Elite auto sounds has top notch customer service and great installation services. I had went to them about two years ago requesting to put subwoofers in my truck and they delivered. The work was so good that when it came time to upgrade the radio I chose them. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. I wouldn’t go anywhere but Elite.

I recently went from a sedan to an SUV. My first 90 degree day I realized that the larger side windows and windshield created a heat issue in the front seats. I researched local companies and saw the great reviews for Elite. I went in and asked for legal tent for the front windows. After demonstrating the ceramic film I was sold on doing both sides tinted and clear on the windshield. The install looks amazing and has reduced the heat in the front tremendously. All for a very reasonable price. If you want a local company that does a great job look no further!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & TOTAL WASTE OF TIME!After calling last week to inquire about having a rear-view camera I already had, installed in my 1989 GMC pickup. We discussed the price and appointment day & time, I was given a 10am appointment for a installation price of $162 for 2 hours labor.I show up today at the appointed time and the person working says he has no record of my appointment and tells me that He would get to it for over $260. We agreed upon a price of a little over $164 just to run the wiring to the camera and the power wire to the monitor location.After sitting around waiting for over 30 minutes with nothing happening to my truck, and considering the bad feelings that were generated by the interaction with the person working the counter, I decided to grab my keys off the wall hook and get the hell out of there.If I could give a negative star rating I would!

I had a sound system upgrade completed at Elite Auto Sounds approximately 20 months ago. Absolute great sound! Just recently, I experienced a component failure. Shane replaced the component, and tuned the sound system - no hassle, no charge. Huge thanks to Elite Auto Sounds for exceptional customer service.

I really like the people that work here. However, the ownership, Joel Mattix, can stand to be a little more customer focused. Elite did an install for me a couple years ago on a boat. It was obvious they were very new to the marine world with some of the connections etc. I had to take to another installer for connections to be more sound. This next time I wanted to give them another shot bc of being local and thinking they weren’t new to the game and I knew what to ask. Shame on me. I wanted new tower speakers, amp, and zone control. That’s it. I peppered Joel about this and seemed to understand my ask. I still wasn’t sure of his answers after a night of thinking about it so I went back the next day to ask. Joel wasn’t there but one of his employees reiterated what Joel stated. So, a few days later they do the install. Right away I complain to Joel’s brother (Joel isn’t there again) that I wanted zone control. They install a turn dial that only controls the tower speakers through the interior speakers. Meaning, If a surfer wants to be blasted with music, everyone gets blasted at the tower speakers volume. No!!! To top off, they tore the boat seat, didn’t tell me about it, and made me go to them about it. Finally, boats are a wet environment right? Even in areas such as compartments. So, connections are usually placed with shrink tubes to protect it. Nope, connections are crimped but openly exposed.Then, to top it all off, took the boat on first voyage with new speakers. One fell. My tower requires specific fittings from the manufacturer. Elite Audio fabricated their own even after Joel told his brother there were specific parts needed.Joel after many attempts that were not pleasant finally called me back. Please note, I have document emails and calls to, before this finally came about. But, Joel agreed to getting the seat fixed, tower speaker fixed, and a special deal on a new head unit with zone control. That was March 23. I was told to go ahead get the speaker fixed and seat fixed now, but the head unit would take a couple weeks to come in. So, they immediately fixed the speaker. His upholster is 2 months behind.I give Joel 3 weeks. I then begin my quest to find out status (he said call in two weeks) for the head unit, and also leave messages asking about different upholstery shops. No response from Joel, none of his employees supposedly have answers. So, here we are today. Where is Joel?

Cheap affordable work, poor install and wouldnt recommend after getting recommend. Anywhere from the ground wires poorly installed... distribution block is electrical taped..loose unsecured amp...extreme distortion to point where my system will be hurt.

This place is so awesome! I was nervous to think they just want my money. They explained what is best with my 2018. Tacoma, and their recommendation was seller! I am going to save and buy the back speakers next. This company I will use again!!!! Dont make that mistake and use anyone else!

This is the worst shop ever. I had the great opportunity to meet Fred F. What a piece of work. I had a transfer done on a brand new 2020 Ford that took from 10:00 am until 6:15 pm. When I started the truck the air conditioning did not work and the light would not come on. When I brought it to this Fred characters attention he said that they did everything like they should and I would need to take the truck back to Ford. What a crock!!!! Once I mentioned getting compensated for the expense that this would take Fred became vary verbal abusive and came at me in a vary threatening manner. When I said I would be calling Smart Start Fred told me to GO AHEAD BECAUSE SMART START IS OWNED BY THREE JUDGES AND THEY AND HE WERE GOING TO GET ALL OF MY MONEY ONE WAY OR ANOTHER (exact words). I told Fred F. he was a pour business man at which time he called me a drunk and said it was not his fault I was on probation and had a DWI. I was then told to get in my Fu------ truck and get out of his shop. This guy is a piece of work and should not be in business. Any one who reads this and has gone through the same thing with Fred I would encourage calling or emailing smart start to get this business licences pulled. This is no way to treat the public!!!!!!! I give this business a -5 stars.The incident that took place was handled in a very professional manner by the owner and the individual no longer works for the company. I give the owners a 5 star for the way the situation was handled.Chris

I have been going to Joel and his team for over 15 years for my audio and window tint needs. I have been very pleased with every install. My latest audio upgrade, on my 2019 Tundra, is over the top ! The installation was completely impressive!! When I picked up my vehicle, it was cleaner than it was before I dropped it off. Also, a great installation can be seen by not seeing anything at all! I couldnt even tell anything was upgraded due to keeping my factory head unit. The truck looked just like it did the day I bought it. I decided to go with Focal and Audio control and all I can say is ...wow ! The system that Joel and his team helped me pick out and install is the best system I have ever heard. Elite installed an after-market satellite radio in my MB SUV. They performed professionally, on time and at the agreed upon price. When the initial location of the antenna that we both agreed on proved to be less than effective, they took the vehicle back with no questions asked, relocated the antenna so that it now works perfectly and returned to me quickly and without additional charge. I would highly recommend them for any of their services.

Outstanding work, great folks. They were able to salvage backup sensors when no one else could! They were able to salvage my backup camera when others might not be able to - but at an up charge if they could!!!Beautiful work, and did more than we agreed on!! Refreshing to work with a company that values their reputation enough to take the extra steps in working with customers !!

Finally posting some long overdue reviews. Had a terrible experience with Best Buy and swore them off. Wanted to support local business anyways and I found Elite. Joel and his team were phenomenal. They ordered and installed a back up camera, remote start, viper anti-theft and Sony flatscreen that had apple CarPlay and still let me use my factory steering wheel controls. A week from order to installation and just a bit of fine tuning. Great business!

I went to this shop a month ago. My husband did all the work for me to just drop off the car for a camera install. Since they didnt know he got price adjustments and quotes for me to simply drop off they quoted him 80$ time (their excuse is communication issues ) from what his was quoted 80$ an hour, because I was a woman (who didnt know better) even though I had a feeling and brought my husband along. They wanted to charge me 150$ an hour service. They got caught and tried to apologize. I didnt have it. Dont fall for their scams. You can get a better deal elsewhere. After they were caught they tried to back peddle. From when I walked in the service was horrible. Didnt act professional at all and only said hi. I had to ask for the cameras they wanted to quote me and didnt even know the difference between the two when I inquire on why there was a price jump. I had to ask to physically hold the cameras to find out myself what the difference was. Until my husband intervened Elite auto sound and told them what was right. Elite auto ...dont respond like you care, you were caught. I dont want any discount offerings. Youre fake. If I could not give you just one star, I would.

I was about to drop $2k to $3k on an install but the manager turned me away because he wanted me to use the wire they sell there, which is overpriced at $350, instead of my wire I bought (Sky High Car Audio) 100% OFC. Oh well, Ill just take my business elsewhere.

The guys over at Elite Auto Sounds hooked me up with a brand new stereo for my girlfriend`s car. They were super informative and made sure I was going to get the best bang for my buck. The installation didnt take long at all and they even took the time out after to show me how to connect everything to android auto so I could use my phone with it. Havent gotten my unit installed yet, they had to order a bezel for my jeep. So far the experience has been excellent.Update: got the stereo installed and it is awesome. The guys at Elite Auto Sounds took great care of me and my Jeep. They even took the time to show me the operation of the stereo and how to operate everything. Ive had it for a couple months now and have no complaints about any of it. I will be going back soon to talk about subs and amps, just have to decide if I care about the backseat or not.

Great experience with Elite; Friendly, Knowledgeable and very Professional. They replaced my Tundra factory radio with a new upgraded Double Din Pioneer Radio system with backup camera and hard wire my radar detector- very cool! High quality work and very helpful staff. Joel helped me out with this new system and I really like the look and sound! I will be back for more upgrades to my truck. I would recommend them to ALL!

Okay for what they do.

I had my windows tinted here and they did an outstanding job. My car looks like a whole new video. I opted to upgrade the tint on the sunroof to an infrared protectant film and just from that small piece of glass alone I can feel a difference. Ill be back soon to have them put the infrared film on my windshield. Im glad I came to get my windows tinted here since they offer a full lifetime warranty(that will even cover fading during the life of the car) and I wasnt bombarded with a whole bunch of extra fees that Ive heard other shops do. I recommend this shop over any others.

I have never heard or had a clearer, harder hitting stereo system setup than the one Elite Audio installed in my truck. Top of the line audio components and installation!! I was, and still am, EXTREMELY impressed. I liked their products and service so much that I came back and had my truck and my wifes minivan tinted there. Im simple when it comes to home audio & visual setups, but I was blown away to learn that they also do home audio/visual component sales and installation too, along with the quality of the experience I witnessed being produced in their demo room. You will definitely find that Best Buys car audio division, or your normal car audio place, BORING compared to Elite Audios. Dont understand the bad reviews. Overall Joel and his brother have gone above and beyond along with their team. I have a million + questions everytime I do an install on my vehicles. I am about to do my second install with these guys because of their quality of work and knowledge.I have stopped at over 8 shops in the austin to san antonio markets and these guys by far have been the most informed and honest guys. As for price their equipment matched up with all their competitors and instead of selling just the higher priced versions they give the knowledge for you to make a decision depending on budget. On my first car they went as far to install equipment that I bought partially from them and partially on my own.Realize other shops can and will bid low, but many times they will use inferior product. The owners will not do this as they value craftmanslike workmanship. That said thanks for being an upfront and honest business that I will rave to other friends about the work you do.

Great work! They took a wiring mess from previous owner of my classic mustang, and Got my Alpine, and all new interior speakers set up clean! They were good communicating through the whole thing too!

Took my WRX STI in, just 2 days ago, to get a new head unit and some interior footwell lights installed. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The only thing that didnt warrant a 5-star review was the lack of variety of head units in stock (although they could have ordered it) and they took a day longer than audio outlets in San Marcos quoted me.

The owner has always been able to help me out with all of my problems, including my inability to wire a stereo. And every time there is a factory defect I have NEVER had a problem getting things warrantied out. The window tinting is perfect on all four vehicles of mine that they have tended. I trust them with every vehicle I have had.

Just got my windows tinted on my 2014 ford focus. Great quality and awsome people.

I had them install a very cool remote start system in my wifes Lincoln Navigator. I didnt know what was out there, so I asked Joel to come up with the best solution. He came back with a state of the art remote start system that controls a bunch of functions of the Navigator and at a price I thought was more than fair. They were able to deliver on every promise. When they would get it in, when they could install it, how long it would take and it even has a warranty. It all works perfect and My wife is ecstatic! (it was her christmas gift) Now will not have to put our kids or herself in a scorching hot or freezing cold car ever again. Thanks to the Mattix crew and their staff. Top quality work and service.

Horrible service, lies, run around, poor craftsmanship, ridiculous prices!Took a while to write this but every time I pass their New Braunfels location I get flashbacks of the terrible service I had.I brought an f150 aftermarket double din kit bezel and a tablet slider kit and asked if they could modify it and integrate them to be one seamless piece... sure no problem i was told...1 maybe 2 days and $75. Sounds great. I show up and their fabricator literally glued them together.... I could hv done a better job with a butter knife and hot glue in the dark.Im less than pleased and say no... this isnt what I asked for. He says ok, but will take a little longer. 2 months later and it still wasnt complete. Any time I called he was out or the boss was out... until finally I find out the guy quit or was fired (good) ...but where does that leave my parts??New guy from another location comes in... tell him what Ive been waiting for and 2 weeks later its done... looks good but now they want $350 for it?? What?! I was never told about a price increase... especially after waiting for something that should have taken 3 days tops, for 4 months now! I generously offered to pay $150 max and they agree. But when I get the part... the bondo or filler... what ever used to shape the product was cracked and pulling away from the bezel...i go back.. they take pictures and say someone will call... NOTHING. So I say screw them. I fill the crack with super glue, sand and paint it my self and forget these jokers!Never will i go back there to grab my ankles again. Anyone who asks or thinks about it...I will hands down say NEVER go there... Im surprised theyre still evenin business.

Don’t walk RUN from this place. They overcharge and do not allow returns on brand new products. Terrible service, terrible experience. This is by far the worst audio shop I have EVER encountered.If you are going to this place you are paying way to much! Do your homework you are getting poked!

Elite auto and sound are the best around i went to many places before and didnt work with any of them because they didnt know what they were talking about and they had an horrible rep. But then i found elite auto and sound and after going over everything i choosed them because they were easy to work with and reliable and i couldnt be happier with the outcome thanks joel and nathan for making my experience great!

Havent done an after market stereo system in my vehicle in 30 years. Back when an Orion 225 would pump a set of subwoofers and make everyone drool. Alpine, Rockford Fosgate, Kenwood equipment. Joel told me that was old school. I just smiled, but he knew exactly what I was looking for. Daughter and I are EXTREMELY happy with his work and installation. I would definitely recommend them for your car stereo system.

Along with the new radio head, they installed a remote start and alarm in my vehicle. I absolutely LOVE my new stereo. Its awesome!!!! It has a navigation system, ability to play DVDs (which is awesome when having to wait in the line for over an hour to pick up our son from school... it entertains our toddler), Sirius radio, Bluetooth that picks up my phone automatically starts to play music from my phone. Oh, and I have a remote control that goes to it! How cool is that, right?!?! On to my alarm... I have a key fob that lets me know when my doors are secure or not. I absolutely love the fact that I have an alarm now especially after never having one. I cant forget about my remote start!! Thank goodness for this invention!!! Everyone in Texas knows how hot is gets in the summer! Being able to start my car for 15 minutes from my key fob for it to cool off before getting in is awesome! Its going to be awesome being able to heat the car during the winter time as well.I could go on and on about every detail and what I love about the work that was done to my car but Im not. Just know Joel and his team are very professional and knowledgeable at their expertise. This shop has something a lot of shops dont and thats integrity! They will not try to overcharge or take advantage of their customers and I love that! They definitely aim to please each and every one of their customers. Ive gone to the shop a few times for various things and each and every time Ive gone, EVERYONE Ive come into contact with has been sooooo nice, making me feel so comfortable... almost like a felling of being part of their family. I would totally recommend anyone take their vehicle here to get their stereo system, tint, alarms (and they also install those breath things for people with duis) done. Well organized and very efficient. And the craftsmenship of the boxes were top notch.

Read the GREAT reviews and drove all the way from San Antontio to get my speakers installed. I had to wait for few hrs for the installer to come which I guess got me 10$ off. But after a year the speakers are acting up. It plays on and off, with every turn on the road my speaker goes ON or OFF. I guess Overall I am dissapointed on the install.

Friendly enough folks but still dont have a good working XM install. I went here because I prepaid for an install call with my Sirius radio order. I thought I could go to Best Buy but ended up I could not go there with the install card. Came here and it took about 2 hours or so to hook in my 2010 Forester. Problem is the FM radio stations werent preset or hard wired in and they hardly come in which means I cant listen to my XM radio. Called back to a very nice young man (James) at Best Buy who is getting it set up for me. He was surprised this wasnt done from the start. So now I will have paid over $200 just to install this XM in my car. Not happy at all. Will be calling Sirius to discus this matter too.

I have a classic CORVAIR that needed window tint and a replica amfm radio with speakers to be installed. I made the appointment which had to be done on Thursday since they pull the tint guy from their other location on that day to do windshields on Thursdays. So I was told to bring my car in at 11:00 am and they would do ALL the windows including the front window. Long story short I came back and waited until 6:30 when they said it was done. Then I had to mention that they didnt do the front glass! They told me that it was too difficult to do. Of course you can do the front glass if thats what you advertise. So I ended up paying the price I was quoted for all the windows,No discount for not doing the front window! So by now Im tired. I drove the car home and then I started looking at the outside of the classic. Slivers of cut film were sticking to the paint all around the car. Next, I looked inside and they had made NO effort to clean up or vacume up left over pieces of tint? I was going to originally have them install a radio and speakers but not now. The Bulverde location is where I went. Dont go there if you want the best for your car. I am part of the Reginal Corvairs Clubs of America. Our chapter was going to highlight this company for our members if I had a good experience. We will highlight them alright. It will be a NON RECOMEND . I could go on and on about the Bulverde shop and my bad experience. Maybe the New Braunsville location is better because of the reviews I dont know. All I know is that my little CORVAIR is missing the tint on the front window and this morning I have noticed more bubbling under the film they installed Jeez. I have shown this car to others and they couldnt believe what they did. This company did say they would fix any problems with the tint that show up. Problem is, I would never put this classic, or me through that again. Oh and did I mention that after asking for estimates three different times I never received them. I finally just trusted what they said. What a mistake on me. I should know better after 68 years.

I purchased an install of a Double Din Pioneer Radio system. I asked for a few specific things in the installation process. I wanted the USB extension to be put in the Storage above the radio and I wanted the installation kit to be the brushed aluminum and not the painted plastic. I was told that would be no problem and they ordered my stuff for installation.On the the day of my installation I dropped my car off and was quoted three hours, fair enough. I was called at the three hour mark and informed my car was ready to be picked up. We got in the truck and headed to pick it up. I was called 20 mins later and informed that the steering wheel adapter was not installed, so they needed another hour.We arrived to receive the car and found that the USB extension had be located to the glove box, the install kit was a painted plastic instead of the brushed aluminum, the shifter was damaged and my vinyl dash has a cut in it at the A-Pilar, during the installation of the hands free Mic. We pointed out the issues to the installer who delivered the vehicle to us. He told us that I received the correct install kit, it obviously is not the correct one. I pointed out the damage and he said he would talk to the boss and would have him contact me. After we drove away we noticed damage to the dash trim, and it sticks out now.I now have called 6 times and stopped in 4 times to be informed that the boss is not in, they will have the boss call me. I resorted to calling the second location and reporting my issue, I was informed at that time the boss was just called and I would receive a call with-in the week. It has been two weeks now and still no word.I will be taking the car to another shop to get the correct installation kit done, or do it myself. I will have to pay to get the dash fixed, or cover it up. Ive waited over a month to make a post, just wishing I would at least get so resolve to the issues.

I bought an aftermarket stereo for my wifes car and had no idea where to take it to get it installed, did a google search and found these guys. I am so glad that I chose to Elite Auto Sounds to do the install! They are very friendly, knowledgeable about what they are doing and fast!! I didn`t have to wait long to hear and see the results. Unit looks great with no wires visible even with the microphone for phone! Sound is awsome even with my stock speakers, but plan on taking her back in to these guys for an upgrade in the near future!
