Is it possible to give 6 stars?!? I called at 4pm with no AC to the upstairs of our house. Not only was the technician by the same day but he was knowledgeable and polite. He walked me through everything he was doing to troubleshoot our unit. In the end we needed a new outside unit. I would’ve been more than happy with the level of service at that point, but they went above and beyond. I received a call the next morning with a price quote to include military discount. Before the day was over we had the new unit installed and working. LESS THAN 24 HOURS!!!!To diagnose and replace a unit in under 24 hours is unheard of. I will recommend Thayer to everyone who asks. THANK YOU!!

My experience with Thayer Air Conditioning has been great from the start.They provided a competitive quote quickly and had answers to all my questions. Of the (5) quotes I received Thayer AC had the best warranty program by a long shot AND they had the unit in stock and ready to go with no lead time.The techs that completed the install (Issac and Ernesto) were very knowledgeable, professional, and well prepared. We came home from a trip at 8:45 at night to find that our condensate line was clogged and our house was a sticky 88. We called Thayer and spoke with Ashley who was incredibly professional and kind. She dispatched Louis who arrived at our house in a very timely manner, not only addressed and fixed our issue, but educated us to the proper maintenance steps we need to be taking to prevent this from happening again. Came for a second opinion on our AC repair and got our AC working until tomorrow when the part can be fixed. My AC decided to give out at 8:00 on a Saturday during a holiday weekend. I called Thayer Air Conditioning and the receptionist was very helpful and polite. My AC system went out and Thayer came right out, installed a new system and had my AC back up and running in 1 day. While AC was out they also provided us with a window unit to keep us comfortable at night. All Thayer techs were very professional and knowledgeable. Our heat went out during winter storm Uri. It was very cold in the house. Called them at their opening time according to their website and my call was answered quickly. I was told someone would be out soon. They were right! A repair man called me soon after and said he would be out. He showed up and assessed the issue, gave me a fair quote and then went to work. My ac decided to stop working on Friday night at 830pm…. How convenient…. Within an hour, Theyer had a technician (Trevor) at my house starting a diagnostic. Trevor was very professional, polite and answered all the questions I had before we discussed repairs and repair costs. I’d say in about 30 minutes, repairs were complete and my AC is actually running better than it was before it decided to go out on me. After signing paperwork, trevor double checked everything and made sure it was still cooling properly before his departure. Very pleasant experience from Trevor and Theyer and am grateful for such a fast response on a Friday night.

My husband and I woke up at 6:30 am this morning to a burnt rubber smell and a dead thermostat. When I called Thayer, they had Luis out to us within an hour. He quickly identified the issue and explained what he was doing every step of the way. He was informative and gave us a fair price. We joined the Preventive Maintenance service to avoid potential issues in the future; we will for sure be using Thayer for all of our future HVAC needs!

Luis and Brendan diagnosed refrigerant leak, fixed it and installed new thermostat. Now I can run AC at 78 or 80 and be comfortable.

Our compressor unit fan froze this morning due the freezing weather conditions (2/11/21) and our heating system stopped working. I called Thayer for help. The woman who answered the phone was so nice and helpful. She committed to sending help by 4:30 but said she would try to get someone to our house earlier if at all possible. At 2:00 I received a call from Chris, the service technician, telling me he was on his way and would arrive in less than 10 minutes. Chris arrived and in a short time he discovered a problem with the defrosting mechanism. Chris was able to fix the problem and our heat was restored. The repair price was fair. We highly recommend this company and will use Thayer for all of our future AC and heating needs in the future.

We had Isac come out to our Preschool! He was super nice and friendly.

Showed up quick for appointment and gave me better answers than a competitor that gave us a free stuffed dog, a vintage flashlight replica, and an enormous invoice amount. We called Thayer for a 2nd opinion before moving forward with the competitor and ended up using them instead and will continue to use Thayer.

Great responsiveness even after 5 pm on a Friday!

I wanted to take a moment to let everybody know what amazing and courteous service I received after hours from our technician James at Thayer AC. My 89 year old father had arrive at our home in NB about and hour before our AC unit went out. This was around 4:00 pm on Friday July 3rd. Not only was I worried about my elderly father but my wife is dealing with some major hot flashes, if you know what I mean ladies. So, needless to say I was feeling a bit stressed. I contacted Thayer AC, who is literally less than 2 miles from our home, at 4:30 pm and ask if they could possibly have someone out. The lady who I spoke with said they did have a tech available and that she would send him our way. After a little misunderstanding and no word from the technician for over two hours, I called back checking to see if something went wrong. I found out that the James, our tech, was help up on another job in SA. He did arrive around 8:30 but was absolutely the most humble and apologetic young man I have ever encountered in the service industry. Not only was he able to resolve the situation within a short period of time, but because he understood the situation I was in with my father, he discounted the cost of my service call because of the delay. I‘m in the risk management business and work directly with builders and contractors nationwide and it gives me great pride when I witness a company that is committed to doing things right. Customer service, in so many companies, has taken a back seat to profitability. Thank you to the owner and all the employees of Thayer AC who stand on the principle of “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. For only then can we see a real change in our lives, businesses, and our world.

We had Chris from Thayer Air Conditioning come and check our AC unit today. The moment Chris notified us that he was here, he immediately went to work. He explained to us step by step what he saw was wrong with our unit and provided us with different financial plans after. I have used Thayer AC in New Braunfels on 3 different occasions in two different houses. I would recommend Thayer to family and friends. Thayer was responsive to my schedule and did a great job. Also, and probably most importantly Thayer was very fair in how they billed their time.

I NEVER post anything but I am compelled to do so today after working with Thayer AC at my house this week. I generally do all my own work at home. I got a new furnace and cooling unit 9 months ago. I knew this system STILL needed lots of work including tearing out and reworking the return air for the unit. I also knew it would be a craps shoot knowing who to call to get this done and DONE RIGHT. I read Thayer reviews and called them. Thayer sent out Ralph and Luis. First, I had 20 questions and they addressed every one of them. They were EXACTLY what I needed to get this HVAC system working effectively. They are very professional, knowledgeable and fun to be around. These men work very well together and they explained everything they were doing with me. Is Thayer cheap? What I had done was not cheap. Im savy about what things cost. I could have had this done for half the money, but guess what? You get what you pay for and HVAC systems are more complicated than ever. I ALREADY went the cheap route and now Im paying for it AGAIN. After all is said and done, I should have gone the more expensive route once and for all. You want things done well, call Thayer AC and Heating. They will see the project through, you will pay for it ONCE and you will be happy. HVAC systems should last 20 years if you take care of them. SPEND THE MONEY. USE THAYER. If you are lucky Ralph and Luis will show up at your door.

I just moved into a house and chose Thayer to conduct regular maintenance on my two HVAC systems. Just had my first service done and I have to say I am impressed so far. My technician was Bobby and he was excellent to work with. He pointed out a capacitor that was starting to go bad. He didn’t try to hard sell me on buying a new one, rather he should me the current performance reading vs. what it should be and gave me recommendations only from there. I ultimately decided to have a new capacitor installed on the spot and Bobby again showed me the reading of the new capacitor which gave me piece of mind. Highly recommend Thayer.

The experience of getting a new hvac system installed for my mother went so well I would highly recommend Thayer AC to anyone. Chris Thayer was very professional when he came out to do the assessment and explained everything thoroughly and in laymans terms that we could understand. He came back with a reasonable quote within a couple of days and even connected us with a finance company with reasonable rates. The two technicians came out the following Monday and got right to work to replace the inside and outside systems. I was working from home in the same area where they were replacing the inside unit and not once was I bothered with the noise on any of my business calls. They were cordial, professional, and within a few hours everything was working perfectly and there was no sign (other than new units) that they had even been there. We were nervous about such a big investment and so many AC companies to choose from, but doing research on reviews helped immensely. We made the right choice and I wanted to contribute as well. I am praising God for giving me the decrement to call Thayer for a 3rd opinion. I had two other air-conditioning companies come out who said i am fully out of freon and wanted to charge me $1500/ or I could get a new air-conditioner for $5400. and it will mean they rip up the side of my house, the second company just said I need a new unit and it was going to be $4900. Chris with Thayer came out and within minutes let me know the compressor switch was turned off, which is what controls the cold air, as soon as he turned it back on, I had cold air. Chris was very professional and honest and I so appreciated that! Shame on those other two, who are also in the top rating listing, so beware. I have 2 houses and a business and Thayer will be getting my business every time! Thank you Thayer especially in a time of Covid where I as a wedding venue have to be very careful right now.

All said and done, the problem was repaired, he explained and showed me everything, answered all my questions, and it’s cool In my house again!

Bobby Cook was awesome. He listened to my questions and concerns and explained everything to me. He showed me the readings and showed the faults on the air handler installed by another company. Determined lines in attic were not insulated by other company and was the reason for the leaks that are damaging my ceiling. If the installer doesnt fix under his 5 year warranty I will definitely be calling Thayer back out and requesting Mr. Cook. Thanks so much for awesomeness.

Update 9/20: After a very positive first experience with Thayer over a year ago, I was disappointed when I contacted them again recently for a quote on another job. They came out to provide an estimate, but never gave one. I called 3 times to check-in over the next couple weeks, but it was always the same response; nothing yet, they’ll get back to me. Never did. They seem to have gone the same way as the other local service providers and moved away from what set them apart. Adjusting the review to reflect an average rating: good work, but no better service than other service providers around.———————-original review——————-Needed to replace ducts in my house and add some AC equipment. Had all the big names in town out for estimates. Glad I ended up with Thayer. Communication was outstanding, the work was done (and done well!) and the price was reasonable. I’ve had to chase down too many contractors to get jobs finished, but not these guys. Solid choice if you need something done!

First off, Thayer came out to look at our unit and charged us $10 more than two other AC businesses I contacted (I found that out after the fact). Second, they were going to charge me $547 to inject dye plus add refrigerant to the unit THEN said theyd come out two days later to see where the leak was. That wouldve been on top of any necessary repairs. They were going to charge me twice as much as anyone else for refrigerant that was going to possibly leak out in two days...Third, Im all for employees being on time and maybe even a few minutes early. I was told we would be contacted when they were on the way. I just happened to be home when they arrived two hours before allotted time, without a phone call. I almost did not let them in since I do not allow solicitors. Thankfully, I found another reputable local business to use, therefore, saving me hundreds of dollars, and our AC is working.

Office staff has been very nice every time I called and answered my questions without any problem. They were able to come out the same day which was hard to find. Our service technician, Josh, was super helpful and got our AC working the same day. He stayed until the job was done and then returned to install the new part with no issues.
