Trying to get a hand-me-down iMac set-up was taking way too much of my time stopping down to google every question about updating OS and email accounts. Decided to call CenTex, dropped the computer off at 5p and next day at 11a everything I asked to get done was done with a lot of tips and reassurance to call with ANY questions. Easy & friendly!

Took my computer in for repairs. But, sadly, it was hopeless. However I was sold a new HP at a great price. The new compute was stripped of all of the hype programming, and crazy offers you get when you usually buy a computer retail. It was a very good buy with a 1 year warranty. And, I was able to buy locally.

I called hoping that Centex Computers was still operational during this virus situation. Happy to get a cheerful response from Jeff with whom I arranged to drop off my wifes computer and discuss the problem. He had an excellent solution to the extremely slow computer and I had it back in my hands within 48 hours (mostly just waiting for a part to arrive). When she started it up at home, she was extremely pleased with the speed and performance that she had not seen in some time. Kudos to Jeff. He was the perfect guy for my issues. He struck me as very knowledgeable and extremely capable. No fear about him not being able to fix it. I would highly recommend Centex Computers for any computer issues you might be experiencing.

This laptop I brought in was five months old it didn’t even have a scratch on it I accidentally broke the screen on it brought it to him he could not get a screen for it because it was a touchscreen so I told him to take the touchscreen off so I would just have the regular screen, he said it was risky and that he could break the original screen by taking the touchscreen off and I said well I have nothing to lose because they both come as one piece anyway, if I had to purchase a new one, he not only broke the hinge in half on it but the whole laptop has dents all over it, And aesthetically without the touchscreen it looks like It smashed with a baseball bat, The unit had opened up perfectly like a brand new laptop previously, The unit was never dropped,Obviously the wrong kind of person for any screen repair

I will have to say this shop knows what it is doing when it comes to what is needed to keep your computer tech running correctly. Ive used them twice now and on each occasion they were able to promptly diagnose and let me know up front the costs to fix so that I could make a decision. Each time it led me to have them repair my tower. I will probably use them exclusively for repair as long as they continue.

I was in a real bind needing to access important documents when my laptop crashed. Jeff was very accommodating and assured me all would be good. I had my laptop back in 2 hours!!! Running! A great job and happy client!!!

Added a picture of my receipt, and replied to owner.I cant speak for his software skills, but if you need a screen replaced on a touch screen laptop, run for the hills!The level of professionalism is minimal. He asked me to order the part he needed for it. He emailed me a link, I ordered it, expedited shipping directly to his address.When he called me in to pick it up, I was beyond disappointed. He failed at putting it back together, after he connected the new screen (new screen did work). The entire touchscreen was loose from the case. He told me I could put super glue, or duct tape it. He had even thrown away some parts, and when I asked about them, he pulled them out of the trash can.I went home, watched a 20 minute youtube video on how to replace the screen on the exact same model I had, and in under an hour had taken it apart and put in back together CORRECTLY! What I found was extremely lazy work. He didnt route the wires through the proper guides, including the main cable that connects the screen to motherboard (no wonder clips wouldnt snap together). The WiFi antenna wasnt routed correctly, it was just slapped onto the back of the screen with its cable hanging loose. The camera was in backwards, and of course cable was not in its proper guide (nothing would snap together because with the loose cables the clips had excessive resistance in places it shouldnt). I was also missing some rubber grommets that cover the screw heads on the hinges. When I called him about it, he said I usually throw those away because they require adhesive.He said hed give me a call when he got back to the shop, but never heard from him...I learned the hard way that CenTex Computers wasnt the right choice, and it cost me $100.Update:Thanks for responding to my review, Owner.Jeff, you should have called me back when you said you would. Nothing I wrote was taken out of context, untrue, or exaggerated. When I came to your shop, and you pulled parts from my laptop out of your trashcan, and you told me to use super glue or duct tape as a solution, I lost all interest in your services. If I could downgrade your 1 star to negative stars I would, solely because of your response trying to downplay the poor quality of service you provided. I hope this review was worth the $108.00 you made off me.

My laptop battery was busted and still under warranty. I went with CenTex because they provided me more flexibility with my appointment and repair time than apple. I was very pleased. Very knowledgeable and fast. Highly recommend.

There should be clear communication about the cost of work before the work is done. I was told diagnostic was free and was offered to have my hard drive transferred to my own external hard drive. So I brought it in thinking it was a courtesy measure since they couldnt do anything to fix my computer, and was not told there would be a charge. But when I picked up the computer I was charged $100. They were nice about it and willing to work with me but theyre should have been clear communication to begin with.

I had to comment on a great experience getting my 7yr old laptop repaired! I thought for sure I would have to replace it, but Jeff got it running great, AND I was able to pick it up the SAME DAY! He loaded a solid anti-virus software program which is WAY better than the McAfee and Norton stuff. Hopefully good to go for another 7 !:0)

In 25 years, this is absolutely the WORST computer repair experience of my life. I brought in my Toshiba Laptop simply to get the fan replaced. I paid $125 and walked out with a broken computer, unknown to me that the volume wheel was missing. This is a BIG DEAL to me, so I thought to myself, ...no problem - just take it back and he will replace it. WRONG. He apparently lost it and told me I would just have to live without it. I was livid. He tried to make it look as if I was to blame because he had to practically pry it apart and that it was stuck shut in places. Really? It was opened 1.5 years ago for a hard drive replacement. So apparently he did a hatchet job opening it, and that is when he lost the wheel. FAST service? Six days the first time in. I DO NOT SEE HOW THIS SHOP STAYS IN BUSINESS.

My wife and I brought her laptop in with the win 7 disc and paperwork, the helper fella never introduced himself and was the only one there. I spoke with someone more experienced on the phone later and was told it will be a while before the power cable comes in. Then a few days later I called and there was an issue getting the pwr cord and the cost would be $100 to wipe it and $10 for the cord. A week later I get a call that they had to install windows 10 and the cost is now $150. My wife picked it up and the same guy again was there. Charged her just under $170. The new cord does not fit, win 10 is using 55% of the RAM, and I am going back Monday after work to get the disk we dropped off and have a talk.

So what computer repair shop that you know of that requests the customer of the following items... an external hard drive and cables. Well this one, you would think he would have it on hand as part of his repairing equipment. Then when it states clearly that the store is open on Saturday... and no one answers the phone all day?Back to the external hard drive... well it crashed and i totally contribute it to him opening it up...I had never opened the drive before and he needed to?He did offer to look at it... well I have ZERO confidence that he could fix it... so I did my own diagnostic and it had locked up.As to our sons computer: he found that the board had overheated and needing replacement.... so he only charge only the low cost evaluation fee.So in the future - if have a computer repair shop ask you to supply parts... RUN AWAY from them.
