The owner is a helpful and kind gentleman. While you wait you can read up on some history, the building used to be a recording studio back in the blues/rock&roll era.

I was listening to the radio due to the electricity being out because of Hurricane Ida. The Lost Sock on Rampart Street was advertised as being open in the city of New Orleans. I was so happy to hear this great news that I immediately jumped into my car to find it. The Lost Sock is located across the street from Louis Armstrong Park, and inside the business is an Art Gallery.

I was so thankful with them being opened! It was very busy and the staff was fantastic! But, I knew that would be the last time going there I had 2.50 cents and I was going to leave it with staff and Imy mind was somewhere else for a second. This outta shape fat cow came next to me while I was drying my clothes talking about how blessed she was! My card was on the table way in the back it was just us back there. That piggy said two times that shes leaving her whatever on the table I was using and I had my back turned not minding her. I was looking for the card and it said look for me! As I was leaving she was looking stupid! I made eye contact with her and I just shook my head at her! Staff was busy and I just it go. Shell get hers!🐷🐷🐷

Only in New Orleans!!! What a good and uniquely fun laundromat. This location is under new management and they are making great changes. Don’t let the construction fool you; the machines are great. The jukebox adds a lot of fun to the space. You can get a coffee or cocktail to drink next door while you’re waiting or dance in the isles. Every day this location gets better & very LGBTQ+ inclusive.

The attendant was very rude and tried to make me use a super washer($7) for a half a load of clothes. There are better options in the area without the attitude.

This store is okay. They have another store in the heart of the French Quarter that has a lot more things than this store which you will love for their uniqueness and good pricing. I do give this store 5 stars for their friendly help! Ask them were their other store is and enjoy!

Great little kidney Laundry Mat paired with an antique and local artist store. The place has a wonderful charm split between those looking for that unique piece of New Orleans and who just need an old style laundry mat. The owner was great to talk to and made some great recommendations for lunch. He even gave us a warning about the storm coming in which will unfortunately cut our trip short. If you looking for that special place to see, shop, or wash your vacation laundry, this could be your stop!

$29 for wash and fold of bed spread and shams. Reek of dryer sheets which I am allergic to. Called and they just said they cant help how the dryers smell. Will not re-wash or refund. Very unpleasant about it all.

Came 80 minutes before closing and were refused service. Even though posted notice says that wash should be started 75 minutes before closing.

Very good experience. It is cash only for self service. There is a card machine for laundry cards, so you dont need quarters. Machine accepts $1 and $5 bills, maybe 10s and 20s. The person at the desk can break a 20 if you only want $6 worth of laundry, $3.50 wash and $2.50 drier. Reasonably priced laundry. Cokes available from attendant.

Machines work well, in a couple months, weve lost over $20 in the machines. But the ppl are friendly, will always help with the machines, and the store side of it is always being updated with new items.

Culture, history, and laundry? Its all here.I spent a week staying in CBD and found this place to do some laundry. Its convenient to the streetcar line and certainly adequate as a laundromat. But its claim to fame is as the birthplace of Rock and Roll! It used to be the recording studio where Rock & Roll was born. The new owners have plans to add a museum and recording studio to the space. Definitely worth a visit if you have dirty laundry. Also of note is that its a few doors away from Tennessee Williams house.
