After my Dermatologist retired I needed to find a new one and Dr. Krathen/Essential Dermatology was highly recommended to me. My first visit yesterday could not have been better. The appointment was ON TIME, quick and efficient and addressed my needs and questions with complete professionalism. The office was extremely clean and all of the staff wore masks the entire time. When it comes to skin care, it is comforting to know that I have a new team that I can trust. I would recommend them to anyone!!

I was referred to Dr. Krathen on an emergent basis and was totally comfortable with him and his team and I knew right away I was in good hands. The lady at the front desk appeared to be busy with the phone ringing quieter often, but she was very polite and made sure that all my information was correct. I really enjoy this dermatology office! The mix of high tech and having someone pleasant answer the phone makes it easy to book an appointment (which you can usually get in a week or so), refill a prescription or ask a general question. They use the same app as my PCP which makes things even easier. When you are in the office they always take you in on time, you are seen by Dr. Kraten quickly, and despite it being busy you never feel like you are wasting his time. They office is also very clean which I appreciate!!

Very first visit and I was welcomed promptly and warmly. I came to discuss issues and while I was explaining, Dr. K. Took care of one of them while we talked!I was able to book an appointmrnt only a couple weeks out to have a second issue dealt with.They were very friendly and wasted no time in caring for me.I am very happy with my initial appointment.

Dr. K. and the team are the best around Boston. Ive been to 4 other dermatologists in the area and there is no comparison. I think the other reviews speak for themselves but in my experiences everyone was friendly and I was not rushed. This part is key. Since I was not rushed the team actually listened to my concerns, problems, and I believe ultimately helped me to select the appropriate treatment for my situation. I wish that I had found this office years ago.

Ive received excellent care by Dr. Michael Krathen at Essential Dermatology. He quickly diagnosed a squamous cell carcinoma on my cheek and arranged for its removal by an excellent surgeon.

It was my first visit there. Wait time less than 5 min, even though I arrived a little earlier. The visit went very quickly and efficiently. Doctor is very pleasant, attentive and thorough. All in all - excellent experience!

Im a new patient & yesterday was 1st visit. The office was easy to get to, plenty of parking. Very friendly staff, quick visit. Dr Michael was professional, friendly & reassuring.

Got a skin check and a freeze off procedure. All went well, short wait, good parking, and early appointments are available.

Went in and they found Basal cell. Time between first screen, biopsy results and removal was less than a week. Highly recommend! Also definitely go get checked if you suspect anything. Wife made me go and I’m glad I did.

This is a great office. They are very accommodating to my schedule. I cant say enough about Dr. Krathen. He is very responsive and actually called me at home to follow up on a recent visit. That level of service is rare. Great place, great experience.

This place is a money scam. They have charged me hundreds of dollars for one dermatologist appointment. Without notifying me of the costs related to an unnecessary service they made me do when I was there. They clearly wanted to put me on the most expensive medication out there which was complete unnecessary compared to what other dermatologist recommended. I do NOT recommend this place at all unless you want to be charged hundreds of dollars for services youre not aware of how much its going to cost.

Everything was excellent from check-in to check-out. Both Dr. Krathen and his assistant were very professional and made me feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend them.

Nice office. Check-in was quick, wait time was short. The nurse set us up in the treatment room. Dr. K, came or quickly, discussed his plan. The biopsy of the rash on my arm was fast and didnt hurt at all. He gave me explicit instructions, and provided written instructions also. This went very well. I definitely recommend him

I had my first visit this week. Dr. Srathen was friendly, and thorough for my first skin check in several years. The receptionist was very nice and the intake process was efficient (I especially appreciated getting most of it done online in advance). Dr. Strathens assistant was very nice and professional.Finally, I am wary of being over-treated by fee-for-service specialists. (Ive been bamboozled several times in the past). Its very hard to know as a layperson if recommended procedures are really needed. For reasons hard to explain, I did not feel this tug from Dr. Strathen or his staff.

Front desk staff is friendly. I was nervous about waiting a long time to get a cyst removed, but I had the consult to procedure in 2 weeks with a follow up next week. Procedure went quick and Dr. Krathen and the nurse explained everything thoroughly. Highly recommend!

We followed Dr. Krathen when he opened his own practice. His staff is kind, and he is by far the nicest physician I have met in many years. He is smart but not arrogant, listens to your concerns, and does not mind being challenged. In a world where so many physicians give you the impression they cannot wait for you to leave their exam room, Dr. Krathen is a breath of fresh air.

I was referred to Essential Dermatology by my PCP. All the employees treated me like they had known me for years. They were very personable, professional, knowledgeable and were able to treat my issue, in a timely manner. They also were able to assist with a referral for a vascular ultrasound that another doctor had requested incorrectly. They went above and beyond and I highly recommend them.

I was greeted warmly and had filled out the necessary forms online so all I had to do was agree to the HIPPA form.I waited 4 minutes to be seen only because I was early. Highly recommended for both medical and cosmetic services. I had no idea that so many of the annoying growths that have appeared with age could be cosmetically removed via laser, liquid nitrogen, fine tip cautery, PRP for hair loss. Dr. Krathen discussed multiple treatment options in depth with me and I felt no pressure at any time. I am extremely happy with the results of the laser treatments.

I wanted to have Fraxel dual and reached out to Essential Dermatology. I needed a consultation with Dr. Krafthen first. He was easy to talk to, made suggestions and recommendations. I was impressed with his staff. This is something I notice because I’m a staff person myself. The day I’m supposed to have Fraxel dual there is a blizzard. His staff checked with me beforehand and let me make the decision whether to come in or not. I decided not to come in at the last minute, and they honored the December pricing and rescheduled me. I went in for the Fraxel dual on January 2021. They removed the numbing cream and added a fresh application. They took me on time. The procedure was uncomfortable, but completely bearable. Dr. Krathen was excellent about reaching all the problem spots. He was thorough. Fast forward to post-treatment, I am healing well and seeing the results already. The staff checked in with me as well. I would do it all over again.
