They take great care of the rescues, helpful staff if you are looking to foster or adopt. My FAVORITE is being able to walk the dogs. The dogs really enjoy it eve if its just a 5 min walk. 💕

They were very nice and understanding. They arranged to let my daughter pick up a kennel-trap(?) to try to catch my cat that escaped while I was staying with my daughter after the storm..I thank them very much!

We had a lot of restrictions on what kind of dog we could adopt and the staff helped match us with our little Harvey and helped us make sure he adapted to his new home.We’ve gone back to Zeus’ for regular grooming and they’re always kind, quick and professional. If you have a valid ID you can walk the dogs between 10am-3pm. That’s bout I found my new service dog and he his forever home.The universe led me to him in a day when I needed him most. His original name was Mr. Seven (just Seven For short) and I found out he was born on my birthday. After spending the day together I knew he was the most perfect companion and service dog for me. I suffer with PTSD, anxiety, major depression, and asthma. Somehow he just knew how to care for me. How to be whatever I needed. It’s been 2 weeks and we are so happy and grateful for all the work you guys do.

I had to surrender my dog, sadly, after the storm due to poor living conditions for the dog and owners. When bringing her in, the employees showed ZERO remorse, and is FALSELY accusing me of breeding the dog when she has always been around ONLY female dogs and always in a confined space with supervision. No questions were asked and My father and I were forcefully put out of the establishment.

I dont usually post online reviews, but this is about a serious issue that affects the health of their animals.*Please do not adopt any animals from here before having the animal checked by your own vet.*I adopted my two kitties from them about a year ago. When I recently took them to the vet to have their vaccines updated, the vet notified me they never received their proper vaccinations against upper respiratory infections. This is a required vaccine for all cats and it needs 2 doses. Zeuss never gave them the second one. I was heartbroken that my dear kitties were without proper protection for a year, but I figured it was a simple mistake. I called Zeuss to try to understand what happened. They were incredibly rude to me and stood by the fact they had done nothing wrong. They even said they sometimes take the liberty of only administering a single dose of this two dose vaccine. They know it needs two doses because my vet showed me in the chart where they indicated a second dose was required and never given.This is totally unacceptable. They claim to be a humane no kill shelter, but if those values dont extend to the comprehensive health of the animals, they are fraudulent. The cats live in a room with 40 other cats and since they were improperly vaccinated they could easily have gotten sick.

Come adopt a sweet loving dog or cat

I tried to adopt a few times from them and I was never able to do it. I am trying to give love, house and a family to this dogs but for some reason not explained to me, I do not qualify for the adoption. I have adopted 3 dogs from 3 different animal shelter or rescue places and I never had any problems with the adoption Iike I have here. I rather to spend money buying a dog for a breeder than buying a dog from here. Waste of time.

This has sadly been my first experience ever ATTEMPTING to adopt a pet from a shelter. I had just lost my dog, the love of my life and was grieving. I knew the only thing that might help was another dog and thank ZEUS I was blessed with a pup from the SPCA, but I was TRAUMATIZED after speaking to the Miss Hannigan of Dog Rescue shelters.After my little LEMMY went to the GRRRREAT BEYOND, I found a little dog on PETFINDER who looked EXACTLY like LEM. His name was STEWIE. Not only did I locate this little angel but my mother who lives in Chicago almost 1,000 miles away found STEWIE as well and excitedly txted me about the SAME DOG!I immediately filled out an application and wrote Zeus’s rescue an email about my situation. My lost LEMMY. And how I found STEWIE as did my mom.I couldn’t wait to talk to Zeus’s rescues and get an appointment to meet STEWIE as soon as I could.At first, I called and was connected to a very kind woman named Jamie who took down my information and gave me hope for the first time in two of the most awful weeks of my life.She politely told me that they were reviewing my application and I would get an appointment to meet STEWIE when they finished.I called back to ask a question and apparently Jamie went on break because I was connected with one of the most cruel, atrocious, bitter, and might I say downright psychotic and abusive telephone operators I’ve ever had the misfortune to speak to.She Was MISS HANNIGAN from ANNIE were she to work in an animal shelter.I told her I had put in an application to meet STEWIE.MISS HANNIGAN did not skip a beat by making sure to inform me in the NASTIEST WAY possible that STEWIE had a “WAITING LIST” and that I was “fifth in line”.That was pretty upsetting to be spoken to like that, especially when going through one of the worst losses in my life, but I just sucked it up and said “Yes. I understand”.She seemed flustered by my compliant reply and then threw in the fact that STEWIE had a “MEET AND GREET” the very next day!This sadistic psycho seemed to take GREAT JOY in informing me that there was little chance if any that I would ever even get to meet the pup who at the time I could only DREAM would be my new best friend!I really did not understand where she was coming from. What does this crazy lady expect me to do? SCREAM “NOOOOOOO!!!!!! THAT IS MY DOG!!!!!!!”??????Well she certainly SUCKseeded in hurling me into a much more desperate deep depression upon hanging up with her and almost giving up on my search for a new companion.GOOD NEWS IS I FOUND AND ADOPTED ANOTHER DOG OF MY DREAMS!But because of this bizarre lunatic I almost gave up! I don’t know her name but if you get some psycho on the phone who is trying to beat you down in your search for a furry friend..... DO NOT GIVE UP!!!!! There is something wrong with her! JAMIE IS REALLY NICE THOUGH! But yah this place is WEIRD AS HELL!!!!!

I volunteer here a couple times a week, the people are amazing and love what they do everyday. The dogs and cats are all so lovable and just need a good home and someone to care for them. Deffinitely come here if you are looking for an animal!!! Stay away from those breeders, it will save you money and save an animal from a life in a shelter.

Loved this place! There’s this fun kitten room where the kittens are running around playing and you get to interact with them before you decide who to adopt.

The receptionist/ person that answered the phone was very short patience and annoyed when I was asking and trying to get information from her concerning the connection to the spca and the adoption process.

I’m very upset with how they handle the adoption process. Applied a week or so out from a litter being born. Application approved. Was told to just keep waiting until the puppies are on the website up for adoption. Meanwhile they promised the all the puppies to someone else and didn’t give us this info until we called in. Heart broken. We’ve waited 10 years to add another member to our family.Stop jerking good people around!!!!

I’ve been around Zeus’ Rescues for years. I adopted my dog from them in 2011 and they were absolutely wonderful. It took some time to process my application because they are thorough and protective of the babies, which I appreciate. I’ve visited frequently since adopting Pearl because it’s a rescue I really trust and a wonderful place to do some easy volunteering. Every staff member is always kind and welcoming and they truly care about each animal. I would highly recommend adopting from them and donating if you can.

Great puppy rescue place

My daughter was looking for a dog for my granddaughter. We stopped by to see what they had you had to fill out papers to adopt a dog. Then if they approved you then you could come back to meet and greet with dog. How in hell can you tell if the dog was a match when they wouldnt let you see the dog to begin outside of there cage. So we went to the Louisiana pound and adopted a beautiful dog on sight.

This is a great service for our city. The personal are truly dedicated to the welfare of the animals in their care and to the people they serve. They deserve our support and encouragement.

Weve adopted 3 dogs from Zeuss and had the best experience each time. The people are super friendly and their love for all the animals in their care is totally apparent. They also make sure youre set up to succeed by sending you home with food and even loaning you carriers, leashes, litter boxes, or kennels if you need them. 10/10 would recommend

Ive personally met Michelle numerous times and every single time the love she has for the animals and her job is overwhelming. Being in the vet world we have had interactions and she’s always a pleasure dealing with. I First met her with the flood victim dogs several years ago and she was determined to help every single one of them. Had another dog who couldn’t stay in his new home and she immediately took him back since he was apart of her rescue. Highly recommend Michelle & Zeus’s place!

I have spoken to a few people here that have been incredibly rude and dismissive. Over the course of a month, I have been in 6-7 times to look at cats and there is always a girl with short blonde hair that treats me as if I am inadequate to own an animal.I had my sights set on a kitten with a broken paw and had spent WEEKS preparing my apartment so we (my boyfriend is a doctor) could take care of her properly. I spoke to someone named Molly who told me over the phone rudely that the kitten would be on medical hold (which is fine) but then said they dont hold kittens and since I have never owned an animal before, I am not the right person and etc etc. I HAVE owned a cat whom I loved very much and was well taken care of.I will never be coming back and will adopt from elsewhere.

Nice staff. Clean facility. They let us take a dog out on a walk. Kinda wish their cages were a little bigger, but they work with what they’ve got. Easy to adopt if wanted and cute animals.

I take my dog here for grooming and they do a great job! Shes part Pomeranian and her hair can be a hassle but they do a great cut and shes always happy when she comes home :)

I put in an application and they responded quick and said i was missing some info ..i gave them that info and it’s been a week since i heard back or anything so i went up there and the lady explained and said they would be with me as soon as possible and i still haven’t heard anything I’m just hoping nobody adopted the husky mixed puppy yet 😞

Caring animal rescue with foster program.

I went in to view a dog to adopt. The curly haired girl with glasses behind the desk was very rude. I was told that before I could view a dog, I had to fill out an application. I said okay,that was fine. She had a stack of paper applications on her desk. When I asked for one she rudely told me I had to do one online.I went back to my office and did an online application,and when I tried to send it, a few times, their website kept giving me an error message. I called them,and was told to come get a paper application,take pictures of it,then text it to them. Did that,didnt here from anyone until I called 3 weeks later. They told me that they never received a text from me. So I returned to the office to text another girl while I was standing in front of her in the office. I still havent had a word.Very rude and unprofessional place.

I took my shih tzu for grooming for about 3 years. The best groomer in town, by far. I was happy every time, and they handled my pup so well. They have great scheduling, and they are super efficient on turn around time. We moved out of town a few months ago. This place has been hard to match even in our new city. My Watsy and I miss this place tons.

If you live in the area before looking at the SPCA please try to check this place out first! They have less room for dogs and usually have to turn down dogs due to overcrowding. Since there is less room the dogs they keep are very adoptable, they are given tons of love and affection from their staff every day so they havent been in a cage with 30 other dogs constantly barking and freaking your potential pup out. There is no better chance of getting a great New best friend without anxiety issues in the st Charles Ave area. Plus once you pick your new dog, a space opens up for a new doggy in need. Please consider this place! Also if you lose your dog check here to see if someone turned them in.

Went by Zeus’ today with my sister who was looking to adopt a puppy. A catahoula mix puppy was posted on Instagram on Friday and my sister immediately sent in her application. We stopped by today on Wednesday in hopes of meeting the puppy and were told that she went straight from her foster family to another family. They wasted our time applying and the receptionist was insanely rude. She had red hair and was working today April 10. She was rude and dismissive of us when we asked to meet the dog and check the application status. I will never come here again which is a shame to all the animals there that need loving homes from people that are trying to provide them.Update: Michelle Ingram the owner reached out to us and threatened us to take down our reviews because she didn’t feel her employee was rude. She told my sister her feelings about the interaction were wrong which is not how an owner or a manager handles complaints. This place is really crazy and unprofessional. No wonder every person who has told us about this place has had something negative to say.

Came here to try and find a puppy to add to our family as a bday present for my fiancé. We walked in, were ignore by everyone at first then asked how can I help you in a VERY rude tone. We said we wanted to find a sibling for our current 8 month old and were intrested in finding out if they had any young pups. We were immediately asked if we had filled out an app and when we said no but we would be happy to do so and were told strait away we wouldn’t be allowed to see any of the dogs. AND the woman behind the desk under her breath said we should be told to wait in the yard. We tried to ask another question we were ignored for a few minutes and then we just said screw it there are plenty of nicer shelters in the area.I was SO disappointed we drove over an hour to visit the shelters here and have never been treated so poorly. For people who claim to want to get dogs adopted there surely didn’t make us feel like we were welcome.Will never return. Hope the dog we were ment to have isn’t located there because we will never find him then.
