No place to park. Lot of dropped trailer and parked trucks. Place could be a gold mine if it had proper business sense. Went in looked around not a placeI would want to stay in. Yea it’s junkie looking but hey, it is New Orleans right ?

The reviews are completely backwards. Was not gonna park here . But wanted to be closer to some stuff to do so I did. Great customer service. Very clean. And the food smelled good. Cheap parking . With a decent sized lot . No tight backing .

We came here last year feb 25 for fat Tuesday mardi gras in a 38 ft rv. Thought the place was great close to thr french quarter so we decided to come back this year april 17 was told no more rv parking. Went to 3 differnt places got kicked out of all of them the rv parks couldnt accomodate a 38 ft pull thru towing a car..new Orleans isnt rv friendly..endings up going to slidell staying at Walmart..will NEVER stop in newalins again sorry it was the worst time. even after getting pick pocketed at Mardi gras last year lost everything.. So so sad new orleans isnt rv friendly..

Showers cost us $20 and were too small. Shower curtain is half held on, ripped and falling off, they cost a $1 at the Dollar Tree.

Decent place to stop if you want to see New Orleans, that is, if you can find a spot among the part time drivers trucks. My problem with the place is the parking lot is typically full of dropped trailers and truck spots taken by cars. If the owners would stop allowing dropped trailers and 4wheeler parking in truck spots it would be a lot more accessible. I hate truckstops that are basically parking lots for part timers and thats exactly what this place is. There are approximately 50 spots here and I would venture to guess 45 are taken by empty cabs.

Decided to make it a place to take my 34 but wish I had gone somewhere else. Station was closed the whole time I was here. I know a hurricane had just happened but if everywhere else next to it has power, then why stay closed. Really disappointed!!!

I’ve stayed here before. Very friendly people at the fuel desk. I believe it was $10/day for truck parking. The French quarter is less than a 10 minute Uber ride away. I recommend. I will be back!

Big easy independent truckstop. $10 for 24 hours parking. City bus stop right across the street or about $10 cab or Uber ride. Yes there are bathrooms. Security on site.Its new Orleans people! Very true good folks. But your gonna get what you give, so if you have attitude or are rude then thats how you will be treated.Patricia was a very pleasant and helpful cashier.So dont believe the majority of the reviews here. Apparently they thought they were going to find a country club in the middle of New Orleans.

Great experience. Cashiers are very friendly and knowledgeable and they had some really great food. Place was clean and a wide variety of items for sale. Definitely coming back here. Also I hit big at the casino. Win win!

Its been many years, but it was always a blast

No one ever cared about this truck stop until this young lady got killed. I am very sorry about what happen to her but we can not blame the truck stop. Do you know how many people park on this people lot without paying and they dont bother you. I myself have done it many of weekends and never had any problems I never feared for my safety or anything. I also have lived just across the street from this place many of years and nothing bad ever happen. Yes as truck drivers we have been to better truck stops and this place does need a lot of work done to it, we still cant fault them for the death of that young lady.

If youre on the outside looking in you will say this place is unsafe. We want our love ones safe when theyre over the road. To defend your business is one thing, however, to completely say we are not responsible for the death of the truck driver is ridiculous. You dont know if youre responsible because for some reason you havent invested in security cameras, you expect your customers to come in and say theyre not paying as you replied on a different review. This is your business, you keep tabs on who pays, who overstays and make yourself aware of whats going on your property. Stop saying were making improvements and actually do it. The only people I see giving you a okay rating are the people who live in the area. Do better.

Love that truck stop gas station and convenience store, especially the employees they always put out an exciting atmosphere and with the casino right next door theres always somewhere to do something in the 7th Ward

Nice big parking lot, two hour lead way on parking prior to having you pay 10$ for the day. Showers were not very big nor super clean. The was hot water and bring your own towel the charge 4$and 10$ for the shower. Would do it again.

Had parking when I needed it. Lot has nice lighting, easy truck parking, close to entertainment. Staff wasnt friendly nor offered any greetings upon coming in the store. I would come again.

Its definitely not a Loves or a Flying j but its definitely not what people were describing it in the reviews. the stores a little run-down but they have all the necessities that you would need. The parking lot is not as lit as I would prefer but works for the location.

Never had an issue here. very basic truck stop. 2hrs free parking. overnight is 10 bucks. not bad considering how close to downtown you are. bus stop is directly across the street only 3 bucks for a day pass to ride into town and back. no hassles, no lizards, always have plenty of time to go downtown

Don’t be fooled by the name, it’s a truck stop, but it’s much more than that, whenever I stop in for breakfast, it’s just like being at home around the dinner table, Lots of laughs and at times serious conversations at what’s going on in the city, the employees are friendly and helpful, I have noticed some changes lately, so more than likely I’ll have to up my rating, this rating is mostly about the people and their ability to make you feel at home, even the new guy

Love how still her death is trying to be justified by her leaving her truck but she was murdered/died on the truck stops property in her truck. No videos cameras no one else seeing what happened. But clearly this place is only still open because of the locals and truck drivers(have some respect). Someone was watching her from the jump & I won’t doubt that this is someone this type of place sees all that he time. Crazy but obviously extremely unsafe. The trucks on the property were mostly locals truck likely with no one in them. Rest In Peace Kameshia. Anywhere else they would have been banging on the truck or having it towed in 24hrs due to lack of payment.

Dont buy into all the negative reviews. I decided to stay here on a whim and it was a good experience. The staff was very friendly and the casino was full of locals who know how to have a good time. Next trip through New Orleans I know where Ill be staying.

Disgusting and rude. Really regret stopping here. The place was very dirty, the bathrooms were ‘being cleaned’ they told me to wait 1/2 hour to use them then quizzed me about what i was doing there. When i told them i was a regular driver coming to fill up on gas and buy food they told me i couldn’t use the bathroom anyway.... We left, used the bathroom at the Lowe’s next door, gased up at a regular station, and stopped at Subway for food. If you’re coming through and looking for a one stop shop, I recommend waiting for a Loves Truck Stop.

I never stopped here but I want answers and so does the family. Where is the cameras? Where the camera from the truck. Why is it that no one providing the family with details. I hate to take it to where I am going with my next statement, but if it was someone of a different race they would be all over it and shut this place down. I wish the truck stop would take more responsibility on what happen to that trucker. Camera should be in play when there is a highly effective area .. not only for the safety of your customers but all so for your employee and personal for the business. Parked here for 2 days, no problems what so ever. The place is a little run down but clean, didnt try the food but it smelled good. Friendly people, quiet except for the highway noise.

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday are my days that I visit the mardi gras truck stop for breakfast that is so delicious, reasonable price plenty for your money until I started recommending this place to all my peers at work besides the ones I bring with me you can sit down and enjoy your breakfast feeling comfortable the employees are very polite, friendly & welcoming

Staff friendly, pretty dirty, but is monitored by security. Great for going down French Quarter if you want a great time for a layover! Across street, take bus 55 for $1.25 to go to French Quarter. This bus runs 24/7 but later in the evening, I would take a taxi about $8.00 +/-I would not use this place for a shower, but only for a layover to French Quarter. Pretty nasty & expensive!

Has to be the worst truck stop ever no showers no restrooms and not much food to buy unless you like chips candy and soda pop owner is a dick woke us all up @midnight making everybody pay $10 for overnight parking he had signed so little hung up that no driver could see them. Ill never come back to this truck stop again

Its quite apparent that this establishment feels that they are not responsible for the death of one of their patrons (whether she paid for parking or not). As a truck driver, Ive been to some truck stops that were in a very bad part of town. Just to name a few, one in Montgomery AL, one in Birmingham AL, a very bad one in Atlanta (which also had a fatality on its property), another one in Jackson MS. Most truck drivers know exactly which truck stops Im referring to. Anyway that being said all of those truck stops have one common denominator, they all have working security cameras on their property. PS. The truck stop in Atlanta thought that they werent responsible for the death on their property either. DeKalb county court system thought otherwise. Albeit this establishment will holler not responsible till the cows come home. Im thinking that this establishment needs to be bought to the attention of one of these professional publicity seekers like Rev. Al Sharpton or Rev. Jesse Jackson they really strive off of this kind of stuff. Or better yet, the Nation Of Islam and Louis Farrakhan with 100 bowtie wearing black men having a protest rally there just might get some answers from whomever.

The location is very convenient but the SHOWERS ARE HORRIBLE!! There were hairs everywhere sink floor shower walls and the trash hadnt been change in a while. Seems like they dont wash them after EACH use.

I’ve been a driver since 1990. Mardi Gras truck stop was a dive then and is a dive now. I stopped there one time, I wouldn’t even drink a cup of coffee from that filthy place. No professional driver would be caught dead in that place. That being said, they did not cause that woman’s death. If you are looking for trouble, chances are you will find it. Quite honestly it’s the low life drivers that hang out in that place, and places like that, that give professional drivers a bad name. As Forrest Gump would say — Thats all I have to say about that.

This isnt a truck stop. Its a convenience store with a big parking lot filled with various vehicles in rented spaces. I go inside to cash an EFS check, and there are two girls in there that couldnt be older than 17.One looks like a deer in the headlights, the other one is sitting down at the only table in there by the hot food cases with her phone stuck to her face. I ask the deer in the headlights girl if they can cash an EFS check. She looked at me like I was from another planet, and said no sir we dont very politely I will add. So there I sat out of hours waiting for my break to be up so that I can go to real truck stop to cash my EFS check after using my cash on hand for tolls. Oh, and watch out for the guy sitting by the door. He comes right up to you asking for money or if you want to buy something. I think the owners should put the girls outside, and put the guy behind the counter. He seemed a little more energetic and responsive.

12 bucks to park and explore NOLA isnt bad, but the no public restooms and no drinks is a joke. For 1.64 you can get a coffee shooter, apparently a real sized cup of coffee is not available. Fountain machine broke, coolers bare of most drinks. Dirty and the local lizards have been spotted slithering around. If you want to pay for a close location to park and explore its okay just dont think you can get anything to eat or drink. Which helps cut back on the need to use the bathroom.

The womens rest room was disgusting, the Subway didnt have yellow egg (just egg whites). And if you go to their website, youd think it was some modern truck stop with a lot of services for drivers. Not at all. But they charge $10 to park overnight.

All of the other commenters make solid, valid (and, in some instances, concerning) points. But, if you are towing a trailer and need a place to park for a night while you explore New Orleans, the Mardi Gras is your spot. $10 with security. Cant beat it.

Its a tight parking area, kinda full during Mardi Gras. Usually pretty busy, so you wait in line. NOT the WORST truck stop, not the best either. Location to the French Quarter is convenient, short walk and youre there

Pretty bad .....The showering is considered for the homeless population .They dont clean the shower until before your about to use it .Theres no towels given for paying for $10 dollar shower .I waited in the middle of the store for 15 mins while the 2 register girls jabbered on confused about the showers .I would have given it a one star but I had to consider the food, and the girl making the food .The food was good and the girl cooking was nice .

Question to the owner, why are truck drivers charged for parking in your lot? The reason I ask is because every truck stop that I have ever paid to park at has a SECURE lot with SECURITY CAMERAS and SECURITY PATROL. The point of being charged for parking is that security is provided, otherwise why charge us to park?

Horrible service .bathrooms are filthy. They charge 10 dollars a day for parking 10 dollars for a shower . Showets are the worse i ever been in they charge u for towels water was cold took a cold shower it was hell. I told them there is no hot water the guy that takes care of the showers responded by oh well sorry shrug his shoulders and walked away . They will never get my business again no fuel no food not even penny candies they should look into this place hookers in there sitting in the drivers lounge if thats what they call it

I bought over 100 gallons of fuel, thinking that Id get a free shower, wroooong. The fuel paid for parking, I paid 10 bucks for a shower, and 3 bucks for a crappie towel. I didnt notice until to late that towel had hair on it. Shower was so nasty that I dropped my shower bag, and decided that it wasnt worth picking up. Toilet wasnt even flushed. Ive been driving 21 years and this is the nastiest shower yet.
