These guys are EXPERTS of repairing ANY vintage (and new) audio stereo or AV equipment. They also give SUGGESTIONS on how to preserve your equipment after repairs. Their staff are very knowledgeable and humble. Best time to bring your equipment for repair and pick up should be Saturdays between 10am-11:30am because of available public parking.Im very satisfied wanting to be their BEST customer!
I should have written this review a couple of years ago but I hope better late than never. They changed the voltage on my McIntosh Integrated bought overseas to work in the US. Only negative in the whole experience was having to argue with the security lady downstairs to let me use the elevator to take it up to the right floor the store is located on. Go prepared to haul the hefty amp yourself. No door step service unfortunately and finding a parking spot in the alley is not easy. Other than that, once you manage to get the equipment to them, rest assured it will be in good hands.
Lets talk about the good, the quality of the work is second to none. I had an old tape machine restored to manufacturer specs, with electricians not always knowing how to treat each Brand, I was really happy to know that their Tech is certified by many top brands. His work was clean, professional, and by the book. You will wait however. It took almost two months and I had to stay a little on top of the owner, but got something well worth the wait. If you want it done right and can spare some time, go with ASL.
The team at Analogique was super professional and knowledgeable when it came to a thorough repair of my MC 2105 power amp. The price was fair and the work took 1 month. It was definitely worth the wait and they were there by the phone whenever I had a question or concern. The amp is 75 pounds and they had a dolly ready to come curbside and help bring it up and down. NYC is lucky to have such great experts in vintage gear. I will be back in the future and happy to recommend their work!
These guys fixed a pair of old Advent speakers and my automatic 70s Yamaha turntable. The turntable had a couple issues during warranty and they took it back and repaired it. I thought I was gonna have to trash the record player and they brought it back to mint operating condition and the speakers sound amazing. Fantastic service we are lucky to have them here.
I recommend this place to everyone. My uncle has been using them and now I. You will need patience. Payments are cash, check, or money orders. The vintage audio equipment is making a come back. These guys are one of two shops that repair. They do not lie, very honest, and strict with how they do business no short cuts or cutting the line (patience!) They explain everything that needs to be done to your unit.
Polite and knowledgeable service that comes with a high price point.
I Highly Recommend this shop! The quality of service is excellent. They do their very best to help anyone who comes in and are very passionate about what they do. I cant recommend them enough.
Took my McIntosh stereo for repair since they are an authorized service center for them. They did a beautiful job it. It did take a while, but no biggie for me. I also had my 4 track Tascam repaired, they are pricey but very knowledgeable with old equipment.I recommend my friends and family to them all the time.Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!
It is a gem there is only one other shop.Expensive-YESQuality of work- AMAZINGJust like cars- the older units you place a brand new PCBOARD and another part gets wonky not everyone knows that but they have a warranty of 90 days after you pick up your unit.Unfortunately, there is a wait time for your unit to get repaired/get any workSadly today I saw a new customer come in and try to tell the business owner to place his unit in front of everyone else’s without wanting to pay a rush fee. New Yorkers are so rude.Glad the owner denied business with that awful wanna-be entitled human.
A step back in time. The New York I came to know and love when in college and graduate school in the late 60s and early 70s.Instant response to my initial email. Had to call to get my estimate as they had not sent it, but I expected that (see above). Quick service. Perfect repair. Reasonable price. And charming besides; what more could one ask?Ill use them again!
I couldnt be more satisfied with the professionalism and courtesy exhibited by Analogique when they repaired my high-end Arcam amplifier. Not only did owner Ernesto tend to me personally in several phone calls, but he even did a second repair without charge when a new issue arose. The prices are competitive and the results are first-rate. Highly, confidently recommended.
If you want to repair cheap electronics this is the wrong place! If you want the best and finest repair of quality vintage Hi fi stereo you want to be at Analogique they give 1st class repairs. Slow but super honest and reliable.
These guys are old timers who know old time equipment! They were there in the seventies repairing state of the art equipment which is now vintage!... and theyre STILL repairing it. They have a true grasp and appreciation of ANALOG. In todays digital age, give me someone who was there at the Time my analog equipment was built and knows it inside out.... not some wiz kids a few years out of college who dont know about rotary phones, phone booths and b+w TV.... ANALOG!Aside from their expertise... They talk to you... answering your questions at drop off and you can speak (in person or by phone) to the guy who actually (will repair or repaired) your equipment! Of course you must realize.... Analog equipment is no longer manufactured (at least not on any large scale) old companies have merged/ gone out of business and thus Parts are very hard to find... if they still exist. So the nature of your analog problem could be a problem thats unresolvable.... But if theres a way to work around it.... This is the place that will be able to do it!!!On Saturdays the commercial street signs are off and street parking is plentiful.... early in the morning.... by 10am is a safe bet although Ive found parking at noon in the area. You can see the building number 27 as you drive by.... but theres always construction somewhere.... This is New York!
These guys are great! Super knowledgeable, and were able to restore my 75 year old record player to working order in less than a week. Highly recommend.
Brought my Nakamichi 680 for a repair and it came back better than ever. The mechanism now operates very smoothly and the sound has definitely improved. Overall time in shop was about 2 weeks, just like they said. Dont hesitate to follow up with them, communication isnt their forte. I plan to use them for future repairs on other decks as well.
This shop provides the absolute worst customer experience imaginable.Anyplace else would have to be better. They require a $75 cash payment to look at your equipment, promise an estimate in about a week but take much longer to actually give you their estimate. And now having read reviews all over the web it is pretty clear that you will be quoted something outrageous. In the 80s this was the place to bring your audiophile equipment for repair. That is no longer the case. Avoid this shop at all costs.
Professionals, knowledgeable, kind, and fairly priced.
I had an excellent experience with Analogique. Ernesto, Claudia, and their other technicians, were capable, professional, and did an outstanding and thorough job in repairing a very complex two box all tube preamplifier. I can give Analogique Service Labs the highest recommendation. If you need a repair for your high end stereo electronics, Analogique is the place to go.
One-of-a-kind audio electronic repair shop for new and vintage components with special expertise in high-end equipment such as McIntosh and Marantz. Ask for Ernesto.
I got a ticket because its such an inconvinience to get there, no meter parking available either & they are on a 4th floor. Never received a call letting me know merchandise was done, i got tired of waiting after almost 1 month. When i went to pickup there closing time states 6pm i got there at 5:35pm rushing from work & i know someone was there they just didnt feel like attending any more clients, they never opened. Its a very bad business to deal with!!!
Excellent service, they did a repair on my Tangerg amplifier and it is working perfectly
They took in my Fathers 1976 Sherwood stereo receiver, and gave me back something that sounds even better than I remember as a kid. Amazing.
They were fast and I thought efficient in fixing my cassette deck, but then it didnt work again after a day and they were non-responsive to repairing it correctly at their cost.
50 year old stuff requires a special mindset parts are not always available you run into new failed parts as you proceed they are ok are fair and are honest you can fix the transformer but a month later a tube can fail very few audiophile customers understand the nature of old equipment caps have a shelf life overall ok shop a tad pricey but worthwhile
I took 2 different NAD 3020 integrated amplifiers for service and Analogique did a fantastic job with them. I highly recommend this repair shop.
Brought my new Denon Receiver that intermittently had no sound from one channel. Was told it was not repairable because they could not get sound-board,yet charged service charge. Upon research, found out this is NOT the original Analogique that I had dealt with for several years prior - and that service has deteriorated commensurately.
Personal, honest service
Great service.
The best electronic repair in New York City.
