they’re doing (I declined). He also claimed, the price will be the same if I brought it to apple store for repair. They called me back 3-4days later and claimed the battery needs changing and front panel for $249 and service fee of $157.50 for a total $406.50. Their diagnostic test revealed that the battery is old, and I have to pay $97 for that?? Suspicious of the pricing, I called Apple and a customer support staff named Anamaya, claimed for my macbook the price to replace it cost $129 with no service Charge. Going to this shop is like going to an auto shop where they are on a trip to inflate the price. I relayed the price difference to the technician and claimed that he can’t do anything about the pricing as this is set by the owner. Never again, just go straight to Apple for any type of repair.

Wouldn’t replace the battery on my Mac without charging 600$ for keyboard replacement as well. Waste of a trip, went to Appleberry instead.

Cameron was so, so friendly when I came in for a macbook battery replacement. He even charged the laptop for me so it was 100% when I picked it up, and gave me advice about other computer issues I was having. He made my day!

Came in with a faulty trackpad. They charge you like 90 dollars to run diagnostics. That’s then deducted from the cost of the repair. Anyway. I have to replace my keyboard too. They want to replace my motherboard too. I say no to the motherboard, just replace what’s have to be replaced. The whole top case apparently. They call me the next day asking me what has to be replaced. Apparently they don’t communicate in there. I have to wait another day before they can order the parts. They order the parts, they said it would come over night. I call every day for a week. It’s still not done. I call one morning remembering, I have a Swedish standard keyboard, did they order a US one? Of course they did. I have to wait another week for the new parts. I call every day. It took 11 days in total. The only reason I give 2 stars, not 1, is because they didn’t charge me for the labor. My experience as a whole is that it’s a sloppy attitude from some of the people working there. I won’t come back, unfortunately

I dropped off my computer for warrantee service 9 days agao, and they said well contact you in 48 hours. Nada. Zip. zilch. Nothing. Holy cow, Ive emailed, called (no answer), filled out the form on their web site. I just cant believe this is a premium apple repair center. I wonder if I will ever get my laptop back. I depend on it for my work and I am leaving on a trip soon... Based on my experience so far, I will never go back.

Very helpful and friendly folks. Its great to see one of the former Tekserve guys filling in the gap left by Tekserve closing. The spirit of that store lives on within a block of the Union Square subway...nice!

I scheduled an appointment at this store, through the Apple website, to repair my cracked iPhone screen. I scheduled the appoint a few days in advance and arrived 5 minutes early. Upon arrival, I was told they were not servicing any more phones for the day, despite my appointment, and I was dismissed. After complaining, the manager was called, but he declined to speak to me, and I was denied service againAnother strange thing to note. While discussing my appointment with the only person that was actually at the store, they pretended they didnt have my appointment in their system. This was clearly a lie because after I told her I was going to complain to Apple and leave negative feedback on social media, the Director of Retail Operations e-mailed me to try and smooth things over. They had my e-mail, they had my appointment, but for some reason, they just decided they were going to waste my time and deny me service after I arrived on timeIm not sure what this store is trying to accomplish, but servicing customers does not seem to be a top priority

I recently took my 11” MacBook Air to the store because the screen has been acting up for the past few weeks. The associate/technician was helpful and patient with my questions. I was pleasantly surprised to get my MacBook Air back faster than I expected. The problem was fixed, and my world is back to normal again. Thanks iStore! Definitely recommend to get your Mac serviced here!

Disappointed:Twice in a row I made an appointment through apple support only to get there and they “just” sold out of the part...first time was for a battery (on the last day of apple’s replacement promotion). The next time was for a cracked screen.

Please dont go to this place...its a scam. They will blamed your device when actually they cant technically fix the phone themselves. I dont even acknowledge one star for them if I have other choice to post this review. Apple user, please stay away from this store.

Meeting was shady overall. I scheduled an appointment via the Apple Support website to fix my cracked screen. When I arrived the associate told me that their machine was broken so i would get a replacement phone, but he had to attempt to use their machine anyway. I couldnt get a straight answer on why that was the case, then another associate came back and said they didnt have a replacement for my phone. I just left after that.

They first replaced my logic board, but leaving me with a mac partition problem that it freeze and crash in 3 mins. And then they repairs it again but leaving a windows partition problem this time. It was unable to boost. I had to eventually copy all my files to Mac OS by myself and redo the Bootcamp. Also, their order of parts come slow as that they said should come over night but actually took 4 days. A total of two weeks to get it done. Not satisfied.
