The hotel was nice, clean, and newly renovated. The only reason I am ranking a 4 and not a 5 - we had an unexpected fire drill during our stay, which I understand is out of the hotel’s control. They handled the situation as best as they could, but it was a little over an hour we were stuck outside. The staff were all very kind and attentive.

New age hotel. Our door wouldnt close all the way we had to slam it to make sure it was closed. But other than that it was a fine place to stay. Its about 5-6 blocks from Bourbon street (which now sucks). You may want to stay in the French quarter off Frenchman street. Frenchman is so much nicer than Bourbon due to the recent violence there.

When we first checked we were given a room with one bed, when reservations stated two queen beds(fixed). Then we stayed a week and no hot water the whole time, cleaning lady tried to walk right in our room without knocking period! Are view out the windows we’re looking at the furnace!! I stayed at this hotel in 2019, it was fairly new then and very nice with great staff. Came back to NOLA this month, it was a total 180 degree difference. First, the night desk clerk let someone check in over the phone on my reservation, so my room was given away but MY credit card charged. So they put us in another room that was DIRTY, then put us in another room that was slightly cleaner than the previous room. The chair in the room was so dingy no one would sit on it. The white sheets are dingy, the floors werent very clean, marks everywhere on the walls, etc. This hotel has lost its luster and needs a face lift. I was then charged 2 more times for the room and the charges were for the same person who was given my original room. The manager never reached out personally. The second desk clerk finally fixed the issue. It made the trip stressful when it shouldnt have. I wont be staying here again.

I had the most amazing stay here. The room was spacious and CLEAN. It was so peaceful, far away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk. The customer service here was very exceptional, especially Pam. Even though some things were limited due to COVID it was still a great experience. The staff there were very understanding and accommodating, we asked for a later check out and they gave us an extra hour without charge. Then we changed our minds and checked out on time, our bags were stored for us until we got back. As long as management stays the same, The Jung Hotel and Residence have a customer for life!

Theres no microwaves in the rooms and we were told the only microwave was on the second floor (we were housed on the 3rd floor. There was a refrigerator in the room but it didnt work. The AC unit only worked on one side of the room and we had to ask for extra towels on a three day stay (we were given 2 sets only). Thankfully one guy that worked there tried his best to be helpful. Oh yeah, no room service in the three days we stayed. (Bedding, cleaning, etc.)

Positive: Lobby is nice. First room I was in was nice, aside from the issues leading to me needing a new room. Streetcar is right out front, but doesnt go to the French Quarter, so it was useless. Negative: Many issues in room. Switched rooms, but was downgraded to a much smaller room without all listed amenities. 2 doors on 7th floor DID NOT latch and lock. Manager promised a partial refund but didnt follow through. Security pushed my door open at 1 am.

There was a lot of loitering going on outside the hotel. People blocking the door listening to music on a Bluetooth speaker eyeballing patrons as they enter. The staff didnt seem to enthusiastic about being there themselves, so couple that with the side door people eyeballing you as you come in didnt set a good tone. I heard about how great and historical the hotel was so my wife and I were very excited to experience this on our anniversary. Unfortunately due to covid like most business the Jung hotel has suffered. None of the 4 star amenities are available or open. Restaurant and bars are all closed. While bourbon Street was alive and rocking. Didnt understand their logic. The room was nice, clean and spacious. The location is good. The Jung hotel is good as long as your just looking for a place to sleep. But if thats what your looking for. There is many other great options to choose from.

“Four Diamonds—Upscale style and amenities with the right touch of service.” I’m calling B.S. on the Four-Diamond award sitting on the front desk. I’m sitting in my hotel room now, as I write this, still in disbelief about the way I was just treated.I’ll start off by saying there are no friendly faces or welcome greetings of any kind when you walk in; only, “Are you checking in? We’ll need you card and identification.”Then, this evening, after returning to our room, I tried to purchase bottled water from the vending machine on our floor, but the vending machine was not accepting my card or cash. I called to the front desk to let them know and to ask if there was any option in the hotel for water, maybe at the front desk… I was informed there was not. The restaurant and bar are still closed due to covid, which I totally understand. I told the gentleman we’ll just get ice from the ice machine and use water from the bathroom faucet if that was the only option. But—I pull the liner out of the ice bucket and open it, and the inside of the plastic is wet! GROSS!!! I call front desk again and speak to another gentleman to make them aware because it’s just gross to think the bag was used. He tells me he understands and will get me another bag that I can come down and pick up.I go to the desk and explain to the first gentleman I spoke yo over the phone (who is also the person who checked us in), when the second gentlemen come with the bag. I give him the bag from my room so he could see what my complaint was. I ask him if there’s any other option for water to purchase somehow; I’m willing to pay for it; and he apologizes and says there isn’t, but there is a CVS a couple blocks away.I tell him I understand the restaurant and bar have to be closed because of covid, but if the vending machine is the only option for bottled/filtered water for guests, it’s disappointing a hotel of this status not to be prepare with a back up option in case the vending machine were to not work like today, and they might want to address housekeep about the ice bucket liner. Then the first gentleman tells me there are vending machines on each floor. I start to think maybe this is an option, but my room key card will only allow me on the floor my room is on. I explain this is why I’m suggesting maybe keeping some at the front desk would be a good idea, in case the only option available to the guest on a specific floor breaks down.He then dryly says, “Well, there’s a CVS a couple block down.” I said, “I just got back to the hotel. I’m not getting another Uber to leave the hotel to go get water; we’ll just drink from the bathroom faucet.” He says, “No, I mean it’s ONLY a couple blocks away.” I tell him no, I will not be leaving again and walking to go get water. He just says “ok.”I’m still taken aback by the entire situation. FIRST—the lack of concern for the wet (I’m assuming used) ice bucket liner, especially since the rest tar aunt, bar, pool and valet are not available out of concern for covid. SECOND—a boastful “Four Diamond” rated hotel not having any option for drinking water—WATER!!!—for their guests, other than one unreliable vending machine on the only floor the guests can access. THIRD—if there is bottled drinking water available in the machines on other floors of the hotel the guests cannot access, why not maybe used a master key card to help them obtain it from a different machine or someone?!? FOUR—being to walk down the street because “it’s only a couple blocks” if I prefer bottled water to the bathroom faucet water. FIVE—smile and say hello to your damn guest when they arrive. It’s common courtesy and should be common sense in the hospitality industry. Our room is spacious, updated and nicely furnished, but unfortunately that’s the only good thing I can say about this hotel because the level of customer service and hospitality I experienced was probably comparable to that of a Motel 6.

If I could give this place a 0, I would. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. They will charge your card with unauthorized charges. We arrived on Saturday, we paid the amount in full for our stay for 3 nights. The third night, I notice a extra charge on my American Express, so we call front desk, about the charge... they said it was for valet!!! Mind you, they do not even have parking, nor VALET! We uber to the hotel, so we were confused. They assured us, that the charge would be refunded, claiming it was a honest mistake, giving me some crazy excuse on how the charges had happened. I explained that was unacceptable, and I did not trust what they were saying... so then a manager comes, and said ok I will clear this up now, as we stood there. Once he was finished, he claimed he had refunded the fee, and the funds should be back in my account now, which it was not! The fee was a little over $40, so I said I will be calling my bank, in the morning. So the next day, check out day, we checked out at 5am in the morning, THEY CHARGED ME ANOTHER FEE FOR $422!!! And the lady at the front desk would not give me a printout of the charges, claiming that because we booked through a third party, they (Expedia) would have to send it... she was lying, claiming she did not charge my card again, but I was looking right at the charge on my app! So now I have over $400 unauthorized charges on my credit card. So now I have to call American Express, for a dispute... NEVER WILL I STAY THERE AGAIN!

Je
Review №39

Due to new Covid cleaning guidelines, guest rooms are only cleaned once every 3 days...completely understandable. Being that our stay was 3 days, it would have been nice/courteous/hospitable to provide extra trash can liners, ice bucket liners, (as they do tissue) etc. without having to request them. We had 2 rooms, one’s power outlets in half of the room were inoperable, both were without tv service during the entire stay. When we inquired about the aforementioned, we were simply told, “It’s not our fault, it’s due to the storm (which took place over a week a go). I’m ok with that it was resulted from the storm, but the fact that we HAD TO ASK was the issue. There could have been a pre-warning i.e., signage notifying us as such, or simply being verbally informed during check-in. The level of front desk service has somewhat diminished; they were very nice and helpful, albeit, compared to my stays, pre-Covid, were disappointing. Everyone (that we encountered) now sits behind the desk with cell phone in hand, instead of standing and being present as before. To say the least, the typical standards I enjoyed and appreciated have “fizzled out”. There is no longer valet service, due to rainy/weather conditions that lead to flooding. So the hotel is installed flood barriers/walls where valet service was previously stationed, to prevent flooding in the hotel.

I stayed in cheap motels all week that were better than my experience at the Jung. The building is beautiful and Id really been looking forward to my stay - I saved up for this special treat. I booked an Executive King Suite. At check in, the hotel room was lovely but there was a very loud noise coming from a vent. It was so loud that my spouse and I could barely hear each other talk, and phone calls were pretty much impossible. After verifying that it wasnt the A/C unit and therefore not something we could do anything about, we let staff know and we were able to get a different room. Our new room was significantly smaller and missing several amenities promised by the room description. Our view also changed from a nice view to a parking garage. While moving rooms, we noticed that the door to our previous room never actually latched closed even when it looked like it did. We were able to simply push the door open. We stayed in the smaller room because moving several times isnt ideal, but we let the staff know that we were unhappy. On our last night, our key card stopped working. Staff fixed it but didnt know why it could have happened. Also on our last night, at 1 am, someone pushed our door open and then knocked on it. When I went out to the hall, it appeared to be a security person who had done it. He turned around and started walking back toward me, saying my door wasnt completely closed. So, thats two doors on the 7th floor that dont close all the way. At checkout, we spoke with the manager about our issues. She claimed that every room on the 7th floor has the loud vent, which clearly wasnt true because we were moved to one without the noise. She offered us a refund on our first night stay, but she was lying. It is now five days later and she has refused the refund. She also didnt seem to care about the safety issue on the 7th floor regarding doors not properly latching shut and locking. The website claims that the streetcar out front can take you to various places like the French Quarter, but it does not, so the location isnt convenient at all. I ended up spending a lot of money on Uber and Lyft to get anywhere. Im really disappointed because I dont think my issues were me being picky, and having one night refunded doesnt seem like too much considering she at least admitted to the noise and that we were moved to a much smaller room. Not to mention she offered that refund without any intent to follow through, which is terrible.

I have no idea what to say about this hotel. I just checked out of the Jung Hotel yesterday and from start to finish, our stay was nothing short of amazing. When we arrived at the hotel that morning, we were greeted by Erica who was so friendly towards us. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome, so much so that I mentioned I liked the pin she was wearing on her lapel and before we finished checking-in she went and grabbed us 2 of them! The hotel itself is gorgeous with a comfortable bed and a phenomenal bathroom (for the girls like me who like to do their makeup, the mirrors and lighting were out of this world). And the complimentary waters were a bonus for the nights we went a little too hard on bourbon st. The location might be a little far for some who want to be closer to the action. But, it was perfect for us because youre close enough to it that its only about a 10 minute walk, but far enough from it that you dont get the noise, smells, and overall rowdiness that comes from being right in the French Quarter. They also hold your bags for you so that you dont have to pay the fee for late checkout. Since checkout is at 12, and our flight wasnt until 7:30, we just checked out and gave our bags to the young man named Brandon and he stored them until we came back. This hotel gave us such a great experience for our first trip to NOLA and we already cannot wait to come back. Thank you to Erica, Brandon, and the entire staff at the hotel for giving us such a wonderful home away from home on our vacation!
