Def worth the price. Spacious rooms, great service, I felt welcomed, the bar was awesome, the lobby was comfortable and the football game was on. The views are great. Prefect location. I felt safe. Live band in the lobby near the bar . Just a cool atmosphere in general. Probably my fave hotel in New Orleans. It was all worth it. The room size …. You will not find in too many hotels and they are dog friendly!!!!

This is an excellent hotel. The staff are amazing, the rooms are fantastic and lavish, the location is ideal, and the views are breathtaking. As of September 2021, this hotel requires vaccination card or 72 hour negative COVID test. One thing I really look at is elevator speed and availability. The first few elevators on the ground floor are used to go up to the 11th floor for check-in (bottom floors are a shopping mall). Then, there are 4 main elevators that require a room key to use. These elevators are very efficient and fast. I never waited more than 30 seconds for an elevator. The rooms are magnificent with an amazing view of the river and the Jackson Square area.Parking is available at about $35/night.Hotels in the area are currently packed for hurricane relief, so I was lucky to find this place.

Positive: Very clean¿ no odor in the rooms nor the hallways!!! The view from the hotel widow of the city and waterside was breathtaking! Loved all the high end designer stores inside the hotel with a theater and food courts. It had more of a mall atmosphere. Negative: I have not one negative remark about this hotel!

Even in these trying times, our stay at this beautiful hotel was beyond five-star! The location is perfect - you would not have to leave the facility if you didnt want to (shopping, movie theatre, cafes are all inside the Canal Place facility). But of course, being close to all the best museums and places New Orleans is famous for - you will want to venture out! We found the public areas beautiful, relaxing, spotless, and very roomy. The rooms are very spacious, well appointed, clean, and the beds are so comfortable (pillows galore to boot)! We had plenty of towels and housekeeping made sure we had any extras we desired! The view of the Mighty Mississippi was breathtaking! Above all, the friendly staff everywhere we turned made us feel like we were truly valued guests! Brett, the bartender, went above and beyond to get our food and drinks lightening fast. He and his team were so attentive and friendly and made sure our needs were met before we had to ask! Drinks were delicious and the food we had rivaled many of the top notch restaurants in New Orleans! On our last day, Byron, the F&B Manager came by our table to make sure everything about our lobby/bar experience was perfect, and he also inquired about how our entire stay was! We ended up talking to him for quite some time. He was a delight to converse with and clearly loves what he does! This kind of treatment is what puts this place at the top! Everyone on the team made sure we had a first class experience - they knocked it out of the park! We cant wait to return!

He truly made me, my friend & my son feel like we were the most important guests in the room. The location is perfect. The hotel is beautiful & clean! There is no better view of New Orleans & the Mississippi River than the views from the Lobby & rooms in this hotel! We’ll done Westin!!

Gorgeous!!! Loved the view of the River and French Quarter from our room. We parked our car in the garage and didn’t get back in it until we left…4 days later. Everything you would ask for was within easy walking distance, and the fact that it is attached to a mall is an added bonus. Breakfast during the week is grab and go only, but there is a breakfast buffet Fri-Sun.

Hotel was clean and the staff friendly. We booked two rooms and were notified they were ready early in the day. Parking was in the garage behind the hotel and you took an elevator up to the hotel from there. The rooms were next door to each other but each connected to a different room instead of each other. The connecting door in my room was missing the top bar to stop people from coming in from that side. They do charge for bottled water in the room. $3 each. Not easy to leave the room and grab food since you would have to take multiple elevators down. We were too tired to do that so we just went to bed. Tried to put on the kids tv channel but found out it was charging for movies so we just put on food network. Beds are soft but not too soft. They need new pillows, 3 out of 4 on the bed were super flat dead pillows. Rooms were clean. You will hear people in the hallways, outside the window (despite being up so high), and definitely heard the train blowing its horn last night and this morning.

For starters the room had several things wrong with it, the duvet cover zipper was broken so comforter and the cover inside was untied making it fall down to our feet during the night. The smoke detector was barely hanging on the wall. Hair was stuck to the ceiling in the bathroom. Moving on to the service, the night bartender was great and friendly, she took care of us very well. The day-time employees however were dismissive and somewhat rude, and the breakfast at 35 bucks is bland at best. The only redeeming quality of the hotel was the location and view. You are 10 to 15 minutes from the quarter, the French Market and the casino as well as the aquarium. There are also restaurants everywhere. The last thing I will add is the bed it is very very firm this isnt always a negative but if you are looking for a soft or medium bed. This is not the place for you.

I’m trying to be nice but this hotel is a 3 star at best. If you are expecting 4.5 Star quality go to the Ritz. Paper thin walls won’t let you sleep, honking trains in the middle of the night, subpar cleanliness and terrible amenities. My family and I stayed here during the 4th of July weekend. The hotel is very nice as it sits on top of nice retail shopping. You have to ride the elevator up to the 11th floor to access the hotel lobby. The views from the hotel are beautiful especially during this holiday and experiencing the fireworks. The front desk associates were pleasant but made an error when accommodating a room request change that caused other people to try and access our room while we were in there...mistakes happen and not my reason for the low rating. We had plans of checking out on the 4th but decided to stay an extra day. That decision also prompted us to change rooms. We reserved the Presidential suite and the room directly adjacent to that room. Both rooms sit within a set of double doors. These two rooms are approx. 10ft. from the next group of guests rooms. However, to the right of the double doors is a staircase and an employee elevator. These details are important because the day we moved into these rooms not even 2 hours passed before someone had walked into the adjacent room and stole my sons backpack out the room. My family and I were in the Presidential suite talking. Ironically too, my MIL went to the door of the PS to find a security person in the foyer who stated for us to keep the doors closed (my 1st time hearing of security going around telling guest that) We reported it and they took an investigation report from me. My husband went back to the original room on the 20th floor to look for it (although we were certain it was not left there) to find a cleaning lady frantically looking for her backpack that apparently had been taken off her cart. Oh did I mention, you cannot access ANY floors to guests rooms without a key. So you have to have a key or someone lets you go up using their key access. I was told by Sharron (front desk mgr who showed concern) that a claim would be filed for the backpack and some forgiveness would be granted for the rooms. As of date we have not received anything or an update. We would much rather have our bag back...it was never about the money. I have filled out the feedback survey and stated my concerns and yet no follow-up other than a Katherine saying they got the feedback. I have personally called to speak with Jerry R. (GM) on 3 occasions and he just refuses to return any of my phone calls. There is a real problem in this hotel from leadership down. To spend the money we spent and to not get a call back to resolve is unacceptable. We wont talk about the lack of security I found out that exists. I tried to handle this with the hotel leadership and not post a review but they lack in professionalism and follow-up.

PART 1.. It took me about a week to gather my thoughts in order to be sure I could write this review in as much detail as possible. That will not only warn others, but to also set correct expectations staying in this hotel. When you think of Westin you think of luxury, fantastic staff, comfortable sheets, and a relaxing stay. I suppose sticking the name Westin on a building does not adhere to ensuring the same set of expectations are met, no matter what city or state the hotel is located in. Now, of all of the Westin Hotels I have stayed in, yes Westin Hotel is 99% my preferred stay of choice no matter where I am going. This, had to be the absolute worst Westin I have ever stayed in. As a long time Marriott Bonvoy member I have never been so utterly disappointed in a Westin hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, and as a long time Westin customer I would expect nothing less. Upon our arrival on 5/13/21 stars immediately began shaving off this review. Like a teenager with a cheep razor. Typically I do not write reviews, especially negative ones. However, the actions of the hotel and its staff must be written. Most customers who stay at this hotel will complain regarding the two separate elevators within the building. This part did not inconvenience me as much as the crusty hotel towels ( mind you we only received three towels for our five night stay ). Not receiving the complementary water bottles upon check in, which is a custom in all Westin Hotels. Having to ask for the water bottles, and receiving an eye roll from the front desk attendant for asking. Of course, I am thinking nothing of this, the downstairs car attendant was very pleasant and helpful. I would have never anticipated what was coming next. After checking into the room, within moments we noticed smeared makeup on the bathroom wall ( sure wish I could enter in pictures here ). A massive splatter, almost as if the guest before us had smooshed her face into the wall, and sadly housekeeping didn’t consider cleaning it before allowing us to check in. Definitely not Covid sanitation friendly. Only one toilet paper roll ( did I mention it was a 5 night stay?) Hair in the sink and tub. Itchy hotel bed linens, sad excuses for hotelpillows. My poor neck! As well as no notorious Westin robes in the room. I was told they had to be requested due to Covid. Of course I requested them, to wait an hour, to have to call and request them again. No, the hotel was not busy, so the delay, I am unsure of. The robes were just as over starched, sticky and crusty as the towels and linens. Please stop using so much starch! Most people do not mind receiving a tub in place of a shower. Most people however do mind when you take a shower and the drain is so clogged with the hair if other guests the tub hardly drains. To the extent that the tub fills up every time a shower is taken. Gross! We were also told we had to request the room to be serviced, of which we did... on several separate occasions. I’m assuming the attendant at the front desk was too busy rolling her eyes over water bottles to sign us up. After she asked us if we wanted the room to be serviced. If you’re wondering, no, the room was not serviced once for the entire five nights/ six days we were there. We did not receive as much as a trash bag. Instead, I had to hunt down house keeping on several occasions to ask for clean towels - toilet paper - and request the room to be cleaned with fresh sheets. We got so fed up, eventually I had to walk to the housekeeping closet and grab the towels myself to avoid the clear annoyance, eye rolls and sighs from the housekeeper on the 17th floor. I guess I should have grabbed clean sheets too so we could make the beds ourselves. But, we will get to her later. SEE part 2

Part 2.. See Part 1... Fast forward to the middle of our stay, around 1:30am. I contact the front desk for a recommendation on any open restaurants in the city. He was not only rude, but clearly irked that I was interrupting his phone time. I say phone time because any and every-time we walked through the hotel in the evenings, there he sat on his phone. He instructed me to try Uber Eats and abruptly hung up the phone. This part I also have on video. A few moments later hotel security comes banging on the door to tell us to keep it down and go to bed. Mind you, we had no music, no tv, no party, only two of us in the room, not even talking. Assumably the front desk attendant was so hindered, he had security come tell us to go to bed. Go to bed, that’s what security told us... Better yet, the moment security left, a guest banged on the opposite side of the wall. I presume the other guests running through the halls screaming “ I want to play “ and banging on the doors. As well as a group of ladies standing by the elevator talking and laughing as if we were in a club. Made that guest assume the noise was coming from our room. Fast forward to check out, this hotel has a 12pm check out. Not 10am, not 9:30am. 12pm. I requested a late check out for 1pm. I am puzzled as to why the housekeeper on the 17th floor took it upon herself to began banging on the door at 9am. Not only bang, but try her key card to enter the room due to no answer because we were asleep. Thankfully I had the top lock on the door. Still, compromising the security of your guests to began cleaning the room at 9am when check out is at 1pm? I am disturbed. The first time she banged, I got up to ensure our do not disturb sign was on the door to find it had been removed by this housekeeper. I told her the first time we had a late check out. She then proceeded to come back at 10:30am and bang on the door a second time so she could began cleaning the room. I informed her a second time, we had a late check out and to please stop banging on the door. I was told by the front desk this was customary in this hotel due to most guests leaving in the middle of the night. My confusion lies in the lack of communication to the housekeeper, ensuring she was aware there were guests still in the room. In order to avoid the troublesome action of a stranger trying to enter the room while you are sleeping. I’m sure her excuse was there was no do not disturb sign. Which she had removed or it grew legs and walked away - because we had it hung the entire stay. After the issue with the housekeeper that morning, we are going down to load the car, only to find a boot had been placed on the car. ( Again I have a picture of this too, wouldn’t these come in handy ). We were instructed the hotel charges the parking to the card that was on file. As to why, when we are trying to check out there was a boot placed moments before we leave ( no, it was not there the night before ) I am still unclear of. After requesting to the front desk to have the boot removed from my car. I asked for an explanation, and am told they didn’t realize I had a late checkout! I have never, ever been so disappointed in a Westin. Believe me, I have stayed in many Westin hotels throughout my life. I understand this hotel is in a party city, however that does not excuse the actions of the hotel nor attitudes from the staff. I once’s stayed in a Westin in Cancun, Mexico a much larger party city, and had a five star stay across the board. $1k plus dollars I paid to stay in this hotel, not including the tab at the bar and parking. I might’ve been better off staying at the Double Tree across the street. Both bell hops that assisted us during our stay and the nice female bartender working the night shifts in the lobby. I now have such a bad taste for Westin, I may never stay in this hotel chain again. The bitter distaste in my mouth from this stay has now sadly stained my always raving recommendation of Westin. Disappointed!!

Positive: Location Negative: When I attempted to make coffee in the kuerig, I opened up the grounds area and there were old coffee grounds in it. This leads me to believe that the room was not sanitized all the way.

A bit complicated and outdated hotel. I would not order from their QR menu, it’s basically DoorDash but seems to take much longer

Westin hotels are usually superior in any given city; applies here as well. Good location and keeps you above the chaos of N.O. when you need reprieve.

Hotel was room was clean and spacious. The front desk staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the local area. She gave us a few ideas on places to eat. The hotel is actually on top of a mall which was nice to do some shopping. Overall it was nice.
