Took Chosen to the SPCA for his first shots since weve had him. Everyone was really nice GREAT with everything they did to him. Seen in a timely manner. The doctor explained everything to me to where I can understand her. The nurse was really nice as well. This will be where he will be going. THANKS AGAIN KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK
Adopted Todd the cat in January 2021. He was my early birthday present from my sister, Jessica since she has a kitten named Lil Dorian Grey.Todd is an absolute joy and the purrrfect addition to our family! The staff is loving, caring and amazing to all of the animals there! I was very impressed by how dedicated they were to the animals! Now while we did move out of the city, Todd is growing to love country life!I would adopt again from the New Orleans chapter of the ASPCA!
Appointments at SPCA clinic always produce a detailed summary of my petβs health, issues, etc. The techβs are caring, friendly and gentle. Since lobby has reopened, itβs even better to be able to observe and talk with the dr in person. Recent appointment was right in time.
Our pup has been going to the vet at the LASPCA since she joined our family. Shes loves all of the care and attention the staff gives her each visit.
Ive been going to the LA SPCA for 6 years now and have always had great experiences. They are efficient yet take time with your pet. They have pivoted to continue to provide great care during COVID too. Cant recommend them enough!
The doctors are fantastic and very patient. The staff is very nice and seems happy to greet you with your pet and the prices are very reasonable. I am very happy with the service.
I brought my best friend, Pepper, to be laid to rest after living a long and happy 16 years (human years). The staff was very friendly and professional. They allowed me to hold him during the final injection when he took his last breath. I couldnt have asked for a more humane and wonderful experience after making this very difficult decision.

Had my 2 dogs fixed here a few days ago with the low cost clinic. Very highly recommended. Everyone I encountered at the drop off and pick up was very nice and professional. My puppy is terrified of new people and she wouldnt stop barking at them and would not move so the lady was nice enough to pick her up and bring her inside. She is a 36 pound puppy so it was nice to see her pick her up instead of pulling her by the lead to force her inside. My dogs incisions are very small and well closed. You can hardly tell the were fixed. Great place to go exp if money is tight.
I took my cat here for spaying and vaccinations and they took great care of her! Everyone was so polite and informative.
I cannot say enough how great this location is! From the techs to the drs to the volunteers. Everyone there is so nice & cares about your pet as if they were their own. Dr smith was great with my dog Nola, and helped me with a solution to her recent sprinkle problem sheβd been having since her uti. We love coming here for my dogs annuals and her medicine! Highly recommend
Thanks for all the help finding my cat!!
Great! Very patient as I looked for a new doggo to join my dog at home. We love our new girl so much!
The doctors at the community clinic provide top notch care. My dogs have loved visiting the newly built facilities. Please adopt a pet here.
Very nice great people and great place. Better than going to a vfx private vet.
My grandson said the flame burger meal tasked great. I know it smelled good βΊοΈ.
Great place you bring you animals. The staff is excellent and made the task of bringing 3 animals a whole lot easier.
Yall are Stopping and Discouraging People from Coming in Person to See and Possibly Adopt your Animals with this Appointment Nonsense..π£π..this Was Going on 12 Months Ago Sure when the Pandemic was Unknown..I Called Today to see were you Back Open to the Public and a Decietful mesage said Yes from 12pm -5pm We are Open to the Public....then when you get a Rep on the Phone they Say it Must be By Appointment ONLYππ€..Really?Thank God I did Not Travel Waay Over there from Downtown New Orleans for Nothing before Calling.πI dont Have to Make an Appointment to Go to Walmart, Sams, Dollar Tree, Target, ΔΉakeside Mall Or Anywhere Else so why are You So Contrite? Just Say Mask Required..Everyone Does Not Wish To Make an Appointment just to to see a Dog..and Furthermore Last I visited No One was Breaking the Doors Down to get in and Adopt so it wasnt like there were Lines of Covid Spreading People or Even 1 person behind me at all. SO please STOP Using COVID19 To Not Get Back to Work..π€¬π‘π€¬
When it comes to saving dogs from cruelty, the Louisiana SPCA is ineffective at best. It has been 8 days since I reported animal cruelty to them and for 8 days the dog has continued to suffer. Furthermore, there is no way for a citizen to even speak to anyone involved with animal control. If you call the SPCA to file a report, they will direct you to call the police, the police non-emergency line will then direct you to call the SPCA. If you call 311, the operator will link you to the police non emergency line. The only way to ACTUALLY file a report is to call 911. After that you will hear nothing, see nothing done, and be told by anyone you ask that there is no way of knowing if/when your case will be addressed. I know yall are dealing with a budget cut, and Im sorry to hear that, but Im more sorry for the animal in my neighborhood that will most likely die without intervention.
Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for inexpensive help for their animals. Everyone was super friendly and informative, made me feel like they really care for the animals. Great service overall!
The staff at the SPCA is amazing. The ladies that greeted us and retrieved my fur babies were friendly and very professional. They were patient and very caring with with them. The young lady that phoned to verify my complaints and services wanted was very professional and patient as we went over my my fur babies needs. She repeated and confirmed before she told the doctor. The doctor was phenomenal. She patiently went over the care given to my fur babies and their plan of care. She took her time to answer my questions and gave recommendations. I loved her patience, knowledge and professionalism. I recommend the SPCA to anyone looking for excellent animal care at an affordable cost. You wont be disappointed.
This place is great. All the staff are friendly and helpful answing all my questions about my pet.
Love this place they takecare of my dogs as well as others
They donβt answer the phone or respond to emails. My friend has been trying to call about her dog they took. They couldnβt care less about her case.
Sweet, knowledgeable staff help you find another family member
Nola Marie loved the care and treatment of her examination and vaccinations. She was cheerful and ready to ride with the wind blowing in her face. π lol
We bring our animals thereAnd the cost is reasonable
I finally broke after 10yrs of loosing my beloved Thomas (dog German shepherd husky mix) and found another love Tao (my husky) the volunteers and workers there were so nice and helpful and made my experience such a wonderful one! Id suggest anyone who is looking for their new addition to their family to check them out! The facility was nice and clean considering all the animals that were there. I love them and they also call you and check to make sure you and youre new pet is ok! My baby is huge for 1yrs old but he is home trained!
So kind and helpful. Very gentle with the lost dog we found.
Had a great visit with my 2 dogs who went in for their annual exam and Heartworm tests. I have been going to the LAScA clinic for a few years now and have been very happy with information I receive from the staff regarding my dogs health. I appreciate the thoroughness . It has been great !!!
This is a high kill shelter they raise Donations on Dead Dogs complaints are Being Filed with Criminal Investigators.
I will like to thank the entire staff at the LA SPCA. they was very caring when it came to my fur baby (Mr.Wilson) . When I was very concern about what was wrong with my baby they was empathetic with me and they gave him the best of care and after the visit they explained everything to me in great detail. With all said.. THANKS π TO THE GREAT STAFF AT THE LA.SPCA!!!π―π―πππ
I adopted my dog from SPCA. I now take him to the community clinic for his boosters and his skin. Heβs a lab/pit mix so his skin is sensitive. Anyway. They are awesome. I appreciate their willingness to help. If you are experiencing hardship they go out their way to help. My dog has received great care. Once I receive my bonus I will be donating back to them. Thank you for everything!!!
So, I adopted a cat here thinking she was 1.5 years old and going to warm up to my 1 year old cat because her age was on their vet report. WELL, she is around 7 years old! Dont worry, she acclimated to our family just fine! Thanks to Jackson Galaxys advice in literature (the man knows cats) and Feliway diffusers that put out nice hormone smells! Our little cat blossomed into the snuggle buddy she is. She just loves constantly. If I havent saved her, she would have started year 2 at the shelter. Now I know she is on the back of my couch looking out upon her doggy sister and cat brother at home.UPDATE on EMMA: Emma had a successful Christmas and New Year. I attached her Christmas photo
Whats not to love. Great people trying to do worthy things for our furry friends
The lady (not sure of her name) who grabs the pets from the cars to bring in for the appointment, she was very sweet to my dog and made sure to comfort him knowing he was scared. I see her every time I go and sheβs always been amazing!
I vet my dogs with the SPCA. They are amazing, personable, clean and most of all compassionate. A few weeks ago I had to deal with euthanasia with them. Once again above and beyond. Not only did they make this horrible situation an as comfortable as possible experience, so did Heavens Gate who they partner with for cremation. Nothing about this experience was pleasurable, but they made it as painless as they were able too, and I needed to somehow show my appreciation!
Ive used Louisiana SPCA for my pets as far back as Japonica Street, New Orleans, La; I was all so happy when they located on Mardi Gras Blvd. to the newer and more spacious facility. The Veterinarian, and staff are both knowledgeable and caring.. They treat my Pitty without love and care, carrying her when shes to stubborn to walk. SPCA prices are compatible to those Veterinary Clinics claiming to provide low cost care. Im very satisfied having them care for my furbaby, and you will be too!
Oh my the service here is 5 star because they were so gentle with my dog and they were very kind to me throughout the entire process. Thank you.
Friendly staff and fast service!π
The SPCA of new Orleans dont allow people to come in side with there pets cause they still on the covid-19 kick so even if you have an appointment with them you can not go inside with your pet you have to stay inside of your Hot car while they take there Time to get to you because they have so many people waiting in that hot as parking lot thank u
I love taking both my indoor and foster animals to LaSPCA. Whenever I adopt an animal, I always go to LaSPCA. Im excited that they have a clinic. For me, its conveniently located and everyone there really cares.
Wonderful staff wonderful place and always full of knowledge about any animal questions. Been going for years and always will.
Great place to bring stray animal or find your next friend.
Brought my dog here to get neutered. The staff was very professional and helpful. After his surgery they even walked him for me before loading him into my truck. The surgery area looks clean and well sutured. Overall, awesome place would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs their services.
Exceptional staff & service!
They would be a place I plan to take all my animals to. They neutered my 8 yr old Boston terrier.
The place is really big !The lady who received our stray kitten was loving to the baby and kind to us.Im glad there is a place like this for our pets to be cared for π
This place is staffed with amazing humans!
Great service and reasonable prices. Extremely organized with new COVID practices. Took very good care of my puppy. We will continue to return to LA SPCA
Hi this is Kevin Guidry and I just wanna say a couple of things about the New Orleans siteIβve been here 3 times and Every time has been awesome. You guys are so nice. Everybody from the people on the phones all the way to the doctors. The place is nice and clean, and the people are ridiculously sweet. Doesnβt get any better than that. Iβm sure NASH loves it here too. What you do and the care you have for these animals is, itβs just awesome! Looking forward to bringing Nash here for life!!!Thank yβall very very much for taking care of him!!
Just loved it the staff was GREAT ! No waiting ! They were very professional and caring of the needs of my dog and my wife who was nervous of her big baby being taken from her for his shots and his ear infection ! The staff would come out and inform us of everything that was done and in progress ! My dog doesnt like any one except me and my wife ! But he could have went home with one of the staff members ! He really took to her ! And I would like to just say THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR EXCELLENT SERVICE !
Great service and care for my cat who came to get spayed, but was discovered to have already been spayed and so they didnt charge me anything. Jayme Lauderdale, D.V.M. was helpful and answered all my questions.
Great folks over there took care of all of our cats!...affordable, knowledgeable and oh so needed and appreciated!...
Just fostered two beautiful kittens I intend to adopt. Clean place, got cats hanging out in the front. People are cool. Could answer their phone a little more though.
They base there decisions on a 72 hr period! Inhumane! Cruel! And do not have the animals best interest at heart! If someone put a pole around your neck after being neglected you would be terrified right? Ok well these ppl would choose to say your un adoptable and put you to sleep! No thatβs wrong! If you want to adopt a well loved and treated right pet go to VILLALOBOS RESCUE CENTER! There you will find pets treated right and loved look up the story on pit bulls and parolees and see for yourself HAVE A HEART!
Very clean, covid safe, friendly staff. Call ahead.
The reasons are too many here people are doing their very best in helping other living creatures in times of their greatest needs. Yes everyday heroes .we can all help donate volunteer Adopt .theres always room for heroes.
Brought my sons cat for annual check. did not know what to expect, since this is the first visit since inset of COVID-19. Well I must say, the visit went so smooth, private, and short. I recommend if your pet needs a visit, dont hesitate. Its working great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you plan to take your pets here for the clinic, get ready for Carrie, the vet tech, to practically spit in your face and not help you whatsoever. I have been trying to make an appointment here for months and no one ever answers the phone or returns my calls, so I decided to walk up to the doors and make one in person. Carrie decides to come out and immediately starts to patronize me when all I was trying to do was explain to her my dilemma. She then gives me a phone number, telling me that someone will answer, and tells me to make an appointment online. I went online, filled out my info, but I couldnβt log on because my profile was being processed. I have 2 pets who need their annual vaccinations, so I call the number she gave me and it went straight to voicemail where they explicitly say βwe will take SEVERAL days to return your call.β I talk to Carrie again, but instead of helping, she belittles me by going in circles, telling me to make an appointment online or call the number (AGAIN).She seemed to help the other 2 yt people so easily and happily, but took one look at me and decided to not be helpful.
Adopted one of my dogs here. And now all three of my fur babys go to the community clinic for there vet care. They are awesome and friendly and the place is super clean. Love taking my dogs here.
Reasonable prices for all the basics including shots, spaying/neutering.
First of all they were very nice to me second of all they called my cat ugly and shaved its hair last of all the people there said take that ugly cat away.By:Anna
Best animal rescue, shelter, and pretty much everything else that involves caring of pets and animals. Prices are decent as well, and always greeted and spoken to nicely by staff.
The staff at Louisiana SPCA are helpful, kind and generous. Ive been to the clinic twice during COVID and they have their low-contact system very well organized. The person who fetched the critters from my car on both occasions went above and beyond and deserves 10 stars. I was super stressed, worried about how I would pay the bill, and they treated me with dignity and respect every step of the way. At the end of my second visit they did not charge me for the the quick follow up visit and antibiotics shot. The only downsides are beyond their control: not being able to be in the room with the vet to ask questions, and the difficulty in reaching the clinic by phone on the first try. They are very good at returning calls and emails, so its a little frustrating to get through. Once you do, its smooth sailing.
My dogs visit to LSPCA was one of the best experiences ever with a clinic. Even though I was not allowed in the building, my baby was well taken care of and the staff was very caring. Communicating with everyone including the vet was a breeze. I will definitely make the long commute again for all my pet visits.
Very helpful and nice people when looking for the right match. Love this place and what they do.
I am a foster parent. My point of contact, Katie Palmer, was the most incompetent person I have ever had the misfortune of working with. Our appointment to get our foster kittens spayed/neutered was canceled three times. On the fourth time, after we dropped our kittens off and came back 24 hours later to pick them up, they still had not had the necessary surgeries because the proper paperwork was not filed. I contacted Katie 5 times after that to have it fixed, and I was ignored every time. Eventually,Β someone else at the shelter was able to help us out.The shelter also lost our pet carrier, and our kittens were returned to us covered in their own waste products. I have no idea what happened to them while they were there.I understand this is a non-profit shelter, but thats not an excuse for wasting my time,Β losing my personal property, and putting myΒ kittens health at risk. I was just asking them to do their job correctly, but apparently, that was too much to ask.
Very safe and professional. Didnt take long with me and dog. Awesome service!
The staff was great handle all my pups need every thing went very well I am very pleased with the service the S P C A provided
Great service. Treats your animals with the upmost respect and care, along with friendly customer service. They are currently following all covid protections and can take care of you out of your car
Such a pleasant experience! After going to two other local vets and spending hundreds of dollars, the SPCA clinic finally treated all three of our kittens appropriately. The techs were also extremely helpful with our dirty kitties as they had gotten nervous on the car ride there. Will be back in 2 weeks for check-ups and vaccines, and again for spaying/neutering once they are able to gain enough weight.
Adjusted my review. Brought my dog to get neutered and he caught kennel cough. Now all my dogs have it.
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVE THE CARE AND SUPPORT THE STAFF HAS GIVEN ME AND MY PETS. THEIR LOVE AND ATTENTION IS SO KIND AND GREAT.YOU REALLY KNOW THEY LOVE THEIR WORK . THANK YOU SPCA FOR ALL YOU DO FOR US AND OUR COMMUNITY. VIRGINIA AND FLORENCE SAY THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVING CARE.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. As a foster that eventually adopted, we thought they would take care of us especially because theyve dropped the ball on our pets heartworm treatments, but not they didnt, We had an appointment to finally have the 2nd heartworm treatment and the incompetent workers pointed us in the direction of the spay drop off. After waiting there for over 20 mins with other upset customers, we decided to leave. Countless attempts at trying to reach them by phone were made until we get an automated text message that they went ahead(without notice) rescheduled our visit for a time that we cant even make. Now we have a sick, dying pet at home because this place cant do their jobs correctly. To management(if there even is any) - please feel free to reach out to me to address the horrible service we received.
A wonderful experience. Employees super helpful and friendly. They care - about the animals and the adoptors. I recommend highly !!
Great place best place for dogs and cats to go! I got my dog back but might be looking to adopt a lab soon
This place where I got my dog π. I will get not one one day.. Keep up the good job stay safe
