Do not buy a car here. Brand new Volvo has MULTIPLE technology and safety issues - dealership will not offer any resolution. Within 48 hours of buying the car I discovered multiple issues with the vehicle which I reported in writing, in phone and in person conversation... I had to insist on the owner getting involved for the dealership to even offer service. The service tech said the car is IRREPARABLE and cannot be used as intended. The dealership has offered me no resolution except for me to buy my old car back meaning pay them more money. The other solution is to put me in next years model but they cannot provide me a timeline and will not tell me if they, again, expect me to pay more money. Disgusting and UNETHICAL. A brand new car should work.

Stay away! I will never take my car to Secor Volvo for service or warranty repairs again. The master technician is excellent, the part’s department guys are fantastic, and the sales department is low pressure with helpful and informed staff. However, for repairs or warranty work you will be infinitely happier driving to New Haven or Hartford for a Volvo dealer or using one of the independent Volvo shops in Groton or East Lyme. Trust me on this. It’s really a shame actually because it is all the fault of one man- the service manager. He is an old school dealership type. You know what I mean, right? No, not what his bio says about being a lifelong auto enthusiast, blah blah blah. I get it, as a service manager he is there to ensure the dealer makes money, but I cannot abide dishonesty and he is a crook who will weasel, lie to your face, and work behind your back against your interests with Volvo corporate. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at the alternatives and nothing but trouble with Secor. Stay Away!

Was very dissapointed in my experience here. The service manager has very poor cutomer service skills. I was qupted $100 cheaper for a tire elsewhere, and was willing to pay more for volvo to do it as a trust them, but he was sour the whole time. Finally he agreed to knock $40 off and I said fine just doit. Turns out he just quoted me the non tax price and it was back to the original price when I showed up the next day to pick it up, and I had no real choice but to pay. Not sure if he purposelly misled me, but will definitely not be returning. Additionally they were going to see what they could do on a scratch on the side and ignored it completely
We recently required auto body repair following an encounter with a granite post and the rear back panel of our Impreza. This was relatively minor, but replacing the panel would have been costly. We got a quick assessment and were advised of our options which included repositioning the panel into place and a touch-up on the paint. We chose this option and the work was excellent and the bill fairly painless. The staff and technicians were professional, and friendly. Another positive experience with Secors autobody shop. Thanks!
I’m completely disappointed with their service, towed my car on a Monday and I had to wait a week to heard from them to tell me : “ We have bad news Julio, to fix you 2005 S40 will cost you $4400.00, We recommend you Junk that car and see us on our Sales Department to buy a new one” Just to find out my car is ready to junk it they charge me $528.00” NEVER AGAIN VOLVO, this one was the last time you screwed me up.
This dealership, particularly John and Diane, provided an outstanding buying experience. John was very helpful in locating a vehicle that met our needs and were very fair and direct with price and trade in. They were prompt in dealing with a late complication from the lender and, Diane was very thorough and patient in explaining all of the features of our new vehicle and we felt no pressure at any point during the process. We have purchased many vehicles over the years with both good and bad experiences and this dealership is right at the top.

When shopping for a “new to you” CPO car principally online you have to have trust. Trust that their website’s description of the car is accurate and has actual photos of the vehicle. Trust that when negotiating a purchase price that you are being told honest statements. Trust that finance rates are accurate. Trust when arriving from a distance to purchase and pickup the car that the dealer isn’t engaged in a bait and switch tactic. With our recent experience at Secor Volvo all aspects of trust played out positive. The only reason for a one star reduction is that several small paint chips on the rear bumper had not be noticed in the service department’s CPO inspection and touched up prior to delivery. The salesperson Diane noticed these and arranged for touch up paint to be ordered and mailed to us. The parts department didn’t stock this paint.

Ive owned Volvo cars for quite some time and have dealt with Secor almost exclusively. After buying their cars, I followed up with their service. As with most dealerships, its not cheap. But I always got an honest assessment of what was necessary and what could wait; and they always serviced my cars correctly the first time. So, if you like Volvo cars this dealership is worth considering.
I have purchased several used vehicles over the past decade with various dealers throughout the United States. Secor provided me with an outstanding level of customer service. They made sure every aspect of the purchase process was very comfortable and made sure I didnt purchase the vehicle or leave their lot unless I was completely satisfied with the vehicle. I am a long distance first time purchaser and was treated as though I was a long time valued local customer. I had a better experience purchasing a used vehicle with Secor than I have purchasing a new vehicle from other dealerships. They were very honest and I had no surprises when I arrived at the dealership. Thank you to my sales person Erica and Manager Arnold for making this such a great experience. I was very pleased with Secor Volvo! After a very bad accident with my s 40T5 (a truck hit me on 95).,, major damage. John in the service department was constantly in touch with me and did a great job to get me back on the road. Two weeks later I had my car back. I think John convinced the insurance adjuster not to total it.Everyone was very gracious. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.P.S. they also gave me a two month free membership to subscription to Sirius radio ! I love Volvos!

From the very first conversations with general manager Bob Doyle, where we determined the right fit for my situation (leasing vs. buying newer with payments vs. buyer older with cash) all the way through the final conversations with experienced salesman Steve Plona, who personally delivered my Volvo and thoroughly walked me through all the bells and whistles before leaving with my trade-in, I can not be more satisfied with the service at Secor. Bob really listened and understood my current financial situation and helped me to weigh out the pros/cons of my decision without being pushy. He truly wants you to be comfortable in your decision and it is obvious that his goal is for every customer to drive away happy. Steve was super-responsive, answering all my questions, and he made it effortless to walk through all the final paperwork. My Volvo broke down in the middle of a snowstorm and I barely made it to Secor (not where I bought it from). The staff who were still there were wonderfully supportive, giving me instructions to leave for the service department in the morning. Though the news the next day was awful, Nick from service was very patient and explained all my options, empathetic to my plight. I just picked up my car, and so fsr, its running very smooth, as if nothing had happened. Very good experience and communication for such a bad scenario.

I have patronized this business on two separate occasions over the past year. Both times the shop was prompt, professional, honest, courteous and went the extra mile for me. On my second visit last week, I needed repair or replacement of the front quarter panel of my Subaru SUV. I anticipated a repair bill to be in the hundreds. The staff evaluated the situation and determined they would fix it for free. WHEN DOES THAT EVER HAPPEN IN LIFE?? My damaged car came out of the shop in about 30 minutes looking brand new. I am so grateful. I will not hesitate to bring my cars here again in the future. Thank you Anthony and staff. I cant imagine that ever happening again - with any other business.A completely satisfied and grateful customer.
My 25-year-old daughter was on a quest to get into a smaller SUV and took a liking to the Volvo XC40. It was apparent that Volvo introduced this sporty new design to attract the younger generation. As a Dad helping in her quest and having experience of many new vehicle purchases over the years, we agreed to pursue this choice even though it would be a bit of a reach for her financially.I steered this purchase toward a new 2019 leftover model, with 2020s already on Dealer lots, to get her numbers closer to the maximum budget. However, she was only focused on the extremely appealing R-Design, being a more pricey Trim level. With her based in western CT, we knew inventory would be limited for a desired Black Stone color. Our search took us to Volvo Dealer Inventories in CT, MA, RI NH & ME with differing MSRP variations.Due to the vast locations of choices, we needed to communicate through the Internet to get pricing to meet our needs. Although everyone was quick to respond with a great range of discount figures, some were obviously not as competitive.Fast forward - Secor Auto Group - Volvo was one of the remaining 4 Dealers who was willing to work with us. Our initial Internet Sales contact was Rob Dupont. He listened carefully to our needs. His prompt communication, along with answering the phone each and every time we called, was beyond expectation. Robs liaison skills were insurmountable as he had to go back and forth to confer with his Sales Manager - Frank Foley numerous times to tweak some critical numbers. My daughter and I felt guilty bothering Rob so much, but he never sounded to be disturbed by us interrupting his busy day with other customers. With great promise here at Secor Volvo, we placed the other anxious Dealers on hold while Rob also worked with the Finance Manager - Anthony Gonci to see what interest rates would be available once the actual credit application was put in motion. This was a key factor as well to stay within budget. We worked out a final number that my daughter would be comfortable with and everything was a go at this point.So, of all days to make a vehicle purchase, we headed over to New London CT the day before Thanksgiving to finalize the purchase, whereas others were out purchasing Turkeys for the next day. Rob greeted us once we arrived and assigned Steve Matters - Sales Professional to help us with the vehicle delivery aspects. Soon we sat with Anthony to complete the Financing paperwork. He did a great job upselling us on a wheel protection package (lol), but was able to keep us within a reasonable budget at the same time, so it was much appreciated. Afterward, Steve was instrumental to give my daughter some pointers and pair up her phone immediately. He did an awesome job! During this time, Frank Foley had been ill while setting aside some time to make things happen with this purchase process, so we want to express our thanks in the absence of meeting with him.I have purchased many new vehicles in my day and have worked with some pleasurable people at Dealerships. I went in for a routine check up and they drove me home and then dropped off my car when they were done. Having an infant with me, this was amazing! It made a huge impression that they would go out of their way to do something nice for their customer. You could tell they are just genuinely nice.When I went to lease a new car, the process was incredibly easy. The sales team is not pushy at all and did a nice job helping me weigh the pros and cons of the models they have. Drove down from 3 hours to test drive a used car wouldn’t even open the door to view the interior, sad to say the manager at Volvo is unequalified for this position, In this day an age customer service is key. Will do business elsewhere. Also, the dealership is in need of remodeling how would Volvo accept this level of quality.

I have never dealt with a car dealer that I liked, let alone loved. They did not lie, mis-communicate, misrepresent or try to confuse me or change anything last minute. They were very straightforward and honest. They were willing to negotiate and do what they could to make me happy. I would definitely buy a car from them again even though they are over an hour away from me. Dont waster your time with any other dealer that offers the makes they have.
Secor has serviced 3 of my Volvos over more than 20 years. They are competent at diagnosing problems with my car, repairs are done in a timely manner, and the service staff and mechanics are helpful and courteous. I have always been satisfied with the work done.

They say they will guarantee parts and labor; but when an after-market part (their suggestion, by the way) failed, they said they would still have to charge me for labor because it was not a Volvo part. That guarantee of parts and labor apparently has a footnote attached. Ive been going elsewhere.

Everyone we came in contact with was friendly and willing to go above and beyond. Even though this was our first time here and we are from out of the area they made it clear we were important to them. They kept on touch when our service took longer than expected, did everything we expected, and saved my 12 year old! She had gotten dirty fingerprints all over the light colored visor. I asked them if the could clean it (and she was supposed to pay for it). They went out of their way to not only clean the spots she made, but cleaned the adhesive another dealer had gotten on it as well (and the other dealer told us that they didnt do it and it couldnt be cleaned). Then they didnt charge us for the cleaning. We will be making the 3 hour drive to return here for service whenever possible.

I love this car, it is exactly what we were looking for, and I am very happy with how Secor handled the repair. Diane Gebhard was our sales person and she worked diligently with Arnold Eininger to find us just the right car. Stephen Plona graciously helped me set up the new Sirius radio system. A big thanks to your parts manager, who refused to help me find a part number on a Volvo part, after having spent thousand repairing our volvo at your business. All he did was quote me the price, put me on hold so he could talk about a restaurant with a co-worker, then came back to tell me about how the part would be warranted for 2 years. To quote him Im not doing any work just so you can go buy it elsewhere Rich Perritt, Secor Volvo parts manager. I contacted Steingold Volvo who helped me without hesitation.

I could not be happier with the work done by Secor Auto Body. A deer hit my brand-new Subaru Impreza on Friday October 17th and damaged the drivers side fender and bumper. I brought the car in to Secor on Monday the 20th, and by Friday the 24th, I had my car back in my driveway, good as new! The repairs were flawless, and the auto body team even cleaned my interior. This was my first time dealing with this sort of thing, and Anthony, the body shop manager, was incredibly helpful in navigating the insurance company.I am thrilled with the service and consideration demonstrated by Secor Auto Body.
