I have done Karate and other martial arts for 5+ years, but Sensei Vladimir is undoubtedly the most experienced, talented and professional teacher I have ever met. He puts great effort and enthusiasm into his lessons and can teach a wide range of students. My Father even decided to join after watching me.

I have been training with the Sensei for over 10 years and couldnt imagine training with anyone else. He has perfected the balance of being friendly and serious. I highly recommend him.

Love this karate class!! It has started teaching out kids discipline and structure. They follow all them moves and warm ups. Its great exercise and teaches coordination. My kids are 4 and 5...they come home and repeat the moves while saying the Japanese phrases. Sometimes if they are in a bad mood, I remind them about karate and they start jumping up and down saying the phrases while doing the moves.They also get belts and stripes as they progress, which motivates them to come back and do more classes. My favorite part is when they do the moves with the partners. Our 4 year old girl get partnered up with a kid her size usually and our 5 year olsld son with someone his size. We do a ton of fun activities for our kids...including yoga, dance, soccer. This is one of our kids favorite.

This place is absolutely amazing. I have been bringing kids here for three years now. Beside learning karate, kids also learn the discipline, respect and hard work. Sensei Vladimir is a very professional in what he does and also very good with kids. They offer classes for both, kids and adults. I would recommend this place to anyone who would like to learn Martial Arts or just get in the better shape.

True ChampionZ has a 5 star rating only because there is no option for a 6 star rating. Sensei Vladimir is as talented a teacher as he is a disciplined world class competitor He has the perfect balance of demanding educator as he does supportive observer. My kids are naturally opposed to discipline, but he brings out the drive and desire to achieve, every class. We are lucky to have him, and in such an accessible spot!

We have been part of the True ChampoinZ family since our son was 3 years old. He is now 7. We started with Karate and now have our son in the Krav Maga classes. I have to say, I am a parent that does a lot of research on the activities we choose to put our children in and feel we truly have found a place that truly cares for the children they are teaching. Sensei Vladimir is fantastic with kids - he teaches them to be resilient, strong, independent and shows them how to have fun as well. My son is equipped with life long lessons every day as well as tangible skills he can use when needed. This past summer while my son was in summer camp, he was able to use his krav maga skills to protect himself. There was another child that was bothering him and then began to kick him. My son instantly used the skills he was taught by Sensei Vladimir and pinned the boy down to the ground until an adult camp counselor came to the rescue. Considering the world we currently live in, we believe its really important to equip our kids with the necessary skills and tools to protect themselves in any given situation when we are not around. We come all the way from Dobbs Ferry to New Rochelle, so that should already tell you a lot! Thank you Sensei Vladimir for how hard you work with our kids!

Our son looks forward to his classes at True Championz. The respect and admiration he has for Sensei is awesome to see. Benny is learning more than karate - he is learning confidence and discipline as well.Separately, we hosted Benny’s birthday at the dojo. 25 kids and somehow Sensei was able to demand the attention of every single kid. They all had a blast, ending with a samurai sword cutting of the cake. Great time by all!

I have trained Martial Arts for over 30 years and I have known and trained alongside Sensei Vlad for 13 years. I have met many great Martial Artists, and many great teachers of Martial Arts. Sensei Vlad is the rare breed of being both. Many instructors will just gladly take your money and simply give you belts, which amount to nothing more than participation trophies, without you actually learning much. Sensei Vlad works hard in teaching traditional Karate and ensuring that all his students receive the proper instruction so they can walk away knowing they EARNED those belts. Sensei Vlad is also great with kids, perfectly blending the balance of fun and serious learning; and targeting and working with each kids individual abilities.

Sensei Vladimir is a great instructor and inspires kids to try harder and focus on being the best they can be. This is a no nonsense class, but Sensei has found a great balance between learning and fun and my son, who is almost 8 now, loves it after almost 4 years in the program.

My 4 year old son has been attending True Championz for 6 months now and I cannot say enough AMAZING things about this place. Sensei Vlad is wonderful with children! He has so much patience and truly cares about them. He is engaging, a bit tough but fun...always cracks some jokes to lighten the mood. He always does something new with the kids in each class to make learning karate exciting. They especially love the reaction games in which they are learning skills but dont even know it since they are having so much fun playing the game. Joining True Championz was like joining a community. Sensei Vlad and his wife Rachel get to know the kids and parents so well. They host great Halloween and holiday parties too! I am so happy that my son loves attending and is happy to go twice a week. Im sure we will be there for many more years!

I had more than 15 years experience of Shotokan-Karate though, I am fully satisfied with True Champion class and I am learning a lot from Sensei here. His class is not only authenticZ but also very practical. And it is really kids-friendly class. I am very happy to practice this True ChampionZ!

I take Krav Maga with Sensei Vladimir and its been a life changing experience. The way he teaches is very organized and with a high attention to detail. He truly wants you to be able to defend yourself. I never thought I would attempt to learn karate, especially at my age. However, because of how Sensei Vladimir taught Krav Maga, I knew the karate he taught would be authentic and Id truly be learning a traditional art. I began my training with Sensei Vladimir a month after having a minor surgery, 6 and a half years ago. I was greatly impressed by Sensei Vladimir’s ability to work with me and my condition at the time and tailor private classes to my needs. The Dojo is very welcoming environment. Over time, Shotokan Karate training strengthened both my body and resolve and has been helping me to this day! I wanted to attend a martial arts school that really focused on the traditional art and perfecting technique as well as practical self defense, not one that just focuses on belt promotions. After my first class, I knew I was at the right place. Working with Sensei Vladimir, a vastly experienced martial artist and self-defense instructor, is always a pleasure. He is kind, understanding and encourages his students to push through any obstacles and challenges they may experience, both in and out of the Dojo. While the international standard for Shotokan Karate is rigid, Sensei finds a way to incorporate a variety of exercises and techniques to complement the Kata and Kihon curriculum, such as conditioning, sparring, and self-defense. Every class is a new and challenging learning experience. Over the years, with various health issues popping up, Sensei has been understanding, supportive, and continues to encourage me to push through them. I feel energized during and after every class! Sensei Vladimir has also been training individuals with developmental and/or physical conditions which is incredibly rare and commendable. Their progress and growth is astounding. I’m proud to call Sensei Vladimir my Sensei, mentor and friend.

My 9 year old has been attending this dojo since he was 4. He is doing both karate and Krav Maga and if I could rate this a 10 I would. Sensei Vladimir and his wife are both amazing people who have an incredible community spirit.Sensei V is great with all ages of kids and adults. His dojo is clean and inviting. He had gone above and beyond for his students. I would highly recommend this studio for anyone. There are many choices in classes too. My son was a shy, rather introverted kid. He is now confident, outgoing and disciplined. I give credit to his training!
