What a WONDERFUL experience was living here! This is an amazing group of professional and friendly people. Its the best renting experience Ive had in my life and I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to live in one of the best neighborhoods of NYC.

Carlos is the MAN! He is always so nice and friendly whenever he comes by to do any necessary apartment maintenance (everyone is awesome, he just tends to be our guy when we put in requests). We have been with Avalon Bay communities for over 7 years now and wouldnt consider living elsewhere anytime soon. Everyone that works here is so friendly, it makes us feel at home.

I moved to Avalon West Chelsea in October and have had such a great experience. Ive gotten to know everyone at the first desk, from Darrell to Joseph, Hector, Gerald and Kool. Its so nice to be greeted with a friendly face every day-- especially with yummy treats for my dog! Always well maintained and any service request Ive put in has been handled within less than 24 hours.

Avalon is an incredibly prestigious apartment building that anyone would be honored to live in. The staff are incredibly friendly, personable, and willing to go above and beyond for any resident. The public areas / amenities spaces are very well kept, and the entire building feels luxurious and professional. Incredible views are a bonus that the Avalon has to offer.The real dealbreaker for me however has been the friendships that have been developed with various concierges throughout my time here. Gerald, Joseph, and Derrell in particular have always been incredible friendly and able to assist with any issue or concern I have had. It is people like them that truly bring the quality of life at the Avalon from good to excellent.5/5 stars, would give 6/5 if it was possible.

This is the best place to live! The light in my apartment is amazing, the building is always clean and the lobby has this really nice hotel scent that i love! Being walking distance to the Hudson river and its actually quiet so you can get a good nights rest and not worry about sirens and loud crazy neighbors! Speaking of neighbors, everyone is so friendly in the building. My not-so-little Husky has made the best of friends with so many of the other tenants. If youre a dog lover or owner - this is your place!The Concierge team is hands-down the best group of guys! Darrell is always so sweet and has saved me in my many damsel in distress moments - from bringing up heavy packages right up to my apartment, helping me get my package from the top compartment of the amazon locker to name a few. Joe always has treats ready for my Daisy (the Husky) and she loves stealing a belly rub from him and Kool (Daisy only likes good people)!The rental application process was really smooth. Madison took care of everything and is always a friendly voice over the phone. I appreciated how diligent they were in ensuring my move from San Francisco to NYC was in the middle of this pandemic! Ive lived in an Avalon building and I knew I was going to get great service! So glad I found this place!

Gerald is the best doorman Ive ever had! Ive never felt so at home and appreciated. The service is immaculate and i feel so safe living in this building. I love it and will never forget my experience living in the Avalon West Chelsea, especially due to Gerald!

I lived in the Avalon West Chelsea for 3 years. It was truly one of the best apartment buildings I have ever lived in and I have lived in London, SF, Chicago, Paris, and Berlin. The building management is very flexible based on your particular circumstances, and the concierge staff is extra special. They made my daughter and I feel like family. We moved to the West Coast and my now 4 year old daughter still asks about the staff members. They are wonderful people.

I moved to Avalon West Chelsea almost a month ago and my experience thus far has been great. I especially have to say thanks to Gerald and Hector as they have both gone out of their way to help me move in - thanks to the entire staff!

I’d like to take the time out to acknowledge Joseph at the front desk. On the daily bases it’s been warm consistent welcoming experiences from Joseph. Always smiles and gets up for people who may need a hand or any assistance. One day I wasn’t at home an my mother showed up assuming I was home, when I wasn’t. He was more than willing to help my mother track an Uber taxi down after I requested their services as well as get inside the taxi all set to go and even called me right back once they were in their way. I just want to say thank you and give some appreciation and express how grateful I am to have joseph at the AVA.

Ive been living here for two years, and the buildings been amazing great amenities and not to mention the doormen staff, especially Gerald makes me feel just at home always welcoming always remembers me.

Carole and I have lived here for 2 years and just signed up for two more. Everyone, from the front desk team to maintenance and housekeeping has been outstanding. We have never rented anywhere that has provided the support we get at AWC. Hector, Darryl, Gerald, Kool, William, Pablo, Roberto, Jameson, Gio and Daniel are all great ambassadors of the Avalon brand.

Wow so happy we found Avalon West Chelsea. From the moment we met Suzanne we knew the place was right for us. She was helpful caring personal and professional.Moving in was a breeze with the service entrance and freight elevators. But William our concierge made our day even easier. In fact each time we see William he is more than helpful gracious and professional. Joseph to another concierge we met has been awesome as well. Both help with packages deliveries and are truly attentive to anything we need in our apartment. I recommend Avalon W. Chelsea Highly.

The apartments are nice, but the staff is really where Avalon West Chelsea shines. The concierge team (Joseph, Darrell, Gerald, and Kool) is uniformly stellar, and the maintenance and custodial teams are always friendly, helpful, and effective. They’ve always gone above and beyond, whether going the extra mile in tracking down a package that UPS lost (Darrell) or coordinating the delivery and return of an at-home COVID test kit so that we didn’t have to leave our apartment (Joseph). Highly recommended.

Great experience overall - Ive called several maintenance requests and have always gotten them answered quickly and the problems fixed fast. Cam on the staff is just awesome, happy to help whenever and does a great job!

We lived at Avalon West Chelsea for two years and had a wonderful experience. We only moved because we needed more space for the kids. Fantastic location and great neighborhood. Beautiful views of the river and the empire state building. But what made it such a great place was the entire staff. Cant say enough about the concierge, maintenance and cleaning crew! It doesnt get better then this! Professionalism is exemplary at Avalon West Chelsea. The entire staff makes the tenants feel Special with their attentive genuine concerns and friendliness. As a New York native, I can honestly state that in my 60 years on earth I have not witnessed a place that really feels like home, particularly in Manhattan. Its hard not to view everyone as a personal friend seeing the day to day operations appear seamless and natural. One would be hard pressed to find a highly committed staff such as this one anywhere in NYC. The units are nicely configured with unusual spaces and windows offering great views. I am proud to call Avalon West Chelsea my home. PS - The 8th floor Roof Deck is incredible!

I can’t say enough great things about the staff. The leasing office is great at accommodating to your needs, and always has a quick response. Maintenance always comes within 24h. The best part of it all is the doorman staff. Gerald, Darrell, Kool, Joseph, and William are extremely friendly and will go above and beyond for you! I love everything about the building, expect the walls aren’t the most sound proof but it’s not terrible.

We lived at Avalon West Chelsea for over a year and a half. We only moved because we needed to be closer to our son’s school. We loved every minute of our time living here. We’ve moved almost once a year for ten years and this was the best building and best staff of all of them. The apartment was wonderful. Everything worked the way it was supposed to—not to be taken for granted in New York! And the maintenance staff was so responsive. We never had a problem. But most importantly I can’t overstate how wonderful the front desk staff is. They treated us like family. Greeting us warmly everyday. And chatting with my five year old always making him feel like they had all the time in the world for him even while they juggled other residents and their duties. We miss all of you very much : Joseph, Gerald, Will, Hector, Kool, Darrell and Gio. Thank you for everything.

I have been an Avalon West Chelsian for over 5 years now! I have had the best experience dealing with the leasing office and concierge staff. William, Darrell, Kool, Joseph and Gerald are the BEST!!! They always have a friendly greeting or ‘Welcome Home’ for me and my son. I don’t know how they do it, but they remember everyone’s name and apartment number! A great residential building with responsible staffs and it is always feel like home because people communicate each other. The cleaning staff Gino she is an amazing and she always at lobby in the morning and say good morning to everyone and I love her smile and the concierges are great and friendly, Gerald always say hi to us and remind us our package even we forgot about it and he has great memory about our daily story and Kool is one of concierge who always doing late night shift and I think no one can do that but he can and Darrel is awesome that I like to chat with him. They are the best team !

I have lived at Avalon for 2 1/2 years now. Have absolutely loved the staff, location, and atmosphere of the building . Particularly the doorman. I was so blown out of the water by one particular experience I could not, not write about it.The doorman of my apartment building, Avalon West Chelsea : Gerald Die has always gone well out of his way for me. Not only making me feel grateful and happy to be home after a long day of work but always has the happiest of smiles, every single time - welcoming me home. There has never been a time where I haven’t seen him smiling.A highlight instance that he really showed me the time of genuine honest reliable (not only doorman ) but human being he was, was when I lost my iPhone in the middle of the night, my bag and phone was stolen and I had no one to contact without a phone at 1 am. I finally made it back to the apartment Gerald not only calmed me down and made me feel safe he proceeded to stay with me, allowing me to track find my iPhone on the apartments computers and wait for my father to come and help me track it down. I had been traveling abroad for some time and this all transpired as I was just moving back to New York fully. I was nervous what the transition would be like - but that entire experience In that moment I could not have felt anymore like this is home.I am so grateful, thank you so much to the Avalon team for hiring such great genuine people I am blessed to see everyday . I have lived in Avalon West Chelsea for almost a year now. Love the people working here, wonderful door service, cleaning, leasing as well as people living here- highly diverse group, many of them have pets. Nice neighborhood too- next to Hudson Yards and galleries in Chelsea. I very much enjoy BBQs on community 8th floor as well as unobstructed river and sunset views. Great place to call it home.

I absolutely loved my time at the Avalon West Chelsea. Our apartment was spacious and had in unit appliances. If there was ever an issue, the maintenance team would come service it pretty quickly. The shining beacon of light of my whole living experience here was the staff. Darrell, Gerald & William seriously were THE BEST. I can’t recall the amount of times their greetings and interactions completely turned my day around, but suffice to say they have made huge a positive impact on my living experience here. The janitorial staff also were so pleasant and helpful - in particular the woman usually cleaning the lobby in the morning always greets me with a huge smile!! Avalon, you’re doing something right in terms of hiring some amazing staff members.The main reason why we left was because we could not justify the rent increase. One other thing I started noticing in the last couple of months we lived here were the residents getting more inconsiderate as I saw dog waste in the carpeted hallway, chair thrown through the window in the roof top lounge, and rambunctious neighbors frequently arguing loudly in the middle of the night. Obviously, this is not a reflection of the Avalon itself, but it did contribute to our decision to move. Overall, Avalon took really good care of us when we lived here, namely the amazing staff members, and I’d definitely recommend!

I stayed there with my wife during a renovation of our condo in Manhattan and we were pleasantly surprised on how well this place conducts business. The office staff are very professional and polite. The concierge during all shifts are very welcoming when you enter the lobby each day. The building is very clean!!!! Its a non smoking building which makes the building even better.

I love here! I moved in last March 2017. The staff is what makes this place amazing. Courtney, Gerald, Daryl, Kool and William are the BEST. The facilities staff is great and this is one of the best rooftops in the city in my option. Uninstructed view of the Hudson. The building also huts have great energy. That is what really sold me on choosing to live here.

My wife and I spent 1 year at Avalon West Chelsea. We felt at home since the very first day. Everything in the building is as it should be in a rental building. Great apartments furnished with top class home appliances, fantastic lounge and terrace, no noise, gym, and, most of all, amazing people. The guys at the door are just amazing, Gerald, Derril, and all the others have always been ready to help with kindness and professionality.

I cannot recommend living at Avalon highly enough. I have lived here for over 2 years and I absolutely love it. From the moment you walk through the front door, you are made to feel very much at home. The concierge team are amazing, they all work extremely hard and I am most grateful to all of them. Special mention for Gerald, Darrel and Kool. Gerald is the friendliest person on earth and always has a very warm welcome home for everyone walking through the door, I am amazed that he remembers when there is a package for me (there are a lot of people living in the building, this is impressive). He is really kind and could not be more helpful, I love our chit chats. Darrel is great too, he helped me a lot when i moved in, especially with some of my deliveries that were heavier than i expected them to be. Darrel makes time for a conversation, as well as Kool, who is usually on the desk at unsociable hours (and these conversations are sometimes not the most sensible on my part). Thank-you to the whole team, everyone I have ever dealt with at Avalon have been really friendly and inviting.

Ive been living at AWC for a little over a month now and I already never want to leave. The staff is incredible (shoutout to Madison who is a DELIGHT!) and always makes you feel at home the second you walk in the door. Great amenities, great location, great vibe.

I just recently left the building after a year but I can confirm the other reviews. The building is nice and well maintained in a convenient area, its the folks at the front who make all the difference though. Darrell is one of the most genuinely nice people Ive had the opportunity to be around, and Gerald went far above and beyond out of his way to help with our move-out process (which the building in general was excellent with).Top marks to William and the rest of the crew as well - its remarkable the difference they all make in a living experience. Theres a reason why this building has top ratings and I hope these guys are well compensated! Id gladly pay a little more rent to get them over to my new building.

I started looking in the area for apartments since I often use the LIRR at Penn Station and wanted to be in walking distance. I visited a couple other buildings before this one and due to my young age (19) and living alone, I wasnt taken seriously and rarely got responses from the leasing office at other buildings. Immediately when touring this building, I was welcomed by the doorman and the leasing office and they walked me through all the different floor plans and options as well as how to apply online for an apartment. Within two weeks I was able to move in to my new home and love it! Darrel at the front desk is awesome as well as all the other doormen. Its a safe neighborhood and within walking distance from mostly everything I need. Thanks to everyone working here for making my first apartment renting experience easy and great :)

Besides the great views and amenities, it is the staff and the people in the building that truly make it what it is. The concierge staff, in particular, are incredibly friendly, helpful,, and always make me feel at home. Gerald Die is a true star in this regard - he always manages to put a smile on my face after a long day and is always willing to go the extra mile to help out. Darrell and Nukool are also tremendously friendly and helpful - these three have helped create a special community.

I recently moved into Avalon and had heard wonderful things about the buildings based on its presence in the DMV area. Little did I know, I would be welcome by extremely helpful and kind people into the community. William at the front desk in particular is someone that was immensely helpful during my move. Having lost something in a box that was thrown away, William made sure that Id get that missing item with dedication and conviction. Him and others who help run the community are detail oriented and respond well to service requests. Even through Ive had limited interactions as a new resident, Im happy to say that theyve all been very pleasant.

I have been living here for 5 years!! This building is highly well managed with upscale standard, everyone at the concierge front desk, they are the best of the best! Especially, Gerald and Darrell who are my favorites. They welcome my family amd me, wholeheartedly. Their service is excellent for sure. I have lived in few a highrise apartments in NYC for 14 years, and this is the place I felt great and I have never seriously found any thing that was below my expectations. I could not imagine a more attentive, courteous and competent staff maintained at any other multifamily building, be it rental, co-op or condo.William, Darrell, Rabel and Tremaine perform wonderfully as concierges, greeting, screening and assisting all, residents and visitors alike.In terms of maintenance, Pablo and Noel have responded quickly and fixed things effortlessly. And, Sarah at the office has been cheerful and helpful.It all speaks well of the behind-the-scenes managers and supervisors who are able to set and maintain the helpful community culture at Avalon West Chelsea.Visiting friends regularly comment to me about how nice the staff is.I couldnt be more happy here!--Michael

Hi, Im the nanny for a resident in the building. William from the concierge staff always makes me feel welcomed. Whenever I need assistance hes always there to lend a helping hand or give advice. He does an excellent job providing customer service. Just wanted to mention him, and say keep up the great work!

Awesome place to live, great neighborhood! Exceptional service from the doormen (Darrell, Gerald, William and Hector) they’re super nice and always ready to greet you, definitely feel right at home as soon as I go through those revolving doors. Maintenance is awesome as well, Gio always greets me every morning on my way out to work, very sweet lady. Roberto is very quick and efficient when we need something fixed in our apartment. It’s workers like the ones I mentioned that makes living in Avalon west chelsea extra special. Would definitely recommend living here to friends and family.

I was doing some apartment hunting, and entered West Chelsea. As I entered I was greeted by William, and he actually was very polite & knowledgeable of the community and neighborhood. He gave me information about the units, pricing, suggestions on the nearest places to eat plus shop, and he even knew the square footage & where the views faced. I was beyond impressed with him helping me without an agents input. Just wanted to commend him because thats the level of service that will get you new residents, and keep them!

Beautiful building with the best concierge team and a great overall environment. Sarah and community team are super helpful whenever we have any questions about the building or the neighborhood and the repair staff are the quickest I have ever experienced. My wife and I definitely love living here.

Mr. Robert Sanders has been my Sales and Service Supervisor for the past 2 years. He has shown and empathy for my needs and cooperation in times of duress that goes beyond his job title. Not only does he show a professionalism but a true good nature and understanding of tenants problems. If he wasnt working for Avalon, I would hire him to work for me!

I had 3 leaks all at once in my apartment some time ago that was due to an issue from a few floors above mine. The maintenance team was quick to respond and was able to fix everything in a speedy time frame. Because of the work that had to be done, my apartment had dust everywhere, but I didn’t have to worry about it because the building sent a cleaning crew to take care of everything. Thank you to William Ivaska, Roberto, Jose & Aarta :) Aside from that Courtney in the office has always been amazing to interact and work with. A truly great building to call home.

It’s been 8 months living in the Avalon west apt. Leasing office & front desk service are amazing and super friendly. HOWEVER! That’s all it!!!The quality of my neighbors are super ignorant/loud and not professional. I’ve been dealing with weed smell coming to my room from the next door. I don’t smell the weed anymore from my room (after 6months of long fighting) but still smell from the hallway and the elevator (I don’t care at this point but will not recommend if you have kids )All the walls and callings are super thin. I’m dealing with super loud music day/night from my next door. I’ve reported many many time to the leasing office and even reported to police but still dealing with the loud music everyday.I can hear EVERYTHING!! I can hear when upstairs people having sex or Kids are running around and screaming starting 7am. Can’t relax at home at all.Tips, don’t live in the 8th floor where connected to the AVA building!!!

Very positive experience living at AWC. Easy leasing, move-in, and move-out process - Sarah Frey was especially helpful. Quiet neighborhood, proximity to the High Line, and good amenities. Friendly and accommodating service from the entire staff.

Stayed in this building for 2+ years now. Friendly reception staff, reliable maintenance personnel, quality built apartments, and a super helpful team in the leasing office. Ask for Sarah or Susanne when looking to lease, they are the best!

Been living at Avalon West Chelsea since 2014 and couldnt be more happier with my place of residence. Would definitely recommend living here. Hope this review helps anyone out there considering.

I have been a resident at The Avalon West Chelsea for 3 years now and couldnt be happier. The community is amazing, management handles everything transparently and are always willing to help at any time, with any issue. I would like to mention Sarah Frey, as she is the leasing agent I contact for anything regarding the building or my apartment. She responds promptly to any calls or emails and is always willing to get out of her way to help. Our doormen Darrell, William, and Herberto are the nicest and coolest people, always greeting you with a smile on their face and making yourself feel at home from the moment you walk into the building. If youre looking for an apartment in Chelsea I recommend you to look no further and give Sarah Frey a call, she will be there to assist you and answer any questions.

Recently moved into the building and loving it!

I recently moved out of the Avalon West Chelsea after more than two years. Aside from the great building and amenities, I wanted to specifically point out that my time there was made amazing by the concierge team led by William and Darrell and by the maintenance staff. I would see William every morning before I left and Darrell every night when I came home. They were both courteous, professional and would always take the time to chat and joke around. They would handle any of my requests promptly, even if it required extra time and effort. I believe they were part of the reason the Avalon felt like home. The maintenance staff made life very easy whenever there was something that needed to be fixed in our apartment. We would submit requests all the time, even for the smallest things, and no matter the complexity or simplicity it was done without issue, within 24 hours, without any exceptions. I will miss the entire team there.

Update: The LOUD and constant construction noise across the street has made working at home almost unbearable, & the rents keep going up. Love the people in the building, but it’s no longer worth the ever-increasing price, especially with few amenities & the current financial crisis in the city.——We moved in just a month or so ago and just love it. The people who work and live here are amazing. Darrell Donalds has been great to us since the moment we first walked through the door. He showed us our apartment, and hes helped me when I needed urgent care, and hes given us all sorts of information that we needed as new residents of the city. Thanks so much for all everyone does here!!
