Take too long and the price
I Received excellent help from this company. Extremely professional. I had a serious accident by the grace of God i found Tow-Arrific. They took the time out to make sure my car as well as the other vehicle were fixed in a timely and cost effective manner ..GREAT PEOPLE. The Owner very friendly......
I called 311 and two local police precincts after my car went missing, assuming that it had been towed. After a day of mounting panic during which the database still hadnt updated to reflect my car being removed by the city, I finally reported it stolen. After a while one of the investigating officers spoke to a landlord that said hed had it towed for blocking part of his driveway. Fair enough - Id parked there in the middle of the night and hadnt noticed. He gave the name of the business and after apologizing to the police for wasting their time, headed over to this establishment to pick up my car, honestly relieved that it wasnt lost forever.Upon arriving I told the guy who I assume was the owner that there must have been some kind of breakdown in communication, as they were required to report it to the police and never did. He mumbled something about that being incorrect and I reinstated that Id driven around canvassing the neighborhood with two cops because no one could find any record of it being towed. He deflected again and then told me that it would be nearly $200 - cash only - because we cant have a paper trail for the IRS, now can we?I went to get the cash and returned. Upon bringing my car out he handed me a ticket that had been on my windshield prior to the tow date and insisted that it was proof that the police knew where the car was (Its all on record! he bleated). He must have assumed me to be as stupid as he and his tattoos were, as *the city* didnt have the car removed; a private landowner did. What the hell does a single two-day old ticket have to do with knowing where the car had gone? It doesnt contain a tracking device. If only theyd do their jobs, right? he said of the police (who were honestly extremely helpful), insinuating that they hadnt really investigated. A small, petulant POS that has the stomach for being a scumbag but not the spine to answer for his garbage.
I will never take my car here again, they have had my car for a month mind you the damages to my car wasnt crazy, everytime i call they keep saying nxt week, nxt week and that the parts they ordered just got there, it took them a month to put on a fender, bumper, and a headlight, last time i called they told me the same that they just got some parts and that everything is painted and on the car that they have to start mechanical work on it, so they had my car for a month and havent started any mechanical work on it doesnt make sense, I wouldn’t suggest this place to anyone !!!
Had our car towed here because the front suspension was damaged. Jennifer at the front desk seemed very competent and promised we would have our car back no longer than a week. It’s been 14 days now. Every time we call, she picks up and quickly hangs up on us!! I’m so outraged! I’m filing a report to the Bette Business Bureau. Outraged.
Tow company had me wait for 4 hours or more. I had to call State Farm to confirm the local of the toll truck. The tow rep on the phone gave me a director number to call the person who will attend to my services. I was told on the 4th of July the toll company will tolled my car to there location to fix my car. Thank youI believe all toll companies are not bad but we have to remember we are not the only person seeking service in the local area. With that said have a heart, wait dont be fast to rate a business and post something negative because your car wasnt tolled in the time frame that was given to you.
I drop off my vehicle for repairs for four things; small scratches around the vehicle, a tiny hole in the front of the bumper, the cover underneath the car was loose no bolts installed(suppose to have four bolts holding the cover) and my engine was making small noises...About $2,000 given to them with my insurance help and I had to wait for almost two month to get my vehicle. To only receive my car with my engine making a louder sound, my cover underneath only had two out of four bolts installed, thank you*sarcasm* for fixing the tiny hole and removing few of the bunch of scratches...Now I have to find another shop to drop it off and fix my engine and my cover underneath my vehicles in my own pocket. And come on, two accidents reports to my insurance, very sloppy paperwork and communication between my insurance and this workshop.Plus I never sign a paper for them to move my vehicle and I have a built in GPS and I caught a driver going for a joyride in my car, took an Uber to confront him and I involved police officers, the joyrider weasel his way out getting arrested with the help of his Co workers and the police was very supportive and very informative. The joyrider was a worker from the shop and had his boss covered him. His boss was also unprofessional getting mad over the phone getting loud saying I sign papers that they can move it and I said first of all I saw my car being driven around on my GPS and I sign no paper with permission to move it he started flipping getting all legal aid on me lol all I thought you guys obviously afraid to get legal trouble by me.. I hung up and spoke with the good calm nice police officer, I eventually got my car with their advice and never again will I go here, its businessmen like these greedy bad man that ruins it for all local businesses.Very unsatisfied with taking my vehicles here.
Although I had nearly half tank of gas when towed, when I finely picked up my car it was on empty, just glad there was a gas station three blocks away. Additionally, to have charged my insurance company $16,000 you would think that they would have change the tire that clearly had a lump in it due to the accident, and to top it off, a brand new pair of tactical glasses were stolen. If you going to pad the insurance company at least do the work that needs to be done.
I called these guys when my Charger broke down in NYC. My driver Caesar showed up and took great care of my car. We rode to the dealership and I was more than happy with his driving and care of my car. I dont want to break down again in NYC, but if I do, I have his number saved. Thanks again.
This place should be called Tow Horrific ! I placed a service call at 6pm. Estimated wait time was 120 minutes. They didn’t show up or pick up the phone all night long. At 3 in the morning road side assistance finally got a hold of them and they said they picked up the car and then dumped it on the other side of the street. Left my car dumped on the road wide open with the keys in it in the South Bronx. Way to get the job done guys.
TOW-ARRIFIC ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS WHO HOLD CARS HOSTAGE. THEY DO NOT DESERVE A REVIEW. THEIR REVIEW IS NEGATIVE. BELOW PAR. I HOPE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS AND THE OWNER GOES BANKRUPT. CUSTOMERS SHOULD NEVER BE TREATED THE WAY THEY TREAT PEOPLE.BY THE WAY... ALL THOSE REVIEW OF 2 STARS OR BETTER ARE FRIEND REVIEWS TRYING TO MAKE THE COMPANY LOOK GOOD. THESE GUYS ARE HORRIBLE AND I HOPE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS.
They do great work, theyre honest and their prices are good.
Completely unacceptable. As someone who works in the industry, and has used dozens of tow companies over the year, bad faith operators like this are why tow companies have a bad rap.Waited an hour patiently, called the driver and was told another hour fifteen. Not great, but I told him no problem, things happen. Two hours and fifteen minutes after my initial call, no response to my phone calls.Avoid if you can.
Use at your own risk. Incompetent and unreliable and very rude. Lied to Road Side Assistance and claimed they were present at the address and left after failed attempts of contact after speaking with me 10 mins earlier to say they were running behind by almost an hour.
If you are looking for a auto body shop that has very poor communication and takes forever to fix your car than come here. The adjuster estimate was 13 days, 3 weeks later still dont have my car. I was so upset at one point I wanted to have my car towed from the shop and sent somewhere else. very frustrating experience but hey you live and you learn. Will never us them again
Horrible Horrible Customer Service!!! Do Not let them talk u into purchasing a AAS Battery from them... As they AAA driver did ME! They’re Very Poor quality! Tow Arrific is Tow ATERRABLE! I eventually had to go to AutoZone(where I should’ve gone 1st) repurchased a battery for my vehicle for way less💴way better warranty! Mind U this all took place in less than 4 weeks of purchasing the car battery from “the So Called Tow ArrificBUYERS BEWARE!!!
On Wednesday December 27, 2017 my partner and I got into a car accident on the Long Island Expressway around 9:15AM. We crashed into the back of a van because a jeep short stopped two cars infront of us. I was stuck in the front seat and I was having a panic attack. My boyfriend was outside of the vehicle attempting to figure out the damages and assessing the situation. Out of nowhere a tow truck came inquiring about what had happened. His name was Abe and he appeared to be genuine and concerned about our situation. This was shortly after I had called 911 therefore I was not aware that this tow truck was not sent by NYPD dispatcher. Abe hooked our vehicle that was completely banged up in the front and told us to get inside the tow truck. As he pulled off he told us that he was not going to take the car to Queens that instead he was going to take us to his shop over on 125th street because he wanted to make sure we receive d the best help. He told us that he felt bad and that in order to help us he was going to make sure we were not charged a towing fee and that the $1000 deductible that our insurance would charge us he would make sure we did not have to pay them and we can use that money towards getting a rental since our policy did not have insurance reimbursement. As my boyfriend was trying to deal with me having an anxiety attack and trying to get family on the phone Abe had my boyfriend sign his name on the documents but explained that it was simply recognizing that he was allowing this tow company to take our car to the shop. Little did we know that we were signing up to be scammed. Our car was towed to Tow Arrific located on 334 E. 126th Street. I sent my insurance company pictures of the car and they decided to total our car and at that point we gave them the information of where the car was located and the insurance company agreed to get the car from them the following day, At that same day around 10:00pm a man by the name of Dominic called my cellphone asking for my boyfriend who at the time was at work. I told him that he was unavailable and he proceeded to tell me that what our insurance company was doing was illegal. That they could not total out a car over pictures and that the car was repairable. He stated that I should look up regulation 64 (which had nothing to do with what he was reffering too) and inquire that we were being scammed by progressive. He state that my car had not gone over the 70% threshold and that it was only sitting at an estimate of $8400 of repairs. I told him that I would speak to my boyfriend and get back to them in the morning. In the morning I received another call from the manager named Joe stating that I should call progressive on threeway and give them authorization to let the body shop inspect the car, I stated AGAIN that I will return the call once I spoke to my boyfriend. At that time we had decided to release the car to progressive and my adjuster and I called back and spoke to Joe. At that time Joe stated in a very disturbing tone of voice that he would get back to us about the charges and would return our call. Our adjuster stated that he was already made aware of the charges the day before by their receptionist at which the Joe stated that he “had not done the charges himself and now it was a new amount”. Our adjuster and I called Dominic the “owner” in order to assure that we wouldn’t not be over charged. Dominic stated that he did not know who I was and that how could he be so sure that I was the owner of the car and that I was being a fool and that the only way he would release the car was if my boyfriend went down to the shop himself and signed a release form.
I was towed from Manhattan to Massachusetts today and my driver was excellent!
Awful place to have your car taken to! they overestimate the time it takes to work on your car.
Heard about your company on Kelly this morning - Tow Arrific I guess even negative publicity is better than none. Try Compassion in your communications with your customers -
Avoid at all costs. Do yourself a favor and Look somewhere else if you need your car fixed.
Most rip off company ever seen. Do not use for towing. I assume the car repair business is as rip off as towing, should be going out of business because its ran by bunch of thieves. Terrible!!!
