The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had. I was running late so I called Hertz to let them know. They told me no worries, my car is reserved and it is there.We arrive and the man behind the desk wants to know why we were late to determine if our being late was worthy of his concern. He gave our car out and told me he didn’t have anything for me.He had 4 keys in his desk so I asked if there was a car I could have. He told me no. I asked why I didn’t get a call when my car was given out and he told me “I don’t hold cars and I don’t call customers “. I asked when his reservations were for, he told me 4pm. At 4:10 I asked him if I can now have my reserved car. He said “no, I have reservations “ I reminded him that he doesn’t hold cars. He then called one of his 4pm reservations to ask if she was still coming in and promised to hold the car until 5. (Even though he said he doesn’t call or hold cars). He had an issue with us the second we walked in. We paid for a reservation, we called hertz to let them know we were running late. Our car was still given out, and he chose to keep 3 cars over night for other guests who never showed, instead of giving us a car. I rent cars often, and own a company that rents cars weekly. I understand how rentals work, I understand the shortage going on now. This is not a shortage issue, this is a man who decided we are not worth his car issue.

Worst experience I ban Hertz from my thoughts for all eternity. We were driving from San Antonio to Dallas to catch a flight to Florida for family vacation.I preserved a van a month in advance only to learn the night before they had sold out of all cars leaving the area. The only option was to drive 40 minutes away to New Braunfels to rent from that site. I made the reservation online which explained the $200 deposit on all debit cards. This was the exact amount the previous rental had said so it was in the budget. Kind of steep for a one day rental but whatever. I get a ride for my entire family plus luggage make it to the Hertz location in NB and waited almost 45 minutes at the counter for the two employees to come back from God knows where. Only to be told my new deposit amount is $500 the policy has changed a week prior and they haven’t updated the online portal I should have called not reserved online. There was nothing that could be done I needed to pay the cost of rental plus a $500 deposit for a day rental! I left in tears and without my rental. The employees were just following policies which I get but they were rude and condescending. She even rolled her eyes at me when I explained we would miss our flight without a rental to get to Dallas.

Sadly the performance of the New Braunfels facility was not good. On arrival 30mins before the scheduled time we were told that there were no cars available. After telling them we had a 4hr drive to Houston to catch a plane they miraculously found one that they had to prepare for hire. Well done to them on the ground for getting a vehicle ready in a short time frame but the administrators need to get organised properly. It could have been a disaster!

If you are looking for it and cant find it, thats because its located inside the collision center. When I got there to pick up the vehicle it was filthy with huge spots that they missed when they washed it. I told the girl that rented it to me and she said oh thats because they hand wash them. She wasnt willing to have it cleaned and said it was the only one they had. The back didnt look like it had been vacuumed either. Her answer was that it had been disinfected. I prepaid for gas and when I got in it only had 3/4 of a tank.When I went to return the vehicle I had to wait for about 1/2 an hour because nobody was at the desk. When a guy finally showed up he wanted to wait on the last guy in line first because he was returning a car...and if you want a printed receipt be prepared to wait even longer.

Reserved a car the day before. Got there and was informed no car available. And that a confirmation number means nothing. Just confirming that I filled out the form. Do not book here if you need a reliable car rental.

Unbelievable... reserved two cars more than a week in advance. Showed up and told, “sorry we don’t have any cars.” I explained that I had a reservation. “Well that’s only based on ‘availability.’ Completely hung out to dry. Why bother make a reservation!?!?! Never again. Never.

Do not ever attempt to rent a car from this location. Had a reservation 6 days in advance and come time to pick up the car they call me and state they have no cars to rent me. I went to the location and as I stood there they rented a white guy a vehicle while I was standing there with no reservation and they had 4 cars in the lot waited to be rented and they would still not acknowledge me or my reservation. The girl is the absolute worst. Be warned do not attempt to rent from this location.

Take forever to answer the phone, then put me on hold for 20 minutes. They gave me a truck that had an expired license plate sticker, and no gas. Went and traded the truck and got another truck that had vomit stains in back seats, and tail light was out. Later down the road check engine light and change oil came on.

Got here 45 minutes ago and theres an unqualified individual at desk stating person that is qualified left for awhile and has no idea when hell be back and that they have no cars to rent. Great, except I had a reservation to pick up a vehicle 40 minutes ago. I doubted the reviews that were terrible which was a bad idea.

Horrible experience. I was in a accident, my insurance told me that Hertz had a car ready for me and I needed to be there before they closed. I left my job early to be there before closed, I got there and they told that they wouldn’t have anything to available for a couple days. I went back after a couples days and got a rental. I got the extra insurance for the rental rental because I work in construction and I wanted to make sure that would be covered if anything happened. The guy at the front desk to told me if I didn’t need it after a few days, I can take it off just pay 60 bucks for it. I just found today that they charged me $500 for it and told me once I agreed to the insurance, there is no taking it off.So I was lied to on multiple occasions. Never will I ever go back there.

This location is closed. I showed up here after making my reservation online, and a handwritten sign on the desk referred me to a phone number, which I called, and they delivered me a car, 2 hours late. They said I could pick up from their live oak location. You should rent from somewhere else, and I dont recommend Hertz at all at this point.

I would pay to never deal with this Hertz location again! I reserved and paid for a rental 1 month in advance. Upon arrival to pick up the rental, what we paid for was unfortunately unavailable however they could get me into a larger vehicle (pickup with 1/2 the gas mileage) for an upcharge + $200 deposit. Ended up going to the NB Avis/Budget and walked in and out in 10min with a vehicle that I had initially booked and paid for through Hertz. My business will only go to the Avis/Budget location and I WILL NEVER go back to Hertz. Avoid Hertz at all cost.And Hertz, unlike the numerous 1 star reviews recently, please refrain from responding to my review. This review is not for you to try to make a PR statement to save face, this is to inform any potential customers of how horrible it is to try to do business with your company.

Unbelievably slow service, terrible selection of cars. Never again.It took more than an hour from the time I walked in to actually leaving with the car.-only 1 person actually processing the rental agreements, which take a solid 20-30 mins each at minimum-they had to take the car offsite to check tire pressure-20 minutes later the car finally arrived, but the driver didn’t bother coming to tell me as I sat in the waiting room. Instead opting to sit behind the counter and stare at the wall.-the car was dirty inside and outside-the interior very distinctly smells like farts

The office hours state they open at 7am. Upon arriving at 7am, me and another customer Mary were greeted with a locked door. A hertz employee did not arrive for work until 7:32. Furthermore, I was leased the car that i witnessed Mary just return in front of me as i was told it was my only option unless i wanted to upgrade. Though, the hertz employee comforted me by stating that she could tell it was a good car from her computer and Mary said she took good care of it. This office is by definition a joke. Id recommend walking before you rent from this office.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. THEY DO NOT HONOR PRE-PAID RESERVATIONS -EVEN WITH CONFIRMATION NUMBERS!!!We booked directly through the Hertz website, so there is NO valid reason for this company to turn away countless people when they arrive to pick up the vehicles they previously rented.What makes matters worse is the fact that the attendant offered us a cargo van to use instead of the SUV we paid for!The icing on the cake is that we were told “No refund could be processed by Hertz.” We have to file a complaint, and go through a tedious process to try to get a refund.HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I’m calling the BBB next.

The staff was friendly and professional, the price was great, the car I rented was a dream! I even left a pair of glasses in the car and the staff had held them for me two weeks after - it saved me hundreds of dollars. My first rental car experience was really wonderful thanks to them!

Only had one woman, she was very helpful, she tried to do her best to accommodate me, only bad thing is oh not really a bad thing but I picked up my rental at a Ford Dealership, so they were close on the weekends, I dont know if that is a deal buster.

Sold me there bumper to bumper insurance policy for the rental, had accident involving 2x4 on road, hertz left me stranded and made me buy new tires and rims. Hertz now turned me into a collection agency stating that I owe them an unpaid balance of 140+ dollars after all of their other bs I had to go through to try to get reimbursed for tires and rims which I never was. Consumer beware!

This one star review is just based off of customer service. Ive rented from Hertz in San Marcos before, and the experience of renting a car was fine. This time, I called a week in advance and a lady told me at the New Braunfels location, that she had my reservation down for Monday morning at 8:30am, and to call an hour before. I tried calling the local office the entire way from San Marcos to New Braunfels (car collision place was here) and all I got was a dial tone. I get to the collision place to drop off my car and the front desk tried calling as well and just kept getting sent to the call center and no one could help. FINALLY, almost 30 minutes later, the call center said they pinged the location to come get me. I have work; that is why I called ahead and made a reservation. 30 minutes later, still no rental. The collision place is going to have to drive me to the Hertz so I can get my rental, drive back to San Marcos and get to work. Needless to say, whats the point of calling ahead multiple times if youre still not going to show up?UPDATE: I had emailed the branch manager, Jenna, and received a phone call today (the next day). I was offered a voucher for a one day rental (not ever going to use it). Excuse after excuse of why things didn’t go right on Monday. THEN, Monday the guy had told me I needed to purchase insurance so I did. Then come to find out my insurance company already covers it all. I called Monday to ask to cancel it and was told to call the manager at the San Marcos location. Called and he had already left at 3:30pm for the day. When I was talking to Jenna on Tuesday, the day after my rental, I was then told I’d need to inconveniently come back in to have the car inspected before I could cancel. When I told her that was not the process Daniel had told me on Monday from the New Braunfels location, her excuse was “oh sorry, they are new.” Now, I’m a manager myself and do training so your staff being new is not an excuse. That means they weren’t trained properly.

This is a SCAM Business !!!The clerk at the desk will try to fool you with things like your car that you pre-paid and pre-booked online is not longer available! but for a up-charge I can give you a Truck or a SUVAfter calling the Store Manager ( nobody answered the phone) and after calling the clerck other boss ( nobody answer the phone) we suggested that we will have to write a letter to the Corporate Offices at Hertz!!At that point my car that was pre-paid and booked days in advance was easily found available!!! and it was ready, clean with a full tank of gas.Unfortunately the ordeal made me late. I went to pick up the car at 7 AM so to bit the traffic, but it took almost one hour to get the little car!!!!!!!Besides imagine that there is not a single chair to sit on as you wait, imagine that there is not a single parking spot available to park your car ( the service garage and the dealership uses ALL spaces available). Waiting was most unnerving as I paid and ordered the car before-hand so not to waste time!!!Nobody wants to have to argue with the rental clerk, but at this Business is customary! I read some nasty review about this place, and none were good.THIS IS NOT A GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE. NO GOOD VALUE HERE FOR YOUR MONEY.

This place deserves 0 Stars. They do not care about their customers. I was in a car accident and thought this would be the last thing I have to worry about. The first car I have from this place have cockroaches in it. I went and traded out in San Marcos where they were supposed to save a car for me and ended up putting me in a truck that has not been cleaned or washed. They were supposed to call me the following day to put me in a car so I wouldnt be in a gas cuz alert. I still to this day have not received a call from them. I would never in my life spend money at this place or the one in San Marcos

This morning hertz was supposed to pick me up at 8:30. At 8 I called to make sure they were coming to get me. I got no answer, a busy signal and then routed to the hertz in San Marcos. At this point I had My fiancé pick me up and drive me to hertz. There was one woman working who wasnt in the office. After waiting 5 minutes for her to show we went to enterprise and they got me a car and out of there in 10 minutes

This is a horrible office. I listened to them coerce several elderly gentlemen into extra coverage they did not need. She spoke very fast, kept them confused, and explained things partially at best. I believe they are deliberately dishonest. I went through them for a State Farm claim, but I will never use this office again.

I wont be using Hertz again. I forgot to fill the car back to half a tank and they charged me about $9.99 a gallon ($79 for a little over 7 gallons). When I offered to come fill it up, they told me no. I called Enterprise to check, and they only charge $3.85 a gallon.

Terrible service. They called to confirm my reservation and when I arrived there were no cars available. The lady at the front desk was not helpful at all. Her response was that they will call when they have a car available when ever that is.

If you work I construction or any job that you get dirty do not rent from this Hertz, they will see dust and dirt as ashes and charge you a smoking fee. Picture below shows what Hertz calls ashes

I cant stand this Hertz, I always reserve my cars 24 hours in advance and when I show up at 8 they always sayok we need to wash the car first, the car is never ready, so annoying, I have to sit here and wait an hour for the whole process.

Terrible, I had the reservation confirmation, I arrived at the place and they told me: in one or two hours we have the vehicle. I came back an hour later and the answer was: there is not and we will not have all day ... AWFUL, money and lost time.
